Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: JFK Memorial Hospital, Washington D.C. Station
Skills: Internet Skills, Radio Wave Interpretation

When Sapphire brushed off her barrage of questions with general instructions, Waverley slumped back into her seat, her eyebrows furrowed in a nervous demeanor. It's not as though she was against improvisation. Hell, she'd gone to a few of her high school improv club's meetings when her old best friend was going through her 'I want to be a Hollywood actress' phase. But due to her rather anxious personality, she much preferred being told the specific actions she was supposed to take, especially in an important operation such as the one they were on. Her tense shoulders relaxed somewhat when Colossus seconded her pager plan. They neared the hospital, and as they did, Waverley pulled her phone out of her pocket, using it to search for some sort of blueprint for the hospital or something online.

"Got the map," She commented, speaking to no one person in particular. Her eyes scanned the map of the facility as Sapphire parked the car, everyone exiting the vehicle. Waverley followed suit, staring down at her phone as she climbed out of the door Colossus held open for her and Cayden. Waverley mumbled out a half-hearted, "Thank you," sounding as though her mind was too focused on something else to give a more meaningful show of gratitude, and the look of confusion and concern on her face confirmed it. Instinctively she followed behind Colossus and Cayden, watching their feet out of the top of her eyes. After a few moments, she looked up. "I thought the map was going to be more labeled than this. I can't figure out where the medication room would be. Let's see if the cameras are wireless. I might be able to figure out which room they need to find that way." she volunteered, before staring ahead, her feet still moving as she zoned out. After a few moments, her expressive face seemed to come back. Her eyes were wide as she stepped into the gift shop behind Cayden. Her eyes darted from him to Colossus, letting out a somewhat shaky sigh. "I-I can't tell if the cameras are wireless or not. This might take logner than I thought it would."

Max began to tune out what Jack and his father were talking about. It started becoming way too Days of Our Lives for him to care, and it clearly didn't pertain to the mission on hand. He began to tap this finger on the counter, trying to find a way that would enable them to get down to the basement without any suspicion. That thought, however, was broken up when the smell of buffalo wings wafted through the air and his stomach began to grumble. Max took a stick of celery, dipping it in the buffalo sauce that gathered at the bottom of the wax paper and then dipping it into his blue cheese before taking a bite. This was without a doubt the best food he had eaten in a very long while. Protien bars may contain all that he needed to keep himself going, and sure the Mutant Undergeound tried but this, actual hot cooked food straight from a kitchen, it was like heaven. Max turned to watch Leighton as she began to flirt with the bartender. At first it made him want to roll his eyes, now wasnt the time nor place, but then he caught on to what she was doing. And it was excellent.

No sooner did she bat her eyelashes, than they were already on their way down there. She had asked him to grab the wings, but honestly she didnt need to because he wasnt letting this go. He brought along a moist towelette packet that tends to come with them, not wanting to have dirty fingers leave any prints behind. The new area was significantly better than the bar upstairs, Leigton joked about VIPs where Max immediately thought of a speakeasy. Or at the very least a lounge for Shaw and his cronies to plot and steal mutants. He'd seen first hand the luxury this Hellfire Club was accustomed to and didnt doubt this was some vain attempt at keeping it in a shadier location. As Max scanned the room he heard a thwack and watched as Leighton knocked the bartender out, asking him to do something with the body. Easiest way would be cremation, that is until she told him he was alive still. There wasn't much to do about him, and Max feared that jostling the body too much may wake him so he opted to help search the room. "I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary, well besides." He gestured to the whole room

Jinx mouthed off silently as the girls spoke, mocking them in pure irritation. "Yeah, minds tend to be easier to read when you have someone who can help with that. Why do you think he was such an easy target? So easily stabbed and hit without so much as a flicker of his power? You're welcome." His eyes danced about the room as he looked at all the toys, wondering which would be best for the mission as well as which would they be allowed to take. The group made their way to a Jeep and Jinx could do little more than whistle in appreciation. The Three in One were quick to tell him not to touch anything, and he was more than certain that if he did there'd be a new hole in the club. "Yeah yeah I know. Hm. Good to know I shouldn't worry about Emma's little speech then. For a second there it felt like she'd done something but maybe it was just her reading my mind, who knows. Anyways, why the hell is Shaw...was Shaw, a Nazi? And How could Magneto stand to work with him? I assume no one knew because I've known Mags for a while now and I doubt he'd be willing to just let a Nazi roam around like that."

Jinx got into the carz filling up the last available seat before clicking on his seatbelt. He ran his hand through the interior of the vehicle, feeling the pure luxury of it all and taking pleasure in it. As he lay his head back, his small curls bunching against the headrest, he realized something. He wasnt sure what this mission was. "He Anastasia, what exactly is this mission again? What're we doing? I should know our goal and how we want to do it otherwise I'm not sure how much help I'll be. Sounds like we wanna be a bit stealthy but..." his voice trailed off, not because he was thinking, but quite the opposite he had lost his train of thought. Choosing to allow his words to leave him as he sat there waiting for an answer from someone.

Washington D.C.: September 10th, 2020 - 10:00 AM

The Amtrak Station...

Sophie snickered slightly at Anastasia's not-so-subtle putdown of Jinx. Phoebe and Esme had to agree with her as well - they couldn't imagine anyone ever wanting to reproduce with him, especially given the little stunt they had witnessed. In their opinion, Emma had put him in his place - and that place was as the laughingstock of the Hellfire Club. "Of course," Sophie told Anastasia. "I wouldn't dream of ruining your debut mission as the White Queen. We wouldn't want Emma to think you're not up to the task..." And while Sophie was focusing on driving the car, that left Esme and Phoebe free to pick apart at Jinx's argument. They had a lot of aggression to take out after their mother passed them over after all.

"Do you really believe you had anything to do with it?" Esme taunted.

"One of your petty little jinxes wouldn't have taken down Shaw," Phoebe agreed. "If they were really so powerful, Magneto never would have let you leave the Brotherhood of Mutants."

Esme nodded, smiling a bit cruelly. "No, Shaw's downfall needed a woman's touch - whatever contributions you made were minor compared to our telepathy... and Anastasia's morality reversal," she then finished, mentioning what Anastasia had done as more of an afterthought. It wasn't too long before Sophie pulled the car into the parking lot of an Amtrak station.

"The train's late," Sophie said, her eyes bright blue and then a moment, so were Esme and Phoebe's as they telepathically searched the area. "One of the workers nearby believes the train will come by here in ten minutes. We'll have the conductor stop the train, you two will just need to retrieve the mutants we came here for," the Three-in-One said in unison. "David and Valentine Haller," they added.

JFK Memorial Hospital - Gift Shop...

On the surface, it would be hard to distinguish a hospital gift shop from a children's souvenir store. Stuffed animals are on just about each and every shelf. Balloons are tied to the displays. Board games are stacked up to the ceiling and there are numerous greeting cards. However upon closer inspection, the cards are all geared towards sympathy and improving health. There are flowers sold in vases. Some sections of the shop are labeled with the age range and demographic they are geared for. Notices on what types of gifts are inappropriate for patients with given conditions are littered around the shop (such as a reminder that patients cannot eat 24 hours before surgery...)

