Team 7, Shisen Inuzuka

It had been a while since she had heard from anyone, not having had any training or mission to help her along in becoming a decent shinobi. Sitting in a tree in the woods, with Arashi running around but still in view of Shisen. Her brown hair was tied back loosely and her eyes were unfocused as she stared in the open space around her. Under normal circumstances, she would not be so unfocused and dazed but she did not go home after the mission. Instead she went to where parents and her used to live, before they were killed in front of her. She hadn't been home, haven't gone to bed or anything, the lack of sleep was hard on her. The memories of her parents deaths haunted her and she looked down, a vacant look on her face.

At least it stayed that way until she heard Arashi snarl at something or rather someone. "Hey! Hey! I'm not a threat! Jeez! Knock it off, Arashi!" came Ezuri's voice from a distance. Arashi snapped at him, until a twig snapped as Shisens feet hit the ground with a kunai ready. Ezuri noticed Shisen as she approached, although she noticed him as well she did not lower her weapon in the least. She found it suspicious that he was able to find her when she was careful to not leave any tracks. "Could you calm her down? She wants to eat me..." he said, looking nervously at Shisen and back to Arashi.

With a sigh, she whistled and Arashi backed off him, going to her side. "What do you want?" Shisen asked, keeping a flat tone as she watched him. Arashi barked at him, repeatedly, like she was demanding that he hurry up and answer.

"This note... it's from Kiyomi," Ezuri said, not getting to finish as Arashi leapt for the note. Taking it from a wide eyed Ezuri carefully as to not damage it as she turned to take it Shisen. Dropping it in her open waiting hand as she scanned the note over passively. She and a few others were suppose to meet Kiyomi Sensei at training field two, with a nod, she stuck it in her pocket. Having already had met the woman, she was eager to attend the summons and then turned on her heels with Arashi right behind her as the two began heading to the designated spot, leaving a distraught Ezuri behind.

Hayate Hyƫzu
Konoha Genin - Team 2

It was peaceful here.

Letting out a long sigh, Hayate finally opened his eyes. He sat still for another moment, simply enjoying the peace of his surroundings. It was good that nobody knew of this place; it gave him somewhere he could come when he needed to be by himself, and right now that was something that he desperately needed.

So many thoughts raced through his head, and even the calming nature of this place wasn't enough to get them off his mind. Sighing again, Hayate stood and stretched out his stiff muscles. He had lost track of just how long he had been sitting there, but it was probably time to get back. Turning, Hayate started to make his way home.
Several Hours Later...

He saw the note long before he reached the door to his room. Reaching out he pulled it from the wood and began to read. It was from Kiyomi, asking for him to meet with the remainder of Team 2 and Team 7 at the training fields. Looks like we finally have another mission. Hayate thought to himself, excited that he would finally have something to distract himself with. Entering his room, he quickly changed. Noticing something else in his room as well, Hayate nodded to himself. It seemed it was going to have to take a little longer to get to the training fields, but he was okay with that. Grabbing his equipment, Hayate left the room and headed on his way.
Sometime later... Konoha Training Field 2

Entering the field, Hayate glanced around. It looked as if he were the first one here. Sitting down, he decided to simply wait. It wouldn't be too much longer until the rest of the teams arrived. Hayate reached into his pocket to make sure he could still feel the item that he had placed there. Surprisingly, his hand found something else. Pulling the item out, Hayate realized that it was a lollipop. A warm smile touched his face as he unwrapped it and popped it in his mouth.

Closing his eyes, Hayate began focusing his chakra, seeing as he was going to be waiting awhile, he wanted to practice the technique that Kiyomi had shown him. Only this time, he was going to make sure to make the right seal at the end...

Reyna Azuma
Kumo - Team 13

Things were getting difficult quickly. Every second wasted was another second that the poison would be affecting Deidara and Midori, and that wasn't something that Reyna could allow. She noticed the water butterfly attack that the sparrow had just managed to avoid, and realized that Deidara must be with her now. A sense of relief flooded through her, and Reyna surged forwards attempting to catch Michi once again.

