You are a college student. You are broke. You have bills to pay. He is offering you a good sum to participate in an experiment. You read the briefing, something about seeing the effects of vitamins with added chemicals and how they affect a person based on gender. Several male and female college students will be called to partake, and you think nothing of it. It's money, right?

Wrong. The Scientist is Professor Finn Rohrbach, a scientist from Germany, and he has discovered a rare element that, when combined with certain chemicals, can give beings incredible powers. The rats Rohrbach tested with all developed incredible powers and he now wants to push forward and test on human subjects.

When the subjects consume their picked pills, they gain powers within the next few days and are required to stay in Rohrbach's lab. After their powers begin to surface, Rohrbach is forced to reveal his true intentions. He had hand picked them, wanting to build a team of superheroes to fight crime. Having lost his wife to a murderer, Rohrbach has a few reasons to want to see justice served but has always been too scared to do so himself. Promising the students that he would help change them back if he helped them, he got them to form a group and told them they could find their own missions to complete and Rohrbach would also send them missions to go on. He also told them to come back periodically to get a check up with him.

There are several pills, one for each participant. For this RP to work, we need to get a few RPers and then start, once we start, it will be very hard for others to join in later. I may let one or two slip in after start up in IC, but that would be it.

My max number will be 10. This means that I will absolutely stop after 10 players but I may stop well before 10 if I feel that we won't get many more. My minimum is three, four including myself.

The way the pills will work is, you will make a list of 2-3 powers that you wouldn't mind playing. When you make a CS, you will have a section to say which pill your character took. I will randomly assign colors to these powers and make a list of colors for you all to choose from. And so, when you post your CS, I will tell you which power you got. You may only change your power ONCE and when you ask for a change, I will choose from the list myself. After that, you're stuck with what you got.

I am adding this to make it perfectly clear to incoming players that the power you will receive will be completely random. I won't make exceptions as you enter the RP understanding this.

Thank you guys for all the interest. Since there are more than 10 of us all wishing to join in the adventure, what I will probably do is accept CSs based on their quality. (Which means I should probably make mine better too... urg.) My reasoning for this is that I don't want to select on a first come first serve basis such that those that spent a good while on a good CS get left out in the cold. So, the first CSs that come in that are quality (as deemed by both myself, Nevix, and DP (DP is generally my cohort in all things RP related. :P)).

I'll go into more detail about what I might consider a quality CS later as I have many things to do as the semester closes up. Including going to meet the teacher I'll be student teaching with next year (Yay! :D)

I also wanted to take just a minute here to discuss group related things...

The four that are locked in currently (one of which who is still contemplating his/her entry into the RP) are all good friends from my other RP. And as such, we will probably take over most conversations unless you push yourself into them (which we won't yell at you for, trust us). I like an RP community that is friendly, cooperative, and best of all... collaborative. That means everyone thinks about the best interest of the RP story as a whole rather than their own character's background story arc. All of the characters will be important to the plot and we need to consider that when making posts.

I don't want to go on my whole tangent about making posts that can be reacted to rather than reactive post, but if you need some guidance on that sort of stuff, we can certainly work it out. I generally have problem toning down the plans I have for my own characters as well as getting lazy with my characters and sending them off on their own to do things, so I'll try to be more active in watching what I do when I post.

So, this week I have 1 paper, 2 projects, and 2 final exams. I will be finished by Thursday. I may have more free time after Monday as well to do some things and set up somethings but for right now my brain is focused on my Paper due on Friday and my final at 8 am on Friday, so ye. I'll be a bit stressed for the next few days and probably won't work on our OP until the weekend or after so I apologize for that. So just be patient with me and such.

Until then... feel free to pal around on here or in the etherpad I've set up for everyone. I'll also have the working OP on there for everyone to begin working on their CSs if they'd like. (I'll give everyone plenty of time to get those 'quality' CSs out.)

Personally, I think it'd still be better to throw an OOC up even if we know that you're going to be unavailable! It just makes it easier for everyone to store their work and gives the cast something tangible to work with while they're doing that. Even if you just mostly copy the stuff from the etherpad into an OOC, that way we're not all flicking through multiple web sites and all that jazz!

Then I shall do just that. Just please don't bug me to look at CSs right now. I promise I'm a good GM and I do look at CSs in a timely manner but finals are stressful. So odds are I will only be around to answer small questions if at all.

I try to stop myself from answering RP questions at times like this because if I don't do that, I'll spend all my time answering questions and not doing my work, which is what I'm doing right now. But if you'd rather have a different thread other than this one to throw stuff up feel free.

Just know that if you throw up a CS and it gets lost in the pages, you'll have to flip through to find it again because I don't really want to have to deal with that (and I have to approve CSs before they get thrown up in the C-Tab).

So ye, I'll do that real quick. (It won't look purdy, I'm sorry.)
