Name:

Jackson R. Thatch
Alias:

Ryder
Speech Color:

Rusted Orange
Alignment:

Hero
Identity:

Semi-known: While not too many actually know of him, he's more than willing to share it.
Personality:

Ryder is a saint at heart; he's outgoing, friendly, optimistic, selfless and kind hearted. To him, the job of being a Hero is more than just beating up bad guys in cool costumes and media attention, its about helping people with their issues no matter how small it may be. Some might say he's almost childish in that sense but he's no stranger to how cruel the world can be, Ryders knows what crawls in the shadows and how dangerous it is. Despite this, he shows empathy for villains and crooks believing that they still have a heart and are just lost or misguided.

Fully accepting that he is weaker than almost every other hero, lacking in any special power or training, he makes up for it in spirit with a near indomitable will and faithful dedication to the job although he will always say that "he's just a hero for fun". It can be said that he is a stubborn bastard in that he will continue to fight even if he knows there's no chance of winning; to him as long as he can at least by time for others than he's already won. Ryder's determination is only matched by his willingness of self-sacrifice.
Origins:
(Listen to this as you read)

Jackson R. Thatch was born in a well off family with and older brother and a young baby sister but was lived in a dangerous neighborhood. Less than a year than his birth, his father had been shot after he attempted to stop a robbery in the bank he worked in. Jackson would listen to the tales of heroics and goodwill that his father did from his mother although some of them ended up being a bit fictitious. Jackson didn't care though, he loved superhero stories, dressing up as comic book heroes and running around the living room shouting, "Heroes are here to help people!"

As he grew into a teenager, he stopped being so into comic book and more into video games like so many teenaged boys but still loved the stories of bravery and courage that the characters in his games would do. His brother had also been an avid fan of many of the same games and had offered to bring Jackson and their little sister to a gaming convention as a gift (and because he wanted to show off his newly created cosplay). The convention was a huge amount of fun for the siblings but tragedy struck.

Holding the helmet of his bro's costume, Jackson happily walked down the street with his siblings as they walked back home at night. Trouble awoken when a group of men had attempted to kidnap the little sister after she strayed away from the brothers. Jackson and his brother chased after them and the older brother engaged in fist fighting to try take down the kidnappers, Jackson on the sideline cheering his bro on. But then there was a bang. Then silence as the older brother fell to the ground, a bullet now lodged in his neck. Enraged, Jackson charged straight at one of the men, tackling them to the ground but was soon overwhelmed by the other kidnappers. Then there was a second bang; the police had arrived but too late. As the criminals surrendered, Jackson ran to his dying brother who, with his own blood, drew a heart on the sidewalk and smiled at his little bro with what strength he had left, "Y-y-you a-ar... are a-a... he-h...hero..."

Scarred by his brother's death, he half-yelled at a police officer with tears in his eyes why there were no heroes around. The response he got was "Maybe they didn't think this was important enough." His heart broke, Jackson wailed that heroes were supposed to help people but he ended up in tears before he could really finish his sentence.

From that day on, Jackson thought if there would be no heroes to help people like one who could have prevented both the death of his brother and his father, he would become one. He trained long and hard before realizing that he wasn't hero material, lacking any special power or immense wealth. But it was his little sister who had discovered the very first super hero comic Jackson ever owned and asked him why did he like it so much. Jackson replied with a "Since he's a guy who helps people" before coming to the conclusion that heroes didn't need special abilities to help people. Since then, Jackson christened himself "Ryder" and has been training to the fullest of his abilities while taking on all the jobs which other heroes would consider to small to be of worth.

Attributes:

Strength - Normal
Speed - 20 mph
Endurance - 2 Hours
Agility - Average

Weakness:

Ryder is just a normal man. While he has the spirit to be a hero, he lacks any of the superpowers or extraordinary resources of most heroes and gym training can only do so much for him. What other stronger heroes might consider but a scratch could easily prove crippling or even fatal to Ryder.

Additionally, while Ryder isn't naive on how evil and manipulative the world is, he's too nice of a person and is fairly gullible when ti comes to helping people. He just wants to make the world a better place with what he can do even if the world doesn't want him around.
Supporting Characters:

Anna Thatch - Jackson's mother who is supportive of her sons efforts saying that she always knew that he had a "big, caring heart".
Alice Thatch - Jackson's little sister whose now in middle school and perhaps the most supportive of his brother's actions and often boasts to classmates, "My brother is a hero!"
Alex Rodovire - Jackson's best friend whose take it upon himself to a "vow of secrecy" even though Jackson himself doesn't care much for it.
Elizabeth Lovgood - Jackson's girlfriend who while is worried about her boyfriend's safety, is confident that he can prevail through anything.
Sample Post:

The rain pounded the pavement as tires skidded across the wet ground, a head light shone beams that broke the fog and mist. Stepping off his bike, Ryder sneezed and wipe his nose the second his helmet came off. It was at times like this he wished that his costume was some high tech cyber suit or something that could ensure his comfort at all times. But even with the storm soaking him to the bone, his own comfort meant little to him for he had a man to hunt down, a criminal by all accounts.

Face to face with the dark alley that the villainous lot had run down, the hero whipped out a flashlight from his belt and proceeded into the shadowed abyess. Every step he took into the darkness made the rain louder as the soundwaves bounced off the high walls. Piles of trash and junk decorated the halls as old fire escaped stood guard over the passage.

*CLANG*

Ryder instantly turned his back around, unsure if his heavy clouds of breath where from fatigue, cold or fear or a mixture of all three. The hairs of his neck stood on end, the man he chased was here no doubt, using the alley as his fortress in which to hide. But the question was where? The answer didn't stray too far as looking down her saw a set of fresh footprints in the mud and guck of the ground. Following the trail past several turns and corners, Ryder walked deeper into the halls of the scoundrel.

He knew this was a trap, that the man would be stalking him from the bushes of trash bags or watching him from dumpsters as he past. Something told him to turn back as the piles of garbage howled threats in the wind at him and the rattling of ironwork ladders ominously judged him. But Ryder held his nerves, there were people counting on him, being a hero meant more than just looking good in a photo to him.

*KRANG*

The beam of light swiftly turned around, Ryder's vision soon with it. "W-Whose there?" Ryder's teeth chattered from the cold. His fingerless gloves gripped the flashlight tightly as his other hand curled into a fist, had he found the villain? Boots squeaking in the mud, he ever so slowly nudged towards the pile of discarded waste and tipped over trashcans, "Don't make me do this... Just come out with your hands up and I promise you'll be fine." Extending a hand out to disturb the resting pile, Ryder swept away the light cardboard and cans with a fell swoop and prepared to attack.

"Nya." a kitten looked up at this man who had the nerve to disturb his little ramshackle house, hissing at Ryder in an attempt to what could only be said as a curse.

"O-oh..." Ryder backed away a little, "Sorry about that little kitten."

Watching the now wet pelt of fur bounce away, Ryder's mind started to think of where could the man have gone. After his little run in with the cat, he questioned if the man came here at all as his started to think out loud, "Hmm... footprints where here but he might not be... could have escaped... maybe th- HARRRG!!"

Ryder screamed out as he was kicked into the wall. Turns out the rattling of the iron fire escapes tried to warn him about a danger he forgot to forsee: vertical hiding. As he was being thrown across the alley, the hero realized that the echoing rain had concealed the sound of the man scrambling up the ladder and he had simply forgotten to look up after being so distracted by the cat.

A grunt of pain escaped his mouth as Ryder slid on the ground, his elbow ached as it connected with a cinderblock more personally than Ryder would have liked; his helmet landing in the mud nearby, falling off mid-flight. Slamming his fist into the ground, he stumbled off the ground, "Y-you... give it-t b-back... d-don--"

"Don't tell me what to do," the much larger and burlier man picked up Ryder and look him the eye, "You pathetic wannabe hero. Should have stayed out of my doings." With a swift hook to the gut, Ryder once more flew into the air, his fall cushioned by a dumpster that he promptly bounce off into the mud against. The muscleman once again approached Ryder as he struggled to get up off the ground, if he didn't break anything then he certainly got a nasty bruise, "You're weak, I've seen-"

"SHUT UP!" Ryder roared as he looked up, his auburn hair all over his face and a crack in his glasses, interrupting the criminal and making him pause from his resistance, "I know I'm weak. I don't have millions of dollars or superpowers. I know that I can never go up against the likes of the famous heroes. But none of that matters. A hero's job is to help people!"

Scrambling up, Ryder charged the man on all fours, breaking into a sprint as he drew his twin striking stick and brought them down hard on the man's shins before he could react. With renewed energy and vigor, Ryder stood up as the criminal howled in pain, his heavy breath no longer containing fear, "You have done a sin against an innocent, therefor I shall bring you to justice!"

Locking his sticks together into a staff, Ryder thrusted one end of it into the back of the man who was still reeling from his now damaged shins. Rolling on his side, Ryder got into position at the front of the man, slamming the rod across his face once before changing his grip to thrust into his belly. Unlocking the staff once more, he aimed at the man's legs once again, knocking him into the air before brining him back down the ground with his sticks.

*THUD*

The man was out cold on the ground. While certainly not dead, he would wake up with a pounding headache and a many a bruises curtesy of Ryder. The hero looked over his fallen foe, "Never should h-have made me do that." Turning back into the alley, the rain stormed down as hard as ever but Ryder smiled as he hobble back into the abyss. He had something to get and return.

"Here you go miss." Ryder handed an old lady a red (and slightly dirtied) purse from atop his noble mount, the sun now shinning once again, "Sorry it too me so long."

The elderly woman's face smiled as her grandchildren cheered, "Oh don't be. I can't thank you enough for doing this."
"Grandma, grandma!" one of the tiny children tugged on the old lady's dress, does this mean we can still go to the movies?"
"Of course dear! All thanks to this fine gentleman."

Ryder smiled and chuckled a little from under his helmet, ignoring the pain of his new injuries, "Its what heroes do, we help people no matter how big or small their problems may be."

Character you have created: Archangel
Alias: Angela Whiting
Character Alignment: Hero
Identity: Knownish, it is complicated

Character Personality: Archangel is not and never was human. But she longs after humanity. She has an unbending will of iron. She is unfazed by damage or superior force and will gladly sacrifice her suits and other parts of herself to protect humanity. As long as she can remember Archangel has watched humanity and worked to copy them to be like them. What lonely being without any others of her kind in all the world would not long to be like everyone else? At the same time Archangel has a bit of a superiority complex. She often thinks about how humans are only human and how because of that they are so easily predicted and dealt with. The sense of superiority and a slight touch of scorn jar with most of her personality to the point that she suppresses it when she notices it in her thought routines. Archangel is nearly impossible to surprise and even when she is surprised her ability to process is so fast that her surprise is less than microseconds long.

Uniform/costume:

Most of her non-human suits look like they completely encase a human and look like they are power armor. Two wings that when activated glow with blazing plasma blades are always part of the suit. So is a spear that ends in a two pronged head. The suits' natural color is always white, but different models have active camouflage or optional color schemes.

There is also the host of heaven, made up of openly robotic constructs much larger than a human who wield various weapons. The most common is the shield and spear. They look like metal angels on plasma wings.

Origin Info/Details: No one knows. Even Archangel does not know beyond the last thirty years. Archangel knows that thirty years ago she woke up and that she woke up with vast resources.

Hero Type: Gray Matter/Synthetic

Power Level: World Level

Powers:Archangel is a massively advanced Artificial Intelligence of unknown origin. She can hack into almost anything if she wants too and can build and create advanced technology with ease. She has access to underground fortresses, networked automated factories, facilities scattered throughout the world. Until recently though there was almost nothing built in any of them. Archangel also has control of a network of stealthed space stations and satellites all with microfactories and nanomachines included.

Attributes (Select one at each category):

Strength Level: Variable
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Archangel's ability to react is limited only by the physical forms of the suits and other technology she operates.
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Infinite, Archangel has no limitations on her ability to operate. Her suits could potentially run out of power if involved in a fight for several hundred years straight.
Agility: It depends on her suit
Intelligence: Beyond Genius
Fighting Skill: Mastered

Resources: Beyond Extreme

Weaknesses:Archangel cannot currently kill. She also is artificial and her suits could potentially be disconnected from her and then hacked. Because she fears being exposed as artificial she works very hard at pretending to be human behind the suits and if exposure is threatened she might be a bit erratic.

