I believe that these are the steps that must be taken in assuring MR's greatness and previous condition. Being a part of this isn't without effort, but when it performs well, they payoff is astronomical; if these are followed, many of the current problems should be resolved. The following are in order of priority.
1. If you're online, don't wait for anyone or anything. There should be no more waiting at all; if someone else is there, continue your arc with them, or if you're locked by somebody else (covered by number 4), start something someplace new. Always provide an opportunity for interaction whenever possible, and don't hold arcs until people get there.
2. If you're stuck, find another way to interact. The how doesn't really matter, but we all have enough characters and accounts to make something work. Don't let yourself get eaten by the activity of others.
3. Don't stop interacting with someone for any reason. If there's nothing else to say, do something, talk about life, really anything other than dropping conversation. If you feel you may have been dropped, or are awaiting a response (especially if the person is online), check the IC to see if you missed it. If not, ask them or "poke" their character again in the IC.
4. Don't start an arc, battle, or anything else that will consume other characters if you know for sure you're going to be gone for long periods of time. Locking other people into one story isn't fun, especially if you can't drive it. Don't let this discourage you from starting anything, but if you know you have a six hour dress rehearsal (for the sake of example) that prevents you from being IC, don't start a plot or battle.
5. If you're online/available (even if you're busy), just check in every so often. Once every ten minutes is preferable to "I have to focus on this 100% and can't do a single other thing." We all do/used to interact while doing other things, and even light multitasking is possible, and even easy. Just don't leave everyone in the dark if you can be there.
6. Similar to #5, if you can only be there for short bursts, make the IC the priority. The OOC can be caught up and discussed without much issue; the continuity of the IC cannot.
7. Avoid short responses that are hard to make conversation with. If the other person isn't leading somewhere, responding with "Yep," "Mhm" "Yeah," or other filler words isn't conducive to a thriving environment.
8. Respond quickly if you can. We're at less than a fraction of our former speed, and I find it hard to believe that something's preventing that when somebody's here.
I had the craziest dream...
It went off with me and my mother going to this tiny restaurant place. It looked really shady, but we were hungry. As we ate there i saw multiple arcade games. And a thing called "BLJ" points when you win. The levels were really easy at first. I stopped cause I ran out of coins. Then I remember seeing a tiny girl peek out of a door down a long hallway. The owner then asked if I wanted to apply here and I said no since I am moving somewhere. The owner got mad and as be was getting mad I saw a boy play the arcade, but I saw he was at a higher level. He lost, the screen said "you are mine" and he began to disappear. I was scared then Later on I was some reason older, I met some odd people who were my friends. And I asked about the place and they told me to never play the games. Cause if you lose, you become a mind controlled sex slave. Then I remember that girl who looked like this purple haired blue eyed anime char (Mizore Shirayuki) who was the girl peeking out of the door.I said we needed to save them a girl, who was my friend, told me it was impossible. Then a guy came by and said it is possible. We just needed to hack an arcade game and beat the whole game. Then they could be saved. So that's what we did. Or...tried to do. That girl who spoke out played first and lost near the end. We tried to stop the process be she disappeared. We were devastated. Though we ran outside and saw that the FBI, or a team, was helping the bad guys. And one was carrying our friend to the place. One saw me and they began firing. (This dream felt long really long btw. And I hated it. It is still in my mind). We fought back and eventually got their weapons. We busted inside and say our friend who had nor arms pleasing some guy. We killed the guy and took her. The things she kept asking us, I won't say. Then we ran into the owner who looked very demonic. And many little children,boys and girls, crawled behind him, naked. It was horrible. All of a sudden everywhere around me began to light up. The numbers "777" came across many walls and the demonic being was yelling at me and we fought. I won, remembering that I had a reason coming to that place to save those people. I was really injured but all of the children gained conciousness and looked around. Feeling very ill. I was able to heal the friend's arms. And restore those kids. Bringing them back to thier families. All except that purple haired child. Who was an angel as well...and my sister. Which I woke up shortly after. Melody. That name was echoing in my head.
<Snipped quote by Zeal>
then you have people like me whose most memorable dreams include a t-rex stealing your couch and a zombie in your basement eating luigi
<Snipped quote by Host>
I get the feeling this is quite geared towards me.
I'm sorry for locking any characters, but it was never my intention to get caught up with everything I am. Circumstances out of my control led to this. No need to worry, though, it'll speed up soon.

Literally have barely any characters atm and I don't want to dictate my plots. Nobody takes any initiative with them. Back on ifunny we'd write each others' plots practically, and I had to drag you kicking and screaming into describing anything for dark's place and you still barely did anything for it. Now I've been waiting for someone to do something in Dark's game for however long so I can respond to it, and most people avoid the codex meeting. This whole thing was pretty much pointed at me like a cannon and I'm gonna ignore it like a cannon.
It's really not.

Firstly, I feel like anyone taking this personally is pretty blind to the bigger picture. I'm guilty of some stuff too.
That said, I do try my hardest to post fast. Last night, I was posting as quickly as possible. I was doing literally nothing else except posting on MR. Trouble is, my bandwidth is so low that posting/loading pages on the Guild isnmt even fast. Sometimes it takes upwards of twenty seconds just to load a page, and minutes to log in to an account.
As well, I'm not sure if things are much different in terms of time consumption for you now, but they certainly are different for me. I have too many responsibilities to be here all the time, sadly, and I can't multitask when doing most of them because I have a father who is a stickler for that kind of stuff.
Those two things aside, I do agree.
lookie I'm starting something

I see that.

Everyone will feel that it's aimed at them in some aspect, but this is a list of general things that need to be changed. If it's a problem, well, somebody has to be doing it, but none of them are pointed. As for the game, I already responded with Misty and had nothing else to say in it, and the Codex meeting is wrapping up. But again, not you (nor anyone else) were personally in mind when I wrote these.
<Snipped quote by Galaxy Raider>
I'm not taking it personally, I'm saying it's too applicable to me to be coincidental.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>
You literally never crossed my mind when I wrote it. If you think it applies to you, well, maybe that means something on your part.
<Snipped quote by Legend>
I know. I didn't mean I thought it was intentional. I meant it's probably subconsciously caused in large part by how I am around here. Sorry for lack of clarity.
And again with the game, I'm waiting for you guys to take initiate on what actually happens. I don't want to railroad you guys or dictate "oh do this and this then this happens," I want you three to decide how it goes with me responding.
Speaking of, what happened to tox? I thought he was gonna be here for a while and he ended up here for like 3 days.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>
I don't believe so; these are common issues and if they happen to apply, they just happen to apply. You don't post often anyway.
Military. We text every so often.
