"That... has probably got to be the most ironic way to prove such a thing," Abaddon chuckled while shaking his head. Least she wasn't asking him to do something completely absurd; this was a request he could and would gladly carry out. Abaddon followed Linia, and though he could have easily flown in the direction she was headed towards, he opted to travel by rooftops for his own amusement. It felt good to be back in human cities again.

Abaddon soon came to the spot where the fish people were attacking. Bodies of law enforcement officers and destroyed vehicles littered the ground, and more were being added to their numbers with each passing minute. There were also some civilians caught in the battle, but thankfully very little. In fact, it seemed that there were no civilians running around in the streets at all, something which was always the case in surprise monster attacks.

"Looks like they evacuated prior to this, meaning these attacks have been an ongoing thing for this city. Okay..."

Abaddon looked down to see Linia expertly slicing monster after monster with her sword. Her skills might have been impressive, but unfortunately for her the sheer number of sea creatures advancing on her would be enough to overwhelm. Abaddon dove off the building and flew directly above her, screeching loudly to distract the fish men as his tendrils coursed with magic and fired off red bolts. The supernatural lightning arced its way through multiple creatures, leaving large and sizzling holes in their bodies. With several of them dead, Linia now had some breathing room and could continue to attack the rest of her enemies with confidence.

Of course, there were plenty more of these sea aberrations left to deal with, but Abaddon would slaughter them all with ease. A phalanx charged towards him, and Abaddon waited for them to get closer to butcher them all in random sequence. Once they were at a certain distance, Abaddon shot multiple shadowy tendrils from his body and impaled the formations forerunners. They slithered through their numbers, piercing through their bodies with ease until all of the unfortunate fishies suffered where they stood.

"Anybody want some sushi?"

The tendrils morphed, becoming wide, serrated blades that butchered the poor creatures on the spot. Gore remained on some of the tendrils as they returned to Abaddon, and he nonchalantly picked sizable chunks of these off to eat as he headed for another team of the aquatic soldiers.

Sheol's waters are in need of more diverse specimens! Drevenon yelled as Abaddon held the leader of one of the groups up by the neck. Surrender to us now and you and your lot shall all avoid a painful demise!

Abaddon "waited" for this particular group to give some sign of compliance. They wouldn't have long though, and he made this clear by sending more tendrils to slowly slither their way...

Guilt's eyes glowed brightly for a few seconds, "This might not make sense...but I feel I can keep my sister out of harms way...if I'm with you..." He knelt on one knee, "I am yours to command." Guilt suddenly looked up as his sensors started going wild, "There is an attack going on near the water front...an Atlantean army is invading the streets killing everything in their path...the police force is being overwhelmed."

Alice was so amazed by Cinia's powers, "That was so cool!!!" Alice went to hug Cinia but then she remembered what Dr Lancaster had told her about personal space, "Your powers are awesome..." Suddenly Alice's eyes went wide as her sensors lit up, "Oh no..." She looked almost horrified, "There is an army invading from the ocean...The police are getting killed...they need our help!" She turned to Cinia, "The city is in serious danger...we have to do something..."

Thasseldar nodded at Clark and called Hanson in.

"What?" Hanson said as he came into the room.

"Let this guy go off wherever he wants. I have what I want."

Hanson stared a bit. "This guy stabbed you in the leg and has the pretence of an assassin. Let him go?"

Thasseldar stared at him. "'This guy' has failed at his duty, and I don't see the reason for unnecessary bloodshed. If there's a next time, then yes, he's dead on the spot. But for now... I have other things. Such as figuring out the cause of the rather unstable dimensional ties around here."

The last part went over Hanson's head. He nodded while grumbling and freed Clark as Thasseldar walked out of the hotel, just a few blocks away from the fish invasion...

Loyal to the end!!!
The fish person's battle cry caused the group Abaddon was threatening to rush forward with their weapons. It was honestly a VERY stupid move on their part considering they were charging straight into his sharp tendrils. Abaddon reacted by whipping the newly formed blades out violently, dismembering some and stabbing others until this group of sea monsters lay in pieces as well.

