Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

I'm holding out for another option for her I've been talking with my friends about. ^^;
@Ryougu: I'm not completely certain either.

If anyone can get out a post, please do, um, I'd appreciate it. ^^;
"Um... um... um... um..."

At some point, Akane had shot to her feetr. In such a short amount of time, she'd become a magical girl and met so many other magical girls... Ah, it was a dream come true, it really was! But this time, well... Golden Flower just walked into the restaurant out of no-where! For a moment, food was completely forgotten, Akane's fists clenched in front of her chest as she nervously hopped from one foot to the other. This was just... just too exciting!

"... Y... y-yes! Yes!"

Without further delay, the redhead almost immediately made her way to the magical girl, leaving her bag behind as she did. She was a fan of every magical girl, all of them! Even the ones that weren't as popular she faithfully followed however she could! All magical girls deserved her passionate interest, there wasn't a single one who didn't deserve it! However, as Akane came to a stop just in front of Golden Flower, she found herself uncertain of what to say, cheeks flushed with both excitement and no small amount of embarrassment as she rocked slightly on her heels.

"E-er... um... e-er... u-u-um..." for a few moments she stood there rather awkwardly, kicking herself. She ran over here and then couldn't say anything?! "... H... H... H-h-hi G-Golden Flower-san!"
  • Name: Sakura Kyouko
  • Universe: Puella Magi Madoka Magica(Post-Series, there is no third movie)
  • Appearance: "I'll kill you if you waste food."
  • Personality: Kyouko is a rough, abrasive girl with a rather selfish attitude. She has no qualms about stealing food or other items, and feels that it's simple fact that she has to do whatever she can to get by. She's something of a tomboy, and her taste in fashion makes her come off looking rather like a delinquent(which is not an entirely inaccurate assumption given how she acts). She is also somewhat obsessed with food, carrying snacks on her person at nearly all times and frequently seen eating. And eating. And eating. Kyouko eats a lot. In spite of her selfish, abrasive attitude, Kyouko has a softer side that sometimes comes out. A girl who sometimes remembers she wanted to help people, a girl who likes stories that, no matter how bad things get, have a happy ending. As a result, even if she initially tends to treat them like idiots, Kyouko has a soft spot for people who want to help others, deep inside her. Due to certain events in her home universe, her softer side is now more likely to come out. However, this doesn't change the fact that she's often abrasive and rough towards others, and still quite selfish.
  • Powers/Skills: Kyouko's body is stronger and more durable as a result of being a Puella Magi. On top of this, she can transform into her magical girl form, sporting a red outfit and a spear that can unlink itself to become almost-whip like, the segments connected by chains. The spear is highly extendable as well, and incredibly sharp. Kyouko is far more difficult to kill then a normal human, but if her Soul Gem is destroyed she will instantly die. Kyouko also possesses illusions and an enchanting ability that in action is basically being able to sweet-talk others into doing things for her, but she is as of now unwilling or incapable of using it. She sports an aggressive fighting style fueled by her equally aggressive personality.
  • Brief Bio: A girl who suffered tragedy after becoming a magical girl, which formed her current worldview. Due to a chain of events, one that massively effected the world, she now has more company and likely a brighter future, even in her eventual death.
  • Equipment: Kyouko carries her Soul Gem, which she uses to transform in a magical girl. In this form she carries a spear that can detach itself and become something like a chain whip, which she can wrap enemies in. The tip is extremely sharp. At any given time, she has a mass amount of snack food on her person.

As an addition, I've decided to up the number of player characters to three, mostly because I think it'll make it easier on people trying to decide by not forcing people to pick only two. When you've got another slot, even if you don't fill it, it means you always could if you want so choosing gets a bit easier. ^^;

Edit: Also, list up to date.

Edit: Also also one of the other admittedly selfish reasons I wanted to add a third character slot. ^^;

