Well, I don't know if it'd be OP. That's depend on the rest of the character, 'cause if all he can is is have the Byakugan, then he'd be pretty useless. I would advice against making a character with the Byakugan, though, Hyuuga or not.

Why would you advise against it? I was thinking of using a Byakugan medical ninja of some sort, but I might think of something else instead.

Should be a fun roleplay to be in, anyway.

I need to sleep soon since I have work tomorrow, but I am interested in this and would like to reserve a slot for a character if possible. Maybe some kind of Byakugan user like that one mist guy (forget his name right now)? (I.e. not necessarily a Hyuga character.) I'm just brainstorming right now, so let me know if that would be OP or not. I might even go with something else entirely.

Pokemon: Kalos Chronicles [REBOOT] (Still accepting)

@Ryuzaki You didn't need to wait, but I appreciate it anyway, so thanks. I hope the wait didn't bother people too much. I don't really like the name of my guy, but I'd rather not keep people waiting any longer than I already have, so I'm sticking with it and I whipped up a quick appearance description as well. Anyway, here's the CS, let me know if anything needs to be changed.

Name: Samuel “Sam” Stone
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Sam is 5’8” and has short black hair. He has blue eyes, white skin, and has an average build. For clothing, he usually wears a standard trainer’s outfit; a white t-shirt , a blue jacket and blue jeans. He also has a backpack that he uses for storing things that he needs on his journey.

Personality: Sam is a an intelligent man, but also an unmotivated one. He would rather relax and take things slow than rush towards doing something. This does not mean he is completely apathetic though; when it is important, Sam will work hard to achieve something. He is also a friendly person and tries to do the right thing.

History: Samuel grew up in Pewter City. He had a pretty normal existence with a middle-class family. Sam would do some part-time work at the Pewter Museum and planned on continuing with that, but his parents felt that he wasn’t motivated. This was true, but Sam still felt that being forced to move to Lumiose City in the Kalos region just to start a Pokemon journey was excessive. It would have made more sense to start in Kanto, but it was what it was, so he was determined to make the best of it. It wasn’t like Kalos was a boring area and it would be interesting to see more of the world anyway.

Even so, he would miss his home and one of the workers at the museum knew it. Therefore, the staff gave Sam an Old Amber to revive into an Aerodactyl. They said it was a special fossil and that this was an important task, but Sam isn’t sure if they just said that to make him feel better or not. Even so, he appreciates the thought and wants to complete the task he was given.

Preferred Partner: Eevee

Dream: There's no big goals to speak of, although Sam did like his work in the museum. In the short term, he would like to revive the Old Amber he was given into the Aerodactyl it originally was.

I'm slowly working on my CS. I've got everything done except the name and appearance sections, so I'd imagine I'll be able to get those done before the first IC post comes up on Saturday.

Right now my guy's just in the shop. To be honest I'm not really sure where to go from there, but if anyone wants to roleplay, that's where he is.

I'ma be honest, if we use a spreadsheet for anything, I'm out.

Aside from being incredibly restrictive, I don't think think it adds anything other than needless complication to the process. As long as a pokemon is reasonably in an environment it can be encountered in (say, a rock type in a mountain or a wooper in a swampy/watery area). I don't think we'd have that problem. realistically speaking, pokemon aren't exactly easy to capture. Not to mention, the fact that no one is going to be carrying around 99 pokeballs in their backpack to just spam at a pokemon.

But really, I do have a character idea in my head. I'm not sure if I'm going to join or not (I know I won't if my Pokemon are determined by a spreadsheet), but I'm posting to give my two cents on this.

I can see what you mean here. Honestly, if the spreadhseet was to come back, it wouldn't be by dice rolling and rarity, you would be free to pick Pokémon form the area, and they would make sense. I think common sense is a good baseline to use in a roleplay like this. You're not going to catch a Mewtwo on the first route of the game, but if you find a Pidgey there, nobody is going to be surprised. I think there has to be a certain level of trust in the roleplayers or no roleplay will work out.

No problem! I'm not the best at making characters, I have ideas but it tends to take me a while. I guess posting in roleplays is my favorite part of it?

But yeah, I can tell you put a lot of effort into your characters, and I'm enjoying reading your posts in the Harvest Moon RP too. However you're doing it, you're doing it right.