"Wow! Just wow, that was completely uncalled for. They could have at least TRIED to die nobly, maybe they could have shot us first and then attacked. Guess they were just that eager to die."

By now, the ranks of the sea creatures had been greatly reduced to few but formidable pockets by the efforts of the metahumans (and some skilled troops). Abaddon had enjoyed the carnage, knowing that there would be more of these things to deal with later down the line. Who knew, maybe he would even catch the attention of fishies' king and get to eat him too! He stopped to observe the other creatures get gunned down or sliced up by Linia's blade, but Abaddon's attention soon turned elsewhere as he sensed a powerful and familiar presence nearby.

@ArenaSnow
Ah, so he's finally decided to show himself. Come, it is time we speak with the Realmswalker on what needs to be dealt with in this plane.

With the other metas busy picking off the other creatures, Abaddon took the opportunity to slip away undetected. He traced Thasseldar's aura of power to a nearby hotel blocks away from the battle zone and found him standing outside. The Realmswalker was obviously scanning the dimensional fields for something, most likely to see if he could pinpoint what had caused the disturbances.

"Hello Thasseldar," Abaddon said as he dropped down in front of him. He reverted to his human form for the sake of other civilians that were likely around. He didn't need or want them fleeing in terror... and he especially didn't feel like getting shot to pieces again.

"Got held up fighting some random sniper, then had to help out in a battle against... Atlanteans? Experiments gone wrong? The vengeful, evolved forms of pet fish that got flushed down toilets? I don't know."

Thasseldar saw Abaddon come down and was mostly glad. Although Abaddon's means he found questionable and sometimes overreactive, he made a good friend and a valuable asset in some of his other missions. He could only hope it would be enough.]

"In other words, business as usual?" Thasseldar gave a hint of a smile.

His observations disturbed him. The realm was not simply out of bounds in a way that would be temporary; nearly every realm had a period where things would be a little chaotic temporarily. This was more... sinister. A deliberate twisting of how things were supposed to work. A twisting that had resulted in more things happening than there should be at the moment. He had felt this before; but he just couldn't pinpoint it.

Soon enough Cinia and the others were at the battle. Cinia took no time as she jumped into the fight floating above Greg and pointing him at small groups of fish people. She was mostly having him stomp all over the fish that were basically reverse mermaids. After awhile Greg was getting into a struggle with what looked like a very very large humanoid whale. "We are having fish tonight!" Cinia yelled out in a battle cry.

Linia meanwhile continued her assault on the fish around her. She heard a rather loud cluck, and turned to see Greg fighting against the whale humanoid. Linia rushed at it and leaped at the back of it's neck. She spun around in mid-air slicing off the back of it's neck greatly weakening it and allowing Greg to bring the entire creature down and then rip into it's skin with it's mighty beak. It was a bit horrify for some to see.

Calamity meanwhile got up and started to walk off away from Guilt. "The Aquatics aren't our problem, they can't get to us up here, I suggest you just take a rest for now and relax while you can." Calamity said as he walked out of the room. He was clearly not in the mood to negotiate anymore, nor was he in the mood to fight either.

"Mostly," Casimir said with a grin. "The sniper was spared from death at the last second by some chick. Maybe you know one of them. She was... bright. Literally, and wore specialized armor and is pretty good with a blade of light. The sniper is a teleporter and is one of the few that can use their powers to see in all directions."

Drevenon observed the dimensional fields of Earth as the two spoke, taking notice of the obvious distortions within the realm. These weren't after effects of their entry into Earth, but were anomalies being caused directly by something else. The entity thought it was time they be informed of what was going on.

Tell us Realmswalker, he said, What has been occurring within this plane that you deemed it necessary to call us here. We doubt that the sea aberrations were of much importance, and I have detected several dimensional anomalies while you two were speaking.

