@GreenGrenade I guess it boils down to how film-breaking you think those things are. Some people can still sit and enjoy it for what it is whereas other people sit there the entire time shaking their head about it. I was probably in the latter of the two camps. I know @HenryJonesJr is in the same camp too.

So far it's 3-2 in BvS's favour amongst Frontiersmen. (Frontierspeople?)

Oh, and welcome back. I was worried you might not be with us anymore but that Thanos post swooped in and swept my concerns aside. @Hexaflexagon

I actually hear (spoiler free) that Afflecks portrayal of Batman is one of the best, if not the best. Would you like to comment on these rumours sir?@Sep

Honestly I'd say Batfleck is one of the best Batman we've seen on the big screen. Still lacking in the department of World's Greatest Detective but otherwise it looked and felt like Batman. 

Have to say though I don't really agree with some of the above spoilers or how much people are arguing that Batman does break the rules.  Keaton and Bale both do the same over the course of their movies and nobody batted an eye.

Those of us who are a little older remember the panic and sheer vitriol that hit the media when Michael Keaton was cast as Batman.

They could cast Bruce Wayne, and people would still find something to complain about.

If we were dealing with a young Batman who hadn't been under the cowl for twenty years and lost Robin and somehow the Manor I'd be inclined to agree with you.  But the fact that we're dealing with Frank Miller's "He'll walk again but he'll remember" Dark Knight it doesn't phase me. He's cruel, he's brutal and he's angry. Note that even after Wonder Woman crosses him he doesn't do the same. Plus I'd argue Superman is just as guilty since he made it a personal vendetta to take down the Bat. What we watched was two very stubborn men who are the most powerful beings in their lives decide to butt heads. Superman literally comes to Gotham to tell Bruce to pack it in because Bruce's brand (heh) of Justice doesn't align with his own. But Superman is hardly better since he dances around international issues and meddles in foreign affairs like they're open debates. He doesn't use tact at all. 

So while I agree Batman is more brutal and almost sadistic, I think I understand Snyder's vision and reasoning behind it. Furthermore his Superman was pretty dark from the get go so you have to make Batman really dark in order to properly contrast the two.

Miller's Batman, BVS most obvious inspiration, was very cruel and very sadistic. Keaton's batman blew up thugs with a smile on his face, and Baleman quite smugly (I thought) let Ra's die in a train crash. I wont argue that Bat-fleck is definitely the most brutal, but cinematic Batmen being more than a little unhinged is hardly a new thing. Also it's worth taking into account that both Keaton and Bale's Bruce Waynes were new to being Batman in their portrayals, whereas Bat-fleck is older, jaded, and burnt out. Fighting the war in Gotham has taken a very obvious toll on his already troubled psyche, a toll that's led to his less than savoury methods.

Actually ignore this, I've inadvertently re-hashed everything Wraith said a couple posts ago.

Just because Superman was equally poorly characterised doesn't excuse the fact that Batman was too. If anything, it speaks to how badly Snyder and the writers misinterpreted what people like about Superman and Batman. I wasn't a huge fan of Man of Steel but it struck me as a "serious" (or "realistic) interpretation of Superman, not a particularly grim of dystopian one, whereas I feel like Snyder has flitted away from serious towards grim to excuse making a "Dark Knight Returns"-esque film. The problem being for me that it's not enough to simply say: "Hey! Batman are Superman are dicks now because... bad things happen!" You have to actually convince me that these bad things happening would make Bruce depart from the man he was. Does a poorly-written two minute conversation with Alfred and a shot of a Robin costume convince me Batman would suddenly start killing? No. If Jason and Barbara didn't send Bruce off the edge in the comics, you're going to have a Herculean task to convince me that anything would.

I was playing that a bit ago and I honestly believe Lego Marvel Superheroes is the superior game. But I mean it's fun nonetheless so long as you enjoy Lego games. The audio bothers me though since they just used voice clips from the movies for the most part.