Before she could launch another attack however, the bird dove into a large crowd of people. Reyna paused, cursing to herself. There was no way that she would be able to find Michi in that crowd... Realizing once again that she wasn't alone, Reyna quickly came up with an idea. "Deidara-san, please watch the area above the crowd and be prepared to strike if you see Michi come up. I... I am going to try and drive him out. We will have to be quick though, that sparrow seems to have more than a few tricks up its feathers." She didn't bother turning to look for her teammate. Reyna already knew that he was more than capable of handling himself.

Looking out over the crowd, she hesitated for only a moment. What she was about to do would not hurt anyone... at least not seriously. But it would definitely stun the bird if it hit him. Closing her eyes so that it didn't feel like she was about to launch an attack at a crowd of innocent people, Reyna steeled herself for what she would have to do to save her friends.

Gathering her Lightning Aura, Reyna built up a steady current. She had to be careful here. If she made it too strong, it would actually hurt the people in the crowd, and that would be far worse than anything that she wanted. However, if she made it too weak, it would not spread throughout the crowd, and Michi would be able to escape with the antidotes. Focusing intensely, Reyna approached the crowd and spread her arms. Suddenly, a current of light blue lightning shot out from all around her. It travelled immediately to the people in front of her and, to her relief, began arcing out throughout the crowd. The lightning formed a sort of net that would travel throughout the area, using the people as conductors. She had managed to tone down the strength of the current so that all it would feel like to most people would be a small pinch, followed by a tingling numbness. The current would have a much stronger effect on the small sparrow however, as the creature was small enough that the concentrated lightning would hopefully be enough to stun it entirely. That all relied on the current actually managing to hit the bird though, and Reyna only hoped that her spontaneous plan would work.

If it failed... If the sparrow managed to evade the lightning... Reyna didn't want to think about that. For now she would focus on controlling the current, and trust that Deidara would keep an eye out for Michi if the bird surfaced above the crowd.

Konoha Team 7
Kensuke Nimatsu

Arriving at Trainingfield 2 where Kiyomi had decided to gather Team 2 and Team 7, he noticed Hayate Hyuzu sitting on the ground, probably meditating. Dragging himself towards the boy he couldn't help thinking of the countless times he had arrived first at a trainingfield like this, waiting for his squad, team 4, to arrive. Sadly, those days were over. It was an unlucky coincidence that this new mission followed immediately after the previous one, but more importantly, the news of his team's death. The 3 other shinobi that had been his best and only real friends for his entire life inside Konoha. It was a bit of an ironic coincidence. While he was doing his first mission of teaching youngsters of the importance of working together, fighting in such a way that your teammates and friends would not get harmed, his old team was wiped from existance, despite their nigh flawless teamwork.

"Good morning Hayate-san."

Kensuke greeted the boy before leaning against a tree. Only visible to the rare few people still alive that knew him very well his eyes had gotten a weary and tired look. It was a minor detail, and hidden very well in a steel facade of calmness, but it was there nonetheless. He had refused to fall into the depression again he had fought, his friends had fought so hard to get him out, to continue living as his friends would have wanted him to, but he still felt as if a part had been ripped out of him. Looking at the arena of nature surrounding them, he kept trying to keep his thoughts from wandering on the painful subject of his friends, an impossible task.

Team 7, Shisen Inuzuka

Shisen and Arashi arrived at the training field, seeing Kiyomi and Hayate there along with another person she did not recognize. A second later, she also noticed her sensei, Kensuke and raised an eye brow slightly. Arashi who was not so comfortable with this many people that she barely knew and one that she did not even know, began to growl. Pacing back and forth as Shisen neared Kiyomi, trotting up to her and whining at the proximity between everyone. Dropping her hand, Shisen ran down the length of Arashi's back to calm the ninkens nerves and hopefully avoid anyone trying to agitate her. "Morning Kensuke-Sensei, Kiyomi, Hayate, Shisen greeted calmly.

Going to stand a bit further from there for Arashi's sake and their sake, she sighed and waited for the reason they were meeting up to be announced to them. She still looked tired, a bit unsettled and restless as she waited for the next thing. Arashi was quite restless as well, growling every now and then, her eyes narrowed at everyone but Shisen.