Among the standard run-of-the-mill mutant fish men, there were several more powerful variants. A creature similar in appearance to the Kraken and the size of a small house was levitated on what appeared to be a hover-platform, tentacles ripping apart everything around it. Buildings and vehicles alike were thrown into the air or crushed beneath the creature's massive appendages. A large humanoid whale seemed to be attempting to throttle a giant chicken (why was there a giant chicken anyway?), before the girl from before dealt a decisive blow. The sudden appearance of an ethereal shield to block a hail of bullets from the local police indicated the presence of at least one Fishman with arcane capabilities. Powers were in no way limited solely to humans, after all.

Whilst the initial force had been defeated with ease, they had been little more than grunts. Barely armed and armoured, small in size and large in number. A scour force of relatively weak foot soldiers to test Davenport's defenses. Now, more heavily armed and armoured figures could be seen in the chaos below. Several wore power armour, wielding weapons that fired streams of water at supersonic speeds. These HydroLaunchers were capable of slicing through flesh and stone, and this was demonstrated to rather devastating effect. Larger sea creatures, backed by higher tech weaponry and more serious firepower. It wouldn't be long before the supers on the ground started noticing the difference, as they finished off the first wave of easy kills.

From his perch high above, the Warp Spider maintained a supporting role. He couldn't get too close for fear of getting hit by one of those attacks - unlike many of his colleagues, his resistance to damage was rather unimpressive. But in redirecting attacks aimed at allies and picking off some of what appeared to be the leader caste with Fullbore he was able to augment his team's chances significantly. Many of the armoured fish found their gear teleported away, although there was very little Shiro could do about the magic or the kaiju. This was clearly not just a skirmishing force, it was an army. Whomever was behind this had every intent of claiming this city, and would do so by barging straight through it's superhuman inhabitants.

Thasseldar sighed.

"Two issues in particular; one may require me to bring assets in that would be overkill for anything else."

"Besides the horde of what seems to be fishes that I hear yelling and gurgling about, there is a certain demigod from an alternate dimension who needs a permanant solution. I had created a very temporary solution to him that resulted in me having to continue on to this world, due to his unbalancing."

"The second issue, and the deeper one, I only know off of interactions with my elders and those of considerable seniority to me. I believe there is a being capable of modifying the nature of dimensions themselves... one who is a bit higher level than the typical guardians of a given dimension, and a higher level in that it can undo whatever protectors here have ever done. I would need to bring in an associate for that, but for now, onto the matter at hand."

Just as he said that, he spotted an oversized serpant-thing coming down the main road to his left, slithering and hissing while cars were shoved to the side as though they meant nothing.

"This matter could have been caused by anything from the dimensional troubles to a hidden nation of beings that have decided to attack now, but whatever the case, I think the city would be better off without oversized and overextending sushi wrecking the place."

Interesting, I am certain that our combined efforts will deal with the demigod problem with ease. The Guardian however... Casimir and I have some experience with beings capable of such a feat, but we are not arrogant enough to deny they are worthy and dangerous adversaries.

Drevenon and Casimir would have like to get more information out of Thasseldar, but their meeting was cut short by the roars of large monsters marking the beginning of the sea creatures true onslaught. One of the monster's heads loomed over the buildings, appearing as a giant whale that... was soon getting attacked by a giant ass chicken. What. The. Hell.

"Well that's new..."

Casimir saw a new battalion of sea creatures march in their direction. These were different from the aberrations he had killed earlier as they appeared to be tougher, larger, and equipped with much better armor and weaponry. Some of them even seemed to have special powers of their own, evidenced by their attempts at intimidation by knocking aside objects without touching them and firing beams of unknown energies from their hands. And to top things off, these guys were backed up by their very own sea serpent!

"Oh yeah," Casimir said with a grin as dark energy and black ooze engulfed him. "This just got interesting!"

Abaddon once more, he ascended into the air as he prepared for another round of EXTREME!!! fishing.

"Which do you want to deal with? The troops or their pet?" He asked Thasseldar.

