Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

I think they both go in totally different directions, really.

Estelle's only does one thing, and that's probably the only reason it can move around like it does, and it took her entire family working on that for a very long time to achieve.

Meanwhile, Mira's is crazy in its functionality but can't move, like every other bounded field around. I think Mira's is more impressive practically still but in terms of magecraft and all the Varianbec family achieved something pretty crazy.

... Aaaand now they're all gone and the only person who knows it is the vessel for the Redrock Grail.

I planned for it to be an achievement her entire family worked on for its entire existence, essentially. Their greatest achievement, basically, is the defensive bounded field that she utilizes.

... and a Servant could probably still break it pretty fast but hey, it'd buy her some time.
@Feyblue: I hope you don't mind that I glossed over the tour in my post. If you want I can edit, or you can provide more detail in your post, I just didn't think it was a good idea to bog it down with a room-by-room tour. ^^;
Saber

The black-haired young woman opened her mouth to speak again, but shut it quietly. No, it was best not to delay in investigating the mansion, understanding the layout of their 'fortress' was far wiser then inquiring about her Master's incomplete thoughts. From there, the tour around the mansion went quickly and without much of a hitch. Saber did not have any specific questions about the layout, though she was recording the details in her mind in order to best exploit them if it was necessary. Ideally the fight would never come here, or at the very least never actually pass the walls of the mansion. Still, it would be impractical not to be prepared would it not? And so she remained silent and observant, only deigning to speak once the tour was over.

"I am confident that the fight will never pass these walls," Saber began, "However, I am glad to know the 'fortress' that I shall be defending."

Now all that was left was to change her clothing and then proceed to the Church. The more quickly they fulfilled this objective, the less likely it was that another Master would choose to target them while they were returning home. Naturally, Saber felt as if she could defend her Master, but it would still be best to avoid a conflict without having prepared a deeper strategy. That being said, in the unlikely event that the enemy was Caster or Assassin, the Servant's opinion on the matter would be reversed. Attacking and eliminating them swiftly and quickly would become her priority.

However, it would only be the most foolish of Masters who would use either of those Servants in such a manner.

Estelle Varianbec, Master of Caster

"Ah, so you want to take on Saber?" Estelle replied, smiling slyly. To be honest, fighting(and defeating) Saber would be a wonderful prize on the first night of the Grail War. Saber was regarded as the strongest class, though naturally the level of power between classes varied depending on the Heroic Spirit summoned into them. Still, to defeat what was likely to be one of the strongest Servants in the war so quickly... well, needless to say, the diminutive girl would be quite pleased if it came to pass. "I'd like to see the hero of the sword die quickly, too! But if we can't manage that, I'd like to see to it that Caster or Assassin is defeated."

These were also for practical reasons. Assassin was dangerous if left alone to remain hidden, and the longer Caster was allowed to build their workshop the more hazardous they could become. But frankly, any Servant's death would be welcomed. "I'm confident you'll beat anyone we come up against, Rider!"

Confidence didn't mean stupidity, however. The bounded field surrounding Estelle's body was operating at its strongest level, meaning that she was well-defended from direct attack. Choosing to attack while multiple Servants would be heading to and from the Church meant even if their presence was detected it was possible(though admittedly not the most likely possibility) that they would not be recognized as an offensive threat until it was too late.

Finally, well... Estelle had summoned one of the most dangerous Riders she could. Her confidence was hardly unwarranted.

@Blackstripe
@Feyblue: Eventually Mira will realize that the trait that her Servant has in common with her is social awkwardness.
Estelle Varianbec, Master of Rider

Estelle smiled. That was what she wanted to hear, she wanted to hear that her Servant was eager to deliver carnage and destruction upon their opponents in this Holy Grail War. Still smiling brightly at her Servant, the small girl hopped off of the front step as she made to lead her Servant to the front gate of the Varianbec estate. Yes, indeed, not only had she summoned a powerful Servant, her Rider was completely unbeatable. At least that's how she felt about the matter. She knew that he'd be eager to go out as soon as possible, to destroy their opponents swiftly and without mercy. It didn't matter who they were or what their cause was, they would all be killed equally. Though... she wasn't cruel. She'd accept surrender from the Masters. It wasn't necessary to kill them, the threat of another contract being formed was slim if Servants were the primary targets. They'd be allowed to escape to the safety of the Church. If they were somewhat likable she might even escort them there. But if they attempted to persist, they'd find no mercy from the diminutive girl.