Hayate Hyƫzu
Konoha Genin - Team 2

A single eye popped open as he heard Kensuke's voice. Hayate had just finished the last seal for the technique and he could feel something different in the air around him. Smiling at the appearance of Team Seven's sensei, Hayate spoke. "Good to see you again Kensuke-sama." He was about to say more, but was distracted by the arrival of Kiyomi and Leo. Standing to his feet, the lollipop still hanging out of his mouth, Hayate smiled and waved. Seeing Leo running towards him, Hayate's grin widened. It was good to see his old friend again. He took a step forwards before he noticed the new arrivals. Turning his head he saw Shisen and Arashi enter the field. He was still reserved around the ninken, especially after their last mission, but he nodded politely in the two's direction. "Good morning Shisen-san." He wasn't sure if it was appropriate to address the ninken as well and so he held back.

Keiko Moto
Ready to kick some ass.

She zipped up the pale green flak jacket over her black, sleeveless shirt. With that done, the young woman strapped her shuriken and kunai pouches to her waistline, using the belt around her green shorts to hold them up. A tattoo of a tiger could be seen on the outside of her right thigh, barely poking out from underneath her shorts. Next came the black fingerless gloves, which she made sure fit nice and snug. Then came the boots. After lacing up the black boots, she tapped her right foot against the tile floor, testing the studded metal plate attached to the bottom of the boot. She brushed her long, red hair aside, before tying her leaf headband across the top of her forehead. Since her hair was so long, she tied it up into a pony tail to compensate a little bit. The final step: securing her blade. She tilted her head, to let her ponytail drift to the side, keeping it out of the way as she strapped her katana across her back. The silver flame on the saya was covered by the red hair once she brought her head upright again. Turning around, the young woman grinned into the reflection of her own green eyes. Keiko Moto was ready for action.
The lobby to the Hokage's Office was where most missions were assigned. At any given time, there was a line of shinobi attending several stations that each would hand out appropriate missions. Each station consisted of a desk with a shinobi behind it and often large stacks of paper and files next to him. At this point in time, two of the stations had no attendants or papers, leaving only five stations for hopeful shinobi to take jobs. Though the large room was fairly busy, it was far from packed. On this day in particular it would seem that not many shinobi were taking missions. Though the atmosphere was professional, the ambience of the room was fairly noisy since some of the shinobi had begun conversing. Suddenly, a loud crash was heard and the two front doors swung wide open, both hitting the walls behind them.

"I'm back, bitches!"

All eyes in the room turned to the entrance, giving them sight of Keiko Moto, dressed in her jounin gear. She adorned a confident grin on her face as she swaggered into the room, letting the front doors slowly swing closed behind herself. The temporary silence was broken by Keiko chuckling as she walked past the line and directly to a newly opened station. The shinobi behind it, a man that appeared as young as Keiko and wore glasses, let out a groan of disdain. "Keiko... I thought you were taking an extended leave to take care of your daughter," the man said, giving her a look of irritation.

Keiko's grin shifted to a smirk. "I was. But Akira offered to babysit her so I could get back to working. Since it gives her something to do, I obliged. And here I am," Keiko explained, before sitting halfway on the desk. This seemed to irritate the man even further. "Well, I am sorry to inform you that we don't have any missions available of your... caliber," he began, already rubbing his temple. This seemed to displease Keiko, and she crossed her arms over her chest. "No fucking way. There is always an A-rank mission laying around. You didn't even look through the files!" He let out a sigh, before shaking his head. "I already know because I gave out the last one earlier today. But..." The man leaned back and took three files out of the desk itself, rather than from the stack of files next to him.

"A new team was formed. The original jounin-sensei cannot make it as he received a crippling injury yesterday from his mission. If you're up to the task, we need a sensei." Keiko brought one of her hands up to her chin and thought about it. The man chuckled a bit to himself, most likely imagining how she would even lead a team. But after a moment, Keiko shrugged and snatched the files from his hand. "I'll do it." This seemed to surprise him, and he took a moment to recompose himself. "R-really? Are you sure you want to lead a team?" Keiko was about to open one of the files, but suddenly shifted her gaze toward the bespectacled man. He could see as her irises changed from the vivid green to a bright red. "What's wrong with me leading a team?" she asked, her voice clearly conveying that she took offense to his words.