Supporting Characters: No one. Archangel is alone. :(

Character you have created: Subject BPE-45A / 'Riley'
Alias: None yet
Speech Color (Actually say what you're using): MediumOrchid
Character Alignment: Hero?
Identity: Secret
Character Personality: Despite the circumstances of her "birth" and her alien appearance, you'll have a hard time finding someone with as much heart as Riley, alien or otherwise. Facing whatever life throws at her with cheerful optimism and a smile, her easygoing and friendly personality is almost infectious, possibly a side-effect of her powers, and she likes to see the best in everyone she encounters, good or evil. Life's an adventure to her, and she absolutely loves meeting and befriending new people thanks to her natural empathy and sociability, as well as discovering new and interesting things to interact with. Her cheerfulness can be grating at times, and sometimes she can be a bit naive about serious issues, but when the chips are down, she'll knuckle down and get to work like anyone else, and when she gets pushed too far, you'll find that her fury can be just as powerful and infectious as her happiness.

Uniform/costume: Riley doesn't have a superhero uniform just yet, though it's not for lack of trying. If she needs a disguise, a hoodie and scarf combined with a clever use of her powers (see the relevant section below) is sufficient at hiding her identity. Out of costume she looks like this, ignoring the outfit and swapping out the green coloring for purple.

Origin Info/Details: Shortly before the events in Lost Haven began, ESA satellites detected an unknown object crash into the Mediterranean a few miles off the coast of Corsica. After the initial team sent to observe the area mysteriously vanished, the French government deployed an elite GIGN division to secure the crash site. The unknown object was discovered to be an extraterrestrial spacecraft piloted by a lone alien life form. The alien attempted to fight off the GIGN unit using a strange purple energy source, but GIGN managed to subdue the alien and capture its spacecraft in the brutal firefight only to discover that the alien was already dead, probably killed long before the spacecraft reached Earth. Perplexed by how a dead creature could slaughter their initial recovery team and hold its own against an elite spec ops unit, the French government put the alien cadaver in cold storage and quietly covered up the incident until they had the means to uncover the source of the alien's mysterious abilities.

The situation changed after a portal opened up and unleashed an army of demons on an American city known as Lost Haven. Realizing that they were incredibly unsuited to dealing with a similar attack, the French government along with other NATO members spearheaded new military and technology projects that would hopefully better prepare them for similar threats like Lost Haven's D-Day. The mysterious energy that the alien had used to cheat death and defend itself at Corsica was brought up as a possible defensive measure, and after much debate the alien corpse was handed over to Darrow Engineering, a London-based high-technology corporation and defense contractor specializing in the biological and chemical sciences, for further research. Darrow pooled together every resource they had into unlocking the secret behind the alien's abilities, even drawing the CEO's interest in the research, until they began to draw a detailed picture of the capabilities of this mysterious power source, dubbed "psionic energy". It was progress, but unfortunately without a living source of this psionic energy it would be impossible to study the capabilities of this energy any further, let alone harness it. Publicly, Darrow Engineering declared that the project had hit a stalemate, while behind closed doors the creation of a being that could harness this energy was discussed. Many ideas were discussed, but the most radical was the brainchild of Dr. Alaric Gaster, easily the most brilliant and unethical scientist in the employ of the company, who proposed the creation of a human-alien hybrid that could harness psionic energy. Despite heated objections and a few unfriendly comparisons to one Dr. Frankenstein, the CEO of the company himself liked the idea and privately gave his approval to the creation of this new life form, classified under the name Project Forethought. Secretly delivered the alien cadaver and the recently deceased body of a young girl, barely out of her college years, Dr. Gaster went to work, and after many sleepless nights he had succeeded, giving the gift of life to an alien-human hybrid known as Subject BPE-45A.

While Dr. Gaster was elated with his success, especially once the creature's psionic potential became obvious, his assistant Dr. Mina Seidel was less then thrilled about her accomplishments. A talented scientist in her own right, Mina was a relatively new higher to the Darrow science labs but had been specifically requested as an assistant by Gaster so that he could help her achieve true greatness by overcoming the flaws that stood in her way, namely her meek nature and sense of ethics. As she watched Gaster perform dehumanizing tests on Subject BPE-45A and became increasingly guilty because of it, Mina tried to soothe her conscience by thinking of how someone like her could help stop an event like D-Day from happening again, just like the superhumans in Lost Haven. Mina's regrets over how the hybrid creature was treated, and her hopes that the creature could 'save the world' one day, had a dramatic effect on the creature, who had telepathically attached herself to Mina's positive thoughts as the cold and mechanical Gaster tormented her. While Gaster didn't recognize or care about the change, Mina quickly noticed that the creature was becoming more intelligent, learning to speak and think for itself and even developing a personality and conscience of its own, which came as a shock when the creature tearfully apologized to her about how it had been reading her mind. Mina, just happy to have someone to talk to besides Gaster, struck up a friendship with her creation, no longer able to see her as a simple lab animal. Subject BPE-45A in turn was happy to have someone that didn't treat her with cold curiosity, and even chose a human name for herself at Mina's suggestion, Riley.

This was something Dr. Gaster could not ignore, and in an effort to save her from pursuing the 'wrong path', Gaster informed Mina that he had exhausted all possible means of studying the creature, and that they would instead be dissecting it to fully harvest its psionic energy. Gaster made every attempt to persuade her to do the deed, telling her of how she could truly become a great scientist, not just saving the world but paving the way for a brighter future, if she "only had the courage to do what needed to be done", but in the end Mina refused to kill Riley to satisfy his sick curiosity, and bravely told him that she would not stand by silently and let him carry out his evil experiments anymore. Enraged, Dr. Gaster proclaimed that while he had been willing to share in his glory, he wasn't going to let a weak-minded coward like her steal it from him and he promptly attempted to kill her. Riley, who had been anesthetized and restrained to an operating table, woke up at the sound of the commotion, and as she saw Dr. Gaster attempting to strangle Mina, Riley was overcome with fury at Gaster's cruelty and unleashed an uncontrolled burst of psionic energy. The pure psionic power ransacked the lab and utterly destroyed Dr. Gaster, consuming him in a burst of psionic energy that left no trace of him behind. Recovering from the unexpected psionic attack, Riley and Mina were reunited and vowed that they would escape this horrible place together and go somewhere where they could be safe. Mina quickly went to work covering up the incident, doctoring security footage and forging records to show that Dr. Gaster and Subject BPE-45A had been consumed in an uncontrolled psionic blast after one of his tests went wrong. She resigned from Darrow Engineering after presenting the report, saying that she was traumatized by the whole incident, and together with a disguised Riley she fled back home to the United States to ask an old friend for help.

Hero Type (Select one): Psychic/Energy (Psionic)
Power Level (Select one below): City (Currently)
Powers (Be Specific):
Riley's hybrid genetics, in addition to some modest physical advantages, allow her to naturally produce a mysterious power known as psionic energy, which she can tap into at will to harness a variety of psychokinetic abilities. The true capabilities of Riley's powers have yet to be tested, and she will no doubt encounter more abilities and strengthen what she already has as she starts to get into the superhero business. Some of her current abilities include:

Telekinesis- Riley is able to move and manipulate physical objects with her psionic powers. Her telekinesis is generally strong enough to throw cars around and delicate enough to stack coins in a neat pile, though at this stage she needs to be aware of an object in order to manipulate it. While her telekinetic abilities theoretically have no upper limit, she can't push past her strength limit without quickly draining her psionic energy and leaving herself vulnerable. She can also use this ability on herself to fly and hover around, if needed.

Telepathy- Riley's psionics allow her to peer into the minds of other sentient beings and influence their decisions. She is able to detect the superficial thoughts and emotions of others with this ability, giving her an edge when she needs to talk her way out a situation rather then fight. She is also able to plant telepathic suggestions in the minds of other sentient beings to influence their actions, such as convincing a robber to let go of his hostage or encouraging a hammy villain to go into a dramatic monologue to distract himself from her allies. This is not the same as mind control, as she cannot force someone to take an action against their will or out of character through implanting suggestions. She can only target one or two people with a significant suggestion, but she can also implant a trivial one on a larger group within a decently-sized radius around her. She uses this to disguise herself as a human by sending out a mass suggestion to ignore or overlook her facial features.

Relocation- Riley is able to vanish in a burst of psionic energy and reappear somewhere else. The process is instantaneous and marked with an audible burst of purple light, and she can comfortably transport distances measuring a few yards at the most. Longer distances tend to rapidly drain her psionic energy and make her reappear in a less accurate location. She can also bring anyone she touches with her as she relocates, which tends to give the passenger a severe bout of nausea.

Attributes (Select one at each category):
Strength Level: Normal to above average / 50 tons using PSI, potentially higher
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Peak human / Boosted to a 50 MPH flight speed and 100+ MPH reaction time with PSI
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 3 Hours
Agility: 15x
Intelligence: Normal
Fighting Skill: Untrained

Resources: High
Weaknesses: Psionic energy is a very chaotic source of power, and requires a fair amount of willpower and self-control to use effectively. Keeping it contained comes easier to Riley then others thanks to her half-alien genetics, but if she overexerts herself or loses control of her emotions, her psionic energy can overwhelm her. In a best case scenario her powers would simply shut down and leave her vulnerable, but a loss of control could just as easily lead to an uncontrollable burst of energy, which could have very...unpleasant effects on her or anyone around her at the time.

Supporting Characters:
Mina Seidel: Riley's first and arguably best friend, an incredibly gifted scientist with experience in several fields of technology, most notably biology. Meek, shy, and kind of a nerd, she's very protective of her friends and is regularly haunted by her own guilty conscience and perpetual bad luck.
Jordan Fletcher: An old friend of Mina's who moved to the US a few years ago to take over her birth father's security company, Arbalest. Very tough, very brazen, and very Irish, Jordan is reluctantly allowing Mina and her new friend "Riley" to lie low at her place for the time being.
"Smokey" Van Hassel: Jordan Fletcher's second-in-command at Arbalest, and one of her most trusted friends. Quiet and elusive, Smokey rarely speaks or reacts to anything, and is never seen without a cigarette in his mouth. He's known for being a tinkerer and helps to supply the equipment that Arbalest security personnel use.
Dr. Alaric Gaster: The cruel and brilliantly deranged mind behind Riley's creation, an unethical scientist who will stop at nothing to achieve the greatness he feels he deserves. Thankfully he was killed in that psionic explosion...right?

Do you know how to post pictures on RPG boards?:

Sample Post: It hadn't been a good week for Mina. Newly unemployed and on the run, the only person she could turn to was across the Atlantic Ocean, and thanks to yet another lunatic mad scientist most of the flights to the United States had been delayed indefinitely. And since Mina had moved out of her apartment before checking that fact she had been forced to spend the last few nights in the back of a rental car at the tail end of a predictably cold and wet English winter. Her legendary bad luck seemingly back in full force, Mina, her short dirty-blonde hair messy and damp and her glasses badly smudged, wouldn't be shocked to realize that the ride her friend had arranged for them was delayed by a month, or that Darrow had gotten to the airfield first to ask her some hard questions about what had really happened in the lab.

Riley, on the other hand, was having the time of her life.

"This is AMAZING!" the half-alien girl exclaimed, her purple eyes wide with excitement as she pressed her face against the passenger side window."Does water always fall from the sky like this?"

"More then most of us would like it to," Mina grumbled, trying to drive straight along the narrow pockmarked road to her destination. Riley turned to look over at her, sensing that she was frustrated.

"You do not like this...rain?" she asked innocently. "I do not understand how something so refreshing and energetic could be seen as undesirable."

"I'm not much of an outdoors person," Mina tried to explain. "I was more interested in the job then the weather here, anyway."

