We all have to start somewhere. Who was your first OC? What were they like? Have you since adapted them into a character you RP regularly now, or have you let them die out? I'll start.

My first OC was a fallen angel (usually spelled angle) named Darkraven Scarlet. She was tall, had long, black hair, and fucking huge black wings, even in roleplays that were more grounded in realism. She spoke like, all different languages, controlled the elements, spoke to animals, could control darkness, and exclusively wore black and red clothes. She had red eyes as well. She was quite angsty. She had a twin brother named Lightraven, as well.

Mine was Mysaren, she was a writer who, early on, was somewhat uncreative, even Mary Sue-ish in her initial character concepts.

Back when I wrote Runescape fanfiction on the official forums my first attempt at writing a complete story was something lampooning the trend of the "Noob Story". For the unaware, a Noob Story was a work of slash comedy pretty much where the author would go through the life of a fresh player-character in the world of Runescape, hitting up everything a new player is expected to do, lampooning high-level players, and otherwise being a misery. There were a few that were pretty good, but all-in-all the genre was considered trash.

So I decided to poke fun at it.

I forget the name of the character for my story, I swear he might have been named after an old video-game console with a name that sounded like it could be applied to a person as much as a marketing brand for an electronic entertainment device. But in any case, the MC in focus was the high-level player in a sense, being the adventurer who had made himself a name and was comfortable. And then there was the new guy to the adventuring world.

In the story, he pretty much refuses to assist the rookie who runs off an has a wizard curse him. At which point he begins to loose his abilities and effectively his experiences and memory as well as his gear and recognition of his existence is slowly eroded away by the work of this spell. So he goes from being a self-made, self-righteous asshole to being as lost as the rookie he lashed. Eventually he ends up back on Tutorial Island which was re-purposed as a sort of boot camp for would-be adventurers.

There were also jokes about the developer Jagex and how the entire perceivable world was actually determined by them as sort of god-beings. They knew their world to be a video game but the inhabitants didn't. But I failed to explore it beyond that because the story never moved past Tutorial Island when I got there.

My other hits in this early-time included Lazarus, a would-be despotic dictator. Another character that was my attempt at writing a quasi-Jim Morisson. Also a warrior-king of the RS world's desert loosely based on the romantic portrayals of Saladin by the name of Abu-Bakr. Last I checked the former character's story was still alive, despite being maybe five or more years old by now.

Our first OC was terrible, rather overpowered and probably a Gary Stu. Certainly lacking in quality. He wasn't overpowered on his own in that he could've destroyed armies or such, but rather in having creator's plot armor and a few nasty things like that. the GMs in that RP weren't forceful enough, so they didn't stop him, or another really overpowered character, from wreaking havoc upon the RP.

My first OC that i implemented in a roleplay was a mutant living in in a sci-fi city's slums, earning money as a deathmatch fighter. Snide, punkish and rather cunning. He wasn't overpowered, surprisingly, having no more than an accelerated metabolism, and a well balanced mind control ability - not too much compared to the gun toting nazi cyborgs and a despotic government's superpowered soldiers that together were the main antagonists. He was a sneaky bastard though, never meant to get caught by any of them. XD

Male Knight, because the GM wouldn't let me into the game as a female character.

Rilla. He started as a element manipulating ventriloquist, with a living doll. Though, he was actually an amnesiac Dragon Angel, who eventually became Dragon God, and then further became God of Creation with Ouroboros as a spirit animal. Through him all my OCs are connected in some way.

My first official OC was a Naruto OC who was incredibly overpowered. She was Sasuke's cousin and a jinchuriki with a second tailed wolf demon named Yuki and she could do some crazy stuff with wind and tornadoes and the sharigan.

I've since upgraded her immensely. She's still an Uchiha but her abilities have little or nothing to do with that side of her family. She takes after her Mom and grows to use the jutsus and abilities from her mother's side of the family. (which are no where near as powerful. Powerful..but not ridiculously powerful)

My first OC was a demon contracted to his master and loosely inspired by Alucard from Hellsing.
The RP I used him for is long dead and even my best necromancy skills cannot crawl the web for the site I played him on.
So whatever I say I mention to you out of distant memories. It's been close to a decade now. For example I sure don't remember the character's name or any such precise details.