"N-n-nothing, of course! It's just that I never imagined you to be the... sensei type," the man explained, leaning back somewhat in his chair to get more space from the red-haired woman. With a scoff, Keiko looked back at the file she was opening. "Then there we go. Okay listen up, Ryuichi..." Keiko began, still looking over the files. "I'm gonna need you to send out a message to these kids to meet at Training Field One at... exactly ten o' clock. And I'm also gonna need a D-rank mission." The man, Ryuichi, gulped. "Uh, don't you think you should give the kids a bit more time? After all, that's only in thirty minutes and this will be a bit of a sudden announcement to them..."

Keiko's eyes glared at him, though she continued to face away from him and toward the files. "It will be plenty of time for them to make it. Get the message out for me. If any of them are late because your messengers were late then I'll just train them on the roof of this building." The man put his elbows on the desk and leaned forward, rubbing his temples. "You aren't allowed to do that..." The young woman let out another scoff, before turning her eyes back to the papers. "Whatever. Just send the damn messages before you piss me off." At the threat of her being angry, the man bolted upright and nodded. "Yes, Keiko. They'll get the message." Her red irises changed back to the original green and a surprisingly innocent smile formed on her lips. "Good."
There was a clearing surrounded by dense forest. The green grass swayed softly from the gentle breeze. In the exact center of the training field was a large boulder, that was easily over two meters tall. The top of it was shaped perfectly for someone of Keiko's height to lay down. So as she waited for her new students to arrive, that was exactly what she did. Her red ponytail hung down the side of the boulder and would move slightly with the breeze. But while she may have been laying down out of laziness and a desire to be comfortable, she was scanning over the files that the mission center had given her. Or rather: one file. The other two were nowhere to be found. And as Keiko finished reading the file, it suddenly ignited into a flame, starting from where her hands were holding it. In a matter of seconds, the file was reduced to ashes that fell on Keiko's chest. After promptly wiping them off onto the boulder, Keiko let out a sigh and propped her head slightly by putting her hands behind it. She was starting to get bored.

Mirai Inazuma

The Inazuma household was awash with the sound of clanging steel and dashing feet. As it had been the previous morning. And the morning before that too. It was their ritual, to awake early, attend to their menial tasks quickly, and proceed to exercise until it was time for father and daughter to part ways. Though Raiden and Mirai went through the motions like any other day, today was in fact special. It was time for Mirai to join a team in full. Nothing they were doing marked the occasion, but Raiden was certainly glowing with pride underneath his expression of intense focus. After a while, the Inazuma's training came to an end, and there they stood, recovering from their exertion, and also in the midst of a somewhat awkward silence.

".....I was expecting your new Sensei's call to come sooner than this. I hope they are not of the lazy variety." Raiden began to shuffle around, not entirely sure what to do with the lull in activity. He wished to be there to confirm his daughter's departure, but the moment had yet to arrive. "Very well, I shall speak. Stand at attention, Mirai."

"Yes, father." She stood up straight.

"You know that I always expect the best of you. And while the academy was no exception, now is the time for you to truly define your strength for the village, and perhaps the world to witness. It will be a long journey to reach a place of significance in the eyes of others, but I am sure you will succeed. I groomed you since birth for this very purpose. When you leave, you will make both me and your mother proud, correct, Mirai?"

"Yes, father!" Mirai stated with conviction.

"Good. Very good. Now, if only...."

"Excuse me, I have an urgent message for Mirai Inazuma."

"Perfect!" Raiden exclaimed. This was what they had been waiting for this whole time.

"You are to report Training Field One in....less than thirty minutes. I know it seems tight, but we couldn't exactly argue with..."

"Pah! Mirai could cartwheel around the Hokage Monument and back again and still make it in time. But don't do that, MIrai. Simply make your way now. Make me and your mother proud."