Not waiting for a response (as per usual), Abaddon swung one of his arms out forward, releasing a row of red bolts to blast the frontline with.

Cinia finished her assault with the giant whale creature as it was ripped to shreds by Greg. "Right then, onto those guys!" Cinia said as she pointed towards another group of enemies. Greg stomped on many of the weaker foes as the others got buy just fine. Cinia meanwhlie was dodging lasers shot at her in the air. She was able to dodge most of them, but eventually she was shot out of the sky and flew towards Thesseldr. Greg still struggling with other creatures.

Linia in the meantime continued her assault against what looked to be a rather large group of shark men now, each of them with their own pikes from the look of it. Linia was starting to get overwhelmed now. She flashed every now and then to give herself a bit of an advantage over them. Eventually, though she was getting progressivly more damaged the more she fought.

Zelan ordered his troops from one spot to another. He was certainly a leader, and due to him being there morale among his troops were huge. "We will take the land! Make them pay for what they have done to our home!!" Zelan screamed, his troops cheered as they continued to fight. They were certainly loyal. Zelan had taken down two supers at this point, neither of them stood a chance as they were just lowly vigilantes. Zelan was moving closer and closer to the center of the city. He was now at the head of his troops leading a charge past barricades placed.

Your pathetic armors are useless before us!

Abaddon swung his arms repeatedly at the sea creatures, unleashing volley after volley of dark magical spears upon their numbers. It didn't even matter if they hit their mark or not, all that he cared about was breaking up their formations to make it easier to pick them off. He was making progress, with some of the troops getting skewered and others scattering out of place for cover. Thasseldar could deal with the runaways... or rather he could have if it weren't for that giant goddamned sea serpent! That thing was getting to be a pain in the ass really really fast, and the longer it lived, the more destruction it caused. There was also the matter of those fish men with special abilities; they had mounted their counter attacks against him, firing off beams of energy and casting magic which exploded around him to ensure some damage was done even if he dodged it. Abaddon needed a new way to deal with these guys...

"Oh, right, I can do that."

What he was planning would surely instill chaos within their orders. Abaddon spread his claws apart from each other, a dark tear in space appearing in front of him as he did this. An increasingly loud buzzing noise could be heard from it.

"Come, children of my swarm!"

The moment he uttered these words, a dense swarm of demonic locusts came pouring forth from the portal. These were larger and much different than ordinary locusts (no shit), possessing scorpion tails, clawed feet, and vaguely humanoid faces with mouths lined with sharp teeth. With a ravenous hunger they flew towards their masters attackers, washing over them and obscuring them from vision. The fish men screamed in pain and terror as they were viciously stabbed, scratched, and bitten.

"You know what's probably even scarier about these little guys," Abaddon laughed as he took to the skies to observe their work, "They can get bigger!"

And that they could. Of course, Abaddon wouldn't release such monstrosities into the world for something as simple as this. Maybe a few, like three or four just to fuck with people, but never a full on swarm...

...

The locusts continued to swarm over the advancing troops, Abaddon orchestrating their movements from above. Even the sea serpent was attacked, although it was not so easily brought down by the swarm. At the very least it was being hurt and distracted, giving Thasseldar an easier time to deal with it. Plus, the amount of sea creatures trying to overrun them was being lessened by the locusts, but even their numbers began to dwindle as the fish men began to vaporize them.

Abaddon soon caught sight of Linia slashing furiously at attacking sea creatures. She was keeping them at bay, but it was only a matter of time before she got run over, and she looked to be getting hurt and winded the more she fought.

"... He's a Realmswalker, he can handle himself. Locusts! Aid my ally!"

With that Abaddon flew to Linia's location (which wasn't really too far away from where he was), taking a part of the swarm with him. Once there, he ordered them to attack the monsters there. Though this portion of locusts wasn't nearly as large enough as to overrun a large group, it was enough to help Linia get some breathing room. Abaddon himself landed on the ground and repeated what he had done earlier in the same situation, causing lightning to arc through their enemies' bodies.

