Current Some of y'all are either too old to act the way you act, or too young to be taken seriously. Hard to tell some days.

The sudden crash is something Nik wasn't familiar. The sight, however, was. Within a second of seeing things go down, instincts took over. Nik began dashing forward, only a moment behind Sally. While Sally was one to de-escalate the situation... he wasn't exactly that kind of person. He was one to jump headfirst into conflict, not prevent it. A Tybalt, not a Benvolio. The move forward was one that felt easy. Natural.

While Sally spoke, Nik fished into his pockets. Of course he brought them. In both front pockets were two small bags... pouches, if you will. Out of them, he pulled four round objects: metallic marbles. Cheap, simple. Effective enough for this sort of situation. He held them between his index and middle fingers on each hand. With a deep breath, the traditionally silver marbles began to shine and glow with a slight red aura. They crackled with energy, barely audible to Sally. Nik's eyes themselves seemed to change: a hint of red began to peek out from the stormy blue of his irises.

It was only a slight exertion of energy, but Demo felt it as if he was losing a small part of himself in energizing the beads. Beyond the slightest bit of exhaustion, Nik only felt anger. Every muscle in his body seemed tense as he prepared for the fight coming his way. The only thing holding the mutant back from firing away was the one thing he picked up from movies: he needed a quip. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size!"

His form was rather interesting. Nik wound up his first throw like a pitcher, his right hand arcing ahead of him, the marbles firing with straight forward. But then he shifted, gathering his momentum and spinning onto his other leg to let loose the marbles from his left hand with a slight upward swing. It was a little jerky, and not entirely perfect, but the aim was solid. The marbles fired towards the upper body of Isaac. With an arrogant snap, the marbles detonated into small blasts and a cloud of black smoke when they neared their target. The blasts were nowhere near lethal... just a concussive force to knock Isaac back... hopefully.

Nik was starting to feel a little overwhelmed. He was used to being popular at school and being surrounded by people who wanted to talk to him, but there was something different about being one of the two youngest in such a large group of strangers. That... and these weren't normal people. They possessed intense personalities. Nearly everyone in Seattle just seemed so... gray. Bland. They would stand up and sit down when commanded, and spoke when spoken to. But everyone here... Hell, they were gods among men. Rather attractive, model-like gods with insane powers. Even someone with the ego of the explosive mutant couldn't help but feel both energized and uneasy by such a dynamic.

Sally's questions didn't help matters. What was he supposed to say? I can only blow shit up, or I get a little stronger when a bomb goes off in my face? At least, that's how Nik figured it worked. He hadn't exactly been in many terrorist situations once he found out about his powers... and quite frankly wasn't keen on jumping into one now to find out. Though, that would be pretty fun. It would be like Die Hard... Oh, I should watch that again soon...

As Nik sat and watched events unfold, his eyebrows couldn't help but rise at the appearance of another newcomer. One whom even Nik could infer by reputation at this point... and someone he certainly didn't want to get close to. Nik hopped up to his feet as D posed a question to the group. Getting out of here sounded interesting... but...

"I don't know if all of us going out and hitting up the town is a good idea. The public isn't fond of those with certain... abilities. It could take a single reference to our powers or accidental demonstration and we could have a mob at our throats. There's plenty of things to do here... swimming, basketball, some good old football in the yard..." He looked everyone over with an uncertain smile spread across his lips. He honestly wanted to go out and do something normal, but something in Nik's gut forebode disaster if they left the campus.
For full transparency, since I mentioned this in the Discord a while ago... I am going to be taking a leave of absence in this RP. Haven't had inspiration for Sling in a while and writing him has begun feeling like a chore. Might throw one last post up of Sling getting out of the hotel, but no promises. If there is a point in time that works for me to jump back in and I find that inspiration for Sling again, I may try to jump back in. Who knows.

Nik watched from his perch, doing his best to pay attention and make sure he understood everyone correctly. He wasn't particularly impressed by Sally's ability. An over-stimulation of older American films and stories had desensitized the impressive nature of being able to move things with your mind. That isn't to say he would much rather prefer that than being a walking bomb... but hey, Nik's powers suited him. When Sally turned her questioning over towards himself, he was glad that D had stepped in to take some attention away. The Russian-American wasn't exactly sure how to elaborate, and took a moment to try and figure it out.

Luckily, Drake's words managed to kickstart the thought process. Well... that and Nik felt slightly better that his roommate (despite looking like a badass) had an inferior ability and one that Nik had in part. "Well... I don't burn well either. The second part... I guess to better describe it... If I touch something and want it to explode, I can make it explode. I'm still narrowing down exactly what I can blow up, and how much... but blowing shit up just drains..."

