Remarkable! Somehow, Adam felt his magical energy restoring. Very helpful, for obvious reasons. Keeping up the attack on the enemy forces was not free, unfortunately. More importantly though, the tree managed to save Alison from a great deal of pain or worse. Though he hadn't known her long, the Druid knew the Rogue was his friend, and like any of his friends he would do what he could to help them.

That being said, the situation was still dire. The Witch Queen's army was still advancing, slowly but surely, and better men and women than him were being killed. He would continue to throw trees at the enemy for now, but he knew that wouldn't be something he could do forever. Soon this spot by the bazaar would need to be given up. And when that time came, Adam knew what he would do.
@Crusader Lord you are perfectly fine! While I appreciate your offer of changing characters, it won't be necessary as I found a way to alter my concept to make it still interesting (both to write and from a narrative standpoint). The CS is mostly done, I am just awful at thinking of character names lol

I have been well, thanks! Mytheria has been a lot of fun; it's been a long time since I've been in such an engaging RP. I hope you are doing well also! My inbox is always open if you want to say hi.
@Xaltwind my punny self likes "chic chick."

Better than me, who is bad with character names :P

Good CSes so far! They've been fun to read.
@Crusader Lord my original plan was to have my character discover their powers IC and have them grow throughout the RP, but that isn't very interesting if the end result is known ahead of time. Not that you would've known, of course. I'm not going to ask you to change anything, since I know from our last RP together that you make good characters. I'll go ahead and think of a way to adjust my character idea. That or think of another one entirely, or just bow out of the RP if I can't think of anything. How proficient would you say Clarissa is with her powers? If you'd prefer, you can PM me with any thoughts you have.

@Remram right, I mean in the time between now and when that thread is up, I'll be thinking of ideas. What I think of will influence what I put in my CS and so on.
@Remram thanks! I have two ideas percolating in my mind. We'll see what meshes and interests me, when the IC is up. It's too bad I can't have a Zapdos as my starter though, that would be kinda funny :P I get why though, and I'll let you know if I have any questions.

@Xaltwind something like that, yes.

@CitrusArms maybe I'll end up with one in RP, who knows lol
I'll submit my interest. It might be a surprise, but I enjoy the Pokemon franchise :P No character ideas right now, but I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this, which is always a good sign.

Before Adam got injured on the bridge…

While supporting Silver Arrow, Xavier glanced at the bridge, where a certain bear-form Druid was charging into a mass of enemies. “Wow, I knew he was stupid, but I didn't think red-eyes was suicidal too.”

Vaella sighed, figuring the gnome was being his usual self. Something made her look towards Adam though, and she saw what he had decided to do. Suicidal wasn't the right word, though this wasn't exactly smart either.

“We have to help him!”

A few days ago…

The elven wizard of Silver Arrow walked around Golden Tree Park. She wasn't having much luck so far, but she saw a group of lumbermen on break and thought maybe they would be helpful.

“Excuse me, have you seen a gnome Druid around here? He has a curly mustache?”

“Oh, you must be his girlfriend,” one answered, though the look on Vaella's face made him more scared for his life than he had been seeing the Witch Queen's army. “S-sorry, that's just what he told us.”

The elf shook her head. “He's gonna get it later.”

Another man actually answered the question. “That loudmouth casted, then made an excuse and left. Adam he ain't.”

“Who?”

“Oh, he's a Druid from that party, Second Chance. Makes tenfold the trees of anyone else here, and even helps with the cutting as well as any of us. Very nice guy. Have you heard of them?”

“I have.” The role Silver Arrow played in them getting inside the city could be shared another time, perhaps. The notion of someone from a Bronze Tier team being that strong made her curious, though. MacKensie had said they took on a Gold Tier mission, after all, so there had to be something to it. “Tell me more.”

“Not much more to say. The guy's humble - maybe to a fault - so he usually changes the subject when we ask about that sorta thing.” He paused for a second, then resumed speaking. “Oh! There is one thing. Some ‘special project’ he's working on. The boss here refuses to say what it is, but I can tell it's important.” Making an impression Vaella did not recognize, he stated “if anyone here causes him problems, I'll make your life a living Hell.” A few of the others chuckled.

She thoughtfully nodded. This implied quite a few things, both about the night their teams had met and about the man himself. The wizard wondered if she'd ever see Adam again.

-----

After pulling the injured Druid away from the enemy forces, Vaella asked him if he was okay, then whispered something in his ear. Adam was slightly surprised, but he smiled and spoke. “True. Thank you, you're very kind.”

Then, seeming as if he just realized Xavier was there, he added “thank you both.” The gnome arched an eyebrow, but instead of an insult or snide remark he simply nodded. The wizard giggled briefly, said no problem, and guided her teammate back to Silver Arrow's position.

Mytheria never ceased to amaze. One moment he was thinking about what to do to help with the battle, the next he became distracted by Fenna shining with a luster unlike any he had seen before. It really was quite amazing. What it meant wasn't something he could quite parse, but he trusted the Dutch woman enough to know it was something good.

And speaking of something good, James showing up with a healing spell was quite fortunate indeed. Adam was grateful for his friend's intervention, because he was in quite a bit of pain now. Once the healing was finished, the Druid spoke briefly to his friend.

“Thank you, James.” Not much time for more than this, unfortunately. There was a battle to fight, and information related to it to share. “I have a plan. When the time is right, what we should do is…”

-----

Once the strategy was explained and the pair resumed their roles in the battle, Adam had to decide how he would strike. Being a front liner again was out of the question, even if it had helped Second Chance kill the ogres. No, what he would do is provide magical firepower, and thankfully Golden Tree Park had provided a great opportunity to practice this. So once he was safe behind the front lines, the American would grow trees - one for each finger and thumb, like before - and launch them at the forces. And in line with James’ idea and more importantly not wanting to accidentally hurt any of his friends, he aimed the arboreal artillery towards the back line of the enemy forces. However, there was an exception; since he saw Alison struggling with an enemy, he sent one tree towards the knight that threatened her.

He hoped it would help.

Robert Smith had been able to help a little bit with his improvised defense, but the enemies were unending. Scariest of all were the skeletons, which had breached the bazaar's defenses and whose presence had traces of better men and women who had fallen fighting the Witch Queen. And now they were causing more men and women to die, and that was unacceptable.

Unfortunately, there were no more crates and barrels to throw, so now the chef wasn't sure what to do next. He was scared beyond reason, but couldn't stand to see his fellow citizens die. So as a desperate move, he charged into the skeletons himself, using his bulk to strike a few of them before the undead killed him.
@AvaP well Alison didn't have to get bailed out yet, so she's ahead of Adam for now lol
Xavier "OF ALL PEOPLE!" Johnson. Fun stuff, Adam probably won't try any more direct charges for at least the next few minutes :P