"Still think I'm here to kill you all?" He laughed.

Thasseldar looked as Abaddon went off to another section of the city.

"Wonderful. Serpant and crew, coming right up..." by now, they were just down the block and rapidly approaching the lone figure on the road.

There is... one thing...

He attempted to telepathically communicate with Abaddon. It worked one way in that Thasseldar did not have the ability naturally, but someone such as Abaddon would pick it up. Hopefully.

I would like for you to create an invisible, linkless portal directly in front of the largest cluster of enemies you are engaged with facing in their direction. I'll do the rest.

With that in mind, Thasseldar created a portal just as he described in front of him. The difficulty could come if Abaddon didn't create a portal in his section, because what he was about to do counted on good timing and possibly luck. If it failed, well, he would have to redirect the link to some desolate part of the sea before he was crushed by the bodies that would make it through the empty space before it was active...

Abaddon picked up Thasseldar's message as he fought. A linkless portal huh? Abaddon didn't even know if he could create such a thing as he had only ever used portals to travel to Sheol and other dimensions. He attempted it, only for the head of a fully grown demon locust to emerge and attempt to crawl its way out. He ordered it back immediately and closed the rift.

"Well that worked well..."

Maybe there was one thing that could still be done to put Thasseldar's plan into motion. Abaddon scanned the rooftops for Shiro and spotted him acting as support from above. Hopefully the teleporter would listen and not just think he was there to continue their fight.

@thewizardguy "You, an ally of mine has a plan for dealing with the battalions en masse. He needs you to create an 'invisible, linkless portal' before the largest group of soldiers there is! Hurry, he doesn't have much time."

Shiro glared at the demon that had appeared behind him. He had been offhandedly observing Abbadon's actions from afar, but he hadn't the concentration to do so with any regularity. From what he'd seen, however, the demon appeared to be fighting on their side. Whatever the reason behind this, it didn't sit well with Shiro. The idea that a demon would act in an altruistic manner contradicted everything the veteran knew, and he certainly didn't like surprises.

"I don't know how to create any such thing. If you haven't noticed, my portals are very much linked, and ususally quite visible." Shiro was half tempted to tell the demon to go tell it's pal where it could stuff it's portal. But there were too many lives at stake here for him to give voice to what his stubborn pride demanded. He would investigate this issue later, when there was less urgency. "What are you trying to do? I might be able to help." The question wasn't posed to Abbadon, but rather at Tasseldar. A portal had opened next to Shiro's mouth, and he was using it much like a phone. Projecting his voice across long distances.

Cinia landed a bit of the ways off. She was able to recover before she hit the ground thankfully, though she was mad now, and her powers weren't exactly hers to control at this point. "This isn't it, This isn't how I let this city die!!!" Cinia yelled, as she did this about five magic circles appeared around her, out of each of them came, wait, Emus? Yes they were indeed emu's Cinia had been focusing on trying to summon heavier live stock that she hadn't considered more flightless birds, and Emu's were certainly visouse, though it seemed that she could only summon about five of them at a time. "Right now, I guess Emus it is then." Cinia said as she pointed them towards the battle. At this point she was starting to make a path through the creatures towards Zelan, who at this point was very close to many of the other heros, though his army was starting to look smaller as more of them appeared in the area.

Linia meanwhile was able to retreat from battle for a bit, panting at this point as she had been distracting and killing them rather thoroughly until now. She was next to Thesselard at this point. "Someone else needs to take over." Linia said panting as she motioned that the army was now advancing straight towards Thesselard.

Thasseldar almost groaned when he was 'redirected' to another person. The army would be right on top of him in 30 seconds or less; he needed a portal to link or he would end up having to create one out of his line of sight; to a place where he would certainly not be able to see.

The voice reaching him seemed to be projected via a portal. He used the same line to respond.

"I need a portal shell that I can connect mine to. A charging army into its bretheren would be an interesting sight, and would at the least cause major casualties before they know what's up."