Colossus picked up a white teddy bear with pink ribbons on it and he looked at it. "Do you think Illyana would like it?" he asked Moonwalker and Feedback seriously. He hadn't really seen his sister in years - was she too old for a teddy bear? He saw her as a little girl in his heart, but his mind knew logically that wasn't the case. She was grown now. Colossus then glanced at the clock. "It is time.... Feedback, once you begin, we will start distraction, da?" he said, more or less asking Feedback to start doing her part of this mission.

JFK Memorial Hospital - First Floor...

While they hadn't been able to identify where to get the medicine clearly from the plans, Casper had been hospitalized before for near overdoses. He thought for a moment, actually using his natural intelligence, and he realized that they tended to sort patients into wards. The medicine for treating drug addiction couldn't be kept too far from there, right? It didn't make sense to him for the nurses to be constantly running back and forth from the pharmacy, when they could have some sort of storage room on the ward.

"I got this," Casper told the others in his group, before he went up to the receptionist with a worried expression. "Hiii... We're here to visit our friend, but we can't figure out where his ward is," he told the receptionist.

"...What's his name?" the nurse asked, looking a bit skeptical.

"Give me a minute," Ben said, walking over behind the nurse's desk and looking at the list of recent admits she had. A moment later, Ben glanced up at Casper. "Danny Philips was admitted last night, heroin," he explained.

"Danny Philips," Casper replied. "We're awfully worried about him, we'd been trying to get him clean but... You know how it is, he just loves heroin..."

Ben flashed Casper a thumbs up. The nurse then typed something into her keyboard. "He's on the fifth floor - narcotics ward," she explained. "You can take the elevator over there straight on up. Room 4."

"Thank you so so much..."

The Cherry Bomb - Barroom...

Glimpse's bartender shrugged slightly. "Yeah, but what bar doesn't?" he asked her, chuckling a little bit as he started to clean some glasses. He frowned slightly though, his eyes darting over towards the door where Leighton, Max, and the other bartender had gone. It had been more than ten minutes since they went down there. "Damn it..." he muttered. There was no way his boss was going to like that - they weren't really supposed to go down there and if his co-worker was going to have a threesome there, he doubted that would end well.

There weren't any cameras behind the bar, but Glimpse would spot a bunch of polaroid photos pinned up of various drunk customers holding microphones. It was a karaoke bar, after all. Now, that wasn't to say she wouldn't see any cameras in the bar - she would be able to notice one above the front entrance that was aimed directly at the door that lead to the basement stairs. Havok had gotten up from the table he, Sunshine, and Spark Plug were at, before sliding into a seat next to Glimpse. "What do you know about the guy with Jack?" he asked her quietly. He didn't trust her, but he was going to see what information she had for him anyways.

With the food at her table finished and Havok having gone on over to Glimpse, Sunshine paused for a moment. She knew that she shouldn't just sit by herself - people were more likely to notice the underage teenager that way. Going up to the bar where Glimpse and Havok were wasn't an option, that would put her in direct line of sight with the bartender, and she didn't see the other four anywhere. Besides that... a part of her was curious about the man Jack was talking to - why had he been at her trial?

Getting up from her seat, she went and sat down next to Jack, looking at him and Essex. "Sup losers?" she greeted.

In the bathroom, Veil chuckled slightly at Spark Plug's suggestion and she smiled. "Sure, if you find a locked door, you can blast it," she told her friend. She then concentrated and she made both herself and Spark Plug invisible. Spark Plug would be able to vaguely see Veil, just enough so that way they wouldn't trip into each other, but no one else would be able to see them. "Come on," Veil said quietly, leaving the restroom and doing her very best to hardly open the door. She doubted anyone was just watching the bathroom, but she couldn't be too careful.

She then walked over to the door marked as the basement stairs and she gently pulled on the handle, the door creaking open slightly but it wasn't too loud. Slipping inside, she hoped that Spark Plug was right behind her. She was keeping the both of them invisible, so unless there were some sort of thermal cameras no one should be able to see them at the moment. One thing instantly struck Veil about the staircase though - there was no light. She could barely make out the glint of the door handle from the door at the bottom of the flight of stairs. "...Mind making a light?" she whispered. "Once the door closes behind us."

The Cherry Bomb - Basement...

The lights in the basement suddenly burst - POP, POP, POP! If there was anything for Leighton and Max to look for, it was obscured under a cover of darkness now. The door behind them, at the foot of the staircase, slammed shut. And then, like a scene out of a horror movie, the two new mutants would be able to see a pair of yellow eyes staring at them. "Du solltest nicht hier sein," the creature warned. The yellow eyes then vanished and Leighton would feel a strong pair of hands grab her, before a moment later she was no longer on the ground - she would get the sense that her entire body had been rapidly teleported somewhere else.

It would be easy for her to figure out where as a moment later she dropped suddenly, hitting one of the armchairs she and Max had been admiring moments ago. Her hip was going to be bruised from the fall, but otherwise she wasn't really injured. Max would feel a gust of wind near his head and then hear a crash as something collided into the wall near him - had this monster thrown something at him and narrowly missed?

Without finding a way to bring some light into the basement, they were going to be hard pressed to beat the creature with the yellow eyes...

Callie Johnson

Location: Washington DC, The Cherry Bomb
Skills: Electricity Manipulation

Callie smirked at her friend and nodded. "Thought you'd never ask." She said, as soon as Veil made the two of them invisible, seeing the vague outline of Veil and herself. Having gotten used to going invisible with Veil's powers, she followed her friend closely as possible, she was pretty sure that they didn't have any kind of thermal cameras but they probably did as well. Following Veil down the set of stairs and noticed that there wasn't any kind of lighting down there as well which was kind of odd as well. "Sure thing." Callie said to Veil, as she opened the door.

She was then greeted with a set of yellow eyes before her. "Well hello there ugly weirdo." Callie said, tried to light up the room with her powers, only for the creature, to grab her and throw her across the room. Feeling the wind getting knocked out of her, Callie attempted to electrocute the attacker. For whatever reason, either Yellow Eyes moved out of the way or she had missed completely only to zap her friend in the process. "Veil, you alright?" Callie called out to her, hopefully it didn't hurt her.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: The Cherry Bomb -- Washington D.C.
Skills: Telepathy

