I just don't see the point of lien myself. Like you've got credits for actual upgrades, so Lien aren't necessary there. The stuff they are going to be spent on, clothing and the like, are ultimately inconsequential and the price is up to the players discretion so the money spent is also pointless. Like in theory they have a limit, but in practice, since they're deciding the price, no real limit exists. If you have Lien you probably have enough for whatever item you desire. You can argue responsible RPers will avert this, but said RPers will be just as responsible without a tangible amount of money.

Focusing more on credits for upgrades makes more sense if you ask me. Let players RP as rich or poor as they like. You want fancy clothes and a new laptop and you think your character has enough money then go for it. Why create arbitrary limits that don't make sense from an gameplay or story side.

That said if some itemshop with set prices for goods was made that would make a little more sense. Of course then you might start straying too far into tabletop territory.

I don't think the support of a guy who doesn't even have a character yet weighs a lot xD

Nonsense. All constructive input and criticism is invited.

On a side note, I just finished Akame ga Kill! Not impressed. Actually, very disappointed.

On another side note, is anyone interested in interacting with Shiro? ;_; I have no idea where to take him and what to have him do. I was maybe thinking of putting him in Vale to have him run into team VGNB and have him apologize profusely for his terrible first impression.

And that's why you make it simple. Tabletop is incredibly complex, and has so many subtle nuances and stats to consider, and situations, and so on. This item shop is meant to give you a new avenue to approach new situations.

For instance you want some cover? Do you have a smoke grenade? You can use that. No smoke grenade? You're going to have to find another way.

That said, items will probably be limited when on missions, like you can only take 3 or something.

I am aware you were joking @Prince of Seraphs, but the reality is, you can in actuality have items like that added to the shop.

I was being sarcastic and insinuating that you are treating this far too much like a video game compared to the more realistic (at least for an anime) approach that we're going for. I feel like I'm looking at Doctor Light's shop in between Megaman missions. Minus the name that's an item from a video game I'm working on in RPG Maker XP.

"compared to the more realistic (at least for an anime) approach that we're going for."

You can keep this bit. I explained it in a previous post. Here it is again.

No the reality is if I wanted to be playing a game of Pathfinder with every gold piece accounted for an every eventually expected I would (and do most Wednesday night but that's not really important).

The fact is that we have players who come to Beacon dirt poor and the money from missions is mainly for them. If you're playing a richer character then the mission money doesn't matter all that much which is how it would be in real life. It's a way for those whose character background actually necessitate them to keep an eye on there earners and plan accordingly. When we spend Credits on a semblance upgrade (fully aware this hasn't happened yet) Lug doesn't want us to just suddenly have a new ability, he wants us to save it for a special occasion in which the player is forced to look for other options and there semblance compensates. It's the same with armoury upgrades. If we were in the middle of a mission and you bought an armoury upgrade you wouldn't get it like poof. You'd have to wait till you had the time, energy and yes the Lien to have it made.

In Universities and Colleges they have a communal shower for the floor but I think in RWBY they showed that each dorm has its own.

Yeah, otherwise Ren walked out of his dorm room wearing nothing but a pink towel. Which is something that Robert did do, but he's Robert.

@Prince of Seraphs

But nobody buys weapon or armour upgrades during a mission, no one would be allowed to either, because that's just silly. Ability upgrade during a mission is reasonable under those circumstances.

But you seem to miss the point.

The point is not whether or not YOU like this system, it's not whether or not you want 'every gold piece account for'.

The point is that we have a pointless currency system, and I am proposing an actual PROPER use for it.

I'll put it in caps.

WE HAVE A POINTLESS CURRENCY SYSTEM, AND I AM PROPOSING A POINT FOR IT.

One more time.

WE HAVE A POINTLESS CURRENCY SYSTEM, AND I AM PROPOSING A POINT FOR IT.

I don't see why this is bad, I don't see why you're against it, and even if you're telling me why, you haven't been doing a very good job at all. You haven't presented anything to persuade me against this.

What's so bad about being able to buy a little extra equipment? What's so bad about being able to actually USE a currency that we are actively given in missions? The amounts we are given in missions are in actual NUMBERS too, we're not told "low money reward, high money reward", we're given ACTUAL NUMBERS that we can MATH THE FUCK OUT OF.

I mean come on man, what's the problem? So far all I see is that the problem is only your own opinion.

I don't have a problem, but I do want to see something worked out too instead of complaints about not having one. As far as I care, I'll use the money however appropriate. A system would certainly make that helpful and give more meaningful definition behind Lien, but I also don't like the way you've been going about it which seems to mostly insult us about our incompetence. Which is more or less what Seraph does all the time anyways, no need to have you do it too.

@Sho Minazuki, you might wanna PM Lugubrious about your idea. Detail it real good and give examples of how it might work in that PM, and see if he gives you the green light. I know I'd use that shop. I'm a fan of having my characters buy things other than huge plot-advancing stuff. Sometimes what we need is to spend some hard earned money on a magazine or a new action figure xD

I am actively willing to actually work on the solution.

I just need support. If I have some support, I'll ask Lugio about it and work something out.

I mentioned this once before, but admittedly that was drowned out.

I was serious about working on it, but again, I need some support.

You guys may not have thought about the lien at all, but you're all pretty cool. That's kind of all I got on you, and sorry if I ever seem to offend you, really.

EDIT: Reason I need support is so that there will be people who will use it. If no one uses it, then we may as well just get rid of lien as a mission reward.