  • Name: Misaka Mikoto
  • Universe: Toaru Kagaku no Railgun/Toaru Majutsu no Index
  • Appearance: Only My Railgun
  • Personality: Most people who do not personally know the Third-Ranked Level Five would naturally assume her to be someone high-class and refined. After all, she goes to Tokiwadai and has such a high level of power, right? This is perhaps why many people do not recognize her, as the real Misaka Mikoto is a friendly and relaxed person who doesn't have a problem talking to most people. She's also rather short-tempered, however, and possesses a sharp competitive streak that often results in excitement when she sees she's up against a challenge or a strong foe. She's also rather proud of herself, and at the same time quite childish. In spite of her tomboyish attitude, she loves childish, cute things, especially the children's mascot character Gekota. The frog draws her attention at all times. She is rather possessive of her Gekota merchandise. At the same time, Mikoto is tries to hide her love of such things, finding it rather embarrassing when people notice.
    The Electric Princess of Tokiwadai has a heroic bent to her personality. When there's trouble, she tries to help out as best she can. However, she also seems to have trouble asking for help when she has problems. Thankfully for Mikoto and all her friends, recent events have lead to her remembering how willing to help they all are.
  • Powers/Skills: As the strongest Electromaster and Third-ranked Level Five Esper of Academy City, Mikoto naturally exerts a great deal of power and fine control in relation to her abilities.
    • Offensively, the fact that she is referred to as "Railgun" is rather indicative of her capabilites. But before that, she has other options. She can fire electricity at her opponents, channel it through objects or her body, and general use electricity in a variety of different ways. Should this be ineffective, she can electromagnetically manipulate metal objects and use them as bludgeons or projectiles. If there is a high concentration of iron in the sand nearby, like there is in many areas of Academy City, she can draw it out and manipulate it to form a chainsaw-like offensive weapon.
      Of course, there is also Mikoto's Railgun. Replicating the effects of the actual weapon with her electromagnetic capabilities, Mikoto launches projectiles at Mach 3(at least). The usual ammunition is an arcade coin that disintergrates, giving the railgun limited range. However, any metal is theoretically an option, though larger objects are obviously more straining to use. Mikoto holds back against most opponents, for the obvious reason of not wanting to kill anyone.
    • Defensively she can use metal to shield herself, and no electrical attack is of any use against her. She can also use metal objects to dodge by pulling herself towards them, or even stick to the walls or ceiling and walk on them as long as there is metal close enough to the surface. This allows her a high amount of maneuverability.
    • As a utility, Mikoto is capable of hacking anything that is electronic. She can infiltrate databases through terminals, or shock commands into machines and robots. She can also remove herself from surveillance in such a manner.
    • Mikoto's abilities are not without their downsides. She can tire out, and going overboard can cause blackouts in the surrounding area. She is also not physically very strong and has no idea how to fight beyond her Esper power, besides dodging and running. Unless you count vending machine kicks.
  • Brief Bio: After participation in various incidents, including one that hit extremely close to home and one particularly recent one, Mikoto is still the kind of person who will help solve trouble wherever she can.
  • Equipment: Mikoto carries a a large number of arcade coins as ammunition, as well as a few other items of no particular note, such as a cell phone.

Fanilly's preparations had wound down, by this point. The last matter on her list had been simply to take a long, relaxing bath, and attempt to clear her mind as best she could. However, it wasn't a particularly easy task and there was no way around that matter, even as her maids helped to scrub her clean. For that matter, each of them could tell there was something wrong. Alaree attempted to speak up about it, saying that "Whatever happened, I'm sure it'll be fine!"

Viora hushed her quickly after that, noting it clearly wasn't helping, and the maids quietly proceeded with helping her bath before finally dressing her in her nightclothes, a loose-fitting and lightly frilled gown. With concerned looks that they simply couldn't hide, the maids eventually proceeded out of the room. After a few moments, Fanilly simply sat at her desk and sighed, leaning heavily on her hands. That entire fort of loyal Thaln soldiers, massacred by a subversive group tied to the rebellion of five years ago, and an ancient evil artifact lost. They hadn't been able to recover it, and their only lead was a skeleton with some evidence of Necromancy performed upon it.

Fanilly felt like she had failed. It was a possibility that weighed on her mind nearly constantly, and now she felt it absolutely had occurred. Would she fail the innocent people being slaughtered by an evil cult, now, as well? She couldn't. She couldn't let herself. But what if that didn't matter? What if she let more people die anyway?

It was around then that the door opened. Fanilly got to her feet quickly. It was Lilianna, who had wanted to talk with her... and... her daughter? Fanilly hadn't expected that, and then when the little girl hugged her and said good night, well... it was hard to stay totally upset with that in mind. Smiling slightly, Fanilly petted the tiny girl's white hair, before looking back up. "It' nice to see you, Vivien. Have you been a good girl?"

The young blonde girl paused for a moment.

"... It's... just..." Fanilly hesitated for a moment. "... So many things went wrong. We may have helped ensure Lady Cal's safety, but..."

She took a deep breath, and shook her head. Fanilly... she'd have to try. She'd have to make up for it. For the sake of Thaln's people. "... I... can't let those things happen again."

They had set out early in the morning, the goal being to make it to the border as quickly as possible.

The prisoner, the bandit girl they had taken after she was injured, was no-where to be seen. How had she managed to escape? She'd been there when they arrived in Aimlenn, and suddenly she was gone. How? Fanilly couldn't understand, and had one of the knights inform the local guard to be on the lookout. Frankly, the girl seemed relatively harmless as bandits went, she'd completely balked and bloodshed and been more concerned about being safe then achieving anything of particular malevolence. But she was still fleeing from the law.

It had taken some time to begin to approach the border, a little over a week. It simply wasn't possible to move with more speed. This particular area of this region was relatively sparsely forested, the landscape dotted with outcroppings of trees.

They were nearly there, of that much Fanilly was certain, astride her horse ahead of the rest of her knights. It liked wouldn't be more then a matter of moments before the allied encampment came into view.

There, Fanilly planned to discuss the plan in detail. Regardless of what the outcome was, this cult had to be destroyed.
@Yuuta: I'm a bit concerned about his ability to interact with everyone given his tendencies, unless I get enough villainous characters to split the group. I'll also note that "Free Will" is kind of irrelevant to include as a special ability here since everyone has it. ^^;

@Hostile: Accepted.

@Afro Samurai: Okays, in that case accepted. I don't have an issue with fully immortal characters, even, there just has to be some way to beat them that's not extremely specific or something.