On that note, he backed up, trying to create a little more space between him and the dormant portal section. "Mind the space between the intersection, it's trapped," he told Linia. "There is no way to kill all of them, and I'm not created for combat. If this works, they will have suffered a loss."

Shiro nods his head, although of course Thasseldar would not see it. "My portals can't transport people other than myself. And I'm not entirely sure I could link one to you, even if I was able to assist. However, I may have another solution." Shiro looked at the forces that were even now advancing on the stranger's location. He could take down a couple, but mere brute force would not be sufficient in this situation. "Can you distract them? If you give me some time, I may be able to take them down." Projecting his Absolute Eye, Shiro immediately went to work. He replaced the earth under the pavement with explosives, slowly filling up the street with his powers. This would take a while however, and 30 seconds certainly wasn't enough. He'd need a minute at least, preferrably two.

Thasseldar sighed. He could have really used another realmswalker; someone who knew how to operate portals as he did. It seemed as though others always had either a critical weakness or simply didn't understand operation.

Still, it was either that, or expend his energies dumping them over the ocean with abstact information at a distance too great to send that many beings through successfully with him still standing, so he slapped his staff on the ground after he had backed up a good enough distance and created another portal shell. With some concentration, he linked them so that one would feed the monsters coming out the front into the rear portal, which would cause them to run into themselves. Unfortunately, the massive quantity of bodies involved would quickly spend his energies in the course of three minutes. Oh well...

Completing the spell, he didn't stay to watch as the first of the horde coming after him suddenly found themselves trampled by the ones coming from behind him, a process that continued even as Thasseldar grew weaker and weaker. He poured most of the load onto his staff; it shattered in his hands, knocking him back and allowing some of the monsters to pass through the new loopholes in the portal.

The boss, meanwhile, was approaching...

Abaddon watched as Thasseldar put his plan into motion. He opened his portals, causing the oncoming battalions to trample each other to death. Things might have been working for now, but Abaddon knew that such an effort would quickly drain his energy and leave him vulnerable to the surviving fish men. It was only a matter of time before-

CRACK. BOOM.

That happened. The Realmswalker's staff exploded, letting out a flash of bright green and purple light while its master was knocked backwards onto the ground. It seriously must have sucked to be him, because soon enough those angry sea creatures were going to turn him into a fine paste.

"Shit!"

Abaddon landed next to his ally's side and unleashed two waves of the Devourer's Wrath on their enemies. The magic turned the first few rows of the battalions to ash and gore while the rest were blasted backwards onto each other. This should have made enough time to summon them...

"You wanted to join the babies? Fine, take some for the road!"

Abaddon created a large portal from which four fully grown demon locusts eagerly dashed out from. A small group of these things might have seemed like too little considering the circumstances, but it was more enough due to the size and features of these monsters. Slightly larger than a military helicopter, these locusts wings, legs, and bodies appeared to be covered with golden armor. Their claws were significantly sharper, and both their teeth and stinging tails dripped with a venom potent enough to cause the ground to sizzle and erode with each drip. Couple all of that with a ravenous appetite, and you have quite the force to reckon with.

"Kill!"

The four locusts charged forth upon the recovering ranks, trampling them underfoot and spewing acidic poison from their mouths. Any shots that were fired upon them did nothing but bounce off, and within minutes they were making a massacre out of the large groups of sea monsters. Some of the remaining locusts that Abaddon summoned earlier showed up as well, gathering around the adults and following the commands they were seemingly being given.

"Come on, we need to move elsewhere," Abaddon told Thasseldar. He wondered when this battle would end. By the looks of it there were still more sea monsters on the way, making Abaddon heavily consider the option of summoning several more of the adult locusts to REALLY cut down their numbers. That would certainly make things a lot easier, but lolthat's3broke5me the bastards were already destructive and ravenous enough on their own. A full on swarm, even if it was at his command, would go berserk with bloodlust and turn its attention to things other than what Abaddon needed dead.
