The FFGB-Mexican Alliance

-The United Kingdom, France, and Mexico offer to act in each other's defense.
-We have free trade among our three nations.
-The United States of Mexico will not be required to pay their debt to the UK or France until they have a stable economy. Furthermore for joining their debt to the FFGB is cut in half. The definition of a stable economy is as follows,
``````Mexico's yearly income must reach 1k.
``````Mexico's debt is decreased by 1/4th
`````Mexico's economic growth must reach 1.10%
Upon achieving a stable economy, Mexico's yearly income will receive a tax of 10% to the FFGB until their debt to both Nations is paid. Should Mexico not achieve economic stability at the end of 15 years, they will revert to a colony under the control of the FFGB. (bigscreech has the option to continue controlling them if he wishes, just under the dominion of the FFGB).
The following ultimatum was delivered to the Danish Ambassador on January 19th, the year of our Lord 1862.
"In accordance with the repudiation of the treaty of London concluding the previous Prusso-Danish war, the Kingdom of Prussia declares the duchies of Schleswig, Lauenburg and Holstein to be independent and shall be administered to by Prussia until such time as a government shall be established capable of self-government under Frederick, Duke of Augstenburg. In achieving this goal, His Majesty King Wilhelm I demands the following of His Majesty King Frederick VII of Denmark:
1. All soldiers and ships owing allegiance to him shall be evacuated from all land south of the northern border of the ducky of Slesvig within 48 hours.
2. His Majesty shall invite within 48 hours of the receipt of this missive to meet representatives from all nations signatory to the Treaty of Constantinople (1861) as well as the Kingdom of Sweden and person as well as writing renounce on behalf of the House of Oldenburg and the Kingdom of Denmark any claim to the duchies of Slesvig, Lauenburg, or Holstein in perpetuity as well as formally acknowledge the legitimacy of the Prussian administration thereof.
Should either condition fail to be met within the allotted time, the Kingdom of Prussia shall have no other recourse but to employ military means against the King of Denmark, and any concessions at the end of that war will be much graver.
On my Royal authority,
[X] King Wilhelm I of Prussia"
Kaiserthum Oesterreich
The Austrian Empire
In the interest of protecting the majority German populations in Schleswig, Lauenburg, and Holstein, the Austrian Empire demands the transfer of these territories to the German Confederation under the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Prussia until such a time as a self-sustaining government may be established under Frederick, Duke of Augstenburg.
The Austrian Empire echoes the sentiments of the Kingdom of Prussia:
1. All soldiers and ships owing allegiance to him shall be evacuated from all land south of the northern border of the Duchy of Slesvig within 48 hours.
2. His Majesty shall invite within 48 hours of the receipt of this missive to meet representatives from all nations signatory to the Treaty of Constantinople (1861) as well as the Kingdom of Sweden and person as well as writing renounce on behalf of the House of Oldenburg and the Kingdom of Denmark any claim to the Duchies of Slesvig, Lauenburg, or Holstein in perpetuity as well as formally acknowledge the legitimacy of the Prussian administration thereof.
Should the Kingdom of Denmark not comply with these terms, the Austrian Empire and our allies in the German Confederation shall join the Kingdom of Prussia in a declaration of war.
In the interest of maintaining the Treaty of Constantinople, the United Kingdom supports the German Confederation in their demands. The United Kingdom demands the territories of Schleswig, Lauenburg, and Holstein be transferred to he Kingdom of Prussia until such a time as a self-sustaining government may be established under Frederick, Duke of Augstenburg.
The United Kingdom supports the stipulations given by our fellow signatories in the Treaty of Constantinople and should the Kingdom of Denmark not comply with these terms the United Kingdom will stand with the German Confederation.
Another day, another declaration of war upon our Republic! Now it is Greece. Oh, the irony of that once proud democracy declaring war upon the United States in a naked attempt for new land. They wade into this conflict, ignorant of any diplomatic fallout. And for what, gentlemen? The Ionian Islands?! Ha, four tiny specs of land will certainly not be worth the heartache this war will cause to Greece and its people. And Mexico has seen fit to saddle itself to the two-headed monster that is Britain and France. It is only a matter of time until they too declare war upon us, as well as the Southern rebels to reclaim the lands they lost in the war. We live in sad times, gentlemen. Liberty and freedom have been sold out, part and parcel for coin and land. The rest of the world seems to be against us and our noble endeavor. To the rest of the world I say that you will be judged, and you will be found wanting.