"Yes, father!" Mirai bolted out the door the moment he was finished. Her speed would carry her quickly to her destination. Upon arrival, she quickly made out the visage of the red-headed women that she assumed was her new teacher, the possibility of some bothersome trick or test aside. It seemed she was lying upon a boulder. Mirai would certainly never laze around in such a fashion, but she was not one to judge. Mirai approached and saluted the woman, stating "Mirai Inazuma, ready for instructions, Sensei."

Tatsuya had his head dug into the books at the library, taking notes in his scrolls. There were several books scattered around the desk he was sitting on. He muttered to himself once every few moments, making a mental note. It was technically one of the two days he didn't have to be there, but he decided to try and get used to the schedule. It's not like studying more would hurt him. He'd slept early the night before to be able to get up around five. He would normally read about the Village itself but since he was there at his own expense, he decided to look up something more interesting for him. While he was continuing his research with his eyes filled with fatigue, he heard someone open the door to the library. Tatsuya leaned back on his chair, glancing over to the shinobi inside the library. They locked eyes for a moment and the man studied the boy. He started walking over. Tatsuya almost fell off his chair, thinking he had done something wrong and needed to escape for a split second. The feeling quickly disappeared and he watched as the man got closer. There weren't many people the shinobi had to look at at the library at this hour who fit Tatsuya's description.

"Tatsuya Hon?"

The boy nodded and turned his body to the man. "Yes sir?"

"I have an urgent message from your newly assigned Jonin instructor. You are to meet her on Field 1 by 10. I suggest you hurry, you don't want to be late..." The man had a slightly grim tone as he spoke. He then vanished into thin air, leaving some smoke.

10... How much time...? He said I should hurry so it's probably almost time. Good thing I'm near the training fields. Tatsuya thought to himself, getting up from his chair. He hid the books he'd collected under the desk and grabbed his scrolls, putting them into one of his pouches.

After walking out of the building, he started running. He had no intention on being late. First impressions are always important. He arrived at the field in a minute or two and stood in front of who he'd figured out to be his new sensei. He stood in front of her with a straightened and respectful pose. "Tatsuya Hon, present, sensei!"

Hyuuga Ezuri

After the young Hyuuga boy scoured all of Konoha and its outskirts in search of the members of team 2 and 7 and delivered them te note Kiyomi wrote he returned to the trainingsfield they were supposed to meet up. Only to find that everyone was there already. He greeted everyone in a formal manner "Konichiwa Kensuke-sensei, Kiyomi-chan, Hayate-san and Shisen-san..." then he noticed another boy he did not recognize and walked up to him "Hi, I am Ezuri, nice to meet you"

Katsuko Moto
One last day to live...

The orange-haired teenager put his hands in his pockets. He was still reflecting on what happened earlier. Tomorrow, he would be a Ghost ANBU. That means that everyone has to think he died. Including his family. Considering his father died not even a year ago, Katsuko couldn't imagine how much pain his family would go through if he were to die as well. He had already passed the village gate and was walking along the dirt road to the Moto Estate. I need a plan, Katsuko began thinking. I'll tell them that I'm going on a very tough mission tonight. The news of my death will be more believable that way. I just hope Keiko doesn't do something rash. I hope Mom doesn't cry...

He let out a sigh, closing his eyes as he walked. I'm not actually dying, but it will be the same sort of thing. I won't get to see my loved ones again. But... He opened his eyes. His irises were no longer violet. They were red. Why? He glanced around the trees as he walked, making sure he wasn't being followed. They have been watching. But why? It doesn't make any sense. Katsuko stopped walking and took a deep breath. Our tasks surely will be underhanded. This isn't typical mission work. The Hokage is putting us on the political field. We'll be doing missions that matter to the well-being of the village. But...

The teenager let out a shout of frustration, slamming his fist into the nearest tree. The trunk was absolutely shattered upon impact, bringing the tree down sideways and narrowly missing Katsuko as it fell. Why does it have to be like this!? He brought his fist back, before taking a few deep breaths to calm himself down. Now think, Katsuko. It's clear that I won't be doing anything nice in the future. This isn't for helping people, it's for keeping the village safe. But... that can be done without having to hurt our own people. This is something more sinister. Could this be what Dad warned me about? Katsuko thought about it for a second. I'm not sure. So far, I only have assumptions to go off of. I could be wrong. But my instincts are telling me this is all bad.

