Also checked out Myriad Reality, I think they are trying to build some kind of computer consciousness over there via IC posts.

I'd imagine the AI has access to every role, with the disadvantages being she can't actually do the physical stuff of roles (being a computer), and she basically has to ask or convince someone to do the hands on stuff, including dangerous stuff, and they may misinterpret or not understand her instructions, etc. It just seems odd to me that an AI has access to only two role info when she isn't gonna be able to do the hands on physical of any role, and should have the ability to grab information and everything from her knowledgebase anyways. :P

Maybe it's like so: She has the whole database of knowledge, but only 2 logic chipsets, so she can regurgitate information on anything, but her ability to work up solutions in fields that aren't programmed into the two logic chipsets is impaired. So if she had navigation and ship armaments as her logic sets, she could provide alternate routes and analyse/compute holdovers and laser slingshotting. But if asked how to heal a shattered spine, she'd start reading from a textbook.

Something like that.
<Snipped quote by ScreenAcne>My character might be offended by that. Doesn't change the fact it's still likely to happen, but don't tell her that.

Maybe you fixed the core so well, it developed sentience and came to the conclusion it didn't want to live anymore. You can't fix a broken heart with a socket wrench.

Alright, that should be it!

@ScreenAcne I'm just going to plonk my WIP here, in case there are any inputs you wish to have while I am still working on it. I'm trying to make a little commentary about consumerism and the party's desire to get people to be more self-conscious thus more spendy. Which wasn't working in his case.
@Voltus_Ventus

When you guys vote for a ship it comes with some preset stuff, then the captain choose one accessory and one utility-this adds one more of each- So, if you do pick it don't pick the items yet. I might generate a list.

Accessories are all optional stuff and go all over the place-from 3D printing recycling vending machines so you can get coffee and shit to radiation showers-

Utilities are more direct stuff. Like heat shielding, larger armoury, a prison, ship guns.

Vending Machines you say? I like the sound of that.

I am as of yet still conflicted, however, I might just go captain. I'll think on it some more.

My suggestion if Overseer doesn't get filled though: Some kind of hotline agent assigned to the ship who will call periodically and at inconvenient times. I feel the party is more faceless than having a direct representative. Unless it's a random quality check on a section of ships. And there is an over-leader.

But that's just me musing, don't take it seriously.
@ScreenAcne

I see that one of the package options for the captain is to give the ship extra utilities and accessories. What could we expect from those? Like are they quirky and weird but otherwise useless, or are they like better shielding etc?
Kinda caught between overseer and captain, been looking at their packages.

@ScreenAcne Which do you think I should do: Sympathetic Captain or Lawful Neutral Overseer?