I Tsar Alexander II would like to congratulate the Russian people's for their support of the Emancipation of the Serfs and would like to say to all nobles and Land owners who refuse to acknowledge the passing of this act shall be severely punished equal to that of High Treason against the Russian State. We would Also like to congratulate the Brazilian Empire on their similar act and their steps toward the advancement of all the world's peoples. As to the Afghan people I very disheartened in their refusal to join the Russian Empire in Vassalage. Also we would like to announce to the Danish King Fredrick VII that he is smart to accept the Prussian terms or else face incredible losses that shall many times encompass your loss if you simply accept the offer.
An address given by Jnkr. Georg von Vincke to the Prussian Landstag
"In reflecting upon the current status of global affairs I find myself feeling the deepest of sympathies for that fledgling power, that latest entrant to the global stage: the United States of America.
In particular, the addresses of one Herr Stevens, in addition to Herr Lincoln's, I find myself reading ever more of. When I do, nostalgia washes over me, and in the comfort of my study chair I am taken back to that most bittersweet year, the year of our Lord 1848.
We had seen Liberty raise her light across the Atlantic. We saw that light again shine, albeit perverse and darker, in France. Across the world, from the southern tip of Patagonia to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, freedom was on the march. And how we wanted it!
We had fought our war of independence and beat back Bonaparte. We too were left with an ineffective confederation where the federal government was virtually non-existent. In this year, 1848, we had our own Constitutional Convention. The disparate peoples of Germany came together, overcame our masters, and offered to His Majesty Friedrich Wilhelm IV the crown of a nation united under principles of inalienable rights, to which he eventually and conditionally agreed.
We went to war, to free our oppressed brethren in Denmark, but the English intervened. Later, our best laid plans for our fragile federation were shattered by our former hegemons within the farcical German Confederation, the Austrians, encouraging dissolution of this union and calling for the balance of power to be maintained on our backs. The "nest of vipers" bit us first. In this way our two confrontations with the European establishment are related. Many of the Germans living in America right now face the same threat of foreign intervention and national dissolution that made them leave for America hoping for freedom in 1848.
The history of our German nation is forever marked by foreign intervention, be that English Hannover, the French Confederation of the Rhine, the Thirty Years' War. My nation can attest to those prophetic words, spoken first by the Lord and then Herr Lincoln: 'A house divided cannot stand'. So long as the other powers of Europe continue to prop up Austria, and stand ready to defend Austria, the German nation is forever prevented from achieving greatness. So I say to you, Herr Lincoln, remain vigilant. No matter how high the cost may grow, no matter if you must march your men over a road paved by the bodies of their kinsmen, no matter if the Chesapeake turns red with the blood of your bravest, stand firm. For twenty years and in six wars we fought Napoleon and we would have fought him for two hundred if that was the price demanded of us for freedom.
Finally, as I close, the words of a poet, writing in the midst of a life-or-death struggle his young country finds itself in spring to mind.
'O! sagt, könnt ihr seh'n in des Morgenroth's Strahl,
Was so stolz wir im scheidenden Ubendroth grüßten?
Die Sterne, die Streifen, die Wehnend von Wall,
Im tödlichen Kampf uns den Unblick verfüßten?
Hoch flattere die Fahne in herrlicher Bracht,
Beim Leuchten der Bomben durch dunkle Racht.
O! sagt, ob das Banner, mit Sternen befä't,
Ueber'm Lande der Freien und Braven noch weht?'
Unique among all the patriotic music I have heard, this song ends not with a statement, but a question, a question whose answer will forever alter the tide of history. Whether by example the Americans shall lift us up, or by defeat condemn the rest of civilization to a millennium of darkness, chains, and slavery. It is my sincere hope that the Great Experiment succeed, and that government of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from the Earth.
As we pray for your quest for unity, pray for ours, America."