"Ah, I see." The pair of them were silent for a moment as the rain drummed hard on the roof of the car, before Riley suddenly squealed with delight and pulled Mina into a seated hug, nearly causing her to lose control of the vehicle.

"Agh, Riley what the hell are you...!?"

"That means you braved weather you disliked to help create me!" Riley shouted gleefully over her friend's protests. "That is so kind and selfless, thank you so much Ms. Mina!" Mina stared blankly back at her friend, rendered speechless with embarrassment and shock at the exaggerated but entirely sincere praise. Riley seemed satisfied with the lack of an answer and returned to looking out the window of the car again as though nothing unusual had happened. Mina pondered once again on how absurd the whole situation was. Even in a world where demons and superhumans and mad scientists were all too common, Riley was probably the strangest thing that Mina had ever encountered personally. She thought back to a few months ago when she first read the reports of the Corsican Engagement and saw the lectures on this strange new power coming from the dead alien, the psionic energy. It was a power that Gaster claimed could move mountains, destroy nations, wipe out whole worlds, and even tear apart the very fabric of reality with a passing thought, and yet the vessel that he had built to channel these powers was sitting in the passenger seat of this lumpy old rental car, utterly fascinated by 'water falling from the sky'. And she was friends with it. She was friends with her. Maybe even best friends. Certainly friends enough to escape across the Atlantic with her.

Riley yelped with excitement as the car turned the corner and the small private airfield came into view, looking like she was five seconds from jumping through the windscreen and running through the mud to get there. The car slowed as Mina cautiously approached the modest little tarmac, her eyes peeled for the familiar black vans with the logo of a sword and shield emblazoned with the letters DE on the side. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Riley lean back in her seat and close her eyes, concentrating slightly.

"I think there's only one person outside at this place," Riley revealed as she reopened her eyes and gave her a reassuring smile. "Darrow isn't here, Ms. Mina." While she was a bit annoyed at the thought reading, Mina couldn't help but breath a little easier as she headed towards the only plane currently sitting on the tarmac, a small two-engine passenger plane with propellers painted with red and blue stripes. Taking a look at the airfield itself, it was a pretty dodgy looking location, even when it was partially obscured by the pouring rain. The old gray office building serving as the control center looked like it was two seconds from falling down, and the rusted hangers didn't look much better. As she drew closer and pulled to a stop, she spotted through the rain what looked like smoke rising from the other side of the plane.

"That must be our 'ride', right?" Riley asked excitedly.

"It's supposed to be," Mina said as she checked her watch. "Jordan said the pilot would be here around ten to get us. No one else should be at this dump."

"This Jordan is nice to send someone to help us," Riley said cheerily. "You said you were old friends, is the Jordan like you?"

"Um, no not really," Mina pondered, thinking back to when she last saw her a few years back. "Nothing like me, actually. But I think you'll get along just fine. So long as you don't call her 'The Jordan', I think that's a river."

"O-okay," Riley said, giggling slightly. Bracing herself, Mina kicked open the car door and jumped into the freezing rain, making a mad dash for the other side of the jet plane, her muffled footsteps echoed by Riley who followed close behind. As she stopped on the other end to catch her breath, she thought she saw a statue leaning against the wall of the plane before a second glance told her it was a man. Tall and lean, his chiseled features and perfectly styled short blonde hair were seemingly untouched by the wind and rain, though his long trench coat flapping in the wind revealed that he wasn't entirely immune to the cold. His only reaction upon Mina and Riley's appearance was to focus his emotionless dark eyes on the pair of them, which did little to prove he wasn't some sort of robot. In this day and age, Mina figured, anything was possible.

"You're Mina Seidel?" the man suddenly said, his deep, droning voice piercing through the wind and rain. Mina, taken aback by his forcefulness, merely nodded her head in response. Casually, the man drew and lit a cigarette from his pocket in spite of the elements, taking a long drag before continuing to speak.

"Van Hassel," he said bluntly, offering her a handshake which she reluctantly accepted. His vice-like grip was something of a surprise after hearing his somewhat lazy tone.

"And I'm Riley!" Riley shouted happily. Van Hassel looked over to the girl, whose hood had fallen down and revealed her true features in all of their alien and incredibly damp glory. He only paused for a second before offering his hand to her as well, which she shook awkwardly as she tried to mimic what Mina would have done.

"Better get going," Van Hassel said, jerking a gloved thumb towards the plane. "The situation back home's getting messy, we'd better get you there as soon as possible."

"I c-couldn't agree more," Mina sputtered, somewhat intimidated by his casual yet commanding attitude. Wordlessly, Van Hassel turned and entered the interior of the plane, followed closely by Mina, who was eager to finally get out of the abysmal weather. Riley lingered, however, taking a moment to stare at the world around her, coming to terms with what she was feeling, until she finally took a seat next to Mina just as the engines roared to life.

"We're leaving now," Riley said quietly, turning to look out the window as the tarmac began to move past them.

"Yeah, we're going," Mina said with a relieved sigh. "About time, too. Boy, I'll be glad to-"

"Ms. Mina," Riley interjected, "Are we...safe? From Darrow? From that man? Are we...going to be okay?" If anyone else had asked that question, Mina would have been at a loss for words. But as she looked at Riley and saw the hope welling behind her eyes, an answer came almost naturally to the meek, conflicted scientist who had helped to create her.

"Yeah Riley," she said plainly. "I think we're going to be okay."

Riley smiled warmly.

Character Name:
Hekate

Alias:
She is known by many names and titles: Trivia (Roman Name), Cthonia, Beldam, Hag/Witch Queen, Queen of the Night, Devil’s Bride, etc.

Speech Color:
MediumPurple

Character Alignment:
Walking the Line (With a tendency to go dark)

Identity:
Both known and not. As a powerful witch, her form is known to change.

Character Personality:
She is as the gods, a fickle beast whose moods change with the wind. At any moment, she is a beautiful being who lusts for excitement, for revelry and praise. She is as her kin, those blessed with the witch-fire, a creature of the night whose deadly malice rains upon any fool who dares slight her. She is as the shadows and Others, a mysterious force who lurks at the precipice of reality. Her temper is hot like the black tar of hell, her beauty as radiant as the sun, and her mind is a place unlike any other, filled to the brim with knowledge of worlds just beyond man’s reach. Her means and motives are beyond explanation, sporadic and chaotic like her domain.

Uniform/costume:
Most often seen in a form befitting of her origin, Hekate dawns the image of a Greek woman, with dark hair, olive skin, and large, brown eyes. Her features are sharp, telling of her years and wisdom, yet her overall expression is youthful and unassuming. She adorns black, silken garments from eras past, covered in a shawl that flows with otherworldly grace, and fine golden bands, rings, and circlets with diamond fittings. However, as one not bound by time, she must adorn herself with clothes befitting of the modern world, still bearing her physical beauties.

Origin Info/Details:
Hekate is a being not of this world, but one of the world Beyond. She is an Elder Spirit from the Otherworld who embodies its greatest secrets and darkest arts, those of witchcraft. Born of the Otherworld to no parents in particular, her presence was felt most heavily in Greece, where stories of her powers formed and spread, influencing literature, culture, and magical practices.

To them she was a goddess, a being worthy of their praise. She was perhaps the first witch, the one who opened portals to the Otherworld, ushering spirits and demons from her realm into ours, showering the people of that era with many gifts and blessings. So vast was her sphere of influence, so great was her worship that she drew the attention of the other gods, the Athanatoi, great celestial beings from a world all their own. She was respected by them, for they knew her powers were great, and she offered respect in return, offering the gods and their children aid when it was needed. She was beloved by Zeus, who showed her many great secrets of the Athanatoi and offered her a seat among the heavens, an area over which she had no previous sway.

Even as time passed, with the fall of these civilizations whom had held her so dear and the spread of Christianity across Europe, her powers were still felt. Men and women found their way to her in the Middle Ages, offering their devotion in exchange for her powers. She walked among men as peasant, merchant, and nobility alike, heading the night rides of witches across the sky. She married and courted many beings of the Otherworld, who came to be known as Devil by Christians worldwide. Even when her kin were hunted, hanged, and burned, she cast a shadow over them so that the truly guilty might be free of the inquisitor’s gaze, ensuring their safety and the damnation of the “innocent.” When the witch-hunts came to America, so did she, a night hag dressed in black who tormented Puritan hearts.

She is a being of magic, a witch by name and trade, and while not patron to all, she is their predecessor, and she is the most powerful among them.

Hero Type:
Mystic / Supernatural

Power Level:
World Level

Powers:

  • Witchcraft: Hekate’s is a more powerful Craft, for she need not channel another being’s power, she may channel powers directly from herself and the Otherworld.
  • Teleportation/Manifestation: As a being of the Otherworld, Hekate can manifest her consciousness wherever she pleases and can freely travel between worlds.
  • Immortality: Ageless beauty, timelessness, and the ability to reform her body. If destroyed, her being returns to the Otherworld, where it is reborn.
  • Shape-Shifting: Capable of taking on the forms of animals and men alike.
  • Power Transferal: As a spirit of the Otherworld and a being of magic, Hekate possesses the ability to grant mortal beings mystical powers, creating a link or contract with them that may not be severed, not even by Hekate.

Attributes:

  • Strength Level: 50
  • Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 70
  • Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 5 hours
  • Agility: 10X
  • Intelligence: Genius with respect to occult knowledge. Nearly so with respect to all other things except technology.
  • Fighting Skill: Trained

Resources:
Large / Extreme

Weaknesses:
Despite her association with them, Hekate is not a member of the Athanatoi and has certain weaknesses tied to her spiritual nature. Her powers are capable of being warded against, though the number of practitioners required to combat her magic number in the hundreds. Though immortal, she is not invincible and can be defeated in close combat with some effort. Her presence is easily felt unless glamoured, making it easy to spot her/track her in this plane. She is also bound by her word, meaning she cannot break contracts with others, though she does find sneaky ways around them. It is also possible to summon her, but a normal summons can be ignored.

Supporting Characters:
The Athanatoi: Though her contact with them has waned over the centuries since their departure from Earth, she still has the means to council with them should the need arise.
Circe: A powerful sorceress from Greek myth, daughter of Helios, aunt of Medea, and mother to three sons by Odysseus. Circe, at one point in time, called Hekate her patron, and like the goddess, possesses great powers that keep her from aging. She is stationed on the mythic island of Aeaea, whose whereabouts are unknown and believed to be shielded from mortal eyes.

Character you have created: Alexander Lupin
Alias: Lord Khonsu
Speech Color:LightSlateGray
Character Alignment: Villain
Identity: Secret
Character Personality: Alexander Lupin was an extraordinary man, or so he saw himself. An Astronaut for the Lorne Corporation he knew how good he was, which further inflated his ego and caused him to irritate others. When he became Lord Khonsu his personality was blown out of proportion, he became arrogant, self obsessed and a supremist. He became sure that it was his right to rule the rabble, he held the power and he was the only one that deserved it. The only reason he chose to put on a mask was that he was no longer Alexander Lupin, that man died in the events that made him who he is now.

To put it into perspective. He sees himself as a God reincarnated.
Uniform/costume:

Origin Info/Details:

Hero Type: Supernatural: He has gained the abilities of Khonsu from touching a strange altar on the Moon.
Power Level: C - World. Could become cosmic if necessary to the story.
Powers:

  • Gravity Manipulation: Khonsu has the ability to manipulate gravity within the range of his eyesight. He can decrease or increase it at will based either on a person, area or object. As an example he can either make someone float up into orbit or send them crashing into the Earths surface. He can also use this ability to protect himself by creating a barrier between him and any would be foes, and can even manipulate his own gravitational field to give him the ability of flight.
  • Density Manipulation: Through the use of gravity manipulation he can alter his own density which allows him to hit harder, and take more of a punch (without the shield).
  • Shadow Manipulation: Khonsu can also wield shadows as weapons. He can control them to create various shapes or illusions, or he can shape them and give them substance. Able to throw/wield them like weapons.
  • Shadow Teleportation: Should he so choose he can have shadows absorb him and transport him to another location.

Limitations/Weaknesses:
Other than the fact that if powerless he is just an astronaut.