Luna smirked at the bartenders comment and continued to sip her drink. Along the wall with the various alcohol, where polaroid photos of past people who had sang either successfully or unsuccessfully and had their pictures taken. The patrons in the photos looked liked they had a good time with the time they had spent there. As she scanned she noted the cameras she had been looking for. They could probably get their hands on the footage if they asked the right questions, or created a distraction. As she made her scan, the bartender cursed and Luna glanced back at him and tried her hand at searching his mind again. She couldn’t gather much other than the fact that Leighton and Max weren’t supposed to be down in the basement with the other bartender. Which made Luna wonder, what was down there and what the others had possibly found.
Havok slid in next to Luna which surprised her but she kept that comment on a tight leash. They were on a mission and their feelings for each other did not matter on the mission. She sipped her drink again after his question and eyed the gentleman that Jack was talking to. ”Give me a moment,” she responded and switched from the bartender’s easy mind to the older man’s.
”Didn’t your father ever teach you to not intrude upon the minds of others… Little Britain?”
Luna smirked and saw several flashes of his memory from a life long gone before she was forced from the man’s mind. It was rather violent and Luna felt hot liquid dribble down her nose. She grabbed a nearby napkin and held it to her nose, pinching the bridge of it to stop the sudden nose bleed. ”He seems to know who I am, though I have never seen him before but he isn’t from here. He’s old, like Victorian old and originally from England,” Luna informed him. Which might be another reason why he may know her family.
Luna glanced back to the bartender than the Polaroids on the back wall. ”The bartender is a little worried for the people who just went downstairs,” Luna mumbled to Havok. ”Do you think you may recognize anyone in those photos that you would want a closer look at so I could get downstairs,” she asked Havok. Either she needed to provide a distraction to get downstairs, or he did. There was something down there, even if this bartender didn’t know what it was but he did know they weren’t supposed to be down there.

Cayden looked over at Colossus when asked if his sister would like the bear he held. ”Uh, she might but see if there is something more neutral bud. One with less, bows,” he said and smiled at Colossus. Cayden poked around at some of the other gifts, seeing what sort of trinkets they had and just keeping his hands and mind busy. He heard Waverley and wandered to her side. ”Why would it be bad if they are wireless?” He wasn’t completely savvy on technology as he didn’t have much growing up.
Cayden looked over at the clock when Colossus spoke up. The pressure would be on now and Cayden wondered if Waverley worked well under pressure. He laid a hand on Waverley’s arm and gave her a reassuring smile. ”Take your time and breathe. Think it through. If you are feeling rushed or not completely focused, you may overlook something. We got you covered on the outside,” he reassured.

With every pop if the light, Max's shoulders flinched more and more and more. His eyes widening as he froze, watching the darkness look closer and closer to him until it was finally pitch black. All that could be heard was a soft squeal, the squeak of a mouse who had met its final fate. This was the worst possible outcome. Not being trapped, or found, or a potential fight, no, but being in complete and utter darkness. His fear began to take over him, hands trembling as he looked around for any source of light. There was a bamf and then another followed by a soft thud. "L-Leighton?" Suddenly there was a sharp breeze blowing past his ear, the sound of something smacking against the wall as he jumped in place and tried hard not to cry. A flash of yellow appeared, two dots glowing amidst the umbral sea that gave him pause and caused shivers to flow up his spine. Why did it have to be darkness? He attempted to move but his legs wouldnt listen, standing still quivering beneath him until there was the sound of the door again trailed behind a familiar voice.

Oh thank god Callie is here! She could manipulate lightning or something so perhaps she could get some light back in the room? But would that still be possible without any bulbs to conduct? His mind started racing, looking for any idea as to how to escape this nightmare of his until finally it paused at the most unlikely of thoughts. Raving outfits. Bright glowing clothes with LEDS, filaments, and other such sources to light up a darkened room for a colorful night. There was another loud bang as someone was tossed in the darkness and he knew he needed to act quick. Max concentrated on the task at hand and created two glowing ponchos, one for Leighton which shined a bright pink and another for himself which was a baby blue. Each appeared by their feet and Max picked up his, placing it on himself. "Leighton grab your glowing poncho! It should help us see in the dark."

Jinx sat there scoffing at the idea that it was all due to their telepathy that the kill went off without a hitch. Did they even know Shaw? Know of his powers and how pathetic the three in one's powers were in comparison? No, they may be smart but they're not exactly bright. He would let them believe that they were the ones responsible for his downfall if that was what it took to shut them up. As for the remark on Jinxs powers, he rolled his eyes so hard they could've fallen out of his skull. He didn't leave Magneto, he left the Brotherhood. He was still working under Magneto, still within the mutants grasp, and that showed him all he needed. Just because he had left the Brotherhood didnt mean that Magneto couldnt utilize his powers if needed. Besides, Wanda would've killed Jinx had he continued to run his mouth near her so leaving was most likely a safer option. It was true that she was kind to him and showed him how to harness his powers into more lethal weapons, but even the biggest saint would have a hard time not getting annoyed by the boys antics.

There was a short sigh as he looked out of the Jeep window, thinking back to those days of training, blasting holes into the yard as he tried so hard to impress Wanda with his skill, one they seemed to share. He left the group with dreams and ambitions, much like other youths who leave for New York I'm Hope's to become a star. His ambition however came with a price, and that price was being a grunt for the Hellfire Club until he would be able to take down this human government and its leader. He didn't see his leave as a betrayal or anything of that, it was a transfer within the same company as far as he was concerned. The main difference being that now he was in the heart of hatred, where purifiers ran rampant and he could kill to his sweet content, or just jinx their lives to be worse for their days. His eyes snapped back as he finally heard what theyd be doing and he looked back out the window once more "Do what you wish, just don't fuck this up ok? I'll do my part and you do yours."

"Now who might this be?" Essex asked Jack, seeing that Sunshine had joined them.

"No one important," he said instantly, getting more then a little annoyed that Sunshine had come over to them and sat down. It took a lot to get Jack to potentially snap, he usually kept calm and was fine with dealing with everything else. But no, he was getting a little close to just shoving Sunshine away from the table. Far far away, since the teenager clearly didn't get how "blending in" worked, since otherwise she would not have been here.

"What's your name?"

"Don't answer that," Jack said instantly, before putting his hands to the side of Sunshine's head to cover her ears. This was not the sort of conversation he was wanting to have, though truth be told he didn't really want to be having a conversation with Essex at all.

"You need to learn to lighten up Jacques, why does it seem like you always assume that I am up to something?"

"Because half the time you are... And why do I feel like you already know the answer to the question of who she is? Knowing you, you know everyone in the room already, since that''s just the type of person that you are. You still aren't going to tell me the actual reason you are here?"

"No, especially not if you keep asking."

"I can try you know..."

James' words didn't exactly sit well with her, giving their current circumstances, and she turned to look at him. So, here they were, on a mission to get medication for someone which they were essentially stealing, and he just said that he couldn't lie to really save his life. That was a big hell no in her book. Since it was part of their job description practically. Mutant Underground looking for new members, must be able to lie your way out of a cardboard box! This was going to be a major problem, what had the guy been expecting from this job anyway? To do nothing?

"...So let me get this straight... You are here, on a job that people likely are going to ask questions about things, and you what, expected to just sit there and do nothing? Hope that no one asks you questions? That is just being naive and continues to prove my point about how most of you newbies don't have a freaking clue what you are doing and yet are still here," she said with an eye roll, before she listened to what Casper was doing. At least someone out of the newbies was competent somewhat, heading towards the elevator, she glanced back at the other two, "So, you two coming?"