Estados Unidos Mexicanos
I find the Unions rhetoric tiresome as it thinks that Mexico would join in and try to pilfer our lost territories in the wake of an open rebellion. I dear say that our nation has more honor then to try and annex parts of a nation that are in rebellion. Although it wasn't that long ago that the then United States of America annexed the territory of Texas that was in a state of open rebellion. "The harbinger of democracy" then went on to try and force our nation to sell Alta California and Santa Fe de Nuevo Mexico. When we refused the United States then went on to use the border dispute and brief skirmish near the Nuecas Strip as a convenient way to declare war on a fledgling nation. The rest is history and we where force to cede nearly half of our country for a mere 15 million dollars. This pittance would set our great nation back even more and set the seeds for our own civil war. Our nation in turn now owed a debt to Great Britain and France that seemed insurmountable to fully repay without further stalling the already barren Mexican economy. To our surprise the nations of Great Britain and France were sympathetic and offered Mexico an olive branch. This is more then I could say for the Union who preaches against the very same imperialism they inflicted upon us 13 years ago that robbed our proud nation of some of the wealthiest lands from Mexico had to offer. I have no sympathy for the Union as they made their bed and now will have to lay in it.
*Sincerity makes the very least person to be of more value than the most talented hypocrite.* Hypocrisy is a disease that seems to be festering among our Nations. The Union though on the side of Justice and God I feel in their war against the slave states, speaks out against the actions of the United Kingdom though they themselves have broached the everlasting wake of sin in their own petty greed against Nations such as Mexico. The Kingdom of Prussia despite their own aggressive expanse into Denmark; of which our United Kingdom has pledged our support, then decries such support in favor of their preferred ideals. They claim that it is a 'nest of vipers' that has struck them and North America. Yet it is only by this 'nest of vipers' that they are upheld in such a request from Denmark.And now I turn to my own beautiful Nation....We claim to support liberty and peace, yet we have sided with a nation that denies the very basic right of human liberty.
Hypocrisy is the poison that feeds this nest of vipers across the world whether they be of Europe or America. And it is a hypocrisy of the soul for man to align his moralities with corrupt government! As I stated in my 'Independence of Christianity' in 1857:
*Christ’s church hath been also miserably befooled; for this I will assert, and prove too, that the progress of the arms of a Christian nation is not the progress of Christianity…. The Christian soldier hath no gun and no sword, for he fighteth not with men. It is with “spiritual wickedness in high places” that he fights, and with other principalities and powers than with those that sit on thrones and hold sceptres in their hands.*
I call upon a REVIVAL to spark in the hearts of the peoples and leaders around the world. I call upon the immeasurable power of God Alone to bring peace without need for lust of power. For if we make war against the Union in greed, for that is what it is! For if we make war against the Union in greed, let us not hold back! If gain is our goal for liberty can surely not be, then let us move South and free the slave. At least then, something good might come of death.
Alas I only have this left to say to my brethren, *We have come to a turning point in the road. If we turn to the right mayhap our children and our children's children will go that way; but if we turn to the left, generations yet unborn will curse our names for having been unfaithful to God and to His Word.*
-Reverend Charles H. Spurgeon in morning service to his church.
Regno d'Italia
As the sun rises on the year of eighteen sixty-two, the people of Italia stand tall and proud as our glorious Kingdom enters its second year of a nearly unified existence. As we continue to work together to reconcile our past differences that were imposed upon us as we stood divided, the divide is slowly but surely fading away into nothingness. Not only has this united Italy aided in bringing us all together, but it has allowed the spread of institutions of health and wellness to those who would otherwise not have access to even the simplest form of care. Although this Kingdom may have been born through conflict, it is not the path that we as a people will seek as the way forward as such conflict will only bring further despair to the Italian people.
At the recent Conference in Constantinople various representatives from other European powers have ratified the peaceful transfer of Italian lands under the current administration of the Austrian Empire, a deal which had been previously struck in privacy between Italian and Austrian diplomats. While we both support and praise the efforts made at the Conference and culminated in the Treaty of Constantinople, there is a great deal of concern for not only various parts of this treaty, but with the blatant disregard of other European nations. The Kingdom of Italy was ignored in our efforts to gain entry to the Conference, despite the nature of the topics discussed. If the matters of the European continent are to be discusses, should the entirety of Europe not be invited to such talks? Not only has the recent Conference of Constantinople raised further concerns for stability in not only Europe, but the world as a whole.