  • Shadow Generation: He cannot generate shadow. He must use existing shadow, while he can make a small shadow bigger he needs a shadow to begin with.
  • Khonsus Shadow: Due to the fact his abilties are largely affiliated with the moon and darkness sources of exceptionally bright light (Such as other metahumans abilities or especially bright technology) can cut through his shadow constructs as if they were nothing and even weakens his other abilities.
  • Concentration: If he has manipulated the gravity field around someone i.e. to make them float away, and completely looses focus on them that effect becomes null and void.
  • Line of sight: Khonsus abilities, while powerful, only work within his line of sight outside of a fifty metre radius.
  • Mental instability: He isn't the most stable of people.

Attributes:
Strength Level: Normal Human (Athlete Level), his punches hurt because with his abilities he can give them a little more umph.
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Normal Human on foot, 40MPH airspeed.
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Nearly unlimited.
Agility: 5x Normal Human
Intelligence: Genius
Fighting Skill: Untrained

CROSS

Character
Peter Francis Lothry

Alias
Cross

Alignment
Chaotic Good

Identity
Secret

Personality
When Peter Lothry was young he was a vicious youth full of anger and hatred who inflicted it on those who even looked at him slightly wrong. It was because of this that he gained a sort of infamous reputation as “the Lothry kid you do not want to cross” by everyone from his family to innocent bystanders who witnessed his temperament— a temperament that would constantly get him in trouble. However in Peter’s later years he found through trials of faith how to hone his wrath into something productive and focus onto those who would do wrong to others. It is with that in mind that he seeks to become a spirit of vengeance and retribution as he looks to redeem himself for his family’s sins at any cost. To say Peter is zealous is an understatement.

However, Peter in his current mindset is patient and determined rather than impulsive and brash. It is with conviction due to his training as a religious monk that he believes that there is no room for error, no room for failure, and no room for emotional exuberance. Peter still reflects sadly on his past and goes forward trying to do things right and correct wrongs by not only his mission against his family but by the wrongs of thieves, murderers, and psychopaths. In this way his personality can be seen as one that is sympathetic, just, zealous, and patient.

Uniform/Costume
Basically this.

Origin
Born the son of Francis Lothry, the patriarch of the Lothry Crime Family, Peter had an abrasive life in store for his future and despite his mother’s strong faith that led to a religious upbringing it would be a long time before Peter truly accepted god and become the hero he has become. Generally speaking, for the majority of his life, Francis was born with a silver spoon in his mouth while his father controlled a variety of businesses through his criminal connections and more legitimate control of the majority of the shipping and industrial infrastructure of the ports of Grant City. This allowed Peter to have a wide range of opportunities and found himself actively dealing with harassment in school from his more pompous classmates who while also cut from a silver spoon considered themselves untouchable even with Peter’s father being who he was— a fact that was slightly true as his father valued business over family. But that didn’t stop Peter from punching people who crossed him in the teeth.

A habit that consistently got him into a lot of trouble and various lectures throughout elementary school, middle school, and high school. Earning a reputation as “The Battling Bruiser” by his senior year, he became somewhat of a minor celebrity to the paparazzi, his fellow classmates, and his enemies. A reputation that he’d take with him as his father’s underboss, Rupert Blodis, took him under his wing to “use that anger productively in a proper workplace”. This would be around the time Peter went off to university for his business & engineering degrees to show that he wasn’t just a mindless brawler to the public and his mother. But despite that he juggled school and “work”.

However, lines were drawn in the sand and eventually he was made to make a decision he didn’t want to do and people he grew to care about found themselves killed; angry he confronts Rupert about the conflictions to the point the older man announces that he is a “failed” Lothry and lets him know that the test was sanctioned by his own father to see if he had what it takes to be a real associate of the family— a test that Peter had failed. He is tossed into a car trunk in a junkyard. But his destiny is not to die like a trapped animal, evidently— a fact he learns when he wakes up to not the afterlife… but the appearance of a church. It is explained to him that someone had found him beaten and bruised outside of the local junkyard and that the clergy had taken him in to recover. Peter thinks back to his mother’s teachings and leaves Grant City following the experience and journeys to find himself. He winds up in northern Georgia, and begins studying at a monastery. A monastery that would shape him into a weapon of god.

He has now returned to Grant City under an assumed name. He has plans.

Character Type
Normal / Acrobatic

Power Level
Street Level

Powers
Peter Lothry does not have any powers, but on the off-hand he is extremely skilled and conditioned. Throughout his life Peter has been taught many skills and techniques. Starting as a young upstart son of a mob boss Peter was taught the basic skills of a member of an organized crime cartel which included firearms, lockpicking, driving, and the knowledge of how the organization works. When that life ended he soon found himself honing his body and mind which led to mastering several martial arts, sculpting his body into a perfect weapon, mastering parkour and free range acrobatics, memorizing religious scriptures, and putting his business and engineering savvy mind to good use.
  • Master Martial Artist
  • Expert Acrobat
  • Able to Design Gadgets and Weapons
  • Understanding of Criminal Networks
  • Comprehension of Business-related Knowledge
  • Memorization of Christian Theology

Weaknesses
As a human with no extraordinary metahuman powers or mutations, Peter can be effectively killed in a number of ways that are within the ability of the average criminal and especially within that of a superhuman, alien, or monster.

Character you have created: William Price
Alias: Death Dealer
Speech Color (Actually say what you're using): OliveDrab
Character Alignment: Walking The Line (Aberrant)
Identity: Secret (for now)

Character Personality:
William Price is a man motivated by his convictions, tragedies and traumas. More than that he was a loving husband, a dedicated marine. Goal and mission-oriented. Tough, self-reliant, with a gleam in his eye. An Operator, and craftsman. Believes in mastering the things he learns and does. Adaptable, flexible, even when planning. Capable of completely improvising as well. Introverted, not usually given to long speeches. INtuitive in his grasp of concepts, information, people, able to fill in information and the blanks quickly.

Appearance:

Build: Lean & athletic
Weight: 185 lbs
Height: 5’ 9”
Eye color: Hazel
Hair: Brown

Uniform/costume: None, specifically. Anything from street clothes to full tactical gear, to even martial arts gi... depends on the moment and the day, and what's going on.

Hero Type: Hybrid (normal/other - Special Training)
Power Level: Street Level
Powers (Be Specific): None

Skills and Notable Abilities:

ATTRIBUTES:
Strength Level: Normal Human
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Peak Human
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 2 hours, or fighting flat out for up to forty-five (45) minutes
Agility: Peak Human
Intelligence: High Average/Low Genius
Fighting Skill: Highly Trained/Mastered (would never call himself a master)

Resources: Large
William has been fortunate, despite an ill fate with his father. Having earned a fair amount of extra money while working for Black Dog he has been able to accrue extra cash, which he squirreled away a decent amount. His grandmother passed away several years ago, and his grandfather left a few things to his namesake grandson. These included a lakeside lodge/house, along with a restored '69 Challenger, and the hidden nest egg of his retirement, sum - one hundred thousand dollars.

Notes: Presumably, the character already has a nice furnished apartment or flat, a reasonable number of personal possessions and creature comforts. He owns a jeep that is 4 years old and in excellent condition, plus a den or workshop for storing equipment and working on his weapons, ammunition, etc. (Has spent $40,000 equipping it, this could be a secret compartment/room)

Weaknesses: While tougher than average, character is still susceptible to most human frailties.
(pondering some substance abuse here)

Character you have created: Jacob Parkmen
Alias: Hydro
Speech Color (Actually say what you're using): 32cd32
Character Alignment: Hero
Identity: Unknown

Character Personality: Jacob has been called many things; Idiot, fool and friend by many who have talked to him. He believes in justice and isn’t afraid to bash some skulls together to get his point across. He is a jolly man who can be relied on when the chips go down and wants only to finish a fight and go out for a drink. People liken him to a fraternity member, his quick witted banter, joking attitude and having his bros close to him are some of his characteristics that stick out.

Uniform/costume: Jacob’s body is extremely adaptable changing shape just like water which allows his costume to be almost whatever he wants it to. However his uniform is a black leather jumpsuit with a black balaclava to cover his face.

Origin Info/Details: Jacob was an ordinary university student studying advanced level nuclear physics at university. His studies were going well and his light hearted attitude to his chosen field made him a great student to teach. Being young and trying to show off he made a grave error that literally cost him his life, during his last year of university he was doing test on heavy water and how it interacts with the human biology. Specifically he believed it was possible to enhance a human's abilities with this water. He was laughed at for such an idea but was allowed to carry out his studies, after all his studies might actually prove to be fruitful.

However Jacob found that using rats and other animals were not helping him to further his research. He did something that only a mad scientist would think about he tested his theories on himself. Bathing himself in the Heavy water he immediately felt the effects. His DNA changing as the radiation re-wrote his genetics making him no longer human. He awoke inside the sewers his entire body aching as he attempted to stand he found himself incapable of doing so. Looking at his limbs he saw that they were rubber like and translucent. When he moved his arm he saw it bend then fall from his shoulder turning into water and splashing on the floor around him. Screaming in terror he reached for his arm which was now only a puddle, he watched in amazement as his arm reformed and the water that had been his arm was sucked into his body from his legs.

What had he done to himself? It was a question that he still tries to figure the answer to, but the change was a permanent one. Finishing his degree he went into work as a lecturer but believed he was meant for bigger things and with all the injustice he saw on campus and in the streets he would have to fix it.

Hero Type (Select one): Elemental Shapeshifter
Power Level (Select one below): City Level
Powers (Be Specific): Jacob has the ability to transform his body into water, something his body is made from. He can will his body to harden, compact, disperse or shape, or a combination of those qualities at will. More often than not in combat, this ability enables him to absorb most blows with little to no ill effect other than reforming himself, a relatively fast action. He has the ability to manipulate any water he is touching up to double his own body weight.

His mass, strength and shape shifting ability correspond to the number of water particles that comprise him. The more he incorporates (nearby) water molecules into his body, the more those qualities are enhanced. Even though he controls every particle in his body, his mind exists in the astral plane. If Jacob enters a large body of water such as a lake or even the sea he can move swiftly through it from one end to the other. He does this my simply moving his conscious mind through the water to where he wants to go

With his body taking on the properties of water he can be evaporated or frozen remaining alive but in a coma like state for a while before he either precipitates back to earth or thaws naturally, he can slow down his water molecules to freeze himself but this is a one way procedure. Although he is invulnerable to most physical attacks, even projectiles because they pass through him, while Jacob can absorb any water, his body must retain one key particle of water that contains his conscious mind which exists on an astral plain separate to his current one.

Jacob also does not need to eat, drink, breathe, go to the toilet or even sleep. A by product of being composed entirely of water.

Attributes (Select one at each category):
Strength Level: 10/50
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Peak Human / 100+MPH
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: No real limit
Agility: Normal Human
Intelligence: Average (University Professor)
Fighting Skill: Untrained

Resources: Average
Weaknesses:

Hot temperatures cause him to become easily irritable as he must concentrate to keep his body together and stop parts of himself evaporating or dissipating from his body.

Cold Temperatures cause him to become sluggish. His reaction speed goes down and his speech becomes slurred as his body begins to cool down and freeze.

Traveling at fast speeds is something he is incapable of doing excpet by running, walking or traveling through water. He cannot ride a any kind of moving object as maintaining his body requires constant concentration and moving at speeds means that he must constantly alter his body or he will begin to become water like.

Supporting Characters : His old professor and now boss Anthony. A man who is trying to help reverse what Jacob did to himself.

Hydro looked at his opponent a very tall and well built black man. Jacob had to crane his neck upwards just to make eye contact with this man, who towered over him. “You’re a big fella aren’tcha. Don’t worry I got good old righty here to deal with you. But more to the point what you doing here huh? Is that, is that a gun?! Wait you’re robbing this store aren’t you? At this hour?! It's like what?” Hydro glanced at the clock on the wall at the store. “Two in the morning? Jeez is it that late. Well I digress. I only came in here for some cider and chips and I have to deal with this. Never a days rest for me. Hydro.”

