At the moment most seem to be moving to the kitchen yes. Some first went to put their bags in their room (My character unpacked his things both normal and spy) and is now going with two others to the Kitchen where 4 or 5 people already are. Thankfully it is a big kitchen and Devin only needs one pot and stove top :)
Apologies for the long post of nothing interactive for the most part. I tend to jump deep into my characters when they are left alone haha

Still Devin, Nikki, and Kat should be making their way back to those in the kitchen.

By the way is it about lunch time or more dinner time in the game @Agent 47?

Walking into his room Devin was happy to to see the impressive interior didn't end at the dorm room hallway. Walking into the space he was happy to see his other bags and items waiting for him just inside the door. He hastily gathered his things and started to put them in the right space. There was enough closet space for his clothes and a desk for his laptop. The special part of this schools dorm was, among other things, the hidden weapon storage options. Devin's seem to reveal itself with the push of a button on the TV mounted on his wall. Thankfully the small instructions on his desk explained how to use it and what the schools requirements were for gun safety. Devin was happy to see that the hidden gun safe was also locked to his fingerprint so as to no accidental tomfoolery with other students.

With his clothes put away and his laptop charging the young Canadian started to store his weapons. He started with his sidearm a Sig Sauer P226 Pistol. The weapon was a gift from his mother and was the same weapon she took when out on the field. The grip was standard with only mild alterations. The rule in the house for everyone was learn to shoot then modify and while Devin was an excellent shot he learned that modifications where a losing game. You learn on the stock you are ready to lock. He thought as he put the gun down.

Next up was Colt Canada C8SFW. The modern trade tool for active members of the Canadian army and special forces. Through some contacts, albeit only one phone call, his dad was able to get him one as a going away gift for getting accepted into S.P.I.G.A. The weapon came with plenty of modifications to fit any sort of need, but like before Devin first had to earn them. Devin had the sneaking suspicion he would likely get them sent as his dad found out about his grades or something.

Last, but certainly not least was his favorite. The bag was light, but what it held was an instrument of perfect precision. The Remington Defense CSR. It was Devin's favorite because it was the same weapon his dad used on most missions when he was in the military before he joined the RCMP. He was a member of the Airborne Pathfinder Unit. A group that specialized in securing drop zones, gathering intelligence, and briefing follow-on forces—also conduct ambushes and reconnaissance behind enemy lines.

Devin's father was and is a badass. It was a lot to live up to. Especially when he listened to his father talk about what his mother did. All of a sudden the gun in Devin's hands felt very heavy. It was more than the weight of what it was capable of, but the crushing weight of what his own expectations. His parents always said no matter what path he decided to follow they would support him, but that didn't change the fact that both were some of the best in their field.

Looking over and seeing the trunk he sent ahead still full of books he set the rifle on the rack next to the others and picked some of them up. Reading was where Devin found his center. He loved it and had his mother to thank for the growing passion. Flipping through them he gave an audible laugh as he saw biography and autobiographies of famous spies. Finally he fell upon a book about Virginia Wells or the "Limping Lady" One of the most successful and famous allies spies during the second world war. He had read the book at least three times and knew he would read it several times more. Looking at a picture of Virginia Wells he saw a lot of his mother in her and felt a boost of confidence.

After putting the books away Devin checked his watch and saw the time. His stomach let out a little gurgle as if to say 'time doesn't wait for hunger.' So listening to his stomach he grabbed a few of the Top Ramens and was about to leave his room. As he reached the door he realized he nearly forgot an important detail. Quick as he could he found his old flip cell phone and held the call button down for five seconds. Instead of the normal menu a basic interface came up with three contacts. Clicking on the top one he brought the phone to his ear. A few second of no ringing he heard the call connect with a robotic greeting 'Call Encrypted'

"This is Poseidon. I've arrived." Devin's tone was uncharacteristically emotionless as he waited for the reply.

"You have your orders." the robotic voice said after an extended delay.

Devin hung up the call and pocketed the phone. Returning to his original plan he left his room with a forced smile that let way to a real one after he closed his door. A quick knock on his neighbors rooms he waited till Nikki and Kat were done and in the hallway. "Rain check on the home cook awesomeness Kat. I can make this in five minutes flat and for me that is four minutes too slow." He said holding the Top Ramen up for them to see.

@melissahart @Infernal Flame
I am going to wait till the GM posts; however, Devin was given some advice from his parents and unless the role play goes in a specific direction I am likely going to have Devin go and drop off his bag and then head into the kitchen (per his dad's advice he has a few top ramen packages in his bag.

If anyone would like to coordinate our characters walking up and talking together we can work on it via a Private Message and then post together when the group starts up again?

Please note we can work on a post that has our characters chatting for a spell and then going to their respective rooms so nothing major (in case the role play requires our characters to go somewhere else). I should be free to work on a post with someone between now and around 6PM Eastern Standard Time / Boston Timezone)

People have reached out so I am not able to accept any others interested in this cowriting post. Next time for sure!!!
Wow! This moved quite fast. I'll have my post up as soon as I find my computer. Also @World Traveler I think you forgot to mention Kat but it's no biggie~ Just wanted to let you know she's there so you know. :)

Nope I didn't forget but I did make an error in my coding your name. Apologies for that should have caught it, but I have fixed it now.
My post is up.

