Thought the leader role was already taken. Who is the leader of the mercenaries?

JUST TO CLARIFY!

@Bishop With all due respect, I'm not sure that your character could lead a mercenary company; This isn't meant as a slight against you, but Ssskarsciv wouldn't be my first choice to lead a group, let alone my first point of contact to hire a group for me to fight for me. From what I can tell from his history he seems best working alone, seems to have a rather one-track mind I.E. He's hunting for his princess, and, again from what I can tell, it doesn't seem like he'd be any good at large-scale battle tactics.

Now, if everyone else - @Indy Cooper@POOHEAD189@IrishAngelQueen@Tsar Gatto etc - is fine with being led by you then I am too, it's just my opinion.

Also, feel free to put his profile into the Char tab.

Ahk wouldn't know the first thing about what makes a good leader, much less want to take command herself. I'm cool with whatever.

Hmmm, must've gotten my character concepts confused. Imagined him as some kind of pirate/mercenary leader during the end. Like he controls bands of hired claws to work for him etc.

Anyway, he has a one track mind of finding the princess but as I mentioned before he needs resources to do that. And to get those he needs to have a one track mind on completing the mission at hand first, to gain those resources.

He was also the leader of the spec ops in the bio so following the bio he is excellent at micromanaging units.
Either way when I looked for open spots I put the "scout" as the most preferable, the second in command as the next best option and the "leader" as the last choice if those 2 were taken. Just assumed from our previous conversation the mantle was already on.

This group won't be working for him though, they will be hired by an outside employer (the Valnaur for example) using the leader as an intermediary - a recruiter, if you will; once he's gathered the group, he'll need to follow his employer's instructions...or don't, in which case there would likely be consequences. More like a medieval Condottieri than anything else.

As for the mantle, as I said, if everyone's alright with it then I'm alright with it too.

@Ozymandias You still interested in this, or should I just assume a no-no?

Technically speaking, Ahk is large enough to be a heavy weapons platform, or carry a few people on her back. So she is less like a leader, and more like a ground vehicle.

No drilling mounts for hardpoints, though. That shit gets painful.

@Indy CooperNot big enough for a Tylon unless she wants to be the alien equivalent of a donkey. They average between 7 to 9 feet tall, with some rare exceptions.

@Indy CooperI think she'd be great as a weapons platform. Strap a Kinetic Battery to her back and you have walking artillery.

Almost made her less armoured and more spider-y, which would lessen the artillery part, but an HMG platform that can crawl on walls and ceilings would be pretty nifty.

@Indy CooperGet a 20mm Auto Cannon, or a Tylon Assault Rifle. Either one will do.

@Jbcool

Hestal Koss

Hestal Koss is a 2 generation descendant of Commander Adrakft Koss, a famous TCF Military Commander who served in the First Contact War against the Draconians. Due to his Grandfather’s reputation, much has always been expected of his family line. Hestal is part of a brood of 7, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Born on the Tylon colony of Ganadreid, in the far reaches of TCF space, he grew up with a very stressful childhood.

His father, a Mech Commander, and his Mother, a member of the Black Guard, a highly prestigious and effective special forces unit. With his parents wielding similar accolades, it placed a lot of pressure on Hestal and his siblings to succeed in a military career. So just like many Tylon children, he chose Combat as his military study, the most difficult subject to succeed in, as 67% of Combat recruits die during training before obtaining their first rank. (Training for them is what we would call a live situation, they get sent to fight criminal gangs, terror groups, and even some genuine live battlefields for what they call “Live Training”)

Having been thrust into his first combat situation at 35 years old, nothing but a teen by Tylon standards, him and his squad were greeted by the guns of an old Tylonian terrorist organization, hell bent on destroying the TCF for allying themselves with the Draconians. A hard fought battle resulted in him being the last one standing within a decimated apartment building. From that point on, with his brain now marked with with the first memories of violence, he continued his training with a new resolve.

Upon reaching reaching 50 years of age, now a fully fledged adult, he gained his first rank, and became a member of the 25th Spacers Division (Basically space marines), where he served most of his career on the TCFN Retribution. A ten kilometer Superdreadnought.

After his 100 years of duty, he was given two options, continue his career, or be a free Tylon. He chose the latter.

When the intergalactic colonization project was announced across all TCF systems, Koss was the one of the first few thousand to sign up, a new galaxy awaited, with new enemies to shoot at.

The first Tylon Ark Ships landed some 10 years ago, unbenounced to many alien species within the galaxy in the far, unreachable systems on the very edge of the Milky Way.

Instead of settling down, Koss obtained a small FTL capable ship, and traveled across the galaxy, selling his skills for weapons, parts, equipment, and the chance to experience new battles.

I'd rather someone else be leader lol. Not because of Bishop, but just the character. Seems more like a specialized muscle.

@Synthorian Eeeexcellent...from what I can tell, he's not got any of the more advanced psi-abilities, correct? In the same vein, I'd rather not have 'magic' people. Genetic shape-altering/skin changing is one thing, then there's telekinesis and the like.