And my instincts are never wrong.

Katsuko thought a moment longer, before putting his hands back in his pockets and continuing his walk home. He had to hop over the fallen tree, but it made little difference to him. They obviously want us for our skills. Yumi may be stealthy, but the rest of us aren't. In fact, we're loud and boistorous. And destructive. So they want us for taking people out. Are we a hit squad? Up ahead, Katsuko could see the walls of the Moto Estate and the mansion poking out behind them. No. It's not that simple or she would've outright said it. What we are is insurance. That's right. To keep things in line... Once he reached the gate, Katsuko took another breath to calm down. Gently, he opened the large wooden gate and even took the care to close it behind him. I think I get it now. Katsuko continued walking, sparing a glance at the dojo he and his father had built. This was the reason Dad didn't want to become Hokage.

Without knocking or anything of the sort, as it was his own home, Katsuko opened the front door and strolled right in. His red eyes toned down to a blue color and his frown vanished. "I'm home!" Katsuko called out, stopping by the front door. Rather quickly, a white cat appeared down the hallway and strolled up to him, rubbing against his leg. He reached down and petted Hana a bit, before standing upright and walking into the living room. Finally, his mother called back. "So soon? I thought you were seeing your team for a mission." Since she wasn't yelling, it was evident she was just in the kitchen nearby. "We had a meeting. Tonight we'll be leaving to go on an S-rank mission. I'll tell you all about it when I get back." He felt guilty for saying that, but he knew he had to put up an act.

There was a silence, before Akira appeared at the doorway, leaning against it with her arms crossed. "An S-rank mission? You be careful, Kat." He chuckled a bit and rubbed the back of his head. "You know me. Nothing to worry about. It isn't my first rodeo." Despite the grin on his face, his mother seemed to not be buying it. "Young man, you better promise me you'll be fine. I'm getting old and you don't need to be making me worry." Katsuko's grin vanished as he looked at his mother. She could see his irises turn to a violet color. "I promise I'll be come back just fine," he told her. A smile formed on her face. "Good." As she turned away back into the kitchen, Katsuko felt a pang of guilt. Before he could sit down, the white cat jumped onto the couch, waiting for him to continue petting her.

He chuckled a bit as he sat down, and the cat immediately hopped onto his lap. "You always act like you thought I'd never come back," Katsuko said, his voice somewhat low so his mother wouldn't hear. As he began scratching the cat behind the ears, she began to purr. "You should know better than that by now." Of course, the cat said nothing back and simply kept enjoying the attention. But Katsuko leaned back into the couch a bit more and continued thinking. What am I going to do about Hana? She'll hear the news and the first thing she'll do is try to reverse summon herself. Once that works, she'll probably try to tell Mom that I'm alive. But I can't let her do that. I think she's going to have to stay with me while I'm in the Ghost ANBU. But then again... that really leaves Mom alone...

A scowl formed on Katsuko's face, but he let out a sigh and it vanished with it. Maybe this is just a plot to get my mom to commit suicide. For fuck's sake... Katsuko looked down as the cat rolled over. It was clear she wanted him to rub her belly. As he obliged, his attention went back to his thoughts. I don't see a way out of this. I wasn't given one from the start. Even if I did get myself out, they might threaten Mom. They could threaten Keiko too, but that would go bad. Threatening Keiko doesn't go well, and she has the Hon clan backing her up now. But... if Keiko somehow knew that Mom was in danger, she would be perfectly capable of protecting her from any threats. I don't see why Keiko would think she is in danger right now though... Meisa is a smart bitch.