The internal thoughts part is so I can let everyone know (out of character) what my character is thinking. I don't think anyone is going to overuse the information as far as their In character being a mind reader but it also lets me flesh out my character more and give people an idea of how I am reading their own character.

If you read something that you don't understand or like let me know and we can talk in more detail about why I might have written it or something.

Also I am interested in having my character involved in the following activities (Please note I am posting this here in part to see if this would be allowed by the GM so nothing is set in stone.)

  • Sailing
  • Marksmanship Team
  • Morning Running

The yacht was a thing of beauty in most eyes, but in Devin's it was a true masterpiece. While he would have preferred a sailboat he was a fan of anything that got him on the water and this Spanish registered vessel would do nicely. During the trip from the main island Devin had walked around the ship admiring its ins and outs. When it set out he found some of the crew and watch them.

The rest of the trip was easy enough. Devin had found a place to relax. His nerves were getting the better of him as he saw the island. He hadn't really talked to anyone on the boat due to giving off an air of interest of the ship which was true so he didn't mind. He watched as they docked and then went and grabbed his bags. Some of his things had been sent ahead, but thankfully he made the right decision to wear his leather jacket as a brisk gust of wind common in England.

Following the directions given to the other freshman he entered the massive and aged walls of the castle as security motioned for everyone to follow. Looking around Devin gave his classmates a look over. He saw student armed, but it seemed none of them were twitchy with them. Others had phones or tablets. It was less intimidating than he would have imagined as nearly everything else fit any public school scene. There were people excited to see each other and others bemoaning the coming onslaught of school work that was ahead of them.

During the introduction a few things made Devin raise an eyebrow. After mentioning that some students hadn't survived Devin muttered "That wasn't in the brochure". What came after was some classic words of wisdom handed down to students throughout the ages. After the headmaster finished his lecture and guiding words everyone was directed to their living spaces. Along the way he heard some students talking to one of the security personal positioned at the exit. He made an announcement of where incoming students and so Devin followed.

Arriving at his building he almost knocked and then gave a mental chuckle. Opening the door he walked in to the welcoming arms of an expansive room seemingly fit for a king. While walking in he gave a loud whistle. "Nice..." he mused while walking into the living room area with couches and 7 other people engaged in small talk and introductions. Not one to linger any more than needed he walked into the room and introduced himself as they all turned and looked at who had whistled and walked in.

"Whitley Building right?" Devin asked politely. "I didn't know the school had such a sense of humor with names. Didn't exactly come through in the opening remarks..." He said while looking around at both the furniture and the company. Sitting in the room was the collection of people he had heard chatting. He didn't have names to faces but he figured introductions could happen soon enough. "Name's Devin Coal everyone. Nice to meet you."

(Devin's inner thoughts as he scanned the room and got a first impression of everyone in the room)

@Agent 47 - Asian, most likely Japanese considering his fashion sense with the sword. It helped being from one of the largest and diverse Asian populations outside the continent. The suit was straight from the Hollywood red carpet too.

@SpicyMeatball - The red head was hard to miss considering how striking her hair was. Add the massive tattoo and the boot camp Lara Croft look she had going she read as someone ready and the school was already going to slow for her. Devin wasn't smitten but he definitely did a double take when he first saw her on the boat and was happy to see her in the room.

@EchoesofOld - Normally they say you can tell a lot about a man from his shoes... What does that mean when a man isn't wearing shoes? Still considering there was only one pair by the door he could assume the guy didn't lose them.

@Infernal Flame - Tough to say where she is from. Perfectly pleasant enough for a roommate and classmate.

@melissahart - The denim jacket was stylish and he liked the look she had it paired with. Her blonde hair gave her a sort of Scandinavian beauty a lot of north Americans see in beauty magazines but the obvious travel fatigue was written on her face.

@Banzai Tracers - Good Lord! Where did they grow you? This guy towered over Devin by several inches. I guess he was going to have to get used to not being one of the taller in the bunch like he was back home.

@Xandrya - Cute. Considering every woman in this school was likely capable of killing someone thirty different ways Devin figured she wasn't any exception so a simple happy smile would be about as far as I should go.

@baraquiel - Energetic to say the least. She seemed to beam at him as he introduced himself and was one of the more enthusiastic in the group from the short time he had been there. Some might roll their eyes at it, but Devin saw it more as an impressive feat considering where they all were.

Once Devin had introduced himself and shook or nodded to everyone he looked around for his things. "I am guessing stuff we had delivered was brought to our room or maybe do we have to go pick it up somewhere?"
Working on post now but have a few extra points for me to add with how many people are in the room :)
@melissahart I look forward to our opposite mirror methods of tackling the social and teen drama of the school :P
If we want maybe there is a dorm space where it is individual rooms for the students and a shared living room and kitchen. We could have that one be unisex options and that would give people a friend base to start to build around. Devin wouldn't mind having a woman as a roommate since he has two little sisters.