“Thank you very much.” James repeated Casper’s sentiment with a smile and a head nod for the nurse before he made his way toward the elevator. He chuckled at Sapphire’s little tirade, completely unphased. James never expected to sit around and do nothing. Like he told Viel when he offered to assist scouting, James knew how to make himself blend in pretty well into the woodwork even if he was around a decent chunk of people. Considering they were stealing, James was pretty comfortable that would come in handy somewhere along the trip. Sapphire was a prickly one but this whole situation was stressful; who wouldn’t be?

“That’s part of the reason I suggested I help check out the new place. I didn’t think I’d be much help here considering I don’t know Danny so I’m just here to be supportive. And if you guys want some alone time with him, just say the word and I’ll chill outside with your meds. You won’t even remember I was there, promise.” James shrugged, hitting the button to call the elevator. He flashed Casper a thumbs up before he stuffed his hands in his pockets while they waited.

Leighton felt assured before she heard popping noises as the room filled with darkness. Before she could speak or move, she saw something yellow in front of her. It took her a minute to realize they were eyes. She felt herself get grabbed and moved rather quickly before she fell to the ground. Or rather, the armchair. She rubbed her injured hip. She was pissed now, but she was also right. The basement was the right way to go, they just had to deal with this idiot.

She heard Max call out to her and then she saw something glow. It wasn't super bright, but it lit up its own area. And it looked so fashionable too! She slipped over and grabbed her poncho, putting it on. She still couldn't see the room, but it helped. "Thanks, now let's deal with this guy." Pinpointing where he was proved to be difficult, but she managed somehow, finding him and using her ice powers to unleash a freeze blast on him. It hit her mark and he appeared frostbitten. She then heard voices as Callie came into the room. "Me and Tome are down here too Spark Plug. It might get chilly in here." Leighton tried to use her sense to find the door and she threw an ice blast at it, but it missed its mark. Thankfully, no one else got hurt. But she wanted to get the room as cold as possible. It would, hopefully, slow the demon down.

Ana listened as the Three-in-One put down Jinx repeatedly, and did their very best to try to get her as well. It was cute how jealous they proved to be at her promotion. She would have to see to showcasing her potential and power to them at a later date. For now, she had a mission to do. "Our task is to infiltrate the train and find Legion and his sister. Or Dave and Valentine Haller as they said. They are not to be harmed as they are potential recruits, but they did not say that they had to come in conscious. However, I feel discretion is key here. No need to start anything if we do not have to. So please, do try not to mess things up in there with your jinxes if you can help it. We don't need a train crashing to further stigmatize mutant kind and make our jobs harder."

Ana waited for the train to come so they could get on. She was confident in herself, not so much in the others with her, but that was the price one paid for leadership, wasn't it? You could never truly believe in those beneath you, especially when it was so clear they did not have your best interests at heart. It mattered little. She would handle this task and then take the next step in her plan with the Hellfire Club. That name would have to go though, it just sounded like they were trying too hard. She'd think of a name later. Perhaps even a uniform or dress code. Can't have her subordinates looking like anything but the best, could she?

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: Hospital Gift Shop
Skills: Radio Wave Interpretation

For a moment, Waverley's eyes darted over to the teddy bear Colossus held, looking puny in his massive hand. Had she been in a calmer state, she would have given a vague affirmation concerning the gift, unsure of how to tell the sweet currently non-metal metal man that the gift probably wasn't the best option. But instead, she quickly pulled her eyes off the gift, staring instead straight at some random vase of flowers on a shelf in front of her. She tried to focus, but she could feel her insides tying into knots. Her mind, instead of filling with radio transmissions, only seemed to fill with all the things that could possibly go wrong. She was pulled out of her anxiety-driven pondering when she heard Cayden ask her a question.

"Wireless is what we want," she corrected, her voice quick and panicked in her explanation. "Wireless means radio waves, radio waves means I can actually do something with them." As she spoke, she continued to attempt mental jabs at the theoretical radio waves, to no avail. Then she felt a hand on her arm, and looked over to make eye contact with Cayden. She gave him a slight nod, took a few deep breaths, and closed her eyes. She could feel a bulk of her anxiety dissolve as she let her mind go blank, lightly pulling at the intangible waves around her. After a few moments, she felt as the static of her mind faded into the image of a hospital waiting room. Her lips stretched and parted, revealing a dorky grin that seemed to take up the majority of her lower face.

"I'm in," she croaked in her best (and yet still awful) guttural impression of a hacker out of a 90's movie. She flipped from camera to camera, until she eventually landed on one with three familiar figures standing outside an elevator. She strained her mind, attempting to blur together the images of their companions, but she only succeeded with one of them. It wasn't enough to wipe the smile off of her face, though she admitted to herself it probably would've just been a better idea to cut the cameras off completely. She stretched her mind further, managing to, for the most part, redirect the doctors on their floor away from them. There were a few stragglers, but for the most part they seemed to be in the clear. "I've got eyes on Team Cryotherapy," she began. The name wasn't her best work, and it only really took into account Sapphire and James, as she didn't know what the scrawny guy's power was, but it was the best she could come up with. "I haven't cut them out of the cameras yet, but I can do that later. Once the distraction's rolling, I'll jam the phones," she said, infinitely more confident than she'd been only moments prior.

Washington D.C.: September 10th, 2020 - 10:10 AM

The Amtrak Station...

"Don't worry, Jinx, we've got this," the Three-in-One said in unison. Their eyes were glowing blue and it wasn't too long before the train came into view. There was no sign of it slowing down initially, until the girls smirked. "Stop the train," they ordered, speaking into the mind of the conductor. There was a loud screech as the train came to a rapid halt, a metallic scent clinging to the air. The triplets then dove into the mind of the security guard on the train, commanding him to draw his gun on the conductor and other staff members. "Fire. Fire. Fire."

The sound of gunshots on the train wasn't muffled, with the staff members dead and just the patients remaining. The triplets then turned to look at Jinx and the White Queen. "We'll have the car ready - good luck," they then said. There looked to be about three passenger cars on the train, so hopefully it wouldn't take the two of them too long to find Legion and his sister... but then again, they were about to enter a train filled with highly unstable mutants.

What could possibly go wrong?

JFK Memorial Hospital - Gift Shop...

Colossus frowned slightly, putting down the frilly stuffed bear and he grabbed the next best one - it was plain brown with a propeller hat. He smiled slightly, hoping that his sister would like it. The X-Men associate spun the propeller lightly, watching the cheaply made piece of plastic move for just a few moments. He always tried to remind himself to appreciate the little things in life, especially when doing hero work. Any day could be his last.

"Good work," Colossus praised Feedback. He went up to the cashier and paid for the bear, putting it carefully into a little bag, before he stepped back and turned into his metallic form, letting out an exaggerated roar as he awkwardly picked up a display case and threw it across the room. "Da, I am angry! Raaaaaa!" Colossus shouted. Somehow, he was even less frightening than he was normally... It seemed that Feedback and Moonwalker would need to really supplement this distraction.

JFK Memorial Hospital - Fifth Floor...