In order to properly and efficiently deal with the further instability wrought in the wake of the Treaty of Constantinople, it is the desire of the Kingdom of Italy that we all seek a solution together to prevent both economic and international disaster. It is for this reasoning that the Kingdom of Italy must now call for a renewed Conference at Turin so that all nations of Europe may come together to discuss not only the instability at hand, but voice their own concerns so that we may find an amicable solution for all nations involved. As all are invited to join us in Turin, they need simply state their intention to attend and the proper arrangements shall be made.
The United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway
The United Kingdom of Sweden and Norway accepts the invitation to the Conference at Turin. We also wish that both Prussia and Denmark would come to Turin in order to settle the matter of Schleswig-Holstein. While I shall not disclose my opinion on the matter of who should own what, the UKSN believes that it was wrong to make this decision with the presence of Denmark. Therefore, we wish that Prussia would cancel or postpone their ultimatum to Denmark until the subject can be discussed in Turin. We desire to prevent any bloodshed in this matter, especially for our Scandinavian brethren to the south.
Sweden is also proud to announce another non-aggression pact.
I would formally like to express sympathy for the issues raised by the Italian Prime Minister Bettino Ricasoli in their last statement as regards to the recent Conference of Constantinople and would like to publicly announce my wish to attend the Turin Conference. I urge the rest of the European continent to do the same, if not because they wish not to be excluded then because they wish to uphold European relations to the best of their abilities.
Reino de España (Kingdom of Spain)
Plus Ultra
Each passing day it becomes clearer and clearer to the masses of Europe that the Treaty of Constantinople was nothing, but a clever ruse; it can be likened to wool pulled down upon the proverbial eyes of man by those wishing to establish a new European order defined by factionalization juxtaposed with protectionism. This truth is most apparent in this system of legalized piracy implemented in Article 7 of the treaty proper; an article that not only forsakes the freedom of trade, but all the facets of modern diplomacy. While, we could have expected a move like this from the Ottomans considering they have a long history of promoting piracy; seeing so-called Christian nations stoop so low is rather disheartening.
Spain wholeheartedly supports and plans on attending the Turin Conference proposed by our Italian counterparts; we applauded those European nations that have already committed themselves to the cause and can only hope the rest of the continent breaks free from the maddening grip of insanity and chooses to pursue meaningful long-lasting peace.
The United Kingdom finds it appalling that the lesser Nations of Europe are against a Treaty that if abided by will end War on the continent. This Treaty protects their nations from being taken over by the larger powers. Nations objecting to this Treaty are showing their true colors of corruption. For to speak out against this peace brought about by the Treaty of Constantinople is to state that you believe your Nation can only grow through the art of War. They speak of wanting long-lasting peace, yet are unwilling to abide by the peace that is now provide by the Treaty of Constantinople. In their selfishness for their own egos and power, they are not content with peace. This treaty is a boon for the Nations of Europe to focus upon their economies, education, healthcare, and general well-being of their own people. Following the Treaty of Constantinople will bring about an everlasting stability that will be a benefit to all Nations of Europe. The United Kingdom will not attend the Conference in Turin, but trusts that the Signatories of the Treaty of Constantinople who do attend will uphold said treaty to their ability.
To Greece, we thank you for joining in our War against the tyrants of the Union. Your assistance is of great support, but we ask you not attend.
We wish to offer one last chance to sue for Peace to the Union. Though we have declared War; if the Union recognizes the Confederacy and agrees to peace between the two Nations, the United Kingdom will not move against their Nation. However if the Union chooses War, the French Federation of Great Britain and all her allies will move in force against such a Nation. Should you move forward, Mr. Lincoln, you may rest assured that your name will be forgotten among the descendants of the former United States as they sing, "God save the Queen!" If you wish to make this a Second American Revolution, then let the stakes be the same.