Just as Katsuko came to that conclusion, he heard a poof sound and his hand felt skin instead of fur. As he looked down, his expression was one of surprise. "Why aren't you wearing any clothes again!?" The small woman chuckled a bit, but didn't do anything to get off Katsuko's lap. "I thought you were going to be gone all day so it wouldn't matter. But I have som-" Katsuko looked away as he interrupted her. "You do this everyday when I'm gone!?" Hana thought about it for a moment. "Not every day. But listen, Katsuko. I heard you talking about going on a tough mission. You think I should tag along?" Katsuko glanced down, just far enough to see Hana's face. "That won't be necessary, especially if you're going to refuse to wear your clothes. But don't worry, if I need you I can always summon you. Only takes me a second."

His response seemed to displease her, but in a puff of smoke she was once again a housecat. With a sigh, and then a chuckle, Katsuko went back to rubbing her belly. "I guess some things will never change," he said, before chuckling a bit. Then he heard his mother laughing from the kitchen. "She's not the only example of that, Katsuko!" Akira called out. This earned a look of irritation, before he let it slide and began to laugh himself. "I guess you're right!" he called back. As his laughing died down, he looked back down at Hana. What if Meisa wants to put a seal on her, too? That crazy witch will. But... if Hana just stays like this, Meisa won't care about her. She'd probably argue and say it's pointless to bring a pet along, but there would be no way she could find out what Hana can do... unless... Damnit. She's probably been watching. I forgot about that. Crap.

Another sigh escaped Katsuko. Sometimes I wish I was as smart as Dad. He'd find a way out of this. He always knew what to do. There's got to be a way. I can't be condemned like this. I'll never accomplish my dream like this. This isn't a force for good at all. What would Dad do...? Katsuko began to think hard, bringing his free hand up to his chin. He heard another poof, and this time he didn't even look down. "Whatcha thinkin' about?" Hana asked him innocently. "The mission. And if you're going to keep doing that you should put some clothes on." He heard a scoff. "No." Another poof and when Katsuko looked down, she was a cat again. "I bet even if other cats could do what you do, they wouldn't be such exhibitionists." The cat looked up to him now, seemingly confused. "Going around naked all the time," he clarified. With that new word added to her vocabulary, Hana lay back down again to accept her belly rub.
The sun was beginning to set now. Dusk over the Moto Estate was always beautiful. As Katsuko stood at the open front door, with a bag of clothes and such strapped to his back, he looked upon the orange sky. He had told his mother that his team would be operating in the dark, which is why he was leaving at this hour. The cover story was all set up. Meisa didn't ask him to do it, but he knew it would be the smart thing to do. And in the end, it allowed him to have one last dinner with his mother. He let out a sigh as he began to step outside. But before he could take a second step, he felt a hand on his shoulder.

Turning his head slightly, he saw that his mother somehow snuck up on him. "Kat," she began. Her voice already sounded sad. Could she possibly know, despite his act? "You make everything sound better than it really is. Just like your father used to. But I know S-rank missions are dangerous, even for someone as skilled as you. Please... make it home safe." His mother was only slightly shorter than him, so the difference in height between the front door and the ground allowed them to be eye level. The two looked into each other's eyes for a moment, before Katsuko entirely turned around to face her. "I will, Mom. I promised, didn't I?" With that, she embraced her son in a hug. "You did, and I believe you." Katsuko returned the hug, holding his mother tightly. It was difficult to act like he would be coming home tomorrow. He knew this was all a lie, and that when she was informed she would be devastated.

Katsuko was the one to break up the hug, taking a step back. Though his irises were violet, he gave his mother a grin and a thumbs up. "I never go back on my word." A smile formed on her face. Katsuko had never really thought about it before, but despite the fact his mother was forty-two years old, she still looked relatively young. Her blonde hair made it difficult to see any gray hairs she may have. In fact, he didn't know if she even had any. Jinkama had always said this, but now Katsuko realized it was a fact: his mother was a beautiful woman. But this face, the face of the woman that raised him and loved him unconditionally... This will be the last time I see it.