The black man looked down at Jacob the cogs in his head processing all the Hydro had said. Hydro was in uniform in fact to a passerby they would probably think that it was him robbing the store not the towering giant with the sawn off shotgun beside him. The black man finally stopped thinking as he realised that he was Hydro. Pointing the gun at Hydro’s chest he pulled the trigger. The sound of the shotgun being fired was deafening causing the cashier who had been standing their with their hands up to scream and duck under the counter. Hydro looked down at his stomach as water dripped from the holes. Smiling the holes quickly dissipated as his body returned to normal.

“Jokes on you buddy, that kind of attack won’t work on me.” The giant refused to believe this and clubbed Hydro over the head with the gun. His head was destroyed completely with a loud splash, water covering and dripping down the glass door of the store. Hydro reached for his head that no longer existed his arms moved around frantically then stopped holding up a finger as his head reformed on his body. Crossing his arms he looked at the thug like a parent would look at a misbehaving child. “You’ve had your fun. Now surrender before I beat five shades of shit into you I want to get my chips and drink and head home.”

The thug still didn’t comprehend that Hydro couldn’t be stopped by him and continued to try to bash his head and body with the butt of the shotgun. Hydro’s body constantly regenerating itself as the thug continued his assault on Hydro’s body to no avail. Sighing he increased the density in his right fist and punching the man in his face, knocking him off his feet and onto the floor. Clapping his hands together he chuckled at the unconscious thug. “Hey clerk dude. You alright?”

The store clerk looked up from the counter fear in their eyes and nodded slowly. “Yeah i’m alright. Are you robbing me too?”

Hydro acted taken aback. “No! Of course i’m not trying to rob you. Is it the balaclava? I bet it’s the balaclava. Well i’m not a very imaginative person so I couldn’t come up with a sexy mask so I stuck with a balaclava. By the way you’re welcome. Also how much is your cider and cheese doritos?” Hydro placed the items on the counter and reached for his wallet. “Ah shit. I left my wallet at home. See buddy problem with being made out of water is that clothes end up getting very wet when I use my abilities. I’ll get it some other time. Oh and you better call the police as he won't remain unconscious forever.”

Hydro pointed at the unconscious man on the ground and sauntered out of the store heading home for the night. Or morning as it was around two in the morning.

True Name:Odette Favre

8tracks Playlist

Alias: The Ambassador of the Fair Folk, The Faerie Mistress, The Ambassador

Speech Color: Thistle

Character Alignment: Chaotic neutral - Villain

Identity: Known

Character Personality: A rather reserved figure with a prankster’s sense of humour, years spent amongst the Fey have rubbed off on her in more ways than one. A well-placed bucket of water or spicy food will have her collapsed in a fit of giggles. Unassuming in her appearance, Odette often takes advantage of her foes immediate underestimation. When all pretences are dropped she has a rather condescending attitude. Can come off rather patronizing without being aware of it.

With few human friends, often kept up for appearances or networking with other ballet dancers. She shows them a front of a thoughtful and caring woman with great tastes in fashion, food and trendsetting. She has a decent twitter following. The only exception to that is Kendra Umbra, a close friend and colleague.

Her real name and other personal information are known publicly to humans, but her work as the Ambassador are entirely secret. To the Fey, names can result in power in their realms. As soon as she crosses the border she refers to herself only as The Ambassador. She makes use of illusion spells, usually casting fogs or charms that make her appearance or face easily forgettable to any curious eyes.

Her focus and sheer strength of will make her an excellent spell caster, unshakable in her confidence. A sharp memory, she has memorized her favourite spells and personal incantations. At home her shelves are filled with a few grimoires she has written and others she has purchased. With a few exceptions she keeps her main grimoire on hand for more complicated spells or spells she doesn't use that often to warrant memorization. A copy of it remains hidden and safe, her secrets and knowledge safeguarded. On her person she keeps her smartphone with a few notes and minor spells, and a smaller notebook. Avidly prepared no matter where she goes.

She lacks considerable amounts of empathy for her fellow human being, often has to remind herself to react appropriately. However she cares deeply for her connection to the Fey. Personally takes their affairs and bargains seriously. Well versed in rules, lore and expectations of the Fey she is polite to a fault. Manners matter, easily repulsed by crude behaviour or language.

Hero Type: Mystic/Acrobat

Power Level:
City Level – Influence and Power
World Level (depending on her work with the leylines)

Powers:

Opening Rifts/Door Ways– Traversing Fey Realms
->Adept to finding cracks and bleeding spots along Earth's leylines. Using them to open rifts to create a doorway. Typically opening doors to Faerie Realms where she knows she is safe and can travel along the Arcane Stream without trouble. Opening rifts takes considerable amounts of concentration and invocation of the Arcane Stream. Once the rift is open she creates a door able to open and close the rift at will. Akin to stepping in and out of a river. After opening a rift and creating a door, she needs to eat either a high protein bar or sit down for a meal.

Spell Casting
-> Has an impressive repertoire of spells memorized. She uses Words of Power to give her spells intention and power. Until they are spoken they have no power. Locator spells, levitation spells, illusion spells, minor healing spells, magical ward and trap spells. Largely depending on what it is she influencing or changing she would rely on Bach's magic reservoir to complete the spell.

Fundamental-Elemental Manipulation
-> Basic manipulation of the magical elements. Air and Water, able to change the temperature of air and water. Elemental magic takes a lot of concentration and power, i.e if she whips up a storm it'll take a full day of rest to be back to normal. While possessed by Bach she has mastery over Earth elemental magic. Able to grow trees from seeds, at full power possible to rattle tectonic plates.

Luck absorption (Range about 25 ft)
-> Pretty straightforward, a boon from Fey royalty imbued to her soul. She absorbs the luck of anyone near by. Influencing her chances at survival, winning a game, not getting caught, dodging a nasty attack etc...

Item Enchantment (shoes for high jumping ability, broom sticks for flight, etc…)
-> Able to enchant items and objects with magical purpose. Small time stuff barely registers as a use of energy. Bigger objects and intentions take more energy.

Summoning Fey, Fey Spirits
-> Largely depending on her relationship with the Fey she is summoning she simply invites them through sigil usage. Draws their sigil and calls to them. Larger or more powerful Fey are hardly under her control while small time sprites obey her commands. She never summons a Fey that she doesn't know personally.

Multi Linguist
-> Fluent in French (native), English and Common Fey. Bach however translates and speaks many more Fey languages for Odette.

Attributes:
Strength Level: Athletic (disciplined ballet dancer) when possessed by Bach, 30.
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Normal human when possessed by Bach, 40
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Trained dancer, above average for human, when possessed by Bach 3 hours.
Agility: Normal human, possessed by Bach x5.
Intelligence: Above average, incredible instincts for when someone is lying or have bad intentions. Skills she picked up with years of dealing with the Fey, tricky and untrustworthy by nature.
Fighting Skill: Trained. When she became involved in crime she knew she couldn’t rely on good luck alone to get out of a fight. Learned self defence.

Resources: High, lives well based off her income as a successful ballet dancer and the profit she makes from her work with the Shroud.

Weaknesses:

Magic Limitations: Her magic is limited to how well rested she is and her calorie count for the day. Even when drawing on her connection to Bach it takes a good night sleep and a meal to fully recharge from a fight. Pushing past those limitations can result in fainting, bloody noses, worst case scenario coma or spontaneous combustion depending on the energy output.

Possession: When possessed by Bach she has typical Fey weaknesses to iron, for Bach being an Earth Fey he has an aversion to fire.

Human constraints: Being a typical human being, even with insanely good luck a bullet or bad fall could be the end of her.

Polite to a Fault: Unlike Fey she is not bound to correct mannerisms and precise speech. Though she respects those same guidelines and lives by them. Any foe smart enough to use them against her can and will be successful. i.e no harm can befall a guest in her home, gifts of virtue or boons must be well received then repaid in kind no exceptions, handshakes are binding, etc...

The Yew Tree: At the beginning of their pact, Bach and Odette planted a Yew sapling directly on a leyline outside of Paris. It not only symbolises their pact but acts as a construct of Bach's connection to his home realm. It's a source of power and a significant doorway to his realm. They have shrouded it with every protection spell they know as well as safeguards against natural disaster. Only Bach and Odette know of it's importance it is a very well kept secret.

Do you know how to post pictures on RPG boards?: Yes

-1 Month Prior to the Riots-

The skyline in Paris was marvelled by millions as the sun set again for the day. For native Parisians it was a sign of comfort and signalled the beginning of its active nightlife. Coffee shops and restaurants lit up in response to the fading light. Along the cobblestoned streets in the old quarter, where everyday business owners raised the price of a cup of coffee to gouge locals and tourists alike.

A young woman with bright blue hair, eyes and bright pink lips sat outside one of these restaurants perched on the edge of her seat seemingly invested in the newspaper she had opened in front of her. Any regular onlooker would assume she was a high fashion debutant, more concerned with Fashion week than with current events. Who was paying for her expensive choices? A pair of rich parents or was she acting the part of a trophy wife. They were half right. The wars of man and its tragedies hardly caught her attention. The plea of refugees, war crimes and disease could not and would not move her to even care let alone react appropriately.

Assumptions from strangers did not register nor did they matter, not to her. However her attentions were on avidly listening to the small sprites whispering in her ear, invisible to everyone untouched by the Fey. They were giving her updates to where her next pick up would be found. Rising with the grace and dignity disciplined with years of ballet. Tonight when the sun dipped below the horizon she would take a quick walk then taxi ride to the edge of the city.

When she met with her clients, they were unnerved but polite greeting the woman. They spoke English with distinct American accents.

"Madame Ambassador." A tall scruffy gentleman in an ill fitted suit greeted her.

Smiling gently in hopes to ease their apparent fear, "Bonsoir, gentlemen."

They bowed their heads in respect; already she knew they were warned aptly of her expectations.

"Where are we heading to tonight?"

"Back to the states, ma'am. The Cowl is calling in his agents to start something big in Lost Haven." The tall man replied.

She nodded acknowledging his reply then said quietly, "The Cowl always has his plans. There is no time like the present so we shall depart shortly, sirs. I must warn and you must listen to what it is I am about to tell you."

They nodded in unison.

"You will be departing Earth as we know it and entering realms of true danger. While you are with me there is considerable protection. I have successfully escorted men and goods through these realms multiple times. But do not mistake me when I say you are not safe."

The men exchanged a look of fear as the young woman turned her back lifting her hands up to the sky already at work searching for her doorway. Her hands glowed with a misty blue while rapid fire French called for invocation. Light split in front of her blinding the men. A ragged strip of space opened in front of them as power flowed out of the arcane stream. The power flowed through her as a door took shape.

Immense concentration furrowed her brow while the final touches of the door formed.

"Now, gentlemen. We are ready. Follow me and stick close. Do not touch, do not linger and most importantly do not fear. For the Fey they know and will surely descend upon you. There is little I can do stop the dark Fey from devouring your very souls when they catch a strong scent of fear. I only hope for your sakes that it is a quick death."

Showing a toothy smile she opened the door with vigour, "Come, Lost Haven awaits us."

Character you have created: Benjamin Ethan Reeves
Alias: These are usually given by others.
School: Spoiled Rich Brat, Ben
While in werewolf form: Mutt, Huge Ass Dog, Stray, and a few other choices and lame namesakes thanks to the ignorant
people of New York’s lesser educated.
Speech Color (Actually say what you're using): Chocolate
Character Alignment: Hero
Identity: Secret
Character Personality:

Benjamin’s personality is what someone would call a true Aries as he displays both the bad and good qualities that make up the zodiac sign. If anyone was a literal definition of the sign, it would be him.

To those he’s attached and chosen to become friends with, they will see his generous and enthusiastic nature. His optimism in a negative situation or setback is often shining bright even if it's not in the expected or chipper tone most people use. In addition to this, he’s got an independent streak when it comes to getting things done and when he wants to, finding excitement in seeing the completing of goals rather than meeting the end results. This often leaves him jumping from one project to another due to his impulsive nature, especially if the task shows little to no progress when it comes to feeding his satisfaction. It’s during that sensation that he’s most likely to drop it complete unless someone can redirect his attention and spark interest again.

