Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Natsuki Sumiko, Starblazer

And suddenly there was an electrical barrier in her face. With no other options she could think of, Sumiko proceeded to slam her front foot down into the dirt as hard as she could. This immediately left a small crater, and her momentum caused her to skid forward, sending dirt and debris up into the air in quite a messy shower of junk. However, even if it didn't stop her immediately, her move paid off in the end, even if she did almost smack into the electricity she did just barely manage to stop herself, leaning forward and waving her arms, and nearly falling onto her butt in the process.

But she did catch herself.

"Whoa, that was close!" Sumiko declared, before raising her fists. It looked like she wasn't going to get there without a fight... but that meant she'd just have to throw herself at it! Everyone was ready to fight, so it wasn't like they were just beating one another up for the hell of it! This was for fun, anyway, so it'd be fine!

@BCTheEntity: Working on feedback.

@Pandapaw23: Glad to hear it!
@BCTheEntity: Well, it's a much more cartoonish image then anything else in the RP, and it's also a canon character.

As for the weapon, what did you want to discuss exactly?
@BCTheEntity: Okay um... can say using Samurai Jack for an appearance is really unfitting, for one thing. ^^;

Secondly, um... for this setting, an evil-slaying sword doesn't really make sense because evil is entirely a concept, not a tangible thing like in some settings? It's too nebulous of a qualifier. Besides, all weapons are already capable of killing people, but they just don't under school rules.

@Ryougu: Any battle operating fully under school rules renders lethality impossible, no matter what you do it won't kill.

You could set separate win conditions other then "opponent cannot fight any longer" though.
@kczrsk: Um, he needs an actual appearance and not just a height, and you should probably flesh out his personality a bit more then that. ^^;

As for IE skill and AE Device, um... a high pain tolerance and a straight razor just won't cut it, so to speak. ^^; Magitech weaponry and barriers and stuff.

I'd also like to clarify that School Battles are never lethal, no matter how lethal a weapon otherwise would be, due to school rules. That's not to say the weapons can't kill otherwise though.