"I'm certain that some of the enemy Masters will be going to the Church to speak to the Overseer," declared Estelle cheerfully, practically skipping as she passed through the gate. "So we'll ambush them on their way back to... wherever it is they'll be going!"

She placed her hand to her mouth and giggled.

"You'll be able to smash and destroy until your heart's content, Rider," she added. Really, telling him that felt like almost like she was talking to a Berserker, but her Rider had quite a craving for violence and battle so it was really a fitting comment. "Why, if the Masters surrender, they'll even be close to the Church when they have to run off in tears!"

Estelle giggled again. Yes... the first Master she saw was in for a nasty surprise...

@Blackstripe
Going to let @Raineh Daze post before me in the Church scene, Estelle's post will be up shortly.
"Indeed, let's get it back quickly," Toshiko nodded in asset, arms folded as she approached the vase in question. Thankfully it hadn't been activated. That could have made the ensuing fight quite a bit more difficult, to say the least. If it absorbed mana, that meant that it would have been difficult to use spells at all in its presence if it was activated. Still, it was best they packed it away and got it back to its rightful owners as soon as they could.

"Do you care about anything other then that stupid vase?!" cried Kitty, suddenly. Toshiko glanced towards her, and noted that Bunny still seemed to be unconscious.

"She's still breathing, isn't she?" Toshiko asked. As if on cue, there was a low groan from the bigger of the two thieves.
Saber

"..."

Why did her Master begin a thought only to trail meaninglessly off into useless silence? It was a frustrating habit. The black-haired girl couldn't say she approved of such a thing at all, that was for certain. She spoke her mind, and her Master failing to do so seemed rather... aggravating. Really, why would she allow herself not to complete a thought? What benefit was it to simply go silent like that? Saber was dismayed by such an apparent lack of confidence. She wanted her commanding officer to hold their head up high and say what needed to be said, not to allow themselves to be silenced.

"If you are going to begin a thought, you should finish it, and speak your mind," replied the swordswoman, firmly, with a nod of her head. It was how she handled matters, at least. "... Regardless, it is best for you to guide me around your home. It is rather useless to maintain a fortress if one of its defenders does not know the layout."

@Feyblue
Estelle Varianbec, Master of Berserker

So this was the power of a Servant... in an instant, the skeletons around them had been annihilated without fail, clearing a wide circle around the pair of them in a single motion. Then, the small girl was set down on her feet as her Berserker proceeded to tear apart the army of familiars. Really, all Estelle had to do was watch her Servant work... but she wasn't content with that. Extending one arm, a series of white orbs appeared above it, as the childlike magus spun on her heel and let loose three beams of destructive prana. A low-grade deployment of her most powerful spell was hardly as impressive as the top ceiling of her capabilities, but it would do, tearing cleanly through skeletons with each shot and knocking them into loose piles of bone. After a few more shots, she caught sight of the conclusion of the Servant battle. The Caster-class Servant had sunk some strange dagger into her opponent, and immediately fled when the purple haired woman hit the ground.

The last of the skeletons were being mopped up, but the town was still in flames. Deep down, she had to question why a Caster class Servant would chose to attack their opponent with a dagger rather then the useage of magecraft. Did the woman perhaps possess a high grade of magic resistance? She didn't seem like any one of the three knight classes, though... From appearances, Estelle would have guessed Assassin, but... somehow she didn't seem so... stealthy, perhaps?

Whatever the case was, something strange was happening here.

"... Berserker!" she called, "We're going to remain here. Do what you can to extinguish these flames, I'll investigate the wound that dagger made."

Perhaps this was an overly-confident decision, as Estelle began to approach the downed Servant. But... She had to know what had happened, and on top of that... Well, a deeply smug part of her was sure that even an attack from a Servant wouldn't so easily shatter her bounded field.