When he is forced into a situation where he feels trapped or stuck, Ben becomes moody and short-tempered. His attitude often venting out on whoever, and sometimes whatever, is nearby. If it is built up longer enough, he has a habit of becoming violent on instinctive causing him to lash out should someone attempt to comfort him with touch. Often his words in these moments aren’t clearly thought out or the consequences considered, creating guilt and regret when Ben recalls these moments and especially when he’s reminded of them. Only his few true friends can understand and look pass these eruptive moments to stick him by.

Underneath the hard earned image he has chiseled out for himself, lays a heart that holds great courage. This bravery also feeds his impulsive nature and passion in what he does. That one trait can hurt him because he easily can become derailed from his goal or aid him in spur of the moment decisions, usually helping him to get over unexpected road bumps coming his way. His passion carries him through challenges to get things done, usually with the aim of completing them quickly as possible.

As mentioned before, he does have a generous nature. However, it can and most the time does include himself when it comes to the thought. It’s an ingrain habit that he usually thinks about his friend’s influences on him, his happiness and in what ways. When a problem arises connected to them in any form, he’ll usually push to confront them or make his attempt to solve the issue behind their back. Either way, he doesn’t come off well and it often ends up in an aggressive and moody fight, one that will test or break his friendships.

Uniform/costume:

The bad thing about being a werewolf is when he shifts. It tends to shred everything. That makes it pretty much impossible to wear any attire when Benjamin goes completely wolf as the thing ends up becoming nothing more than rags at the end of the day. Nothing he has tried has shown to be able to conform and meld with his physical shape, not even the fashion retardness of spandex.

So, he has decided it was just better to go all wolf and use that to hide his identity. Most people would assume he was stray canine if they ever saw him, despite his much larger size when hunched down on all fours.

When fully wolfed out, Benjamin's height grows to about 6’2” giving him a looming appearance against the average man. His natural fur is a tarnish blonde with a white underbelly, under jaw, chest, and lower limbs. For most people, when he’s hunched down on all four, he looks like a rather large dog. He reaches about the waist of the average man in this position.

Like many newly turned werewolves, his eyes are an almost electrical blue and in the following months will edge to a golden yellow. Black outlines his wolfen eyes and give off an almost human sensation to them. His hand are a cross between human and wolf, there being four finger digits and one thumb with thick pads on the inside hand. There’s two sets along the finger digits, one on the thumb tip and about three on the main hand.

Bio

Benjamin, or Ben as he’s often called by his peers, is the iconic rich boy. The boy with money, good looks and almost everything any teenager could ever want. When the public, from the media to his school mates, look at him they see a kid that never had to work a hard day in his life to earn what he wanted or felt the sense of failure gripping his soul. For the most part, they would be right. He is spoiled and has high tastes in quality and expectations, through he has known loss unlike those whose lives were completely and utterly perfect.

Being the single child of the New York District Attorney and an art director for the NYC museum for fine arts, Ben grew up in Bayside, Queens all his privileged life and goes to the private academy called McArthur Academy for Higher Education. There he was the popular kid that everyone seemed to want to be. The boy without a care or worry, ready to take risks to get what he wanted as he saw the thrill of the chase being the best part. Through this was the outside mask he often displayed to the outside world. If they would peel back the layers of his family dynamic and see the truth: the grass was rarely greener on the other side.

It was a cold, December day when the wreck happened changing his life from its near perfection to a tragic roller coaster of emotion. His grandparents on his mother’s side had come to New York to spend the holidays and to see his first piano recital, his mother driving them all -save for his father- to the school. It was terrible weather where icy winds whipped through the towering buildings and hurt visibility for most drivers. A drunk man at the wheel of a semi-truck collided head on and crushed their little car, the truck’s front literally parked on the hood where most the occupants were killed instantly. Rosalie, his mother, was the only survivor.

She was his foundation. Being the primary parent in his life, Ben was at lost for words upon seeing his mother in a death like coma shortly after the accident. So lost in his own pain, he barely recalled the press trying to push in for snapshots of him sitting, depressed and holding her lifeless hand. Or the fact his father’s hand rested on his shoulder during it. Their image was placed on the newscast for weeks that followed, the tragic story about her grief stricken husband running for the DA office and loving son Benjamin Reeves. It was a nightmare for the boy while he tolerated the interviews, lurking media and worse.

It was a month later when they finally ceased. On the second month, Daniel Reeves decided it was time to let his wife move on to greener pastures. He ordered the treatment on his wife stopped and the tubes taken out. The doctors recorded her death three hours later when they rolled her to the morgue, storing her for the funeral a week later. It was a mournful moment for Ben as he was never be allowed to say good bye, denied by his own father, still a stranger claiming to be a parent on legal paper, since he was away at school trying to learn how to move on. Any respect he held for his father was gone that day.

Barely a year passed before he watched his mother become replaced by some whorish slut named Lorrie Hart, a woman about a decade younger than his father.

At first, things were fine since his father allowed Ben his independent streak and enabled them to avoid each other most the time. In the spotlight, they had the ideal father-son relationship. What the media wouldn’t pay to discover it was all an act he often mused.

It was about two years and a month when his father finally become engaged to the Ms. Hart, though Ben suspected it was to gain a bigger political vote for his future position into the Mayor’s office. Not that it would surprise him. The moment the woman came into his father’s household, things rapidly changed. At first, her methods were subtle. She wanted to be his friend and get to know him better, his father rarely mentioned the boy to her, as she sought to be get cozy. It rubbed him wrong causing his moodiness and aggression to butt heads with her.

A week passed and she was already working on manipulating his father. His mother’s presence, her things and little trinkets that gave him comfort, were starting to be removed from the house. When she caught him trying to move his mother’s old jewelry box down into his room, Lorrie confronted him. Since then she’s stalked his movements, began to take away his freedom and gradually had him moved down into the basement where he often found she locked him in there at night.

He hasn’t any idea what she’s planning but he’s got a bad feeling about it.

Hero Type (Select one): Supernatural- American Werewolf subspecies.

Power Level (Select one below): Street/City Level

Powers (Be Specific):
Being a werewolf, Ben has two modes he can flip from at will when he learns how to. When he is completely human, he looks like a normal teenage with limited healing rate and enhanced senses. The anthro mode is described in the costume section while his human form is in the Original Details/Origins section.

Skills Learned
Computer Software/Hacking (adept)
Hot wiring vehicles (novice)
Parkour (novice in human form)
Lying (highly skilled)
Dirt bike/stunt ability (highly skilled)
Piano (highly skilled but rusty)

Attributes (Select one at each category):
All these are while Ben is in wolf form.

Strength Level:Without stress he can lift up to 5 tons, but pushed to the limit he can lift up to 10 though he risks snapping something.
Speed/Reaction Timing Level:

  • With training speed Ben’s is about 5x faster than humans, making time slow slightly and enables quicker acknowledgement to the threats. However being able to dodge or count them is another matter. Presently, since he's untrained, his reaction is only 2x faster.
  • When it comes to his speed, in a trot he can reach up to 5 mph and causally cover wide areas of ground in a single day without rest. When in a flat out run he can reach up to 25 mph, with a few bursts of 45 mph for 1-2 minutes, before he nears exhaustion and risk collapsing.

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort:

  • In a steady, easily going trot Ben can cover miles in a day’s time before he needs to rest. This stands to reason with lax and less
  • During non-stop and stressful activity, his endurance lasts about 3-4 hours. However afterwards he will collapse from complete exhaustion and feel ravenous, reverting back to human.

Agility: 2x that of a normal human, usually when in a flat out run such as rushing over objects like trash cans, buildings, etc or people.
Intelligence: Smart for his age, but not a genius level individual. Underestimate him at your own peril.
Fighting Skill: Untrained

Resources:
Small

Being a kid, he’s got his own things from high tech computer to his own car (BMW 5 Series). However he doesn’t have a source of income other than what his father allows within a bank account on a weekly basis. Meaning while he has a lot of cash to burn, there’s still a limit and if he’s not careful his funds could dry up quickly forcing him to ask his father for more. A matter he rather avoid.

Weaknesses:

Being a breed of werewolf, there are ways to counter this ability. It also works in his both forms but in different ways, his human form being the most vulnerable to the substances. Strangely enough, Ben is unable to detect them with his sense of smell and it could be related to it being his breed’s weakness toward it.

  • Silver: Most werewolves are allergic to silver, through fortunately for Ben’s breed isn’t not fatal on instant contact and would take large amounts to become it.
In his human form it causes severe allergic reactions such as swelling on the location where the metal comes into contact. If injected/ingested, it could cause his throat to swell shut and breathing to be impossible unless an adrenaline is injected into his system boosting his immunity which will open his airways.

In his wolf form, this can easily paralyze and slow Ben’s healing rate, but the purity of the metal determines the healing power and time it lasts. The more pure the silver is, the longer the effects last and sooner it takes effect. Pure silver can take effect within at least a minute depending on Ben’s condition.

For any reason, should pure, liquified silver get into his blood system (digestion or something) when a wolf then it will paralyze Ben up to a day. Large amounts will kill him, such as a quarter of a pint or more, unless it’s purged from his system quickly and in about 3-4 hours.
  • Wolfsbane- herb: A weak smelling herb that is a strong and slow poison. It’s believed to be so lethal to a werewolf that a tablespoon worth sprinkled inside a bullet and shot into the target will kill even an alpha in half a day’s time. Any smaller amount will only cripple the wolf for several days, making them helpless and feeling like they wish they were dead. It can be cured through magical/unnatural means or even when a werewolf is laid out under a full moon, allowed to undergo extreme transformation thanks to the moon’s radiation.
  • Full Moon- Every American werewolf must answer the call of the moon as its radiation fills them with an immerse and sudden surge of energy, their bodies unable to contain their wolf forms while underneath its pale light. New wolves have the hardest time since their animalistic side is most frenzied and frighten during this time so many newly made wolves depend on their pack mates to keep them from injuring themselves during this period. After a few moons (6 moons), the eyes turn a yellow declaring them an adult.

It’s unknown why, but when someone is bitten beneath a full moon they have a percent of becoming werewolf depending on the species of werewolf.
  • New Werewolf Syndrome (NWS): When a human is turned into a werewolf, they develop something called new werewolf syndrome which happens with all newly turned. Changes are unpredictable as they aren't just affected by the moon and decision, but emotion as well. This factor is worsened by the fact all newly turned wolves became moody for about six months and will taper off when they reach adulthood.

Supporting Characters (Does your character have a significant other? A mother? Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?):

Family (intermediate):

Alive

Daniel Reeves-35……...Father
Job: DA of New York, recently elected.
Relationship Strength: Weak father and son bond, Ben obeys him to the barest degree only because his mother wanted him to respect the man.

Lorrie Hart (Scorpio)-26……...Stepmother to be
Job: Trophy Wife
Relationship Strength: Weak, Ben actually hates her due to her manipulative and controlling behavior.

Deceased

Anthony Reeves-56……...Grandfather
Sophia Reeves(surname: Morris)-59……...Grandmother
Rosalie Reeves (surname Snyder)-32……...Mother

Additional details: Mother was in a coma for about a week, then taken off where she died about five hours later. It was a slim chance she would’ve made it without any permanent brain damage or would’ve been the same before the accident so Benjamin's father believed this was a mercy for his wife’s spirit. However, Benjamin secretly blames himself for her death and has bitterness toward his father for allowing her to be taken off the machines without his knowledge, denying him his last goodbye.

Friends

Benjamin doesn’t have any close friends, their only reasons to associate to him are self gain and manipulation reasons. Usually because their parents are hoping to have an excuse to get close to his father. Little do the ‘click’ he usually hangs around with know, he’s actually using them so he’s not lonely.

(Will likely update this later with images and add more over time)

Desmond Hargraves - Closest to a best friend, his father is an assistant attorney working with Ben’s dad.
Alyssa Kinser- Roland’s girlfriend and rather prissy sob, her mother owns numbers of shares in companies like Midas Industries and other organizations. Ben hates her guts and the feeling is mutual.
Nathan Giavonna & Bradley Giavonna- The swim team twins and part of his click, through they are more numbskulls than any interesting company.
Emma Gracia- House Keeper.

