There's a point at which there are official executions, and then there's a point at which you're just killing someone supposedly as punishment. Heck, I'll bet someone somewhere uses taste-testing bleach for quality assurance as a valid execution method.

The execution in Oswald's background was an official, sanctioned execution. The methods would not be acceptable in any of the Four Kingdoms, methinks...

One of my favorite execution methods I heard of once when I was studying the Salem witch trials for a class project @Prince of Seraphs, was where they cut open a horse and stuffed the woman in. They then sewed the horse back up with the woman's head being the only part of her not being inside. She was then left to starve outside of the town.

Personally I've always been a fan of Witch Burnings but I'm not sure if I can feasibly write that into a country that is supposed to be civilized.

Sapphire there is no such thing as a civilized country, just one with a different culture. And in some cultures, Witch Burnings are the most civilized ways to deal with witches. As is stoning, beheadings, burials, and generally fucking with them (Often literally). All you need is culture!

I finally got my contest entree in, and 25 words under the limit if you don't count the quote at the top or the poem at the bottom. They just add atmosphere.