Casper had gotten into the elevator with James and Sapphire, about to defend James against Sapphire's accusations only for him to defend himself - and role-play a bit while he was at it. Casper filed that under information that was helpful to have for the future, especially if this was going to turn into some sort of a relationship. "Look, I get it, we're all stressed as shit with what Danny is going through... And yes Sapphire you've been friends with him way longer than we have, but you know what they say in Girl Scouts, our cookie overlords? Make new friends and keep the old - one is silver but another's gold. So you're gold, we're silver, and together, we're any robber's dream."

"...Right, so I'm going to forget you ever said that," Ben muttered. "Let's just get the drugs and leave, okay?"

Casper nodded, taking a deep breath. He could see shimmering shapes at the edges of his vision, usually signaling that some ghosts were about to manifest, but none of them had so far (except for Ben). He let out a bit of a sigh and glanced around. He didn't see any doctors at the moment, meaning that maybe Feedback had done her job or maybe all of the doctors were just around the corner or something. At any rate, stalling wasn't going to help anyone so Casper walked to the left and headed down the hallway, hoping that they would stumble across the medicine room soon.

The Cherry Bomb - Barroom...

Havok looked at the Polaroid photos for a moment, thinking. "Well that's Negasonic," he murmured, pointing out one of the grumpy looking teen and an Asian girl with pink hair (Yuriko, Negasonic's girlfriend). None of the others stood out to him at first, until he saw one and it sent a jolt down his spine. "...That's Mystique, she uses that form a lot," Havok explained. What was Mystique doing on the wall of the Cherry Bomb - she was an associate of Magneto, not Shaw. And why would someone working with Magneto ever have anything to do with Shaw? The two of them should have been natural enemies from what Havok knew - especially if the theory that Shaw was a Nazi scientist was correct.

But what Glimpse had said about the man Jack was talking with... It kept on gnawing away at him. He had heard about someone like that before - and he was pretty certain it had been his brother, Scott, who told him. "That's frustratingly familiar... My brother knows who that is, I'm certain of it," he offered, keeping his voice low so that way Jack and the mysterious stranger wouldn't be able to hear them. "... But if Scott told me about him, he's not good news. My brother I swear knows more villains than heroes..."

Sunshine frowned as Jack put his hands over her ears, she wasn't a little kid. And besides, with him doing that, it was only going to draw attention to how she was definitely too young to be in a place like this. "Ugh, Hufflepuff, I don't need you to do that," Sunshine protested. "I'm not a baby," she reminded him. She then started trying to pry his hands off of her ears, but he was a lot stronger than her and she made little to no progress.

"Relax, Jacques, I'm afraid I have some... business... to attend to," Essex said, rising from the booth and taking his cane. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Electra," he said, winking at his son before exiting the bar, using the cane to support his weight as he walked. It wasn't too long before he was completely out of sight, even when looking out the bar windows. For a man with a limp, he had an amazing walking pace - almost too good to be true.

"Damn it get your hands off of me," Sunshine hissed. "I wanted to ask him why the hell he was at my trial..." she then added, figuring that maybe that would get Jack to care. And since her chance to get answers had just walked out of the Cherry Bomb - and she hadn't noticed anything yet connecting this place to Erg's death - she could take a few minutes to grill the P.I. about all of this. "What do you know about him? Tell me or I'll give you the flu - it's way too early for you to have been vaccinated so that can't protect you." Of course, even if Jack said anything, she wouldn't really be able to hear it with his hands over her ears.

The Cherry Bomb - Basement...

Veil had been sent flying backwards, her head about to collide with the base of the staircase when she quickly threw up a force field. She smacked directly into it, but at the very least it was a slightly softer and far less lethal blow. Forcing herself back up to her feet, she could hardly see what was going on in the room in front of her - there were two glowing figures and then a pair of yellow eyes in the darkness. "Yeah, just peachy," she called back. She had dropped the invisibility around her and Spark Plug, mostly since it wasn't worth the energy it took to keep it up at the moment.

There was some ice now on the wall by the door, but it wasn't enough to really do anything to impact the temperature of the room. Veil, however, noted that Max was down in here - and that made her say something she was almost certain she would regret. "Max - summon some lanterns!" They had the advantage over fireballs of being easy to control and the advantage over most things of not needing any electricity to operate. She didn't trust Max with summoning fire, but lanterns? Hopefully he could manage that.

"Dein Ziel ist scheiße, Mädchen," the demon, Nightcrawler, whispered in Leighton's ear. He grabbed onto her and they teleported again. This time he threw Leighton into the bookcase and she hit the ground, a few volumes of books falling off the shelves and hitting the ground around her. She was rather lucky that none of them actually hit her - that would have smarted quite a bit. The demon then teleported again, appearing in front of Max, and Nightcrawler wrapped his tail around Max's neck, starting to strangle the mutant.

"Und diese Blätter sind dumm."

Jack didn't really care too much to listen to Sunshine's protests. It was her own damn fault for coming over, to a conversation she shouldn't be listening to in the first place. He had a fairly easy time making it difficult for her to hear anything, and he wasn't too sure about how his father knew what Sunshine's name was, though it was probably for the better overall that he didn't ask him. This whole situation was going downhill the instant his father said he had some business to take care of and left, it was just his tone of voice that sort of sent shivers down his spine.

Once Essex had left, and Sunshine started threatening him, he rolled his eyes and removed his hands away from her ears. "You should not have come over here Sunshine damn it, ever heard of when you typically go in separate groups, don't go bother the people in one of the others since you aren't technically supposed to know each other unless you have some actual thing to say? Seriously, that is literally the biggest mistake you could have made Rookie. You can't let your own curiosity stop the job we are clearly trying to do, called gather information about what's been going on, and for all we knew he might have known something, but guess we'll never know now. I don't know why he was at your trial. Hell, I haven't seen him in a few years now myself, so why do you think I know why he was at your trial? I never know why he does anything, because let me tell you, you want absolutely nothing to do with that man, got it? So don't go asking around about him either. Knowing him it'll end badly for you."

With those last words, Jack got out of the booth that they were sitting at and turned to look her in the eye. "I get it, you are still a kid and learning how the world works. Yes, you lived on the streets trying to survive, but trust me finding the truth is sometimes the worst thing that could happen to you. If he was at your trial, then I'd just stop asking questions if I were you. Look, I don't mean to sound this way, but someone needs to give you a reality check before you get hurt. Not to mention someone else, since if you used your powers in here, things would end badly for everyone who came to this place with you, not just yourself. I'm not lecturing you since I'm afraid you'll make me sick or anything, I'm doing it because I don't want to see you get hurt Rookie... Anyway, I'm going over to the bar to see what Glimpse and Havok or whatever are talking about, you are more then welcome to follow, actually I'd recommend it, pretty sure they don't check ID at all in this place, come on... I don't want to leave you by yourself," he said, before he stood up straight and walked over to the bar, going over next to Glimpse, not saying a word.