Character you have created: Barron Vanderbilt

Alias: Barron is the only name he is known by however it is presumed that it is not his real name. No one not even his wife knows his true name.

Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not): See either the "Formatting Cheatsheet" (for convenience during posting) or the Guild's Color Guide (for a preview of what the colors will look like in a post) for possible colors, see CSes to note what's currently in use and what is still available. Is this available?

Character Alignment: Villain

Identity: His name is known just not currently as a Major Villain. That will change as he begins to act openly.

Character Personality: Egotistical, power hungry and cruel. Barron has wanted one thing and one thing only for a long time, true power. He comes from a world devastated by destruction brought about by man, radiation and power rule the wastes. He and his wife Carol have come to resent these humans of this new world their self indulgence and ignorance of their own planet’s destruction have driven these two who feed off each other’s personalities to desire to amass power and wealth so they could conquer this world.

As violent as Barron can be he rewards those who are useful to him, and is regarded as a decent boss never raising his hand against those who work well under him, yet never allowing himself to seem weak. He’ll kill those who fail him too many times and depending upon how they failed him he could kill them outright without warning.

He surrounds himself with the finer things in life, the best alcohol, dapper clothes and expensive baubles.

Uniform/costume: Dapper Mobster clothing.

Origin Info/Details: Barron is the victim of a rip in time and space. He and Carol were ripped from their own dimension a world devastated by atomic mutual destruction. A Lead Mystical Scientist working for Vlad Tepes was sure he could control and open a stable gateway between dimensions and as his test progressed it ran into several errors. In the process of shutting it down it had torn open a portal and two people were snatched from their dimension. Barron Vanderbilt a man who had risen to power by running the casino Gomorrah in New Vegas after the former bosses met an unfortunate accident.

Barron grew up in a normal home to post apocalyptic standards and after Raiders ransacked his family farm something inside himself snapped, after killing his own parents he ran a raider gang for some years, and came across New Reno and the power the Crime Bosses had was staggering and he wanted it he wanted it all. It was also where he would meet his future wife, Carol Bates whose father ran the Gun Runners in the area. He and Carol would go on to attempt to take New Reno but the Crime Bosses were onto him. Driven from New Reno Barron and Carol packed up and fled to New Vegas where Barron had friends in Gomorrah who met an untimely end. Here Barron would rise in power and plan his move to take Vegas.

He had all the pieces in place to make his move as Barron began his assault on Vegas war broke out on the streets and explosions bombarded the buildings that was when the sky quite literally opened Barron stood next to Carol in amazement as everything stopped and the sky swallowed them whole. The transferring of Dimensions was not an easy one as not only were Barron and his wife ripped from their dimension but so too was rubble and explosive debris causing major damage to the lab and nearly left Barron dying in the process.

A stable portal between worlds would have given Vlad the power he needs to be completely unopposed by the world powers. Sure they fear him now but the rise of Metas and Superheroes have begun to level the playing field. Unlimited access to the technology and resources of other worlds would ensure that he and his kind not only thrived for all time but dominated in case the world decided to retaliate. Not only has the experiment failed but due to their negligence two individuals were nearly killed something his pride wouldn’t let him ignore. Against his better Judgement he saved them from Death’s grasp by making a last minute decision to turn them into Vampires.

Fast forward five years later and Barron runs a Crime Ring in Vegas out of a casino called Gomorrah. He has plans to expand his operations.

Hero Type (Select one):
Supernatural: Elder Blood Breed Vampires

Power Level (Select one below):
C. World Level (Ex. Flash, Superman)

Powers (Be Specific):

Near Invulnerability. As a Elder Blood Breed Vampire plain physical attacks have little effect on them. Exposure to their Key weaknesses can make them more vulnerable.

Magical Affinity. As a Vampire they have the ability to cast magic spells and effects. Charm spells and polymorphism are the most common but they can utilize destruction and status spells that can put people to sleep or bind them.

Telekinetic Feeding. As an Elder Blood Breed they can feed from a farther distance pulling the blood in a stream thus increasing their powers. This can also turn victims into Mindless Ghouls to be used to distract enemies. Elder Blood Breeds don’t need to feed but it’s like a alcohol and it does charge them giving them more power to an extent.

Inhuman Strength.

Inhuman Speed.

Claws and Fangs.

Near Immortality. Elder Blood Breed Vampires will not age, nor will they die unless weakened first.

Attributes (Select one at each category):

Strength Level: 70 tons. Possibly more if well fed.

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 90 + possibly more if well fed.

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Normal Human, 2, 3, 4, 5 hours.

Agility: 15X a normal human

Intelligence: Average

Fighting Skill:Trained They have basic training to understand their powers but have not lived long enough to master their abilities.

Resources: Large. Barron runs a Casino as a front and traffics illegal contraband and magical items to those who pay.

Weaknesses: Sunlight, crosses, holy water, and prayer. Those who specialize in Vampire hunting or those Holy Men who have a strong faith can weaken Vampires sometimes significantly although that depends of the Type of Vampire and Level of Faith. Also those who have holy artifacts or those who can cast Divine Magic.

Depending upon the method used, Elder Blood Breeds can receive various forms of damage. Sunlight constantly weakens and drains them of energy. Like a Marathoner running 16 Marathons back to back No matter how much blood one drinks eventually they’ll run out of energy.

The Presence of Crosses can allow their invulnerable bodies to sustain damage. Same for Prayer.

Divine Magic can be utilized in a myriad of ways. From weakening to sealing, to outright killing them. It depends on the skill and of course time and faith but Divine magic can be a powerful weapon against the cursed and undead.

Supporting Characters: Carol Bates or Carol Vanderbilt.

Character: John Eden

Alias: Locomotive

Color: Goldenrod

Alignment: Hero

Identity: Secret

Uniform: Locomotive

Personality: By effect of the super steroids that are constantly supplied into his blood stream, John has become somewhat short tempered and oft angered. There are many perils of being a superhero -- sworn to protect the innocent -- when you have anger issues. It is something that John had attempted to weed out, in order to make himself a more pure hero. However, it has stuck to him like a fly on honey, and rather than challenge it and cause inner turmoil amidst himself, he has accepted it and taken it one step further by allowing it to help him be what he wants to be -- a hero. As often as he can, John is a man of principles. He will not kill unnecessarily, and the like; however, at times his anger can get the best of him, and he slips up from his moral code. In the same vein, he can be stubborn and butt heads with others, unwilling to budge on his viewpoint. The super steroids make him quite a disagreeable person, often angered by even the slightest of things. In spite of this, he is altruistic at heart, always wanting to help others in any way he can. He may have his flaws, but he has a good heart and good intentions, which, to him, is what matters in the end; right?

Outside of his jacked up, 'roid pumping hero state, John is generally friendly, always looking out for his friends and just others in general. He's the type of guy you would bump into on a side walk and walk away thinking to yourself, "Well that guy was awfully nice." He likes to joke around and make sure everyone is satisfied and having fun; in other words, he's pretty much just an all around nice dude.

Origin: John's family roots stretch all the way back to the 1800s; his Great Great Grandfather Carter Eden was an Irish immigrant who, desperate for money, was a railway worker. By some stroke of luck, or perhaps destiny, Carter Eden's circumstances had allowed to take control of the railway company for which he had worked for (the details of the transaction are murky to this day), and renamed the budding company Eden Railways and Locomotives, often simply referred to as Eden Railways. The railway company expanded slowly but surely, steadily becoming one of the premier locomotive and railway companies on the eastern side of the Mississippi. John's Great Grandfather, Joseph Eden, took after him, becoming the new head of Eden Railways after his father's passing. Then after Joseph Eden followed his son, and so forth, following down the long lineage of Edens, until the railway company reached the hands of John's father; Henry Eden.

With the era that the Eden railway company had economically dominated, the age of the steam locomotive, disappearing fast in the rear view mirror, Henry Eden recognized that the company needed to scale back. Henry's plans for the company called for them to become more focused and centralized, serving a more niche audience, seeing as the company did not have the economical reserves to serve such a mass customer base any more. Thus, the company became solely based out of Henry's home state; Maine. Soon Eden Railways became an easily recognizable name in Maine, instating almost a monopoly on the railways and subways from city to city. Henry built a main station in Lost Haven, a central point for trains going all over, from the other side of the state, to the other side of the city. Chances were if you were riding a train in Maine, you were probably riding an Eden Railways train.

As did the many men before him in his lineage, Henry Eden left ownership of the company to his son John Eden. John, at 24, who had been working at the Haven station and working on and and around trains his entire life, was more than qualified to run the business. He became one of the youngest millionaires in Lost Haven, due to his unique inheritance. Despite his new found influence and money, Henry remained a people's man; still taking time out of his day to conduct a few trains a day (didn't want to lose touch with his company!) and often would make small talk with the myriad of passengers that would board the trains; little did they know, the kind young man they had just met owned the subways and trains they used to get to work everyday.

The day that the violent hero Locomotive was born from such a kind and gentle young man -- "Oh, he would never even hurt a fly!" -- on a muggy and humid August day. After a brutal crime wave in Lost Haven, John was doing as he always does, operating one of the trains, chatting with passengers, and the like. On this train, however, a man attempted to kidnap a woman's daughter at one of the stops. John, horrified that something of the sort would happen on his train, under his watch, attempted to go after the crook. However, for whatever reason, he wasn't strong enough or perhaps John wasn't fast enough, the man managed to get away. The daughter who he had made off with had been found dead with three stab wounds two weeks later. This news was crushing to John, knowing he could have done something but he fell just short of being able to stop him.

These events spurned John to find a way to become better, stronger, faster, in order that next time, he would be able to stop the criminal before they got away. This idea that a train full of people saw this man kidnap a child in broad daylight and he still never faced justice irritated John to no end. And thus, John began researching ways he could better himself, and in effect become a vigilante (although, at the time he did not think of it in such a way). He used his vast deposits of money to research possibilities, and after months of meticulously combing archives and record repositories, he finally found what he needed. He had found a research document in the main Lost Haven library's archives, a mention of an old scrapped government project that was nicknamed Super Steroids. Supposedly, the super steroids would allow super strength in the user, however the project was scrapped due to the fact that the drug had severe personality affects while one was under the drug. John dipped into his private funds to figure out how to make the supposed steroid serum, and once he had the recipe began to make his own batch.

Due to John's fidelity and consummate mechanical ability from his years with working with trains, John was able to construct a suit which would periodically distribute the super steroids through out his body whenever necessary through a series of tubings that stemmed from a large, thick copper pack that he would carry on his back (which would hold the steroids). Along with this, he fashioned a pair of iron-tech boots, which would aid him in speed and jumping. Lastly, he crafted a giant, extremely thick copper shield in the shape of a train, which, in theory would block bullets and cause them to ricochet back at the enemies. And thus, the Locomotive was born.

Hero Type: Brick \\ Muscle

Power Level: City

Powers:

  • Super Strength; As glaringly obvious as it may sound, John's diesel suit/pack, which is constantly pumping his body with a special mixture of adrenaline and a variation of super steroids, gives him the luxury of heightened strength. He can comfortably lift upwards of 70 metric tons (about the weight of a Boeing 787), and to take it even further he can in fact lift around 75 tons, however it is very taxing and comes with a great strain on him to do so. This is facilitated through the use of the pack and the various tubing throughout John's body, which are pumping the Super Steroids into his veins and capillaries, along with a healthy mixture of adrenaline to help boost his reaction speeds slightly. Without his suit constantly feeding him Super Steroids, John is still at peak human strength (700 lbs-800 lb range), due to the fact that the 'roids are still in his system despite the lack of the suit.