Well, on the character's background. Once upon the time a group secretly conducted a ritual to summon a powerful demon and supposedly attain immortality(?). They messed up and the demon went out of control, murdering near-everyone. Unfortunately the botched summoning also left him drained and out of desperation he made contract with the last survivor. This has been hundreds of years ago and since then the demon serves this family as their powerful servant. Mr. Demon obeys but of course he doesn't like his predicament and secretly plots for his freedom.

The basic setting was that after thousands of years the demons break the seal and begin invading the mortal realms again. To defeat them they gather seven or so heroes with legendary weapons. My demon was technically on their side, following his orders by his current master. He used to be a lieutenant of the fire demons and one of the most bloodthirsty and ferocious fighters known. Since having him roam around like that is hardly a smart idea he has 12 seals put on him.
Took quite a while to find it after several years but for his fully sealed form I used this pic:

When fully sealed his personality is calm and sinister. He's still obviously bloodthirsty and uses something akin to a chain which he can control with his will. He also has a good degree of regen unless anti-demon/holy items are in use. As the seals come off he becomes stronger and more aggressive and can manipulate fire to increasing degree. After most seals came off he regains a considerable portion of his power along with his signature element the crimson flames (not sure on this part, maybe they didn't have any coloration). Its ability to grown in power the more area these fires burn make it a perfect weapon of massacre which may even surpass demon lords in this aspect. In short imagine a crazy demon made of nothing but living fire nuking everything. That's the true face of my character and that's the most likely situation if he's allowed to let loose.
Plus like I said he was plotting to free himself, with his comrades returning to the mortal realm he got a pretty good chance for that.
Until then mr. demon had no qualms about murdering anything else he was ordered to, be it even his fellow demons.

So yeah, that was him. Unfortunatelly the RP died down rather quick so I never had a chance to truly use him.

Well my username. Vance Xentan was a name I came up out of the blue before that I had a shit ton of NPC characters but I never really played them per say as had them as support characters. My namesake was a Jedi Master who served as the head of the jedi order during a group roleplay where he ended up as leader of the old republic. He had to make it a dictatorship however in order to keep control. Unlike the canon sacking of couruscant he actually beat back the Sith and another player reversed it by taking Korriban from the sith. Technically Xentan is a copy of a previous sith lord named Sesontor but I don't really count him.

When I was a youngun', back when the LOTR movies were still big and Return of the King was still in theaters, I joined an RP on an LOTR fansite. I went for a new RP that looked active enough to keeping going. Since most of everyone was an elf, I joined as an Orc warlord.

After a few posts I realized that the Elf Rpers were more interested in prancing around the forest and we weren't going to really be fighting or making a story, I lost interest.

Mine was named Rykaan: a powerful, fire-wielding homunculus created by an evil wizard for the sole purpose of destroying the world. Rykaan started out mindlessly and mercilessly slaughtering everything in sight (as he was created to do), until some other character showed him kindness for the first time in his life (which naturally caused the strange sensation of regret) and set him off in a spiral of angst and redemption. He'd end up turning against his creator in an epic war for the fate of the world.

Every single RP of mine for the first couple years had this exact same plotline. I'm still not tired of it -- it's so tacky and tropey it's awesome.

Haha... My first Muse was a Dwarf with the (last) name 'Foamybeard'. I made him up when I was about 8 or so - I had just finished reading The Hobbit. Fourteen years and many, MANY different incarnations and versions of him later, and I still have that damn Dwarf, as well as several members of the Clan Foamybeard.

He started out as a typical dwarf - Drank a lot, liked hammers and guns, liked to brew booze, and had a funny accent. No one liked him.

Now? He drinks a lot, likes hammers and guns, and likes to brew his own booze, and has a funny accent. People I RP with on WoW and other places like him.