Sapphire

Sapphire shot a bit of a glare, a hint of blue crept into her hazel eyes, but she kept it back and it shifted back to it's typical color. Now was not the time to lose control and freeze Casper right now or anything. "...Why would I care at all about what the Girl Scouts say Casper? I never was one, at all. I honestly thought that the Girl Scouts were a bit weird if you ask me, but I always liked the Thin Mint cookies," she said with a bit of a smirk, figuring that she might as well go along with what he was saying.

Glancing around, and continuing to hope that they didn't get caught, Sapphire made her way down the hallway, trying to find the room that they were looking for, the room that would have the medication that they needed in order to help Magik. It didn't matter too much if they got caught, they could probably find a way to talk their way out of the situation if need be, but she hoped that they wouldn't need to. Eventually, she found the room they were looking for, "And here we are..."

Callie Johnson

Location: Washington DC, The Cherry Bomb, Basement
Skills: Empathy

Callie turned her attention to those that were in the room and nodded slightly towards where Leighton's voice was. "Alright then, you two." Callie said, and then noticed two glowing ponchos appearing on the ground. Why ponchos instead of flashlights she really didn't have a clue at all. "Ponchos really, why not flashlights? They are so much uglier than the X-Men's suits." Callie said sarcastically, she was glad that she didn't actually end up joining the X-Men when she was younger. They didn't even allow her anyway if she did Callie didn't really work well with a team except for the Underground since she felt more comfortable with them all.

Callie then looked at the glowing yellow eyes, closing her eyes for a moment to try and get a feel what he was feeling right now, her body seized up. Feeling the emotions of addiction going through her, and wanting to attack everyone in the room, it felt really good to her as she laughed slightly. Callie tried to send the same emotions to both Veil and Max as well, she stared where Leighton was now with the colored poncho she was wearing.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: The Cherry Bomb -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Mystique. Luna tried to jar her memory on the name while she looked at the picture and listened to Havok continue to speak. It seemed the mystery man wasn’t completely mysterious though if Havok’s brother knew of him. ”Perhaps you can call him later and get some information. If Jack doesn’t tell us everything.” Luna finished her drink and shifted in her seat. ”Oi! That one picture there, the pretty blonde, could I see that for a moment? She looks like a friend I know,” Luna told the bartender.
Jack came over and sat on the other side of Luna. She looked at him, trying to gauge his attitude and how to broach the subject. She figured being blunt would be the best avenue. Quickest too. ”I took the liberty of taking a walk upstairs and your friend, he seems a little old for you. By a few hundred years.” Luna’s eyes wandered back over to the door that lead to the basement. Something was going on down there. They wouldn’t be down there that long if they hadn’t found some thing but whether it was dangerous or not was a different question.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: JFK Memorial Hospital -- Washington D.C.
Skills: Enhanced Strength

Waverley seemed to relax a bit from Cayden’s words and slowly, the signal of her face shifting told Cayden it had worked. He smirked a bit at the expression on her face, it was cute. Cayden looked over at Colossus as he picked up a different bear and spun the little propeller on the hat. He couldn’t help but picture him doing that as the big silver guy and it was a rather comical sight. Of course what happened next was even more comical. Colossus didn’t even remotely sound convincing in claiming to be angry. Cayden watched the shelving unit be thrown and sighed a little. They needed something that would get security to come running and maybe doctors to keep them away from the floor the drug team was on. Or team Cryotherapy according to Waverley.
Cayden tried to act shocked at Colossus’s actions while looking around, trying to think of an idea to cause a bigger distraction. He looked at another display case and shrugged. Why not. ”Really? You call that an angry smash?” Cayden picked up the display case and stepped to the side unevenly. The case swayed and he nearly dropped the awkward weight on himself but he managed to let go and it smashed lamely in front of him. ”Huh, that’s a lot harder than it looks,” Cayden said, trying to brush off his embarrassment. ”How about a throwing contest?!” Cayden picked up a nearby glass figurine and got ready to throw it into the main portion of the hospital.

Max felt the chill of Leighton’s ice fly past him as it hit near the door, the sudden frigid ness making him glad that he now had a poncho for a bit of warmth. He couldn’t quite tell how this mutant was getting around, but if it was super speed then perhaps her idea of dropping the temperature had a lot of merit. Make the speedster burn more calories just to keep warm and they’ll quickly run out of stamina to be able to fight. Veil asked Max to create some lanterns for them all to see, and panic soon set in. There was two ways he could think about doing them, one was your typical oil lantern which used real flames (an issue Max had been dealing with lately) another is to make electrical lanterns, but those are more complex to create. In conjunction with all of that, he was worried that using his powers too much would inevitably cause for him to mess up again and take another life, something he was no where near being ready to do again. Despite this, an order was an order and he would trust that Veil knew what she was asking. As he went to speak there was a sudden thwap around his neck and he was soon being choked by what he could only assume was a tail.

Panic set in as the situation became more and more dire until suddenly that panic was gone, over ridden by a new set of emotions that gave him a nice high yet increased his aggression. He could feel the others who felt the same as him, knowing who to strike. The demon, however, still had a grip on him and Max was sure to rectify it. Using the training he’d had growing up, he swung his right leg up in the air and wrapped it around Nightcrawlers tail, pulling it down and forcing the mutant to release his grasp on him. Now that he was free to fight who he wished, Max turned his ire towards the leader of this group, the one who made him go on a mission when he wasn’t ready to be back on his feet. He searched for the bat Leighton had used earlier but to no avail. That’s fine, there are other ways to break kneecaps. As he approached the frizzy haired mutant, he side kicked her aiming for the kneecaps to help further incapacitate her but was met with a force field blocking him. This setback didn’t discourage him as he quickly went for another hit, this time an open palm to her lower ribs. He felt the hit connect, but again it was merely her powers blocking his attacks and fueling the aggression that he was harboring towards her.

Peter Jackson Bernard

Location: Waiting for a train.

Jinx gave Anastasia an over exaggerated bow as she finished speaking. ”Anything for you my queen. I shall make sure that I don’t raise suspicion, make a mess, or otherwise give mutants a bad name.” There was some sincerity within his statement, however it was clear that he still wasn’t too pleased that she got a promotion while he got a reprimand. She was, however, a much better choice than the Three in One and he savored every moment that he could feel their bitterness towards the subject. No sooner had Anastasia asked Jinx not to do unnecessary harm than the three in one had gone off and killed some humans on board. He rolled his eyes at the display and tapped his finger on his lips as he eyed the three stooges. [color=CC99FF]”Ah I see you guys also don’t know what the word discretion means, good i suppose that means this weeks mutant manic panic can be blamed on you three stooges. Now if you’ll excuse me you over glorified train brakes, i’ve got some VIPs to escort.”[color]

As Jinx made his way towards the train, his finger found its way towards his mothers ring. Softly touching it as he took his steps towards what he hoped would be praise and greatness, or at the very least more freedom to take down the American government so that mutants could rule the world as they rightfully should. ”Mere observent s’il vous plait au-dessus de moi” He kissed the ring and placed it back into his pocket before proceeding to the middle train car. Sure there was a one in three chance that they’d be in there but it made sense to have the other two full of guards and the center protected, or at least that was his logic. He popped a piece of bubble gum in his mouth and tried to make his way into the center train car.