He realized he was instinctively looking at his open palms that rested on his knees. With a look up, Nik realized he was sharing too much. Going into too much detail. There was no chance he was going to demonstrate his powers outside of a controlled setting, no matter how cool it looked. No... they would all find out soon enough. With a quick glance, Nik's gaze fell upon Una. His voice, in a subtle and poor form, seemed to mimic Humphrey Bogart. The product of too many movies. "You never answered your own question, love. What powers do you have hidden up your sleeve?" With his eyes glancing up at the tree and back down towards Khloe, he gave a small nod accompanied with a smile. "And don't think I haven't forgotten about you two either."

It was almost too easy to fit in. The girl with the freckles was clearly nervous, and the arrogant side of him believed it to be the effect of Nik's presence. A more logical individual would point to a plethora of factors, and Nik's mind took a moment longer to find that path. The newcomers seemed a little hesitant as well. Of course, Api and D seemed to be rather accustomed to life at a school for the genetically gifted. Nik kept a smile plastered on his face, one that seemed more mischievous than he truly was. While glancing over at Khloe, he gave a nod to the bench next to him and gave that spot a quick pat. "As the movies will teach you, Americans apparently don't like sitting on things properly. Might as well get embrace the culture."

It took Nik until Una's second round of questions to truly get all of them. He wasn't exactly fond of "sharing" about his past. But, nonetheless, he would have to eventually. So Nik took a brief moment to figure out what exactly he wanted to share before answering.

"Well, to answer those dating profile questions of yours... I'm Nik Markov, 16, single from outside Seattle, and my extent of Parkour has usually involved me evading the consequences of living a life outside of the rules. I'm not great at calc, so you might want to let someone else help you with that. As for my powers..."

Nik's voice faltered. When explaining to Damian what he could do, the Demolitions Mutant was ecstatic. The two were passionate about discovering the limits of the ability, and there was something inherently amazing about being abnormal then. But there was something about it now in the presence of other "abnormals" that just seemed... destructive. He gave a small chuckle, a nervous tick in response to his inability to properly explain for a moment. "I guess... I'm really good when things blow up in my face. And they blow up a lot. Let's just say that."
@webboysurf I have no idea why really...but every time I look at Demo's face I am convinced that he's going to end up a villain haha xD.

I 100% don't blame you. His arc could be interesting depending on how things develop.

The week had been rough. It hadn't been very long since the inciting incident, when Nikolai discovered who he was. His family lived in the suburbs of Seattle, and every waking moment Nikolai could afford was spent in the forest with his friend Damian, experimenting with his powers. Both knew it wouldn't be long before Nikolai ended up somewhere: his powers were exceptionally dangerous.

But Nikolai was transitioning surprisingly well. He was never one to waste time, nor was he one to sit around in his room. The young Russian-American practically lived outside. It was no different here. Once he was free, Nikolai took the long, scenic route to his room. Once he dropped his things back off in his dorm, noticing his roommate wasn't there, Nikolai continued wandering outside.

Nikolai smelled cigarette smoke and Nikolai was reminded of his cousins, who used to smoke all the time. The mutant's family was very strict on smoking, and the one time he decided to try smoking with his cousins he was hacking for a few minutes. He rounded the corner and saw a small gathering of his fellow classmates. After a deep breath to instil confidence, Nik began to make his way over. They seemed to be focused on the cigarettes, so the mutant decided to change the subject as he approached... until he noticed his roommate handling the situation just fine.

Nikolai gave a short wave, wearing a white sleeveless tee and black jeans with red sneakers. He kept his hands in his back pocket, giving a smile. "Didn't realize we were all having a party in the courtyard after classes, you should have invited me."

With a mischevious smile, Nikolai climbed up onto a nearby bench, sitting on the top while his feet rested in the seat. "Name's Nikolai, pleasure to meet everyone. Friends called me Nik back home, but my family called me Cole. I'm good with whatever." He paused for a moment before looking each person over. "And if I heard correctly while walking over... Una, Api, and D. Wild names." With a slight chuckle, Nikolai nestled in to get into the conversation, glad to finally be interacting with people his age again.
@RumikoOhara Your life does not sound boring by any means, at the very least.

@webboysurfNice one Web. Ladies and gents Web is in another rp with Shield and myself and I have to say he makes great characters, writes well, and is very gentlemanly. Even if his characters aren't.

I feel both offended and flattered by that. Will admit, Sling was designed to be the sarcastic asshole of the group.

And quite frankly, too busy for shenanigans.

EDIT: By that, I mean I am literally running all over the place for the next month and a half getting shit done. I've finally been able to sit down at my laptop now and it's nearly 2:30am.