To the Sovereign Confederacy, we support your desire to be free of tyranny and we hope that the Union sues for peace. However if they do not, the United Kingdom will stand beside in all that you do. Let this War be won swiftly and without great cost. God bless you, Mr. Jefferson Davis and all your Generals.
Treaty of Canadian Defense
The United Kingdom and the Russian Empire recognize the threat posed by the Union to their colonies in N. America and as such have extended a hand of friendship to each other. This is the Treaty of Canadian Defense:
-Russia and the United Kingdom will defend each other's colonies in N. America from the Union. This is a defensive pact and requires no offensive against aggressors.
-As an offer of peace, the UK gives the provinces of the Yukon and British Columbia to Russia.
The Russian Empire would like to proudly announce the signing of Sweden's proposed Non-Agression pact in hopes of such a treatise shall help spread good will and prosperity to our Scandinavian brethren in hopes of forgetting our past conflicts and disagreements. We would also like to proudly announce the Treaty of Canadian defense. between the Russian Empire and the UK. While I still support the Union in its cause such measures are required to ensure the safety of the Russian people and her colonial holdings.
As for Italy's proposed Turin Conference and the resistance to such a convention on behalf of my fellow world powers, I believe that such a convention is a newspaper follow-up to the Constantinople convention as the minor powers where not invited to said convention and should have a say and at least voice their opinions on the Constantinople Treaty which I would like to apologise to the minor nations exclusion from the drafting of the treaty.
The United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway
The United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway respectfully disagrees with the opinion of the other United Kingdom. While I cannot speak for the other nations of Europe, the UKSN feels like a second-class nation in Europe because our nation was refused a spot in the talks at Constantinople. Consider out position. How would your country feel if all the strongest nations of Europe joined together and used a threat of war as a deterrent of war itself. How ironic that the so-called peace "given" by the Treaty of Constantinople prevents war with the threat of war! This treaty is inadequate for preserving peace on the European continent because it relies on a threat of war, instead of mutual agreement with ALL nations. Just as man has the right to be free, so does each nation.
To the nations of Prussia and Russia, I can say surely say that all the nations of Europe who has begun to organize this conference wishes to thank you for your support. We hope that something productive can happen now that these two major powers have agreed to come.
Two days ago.. I was quite tired, I had just been reading dispatches from the front and felt weary. I went to bed and fell into a great slumber and I soon began to dream. There seemed to be a death-like stillness about me. Then I heard subdued sobs, as if a number of people were weeping. I left my bed and wandered downstairs. There the silence was broken by the same pitiful sobbing, but the mourners were invisible. I went from room to room in search. No living person was in sight, but the same mournful sounds of distress met me as I passed along. I saw light in all the rooms; every object was familiar to me; but where were all the people who were grieving as if their hearts would break? I was puzzled and alarmed. I entered the East Room and found in the middle of the room a casket, with mourners around it. Beside the casket itself were soldiers who were acting as guards; and there was a throng of people, gazing mournfully upon the corpse, whose face was covered, others weeping pitifully. "Who is dead in the White House?" I demanded of one of the soldiers, "The President," was his answer;
I woke up in a sweat, cold chills racked my body. It seemed that I had witnessed a glimpse of my own demise. Later that morning, we received calamitous news from abroad. Power upon power aligned against us. They have been bought, cajoled, and bullied to either declare war against us, or to sit in silence and watch as the noose tightens. No longer do concepts like democracy matter in this world. All that seems to matter is coin, cannons, and parcels of land. They would wage war against us and for what reason? That we wish to keep our country together? That we wish to throw from the shackles, those that have long been denied freedom? Have we witnessed a glimpse of this Republic's demise? Perhaps we have... perhaps we have.
No matter. This Republic was founded on the principle that all men are created equal. And we will carry on with that principle, no matter how many states try to succeed, no matter how many European nations try to intimidate us, no matter how much land or money they use to purchase other nation's souls, we will fight. We stand united, Union Forever. This nation, Under God, shall see the dawn of a new freedom, or will perish from this earth. Remember, those that sided against us, when you are wading in the blood of your own soldiers and are left with nothing but the bitter taste of ashes and gunpowder. Remember well that all of this could have been avoided. Union now and Union forever!