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: Mutant Underground, Washington D.C. Station
Skills: Radio Wave Interpretation

Waverley switched from watching the elevator camera to watching one of the cameras in the hallway as Team Cryotherapy exited the elevator and began strolling down the hall. From what Waverley could tell, they didn't exactly have a clear idea as to where they were going, but seeing as they'd made it this far on their powers of deduction alone, she had no reason to doubt their ability to get to the medicine room. After all, her job wasn't to watch them. It was to make sure know one else could. With that thought, she felt her mind wrap around the security camera system, and, for lack of a better word, gently pulled on it, attempting to pull it out of its metaphorical socket. But despite her efforts, it failed to disconnect.

To make matters worse, Team Cryotherapy had just reached the medicine room, meaning, more likely than not, she'd have to delete some footage as well as disconnect the cameras. Just as Waverley was about to try again, however, she heard the sounds of things sliding off a stand, and opened her right eye to look around the gift shop. She did so just in time to see Colossus half-heartedly throwing a stand across the gift shop, without an ounce of malice in his metal body. Her eye darted over to watch as Cayden tried for the same thing, only to fall short in a different way, picking up a display case and almost immediately dropping it. Her eyebrows furrowed at the series of less-than-effective distractions, before closing her open eye. She couldn't throw a display case, but maybe she could still help with the distraction. She let her mental grasp on the cameras slack for a second as she instead latched onto the hospital PA system. Once she had, she grasped at the first song that came to mind, a somewhat morbid choice given their current location, and began to feed it to the PA system. The music began to play throughout the hospital, though it wasn't nearly loud enough to be as effective as Waverley was hoping for.

"Guys, I have a feeling we might not be very good distractors." she said, her smile still present on her face, though a hint of worry was seeping through.

Leighton Brooks

Location: The Cherry Bomb - Washington D.C.
Skills Ice Manipulation

Leighton didn't know what was happening with Callie and Veil and she only partially understood where the teleporting man was with the help of the ponchos. Before she could step forward, she heard him whisper in her ear before she was moved and thrown against one of the bookshelves she had seen before. She hit the ground hard, but thankfully that was it. She stood up just in time to hear Veil call out to Max to create more light. When she saw that Max wasn't responding, she got concerned. Thanks to Max's poncho and some strangled sounds, she knew he was being choked by the demon.

She summoned her ice powers on her hands, chilling them over. She ran forward and attempted to grab his neck. Max had been released and the demon teleported away. "Face me! Only cowards hide in darkness." She didn't have a sense to where he was, but she shot off her ice powers, missing tow times, but her third hit him on the tail. So she got him at last. With her hands still icy, if he tried to grab her again, she'd have access to him and he would feel the chill.

Anastasia Reinhardt

Location: Train Heist

Ana merely sighed as the triplets did their thing, stopping the train and then proceeding to cause chaos by having them kill each other. "So, now the train with unstable mutants is aware of something going on. The element of surprise has been shattered. I will make note of this and report it later." She directed the subtle threat towards the triplets. Once they were gone, she sidled up next to Jinx. "If you have any survival instinct left in you, you need to learn not to question or insult people with the ability to make your brain bleed from the inside out. Challenging Emma and the triplets will only seek to get you killed." The same held true for her, should Jin feel the need to rise up to her.

She allowed Jinx to go first through the cars. After all, should any of the mutants inside begin to fight back she'd rather they target him first. As they entered the train cars, mutants sat in the seat, restrained and sedated. This was how humans wanted them. Corralled up like prisoners when they should be out there ruling. It was only a matter of time, she reminded herself.

She noted that a big metal box stood where the restrooms on a normal train would be. And it was chained shut. "Do keep an eye on that box, dear Jinx. If that one is chained, I imagine whoever is inside it is quite dangerous. Wouldn't want to upset them."

James Kingston

Location: The Hospital
Skills: N/A

James quirked a brow at Casper’s commentary, huffing out a quiet laugh as they stepped off the elevator. Was that really something they said in the Girl Scouts? What a weird little saying, though he was sure Casper just added on the last bit. A robber’s dream. That was his attempt at subtly explaining the situation and offering to bounce with the goods once they got it but James apparently wasn’t very good at that either. He hummed a little as they looked for their destination.

While they did, James let himself consider Sapphire. After he opened his mouth, low key regretting saying anything honestly, he expected another reprimand but nothing came even as they stepped off the elevator. He could understand why she snapped at him. A stressful situation and an unknown variable were hard but she seemed the type not to let something go once she identified it as a problem. He was just relieved that they could focus on the job and he’d keep an eye out for an impending explosion once they escaped.

When they reached the door, James took a moment to look around but something else hit him. “Do we have a way to contact them so we can coordinate? It’s risky now but doubly so if they haven’t started.” James spoke softly.

The Amtrak Station...

The Three-in-One rolled their eyes at Jinx collectively. They had been working for the Hellfire Club for a while and they were certain what they had done was right. Leaving those humans alive would have just left a loose end. It was better to kill the staff, grab the prisoners they were interested in, and let free the rest... The media would find someone to blame for the escape, likely the prisoners themselves, and they would have no knowledge of the Hellfire Club's involvement. Kidnapping the children of Professor X without giving the easy explanation that Legion and the Tenth Muse had wandered off would bring down the X-Men, S.H.I.E.L.D., maybe even the Avengers. This was how they were going to keep the Hellfire Club secret - by staging a crime. "We look forward to reading the report," they quipped to Anastasia. Emma Frost was their genetic template, their mother - they doubted she would ever hurt them and she was now the Lord Imperial, the boss.

The mutants on the train were in various stages of stupor. They were all heavily sedated and restrained, collars around their necks dampening their powers and rendering them defenseless. The metal cages that Anastasia noticed had numbers stamped onto them - as well as greek letters. On one of the boxes was an omega - Ω. The rest of the crates had alphas - α. Some of the mutants were muttering to themselves quietly, rocking back and forth slightly as that was all the restraints really permitted them to do. On their wrists, they had bands with either betas - β or gammas - γ on them.

JFK Memorial Hospital - Gift Shop...

"Da, for Mother Russia!" Colossus agreed. He picked up the cash register, carefully set down its contents neatly on the countertop, before he flung it out of the gift shop and into the hallway, where it skidded only to be stopped by someone's boot. Had Colossus not been in his metal form, the color from his face would have drained as he saw who it was.

"Sick choice in song," Vulcan complimented Feedback, smirking at her. He must have escaped since they left the Mutant Underground, but to be fair they hadn't really left anyone behind to watch him. Everyone had just assumed he couldn't free himself and that he would remain unconscious. His eyes were a bit red and he sniffled, before cracking his fists. "Still gonna kill you though, sorry babe."

Vulcan surrounded himself in energy, lifting himself up into the air as he hovered, staring at the Mutant Underground members. And then, all of the sudden, he shot immense blasts of energy out of his eyes and hands. The blasts were about to hit Feedback when Colossus jumped in front of her, taking the blast and falling to the ground, his metal skin somehow smoking.