Still maintaining his grin, Katsuko turned around and began walking. His mother remained at the front door, leaning against the doorway. Next to her feet, the white cat appeared, also watching Katsuko as he walked to the gate. Once at the wooden gate, Katsuko took one last look back. His mother was still smiling, entirely believing in his return. His grin faded, but he made sure that they couldn't see it from their angle. With one last wave, he opened the gate and walked through, leaving his house behind. Once the large wooden gate shut closed behind him, he let out a sigh and looked up at the sky. It's hard to believe. He remained standing in the same spot, looking up to see the stars starting to appear as the sky began to grow darker. No. Suddenly, his irises turned red and he clenched a fist. This isn't my fate. Dad always said there's no such thing. I'm still in control of my own life. He continued looking up into the sky, his fist beginning to shake now from how tightly he was clenching it. I will prove Meisa wrong. The Hokage. The whole village. I will control my future. Not them. This is only the start. The ground beneath Katsuko began to crack slightly.

I'm not dead.

Kiyomi Sato-Hon,
Konohagakure Jounin-sensei of Team 2,
Hokage-Apprentice.

A briefing of Kiyomi.

''Listen everybody.'' Kiyomi's voice sounded rather stern and cold as she spoke up. She crossed her arms out front of her chest as she had noticed that almost everybody was here. ''Everybody, I will just say this once, so you better listen up. I hate to repeat myself and if I need to, you won't like it. Not at all.'' There was some pressure building up. A literal pressure. It seemed the air itself became heavier, like breathing costed more effort. Kiyomi narrowed her eyes a bit as she would wait. Then the pressure seemed to vanish slowly. Kensuke, Hayate and Leo would likely knew what it had been all too well. Killing Intent and a lot of it.

''The mission we are sent on is going to start once I have started this. So I want everybody to pay attention.'' Kiyomi started. Waiting for another moment, there would be something dropping out of the sky. Right at Kiyomi's flank, some big landed. ''Kenta Kohaku, reporting for duty, Lady Kiyomi-sama!!'' The dust prevented any sign of who had landed behind Kiyomi. Not looking back, her hair was moving due the gust. Luckily he had it in a ponytail, so that she wouldn't be blinded by her own hair. ''Good. Now we are all here.'' Kiyomi said, on a softer tone. The dust settled as it would reveal a big man. He rose up from his crouched stance, easily towering over Kiyomi. ''Everybody...this is-''

Suddenly, Kenta threw off his vest, revealing the muscles that were once covered by it. ''I am Kenta Kohaku, Konoha's Muscle! Remaining member of Team Tun. Specialized Jounin and Lady Kiyomi's protectooooooooorrrr!''

Suddenly, lightning crackled through the air. It was just a few flickers, but the warning was louder than probably the roar of thunder. ''So that means we are all here. Kenta will reinforce the teams as both Team 2 as Team 7 are lacking one member to make a full team. I have also requested him, because I have seen him at work before. But the briefing.'' Kiyomi glanced at the genins. It lasted for a few moments, but the once bright green eyes were dark now. She wasn't going to give anybody a smile or some easy time. Not while they had a very serious mission planned. Not on a mission like this.

''We have been ordered to start a search and investigation at an old bunker. The area around it has been disturbed by what are either bandits or a small group of rogues. This means that we have to work cautiously, as the intel on the possible hostile forces are vague. If it are bandits, I would request that nobody gets too eager.'' Kiyomi turned her focus most on team 7. ''I have heard that even a group of nin has had trouble before with were common bandits. I am not going to accept anybody that falls out of line or doesn't follow up an order.'' The heavy pressure slowly was starting to come back. ''Team 2 has agreed to work and cooperate with Team 7, but as one of the leaders of this mission, I am going to make this as clear as possible. Any idiot that wants to be a hero can sit his or her ass down here. Any kind of scared kitty cat can do that as well. This mission is classified as at lowest a C ranked mission and at highest a B ranked one.'' Pausing, she kept glancing at the genins of Team 7. ''Though Team 2 genins know this all too well, the rules haven't changed. Nobody will fall out of line or act out of orders. Those who will shall be receiving punishment for doing so. Now that is said. We are going.'' Turning around, Kiyomi made a signal with her left hand. Raising it up, she clenched it into a fist. ''Team 2, cover the left. Team 7, cover the right. Kenta, you in between. I will lead the front....'' Kiyomi looked over her shoulder.