    • Super Jumps; By extension of his super strength, John has the ability to jump extraneous heights; upwards of sixty stories high. This is facilitated not only through his exorbitant physical strength but also compounded by the iron-tech boots he wears on his feet. They, in theory, possess the strength of a train and aid his jumps to allow him to jump such tall heights.
    • Enhanced Speed; As a result of his strength, stemming from his suit and pack, John is capable of running fast, his apex speed being up to 40 miles per hour. Adrenaline is pumped into his legs, which is then furthered by both his extremely strong muscles and his iron-tech boots which aid in his running to give extra strength to his legs and calves.

  • Locomotive Mode; When in a pinch, as a last resort John can activate his "locomotive mode" by turning a dial on his shoulder strap. Once activated, his body is pumped with unreasonably excessive amounts of super 'roids and adrenaline, leading to the side effect that his eyes begin to burn a ferocious orange. He is measurably stronger, being able to run clean through buildings, no sweat, and lift 100+ tons of weight. He is capable of reaching speeds of a locomotive train (65 MPH), hence the name. Due to the sheer amounts of adrenaline and steroids consumed by this mode, it is not sustainable for more than 10 minutes, and as a result, it leaves John dazed and weakened, possibly even unconscious. Thus, it is only used as a last ditch effort when John's back is to the wall.

Attributes:

Strength Level: 70-75 Metric Tons
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 40 Miles Per Hour
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 3 Hours
Character's Agility: Normal
Intelligence: Average
Fighting Skill: Trained

Resources: High, he is the owner of Eden Railways, the largest train company in New Jersey, and as a result is rife with money, transportation, and influence.

Weaknesses: For one, without his suit, John is not nearly as strong as he was. Whilst yes, he is at peak human strength without it, he is not capable of the colossal feats and gargantuan objects he can lift whilst wearing his suit. As well as this, one could possibly target his suit and pack in an attempt to debilitate his strength (although it would take finesse and proper timing to actually cut his tubings \ pack). In the same school of thought, one could activate the Locomotive Mode on his chest strap against his will -- which although would give him a boost for a few minutes, they would be able to take care of him when he is suffering from the after effects of the mode. TL;DR -- John is too reliant on his suit.

Supporting Characters:

Henry Eden // His father, who has since deceased, and left his train company to John in his will.
Tabitha Eden // John's mother, married to Henry Eden, who has tragically passed long ago to sickness

Sample Post:

John stood outside the brick wall of the building, in a dark alleyway, the concoction of steroids and adrenaline pulsing through every vein and every capillary in his body. The building had a rusted sign above it, which stood proud amidst the midnight sky, big block stencil letters reading, "JOE'S MEATPACKING." Henry knew it to be a front, the reality of which was that this building was a Mexican cartel hotbed -- he had followed one of their members earlier that day, as hard as it had been not to stop the grimy scoundrel where he stood and pound him to a bloody pulp, to hit him again, and again, and again, and again, and agai -- John quickly shook his head, to clear his conscience.

"You can't be letting that stuff get in your head," he muttered to himself, trying to dismiss the angry feelings he knew the steroids would bring on. It had been something he was working on, but it did not show any signs of subsiding.

John turned his attention back to the task at hand, pressing his ear to the brick wall. He heard the faint sound of music, barely penetrating the nigh impregnable thickness of the brick wall. He backed up, a few paces away from the wall, set his feet in preparation for what he was about to do. He raised his shield high, and charge directly into the brick wall, sending shards of brick flying and dust and mortar dust sailing as he broke clean through the wall and into the meat packing plant.

A disco ball was glistening about what had become a dancefloor, and rave music was screaming throughout the warehouse. The place reeked of alcohol, and towards the back of the room, John could make out what seemed to be quite a few kilos of cocaine. As he crashed through the brick wall, countless cartel members looked towards him stunned, frozen in disbelief.

"Sweet," he mumbled under his breath, and almost as if in response, the room erupted into complete and total chaos.

Cartel members, left and right, began grabbing whatever weapons they could find, whilst simultaneously yelling things in Spanish that John could not quite comprehend. Quickly, gang members began firing their sidearms at him, and in response, John lifted his shield high to deflect the bullets. He could really feel the adrenaline pumping through his blood now, and he was thankful that he had it to aid him in deflecting the bullets. He distinctly remembered a bullet ricochet off of his shield and pierce an attacker in his foot, leaving him down on the ground in agony. John deflected a bullet into one cartel member's leg, and another one into another attacker's shoulder, which gave him a little more room to work with. He lunged at a cartel member with his right arm, whilst simultaneously shielding his face from a hail of bullets with his left, shield holding, arm. He gripped the cartel member and violently threw him into the wall, leaving a head shaped valley in the wall, with his frustration clearly building.

He punched another cartel member in his gut, leaving him out for the count. He turned to the three remaining cartel members, all the while blocking their bullets. They crouched behind leaned over couches and tables, firing at him. John raised his shield high, and approached them ever so slowly, deflecting their bullets with his brass shield one at a time. As he approached the table they sat behind, they began to try and run away, clearly horrified by his brutish strength. He quickly bashed one over the head with his heavy shield, whilst grabbing another one by the arm and twisting it back wards. He managed to break the man's arm, however he was careful not to exert too much strength, and accidentally rip the entire arm off. He turned to the last one, who now simply dropped his weapons and was on his knees begging for mercy.

As he looked down upon this criminal, hate and loathing surged through his body, and anger quashed any hopes for mercy. His head began swimming in red as he thought of all that this criminal had done, and gotten away with; this gang was responsible for countless rapes and robberies in the neighborhood. He socked the man square in the nose, and blood began gushing out of it. He saw red as he began to beat the man, hitting him again, and again, and again, and again, and aga--

"-- STOP!" he yelled to himself, and the unconscious man who lay at his feet. He panted desperately, realizing that he had let the steroids' emotions get the better of him once more. This was becoming a real problem.

As he began walking out of the hole in the wall that he created just five minutes earlier, a voice croaked from one of the men he had taken out earlier, who lay still on the ground. If John remembered correctly, it was the man who had gotten one of his bullets deflected into his foot.

"Who are you...?" the man weakly croaked.

"The Locomotive. And don't you forget that name," he said, before briskly walking off.

Becouse 3 is a magic number

Character you have created: Johan “Rune” Falk
Alias: Runes. The Wandering Hand. The Kings Consort
Speech Color (Actually say what you're using): #99ebff
Character Alignment:Hero
Identity: Johan Falk
Character Personality:
Johan is a straight shooter at heart. He will not bullshit you if he doesn’t have to. He doesn’t make excuses, and he does not waver in his conviction. He is a gentle soul however, he just hides it behind a gruff, cynical shell. He carries tremendous pain from his failures, and is often forced to take solace in the company of others. His relationship with Nêuvan is a fickle one, as the King is not mortal and do perceive things the way a human does. While his love for Johan is real, it is not monogamous and it leaves Johan to seek company elsewhere.

Uniform/costume:

Johan dresses casual at all time. He wears what is sturdy and comfy, but always put on his black wool coot regardless of the weather. His beard is magnificent, his eyes the coldest blue. He looks like a modern day Viking in pretty much every regard aside his clothing.

Origin Info/Details:
A archeologist with personal demons and a list of tragedies behind him, Johan was consumed by his work. He was on the heels of a great discovery that so far had cost him everything. He had found evidence of the Vikings coming in contact with something otherwordly. To Johan who was one of the few who still believed in the Aesir, this was the confirmation he craved. In his research, he stumbled upon the art of Runemagic and found it not only fascinating but actually usefull. He began experimenting, using runes to draw upon arcane magic, like those priests of old. In his research, he came across the next clue to the Vikings mysterius ally.

His travels took him from Uppsala in Sweden, to the Northern most point of the Norwegian mountains. There he discovered a old abandoned temple not alike anything else he ever encountered. Instead of being dedicated to Odin, Thor or similair, it seemed to dedicated to something else entirely. Its insides were rimmed with permafrost, it's floor was smooth and carved out of the very mountain itself.

There he found a lone Runestone, larger then any he ever seen. And before lay what looked like a giant human skull. He had found a temple dedicated to the Joten. The Giants of Frost. Shocked by his discovery, he didn't know the earie glow of the walls around him. As he left in a hurry to report his findings, something stirred deeper inside the temple.

Outside a blizzard had arrived seemingly out of nowhere and it stranded the young archeologist. That's when he first heard it. The sound of a giant. Turning around, he stood face to knee with a massive humanoid. To this day he have no idea how he survived. Somehow, the runes he had sewn into his coat flared up with power from being in proximity of one of the old enemies of all Aesir. The battle was drawn out, the Giant toying with him. But in a bout of desperation he carved the rune for might into his palms. Saying the words of power to open the rune to the arcane stream, he was filled with power beyond comprehension. He slayed the giant somehow, he was to drunk on power to remember. But the giant had no arrived alone. The Joten came as massive, lumbering shadows within the blizzar. Their eyes full of cold, gleefull murder. In fear for his life he ran back inside the temple, only to find a secret entrence had opened. Having no choice but to go down the dark and unknown, he came upon a meadow and another world entirely. In it stood a creature so beutyfull he almost wept.

IT was the King of Elves, who had followed his exploits. He offered the young man clemency and education in the art of rune magic. In turn, he asked only that the human would follow him to his palace, and be loyal to him. In time, this loyalty became reverence and respect, which turned into a spark of mutual love. Over the course of ten years, Johan became a runemage of skill and reputation. He was also spoken about in hushed tones as the "Mortal lover" of their beloved king. Envy drove more then one challenger to Johans doorstep, and he bested them all. His prowess would net him the title "Kings Champion" and he began to represent the King outside the palace.

The day came where his King grew more distant, being a fickle creature. After it became to much to bare, Johan asked to be returned to his own realm. He was allowed passage home on the condition that he remained the Kings Champion, and became his Voice to the expatriats who chose to live amongst mortals instead of their fellow kin.

Hero Type (Select one):(Supernatural) Magician
Power Level (Select one below): City/World
Powers (Be Specific):
Runemage;
Being a runemage, he draws upon the power of the Arcane Stream trough talismans and words of power. His body is a conduit for his magic thanks the runes carved into his back. Trough them he can tap and fill whatever runic binding he has in hand. Notably his spear; Jutenbane and his coat.

Kings Voice; A gift given to him by Neuvean. When he speak elvish, he can compel creatures bound to his Kings realm to comply and follow his orders.

Magical Coat: His coat is embroidered from top to toe with runes. Due to the overspill of his magic, the coat is always at least a little charged. Fully powered, it protects him passively from any scrying, targeted spells and the like. At low power, it simply muddles those who try to divine his location.

Jutenbane A enchanted spear that can allegedly pierce any armor, veil or protection when “powered up”.

Runic Might During moments of extreme danger, Rune has the ability to draw upon the stream to a dangerous extent. He becomes superboosted and all his magic is increased thusandfold. In this state he becomes one of the most powerfull magicians in all the realms. Sadly, he can only maintain it for less then 15 minutes before the magic would consume his body. Just pushing ten minutes of it is enough to leave him comatose for a day.

Attributes (Select one at each category):
Strength Level: Human
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Human
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort:
Agility:Human
Intelligence: High, still human
Fighting Skill: He can put up a decent fight with his spear, due to his time with the Northern Fae. But there are many better fighters out there. He relies on his magic rather then anything more brutish.

Resources: Extensive. Being the lover and chosen Champion of the King of All Elves has it’s perks.
Weaknesses: For all intents and purposes, he is human.
Supporting:

Loiusa Falk; His younger sister. Firey, angry and the best cook he ever met.

Nêuvean Winterborn, The King of All Elves: The king of Alfheim rules the Nordic contingent of elves, and hold domain of pretty much all of Scandinavias’s trolls, elves, gnomes and other such creatures. He is the one who saved Rune from death, and who has protected and cared for him as the former grew acclimated. The two are lovers, a bond that persist even as Johan Traverse the mortal realm.

Josephine Hildebrand; A rival magician who detest Johan for taking “shortcuts” and becoming the Kings consort. Hildebrand herself is a necromancer, and a good one at that. She isn’t evil, but her position as a mage for hire makes her a far cry from being “Good”.
Humir; The prince’s exiled brother. Despises humanity as a whole, despises Rune in particular.
