@vertigh0st I think something with the basics. Things will be subject to change as we bang out the specifics.
@Divine Darkness I think the oldest known would have to be 4,000 years. There could be older, but they would be extremely rare and most wouldn't have made it that far without being slain. I'm thinking in this universe, older vampires are much, much more powerful, but their appearances also make it much harder for them to go unnoticed amongst humans (aka: fangs lose the ability to retract; eyes turn permanently red, amber, white, etc.; the pheromones they give off instill primal fear in humans/animals within a close proximity).

As far as werewolves and lycans, those are totally allowed. I'm gonna make it so in this universe, the involuntary full moon transformation happens, but they are all able to transform partially (teeth, claws, eyes change to resemble creature, probably increased body hair lol) at any time.

@unicorgi I would prefer you run by me what you're thinking, but I think it's pretty open-ended.

2: Vampire "government"? YAS. There has always been one overarching law amongst vampires that the existence of vampire-kind (and supernaturals in general) must be kept secret from the humans. Now, since the supernaturals have been exposed through some event that has yet to be explained (lol), things are crumbling. There is a sort of Camarilla government that on the surface seeks to placate humans by convincing them that vampires mean them no harm when in actuality, they want to keep humans beneath vampires in the social pecking order. Another movement exists which seeks equality and coexistence between vampires, humans, and all supernaturals. Yet another movement seeks to rule over humankind with an iron fist, using them for nothing but food and entertainment. Other, smaller fractional groups can exist, too, but these are the most prevalent.

Yay! I'm so glad that this many people are interested! Let's go ahead and have everyone give a CS so we can see how balanced our numbers are. I'll make one for whatever group is lacking the most. If anyone has any more specific plot suggestions, I'm willing to hear them.

@Letter Bee It would kind of depend on what is meant by that, but if they're a human who can do magic, then yes. Vampires in this universe are magical creatures in the sense that magic is what allows them to return from the dead and also what gives them their weaknesses, so magic is totally allowed.

Okay, so this is my first attempt at starting a role play on here. I haven't even been on this site for like 3 years, so bear with me.

I'm looking for people to do a modern vampire/human/hunter role play. I don't really have a plot worked out thus far other than general tension between factions, but I know I want everything to be set in a fictional modern-day city called Redhaven in a world that is only just beginning to learn that the supernatural is real. It is general knowledge among humans that monsters exist, but very little is known about them and there is great uneasiness regarding them. Several are already in great positions of power and have been for centuries, so there is a lot going on politically surrounding the entire situation. There can be other supernatural creatures involved, but I want this to be a mainly vampire-based story with humans and vampires exploring the complications that come implicitly when one hunts the other and with groups of hunter vigiliantes taking it upon themselves to slay these creatures of the night.

The vampires of this role play would be a mixture of older and more modern vampire lore and there could even be different clans that possess different qualities, almost like those of Vampire: The Masquerade, but without the weirdly limited personality types between clans. Maybe some vampires might be able to form their blood into solid weapons, but then are not able to enter churches or consecrated grounds. Maybe some vampires can have great mind control capabilities, but they are unable to enter homes without invitation nor control those beyond the threshold of their own home. Maybe some vampires lack any special abilities outside of basic vampire abilities, but are in turn able to walk in the sun. This would all have to be discussed, but it would allow great character customization.

Hunters could either be lone wolves patrolling the streets, newbie hunters that have taken up arms against the newly-revealed vampire threat, or elite soldiers part of organizations that have already been operating since the dawn of man and beast. Universal vampire weaknesses would be most commonly utilized (fire, stake through the heart, decapitation), but some hunters could specialize in taking down specific clans with their special weaknesses.

I'd also like some normal non-hunter humans, as well. Oblivious humans working the nighshift alongside their secretly vampire friends, vampire sympathizers who want to believe that vampires and humans aren't so different after all, humans who find excitement in letting a vampire bite them, or humans being kept as juiceboxes at some vampire gathering place. Whatever you want!

I know this might seem a little ambitious for someone who hasn't joined any role plays here, but I really like the idea of crafting this world to kind of sandbox in with just an overarching plot of some kind. Please let me know if you're interested and if you have any suggestions.

I will add this later! I have to edit the sketch. For now, she has straight black hair that reaches her shoulder blades with bangs cut in a V-shape across her forehead. She bleaches one half of her bangs and a single long strand next to them. Her makeup is usually dark and bold as well as her clothing, though she likes to dress comfortably. Penelope is a relatively tall girl, standing at 5' 9" (175 cm).

Personality: Despite her use of magick and experience with the paranormal, Penelope is a very logically-driven mind. She views magick as a science with its own set of rules and methods that may not always reflect the laws of physics. Penelope likes to operate by often asking herself "Will this work?" and if the answer is no, she changes the approach. She has high emotions which may precisely be why she hates acting upon them. For Penelope, acting upon facts and reason is more productive than acting upon a feeling.

Bio: Penelope had been locking up the computer repair service building when she was jumped. Now she has awoken afraid, confused, and feeling alone in the cage.

Power 1: She can recite spells with varying degrees of success. She is most skilled in magicks involving electronics or electricity, but she does not consider herself to be a very powerful witch. Her powers, she believes, come from the spirit world, but no specific deities.