"I guess I see why you were never good enough for the X-Men, huh Piotr? Couldn't find your sister... Couldn't even tie up a prisoner properly."

"Feedback, Moonwalker, run," Colossus requested. "I vill handle Vulcan."

JFK Memorial Hospital - Fifth Floor...

A significant part of Casper felt a rush as they arrived outside of the medicine room. He had just gotten out of rehab and while that meant he had already gone through withdrawal, his fingers still itched to grab a bottle of pills. He wanted desperately to pop them, to let himself float along a high rather than deal with the sharp feelings that defined his sober moments. "...Blue Oyster? Sick!" Ben exclaimed, playing an air guitar as the music Feedback summoned played over the speakers.

"Bit of a morbid choice though, don't ya think?" he asked Casper.

"...Well unless the hospital likes playing Don't Fear the Reaper, I think they've probably started," he pointed out to James. The reaper wasn't what people needed to be afraid of anyways - it was the souls of those who remained behind. There was nothing more terrifying than a mob of ghosts, all screaming at you for attention, for love, for help with their unfinished business... Just thinking about it make Casper want to scream and run for the hills. He never wanted to be the helpless little boy trapped in a mausoleum again. "Frosty, can you jimmy the lock?" Casper asked, figuring that Sapphire would just freeze it and snap it off.

"I can be look out," Ben offered.

"Ben says he'll watch out for anyone coming."

The Cherry Bomb - Barroom...

Sunshine inhaled sharply as Jack scolded her for going over to him, treating her like an idiotic little kid. She followed him with her eyes as he got out of the booth and turned back to look at her, fighting the blush threatening to form on her face out of shame. Her fingers twitched slightly and she curled her hands into fists, not saying a word as Jack went over to the bar, even as he requested that she go over there with him. All she wanted was to get vengeance for Erg and then someone who had, for whatever reason, attended her trial was here.

The bartender raised an eyebrow at Glimpse, before grabbing the photograph and bringing it on over. "Here ya go," he told her, before stepping away from her and Havok. He had a lot of glassware to catch up on cleaning, especially since his co-worker still hadn't returned from the basement. The bartender's phone buzzed and he glanced down, sighing slightly at the text that came in. "Sorry folks, we've got a burst water pipe in the basement, gotta shut down for the day!" he called out, loud enough for everyone to hear him.

"You two thinking what I'm thinking?" Havok muttered. It was a little bit convenient - some of their people had gone down there to investigate and now, the bartender was asking everyone to leave the bar. It would've just been a coincidence had Yukio not given them a tip about this place and the horrible things being done to innocent mutants here. "I smell a barroom brawl coming on," he then added softly.

The patrons were grumpily leaving the bar, with enough of them getting up and heading for the exit that Sunshine saw an opportunity. Jack, Glimpse, and Havok had the bartender distracted too. She slipped out of the booth and made her way across the barroom quickly, opening the door to the basement staircase and she closed it behind her, emerging into darkness. Holding still for a moment, Sunshine reached her hands out until she felt the wall against her fingertips. She tentatively reached one of her feet forward, trying to gently set her foot down on the next step but she overshot it. Her balance gave out all of the sudden and the next thing she knew, she was falling forward. The darkness of the staircase made it impossible to see as Sunshine fell down the flight of stairs, hitting her head against the closed door at the bottom with a resounding THUD.

"...Oww..." she mumbled, clutching her head. She was incredibly lucky that she hadn't cracked her skull open.

The Cherry Bomb - Basement...

Veil heard the thud near the doorway, but it was too dark for her to really tell what it was - it could have easily been the mutant they were fighting slamming himself or someone else up against the wall. Additionally, she had no idea that Spark Plug had attempted to turn her into a hound, but Max was far less than subtle in his attempts to take on the leader of the Mutant Underground. "Tome, I am not your enemy," Veil stressed, her force fields still up to protect herself. "I need you to calm down."

Nightcrawler was clinging to the ceiling like a spider, shaking his tail as he attempted to warm it up again. The cold didn't really slow down his body, but it did make it harder for him to concentrate which interfered with his skill in teleportation. He instinctively knew that Spark Plug was a hound just like him as well, allowing him to turn his focus to the others in the room. If he didn't manage to kill them or at least knock them out, his master was going to be furious with him...

And he never liked seeing Mr. Sinister like that.

He teleported again, appearing in front of Leighton. "I am not zee covard!" he shouted in a heavy German accent, before his tail shot out and he wrapped it around Leighton's neck.

Veil could dimly see where Leighton was, thanks to the light of her poncho. She dropped the force field she had been using to keep Max at bay, sending one out that slammed into Nightcrawler and forced him to let go of his grip he had on Leighton. "Ice him, I've got you covered!" Veil shouted. Max had been going crazy and Leighton was in a prime position to strike. She had no idea what Spark Plug was trying to do, but she didn't have time to think about it and wonder.

When Glimpse said that the man who he had been talking to was a few hundred years older then he was, he gave her a bit of a confused look. "Uh, what are you talking about?" he asked her, it was clear that he had no idea what it was that she was going on about. "As for who he is... Well, it's a bit difficult to explain... His name is Nathaniel Essex and well... I've known him for a long time... It's a bit weird to explain..." Then he heard that the bar was closing due to something in the basement, and a few things went through his head, the first being that it was an odd coincidence that his father had left the building and not long after that the bartender closed the bar. The other thing being that it was a bit strange that the bar suddenly closed like that, without too much of an explanation.

He figured that the others were probably going to follow, and Jack made his way past people and over towards the basement door. Glancing around slightly, to make sure no one was really paying attention to him, and he headed downstairs, seeing Sunshine at the bottom of the steps, he let out a bit of a sigh. The kid really needed to learn a few things about how everything worked. Walking down the stairs without any problems, he helped her up off of the ground. "Hey there Rookie, try not to rush head first into things without someone else next time okay?" he said to her, before opening up the door into the basement area, "So, you guys are causing a bit of a ruckus and got the bar to close down due to some "water pipe" issue which is clearly not true. What the hell is going on down here?"

"Wow, so nice, just automatically assuming I can do everything. When you honestly seem like the type who'd be able to pick locks. Don't worry though, I've got this," she said, the skin on her hand turning pale white for a moment, as she tapped the doorknob and it instantly started to freeze over. After another few moments, she glanced back and forth along the hallway, before she grabbed the doorknob and twisted it with a small cracking sound, and the door swung open. "Open says me, alright, let's look around and find those meds."

Walking into the room, she saw locked cabinets that had the pills in them, all appearing to be in alphabetical order. She figured she'd start with the one that started with the letter B and that was likely the closest to them, the Buprenorphine. Going around and looking at the cabinets, after a little while, she found it, and once again tapped her finger to the lock to get it to break, and she pulled the bottle out. "Alright, score, got one of them... Everything is alphabetized, so go down a little farther, see if you can find the Methadone." she instructed the other two.
