"If you think about it. We're the ones who can truly bring things to life! So that they can see it without ever being there!"
"Isn't that what television is for?"
"That's not the point!"

“Hello? Hel- Is this on? Oh, it is. Great. It’s your Principal Slews here. Here to greet you all for another wonderful year at this paradise.

New arrivals are welcome to Aistri Academy. I hope you’ve all enjoyed the first day so far. Your new clubs have hopefully welcome you with open arms. Or for the soccer club. Open feet! Ha….hah.

Anyhow, it is now the time where I’ll have to announce something exciting. Due to several reasons, some including budget cuts. We have decided it is best to...number down on the amount of clubs in this academy. But of course, how could we possibly cut out any of the many wonderful clubs that inhabit this school without giving them a fair chance? Aside from the ‘Anti-Oppression’ Cub. Who unfortunately found themselves short of members this year.

To solve this, we have decided for a competition to be held. Each club shall fight- I mean compete! To prove their worth to the school! Future Details will come later, but victory comes to those best prepared! I believe Einstein said that.”

In other news. We are holding a competition to replace the previous school motto ‘A Place for Everyone’. For those who have entries, please report to office 27 in the Dreams Building.

Now how do I turn this off? This…no. THIIIIS, no. Th-“

The first day of the year was a day of introductions. Of settling in new peers, and the beginning of leadership for others. For the writing club newcomers, it was going to be an interesting day.

It seemed the world had decided that today was going to be a bad day with those allergies. The air was thick with dust and pollen. Clubs had resorted to opening windows, giving members medicine, and for those with bad knowledge in biology; Outside classes.

The Writing Club, situated in what was once the home of the poverty's club, and before that an ancient boiler room, was not a nice thing to look at. It's windows were sparse. Located high up on the walls. Indented so that during the evening the sun rays would be focused to cut right through the floating dust that stifled the room. The members unfortunate enough to be sitting in the room found themselves sniffiling often. Clearly nothing in this room had been aired or cleaned over the summer.

This wasn't the only discomfort. The chairs they sat on creaked omniously, threating to break underneath them. The desks had many markings from previous clubs and members. Signatures and messages to future readers. One member noticed that the words 'Down with the money pigs' was written on the frame of their's.

The desks were aligned in a rough U-shape formation. It was not clear if this was intentional or not. 'Shoddy' was defintely the word one would use to describe this room. Whoever was in charge had clearly not tried to make best with what little they had.

Speaking of whoever was in charge...

【Jing Giú】

[Writing Club Room]

A groan, coming from the hallway outside the classroom. Signalled the arrival of Jing. He ducked his head in. His eyes laced with irritation, scanned over the group of students sitting, chatting. relaxing in the club. They were all there. As they should be afterall. He was ten minutes late.
Dragging his hands down his face. He hauled himself towards the top of the classroom. Mumbling things about start dates and such as he made his way.

Taking a marker from his desk. Jing put the tip of it on the whiteboard rather makeshiftly nailled to the wall. He wrote an nine, before sighing and turning his head to the person who had patiently been sitting there for the last half hour. Who, at this point. Was angrily correcting her glasses like a libraian who had just been asked what section Dan Brown books were in for the thirtieth time.

"What is the time, Seira?"
"Nine Thirteen. You do realise you ar-"
"Thanks, Seira."

He went back to writing on the whiteboard.
Turning around, He closed the cap back on the marker.

"There was an mistake with the start times. The Offical start time is Nine Fourteen. Oh look, we're coming right up to it." Jing produced a bell from the desk. He tapped it gently.

DingDing~~

"Class is started. Good to see we're all on time." Yawning, The Head produced another thing from the desk cupboards. The other students were beginning to wonder the depths of it. This Item, was very clearly a book. For those with good eyesight, they could make out 'Being a Team Leader 101' as the title. Flicking through the pages, Jing nodded to himself.

"You may have heard about the fact that the School Motto is up for....Renaming? Rephrasing? Whatever. Anyway, I thought it would be good to start us off by working on that. Start you off easy."
"We're also obligated as the Writing Club t-"
"This will also serve as introductions to other members. Two birds one...task. And it's less work for me."

Once again, Jing nodded to himself slowly. Scratching his cheek with little thought.
"Um...Seira..."

The four-eyed girl stood up with militaristic discipline.

"Right, So everyone present please group together around me! We're all going to introduce ourselves and give our own thoughts on what we should put forward as a club. Be as free with your ideas as you wish!"

TASK GIVEN!!!

TITLE: RAPID SLOGAN

"Name her, I hardly know her!"

Given By: Writing Club Head Jing
Award: ???

Description: It might be your first day in this club and possibly your first day in this academy but by god are you going to get a school sogan done by the end of this meeting. As we all know, all great works begin with a slogan for an school.

Awkward glances were shared among the new students. This had the familar aura of things their teacher told them when they were six. Admittaly, with less promises of sweets. Nevertheless, they found themselves awkward shuffling their rusty seats together.

At the head was Seira, sitting there with her arms crossed. An hopeful smile plastered on her face. Sitting next to her, Jing was already resting his head against the table. Whispering Grievances about life.

With this set out, The Students set off their first Club Day by...

Yvonne Shen
Writing Clubroom

"Word up?"

The suggestion came from a short girl seated at the end of the table. She quietly pushed herself up onto her feet, red eyes glancing about the room at her new club-mates as if to gauge for their reactions. Her demeanor seemed relatively relaxed, but from the thin line she had drawn her mouth into and the slight hesitance in her high-pitched tone, it was clear that she was a little awkward with the suddenness and general ... slapdash nature of the proceedings.

But, she barrelled on anyway.

She'd already taken the first step, so she didn't really have any other choice.

"Oh, I'm, um, Yvonne Shen, eighteen years old, amateur writer and formerly of the baseball club." She ran a hand through her messy emerald curls, giving everyone an uneasy, lopsided smile. "Just thought I'd start ... us all off. How do you do?"

Naoko Kobayashi
Aistri Academy - Writing Club Room

Severely disappointed was the phrase that kept on popping on Naoko's head, as she silently sat on this dust-ridden, possibly once abandoned clubroom which also acted as some short of a boiler room? She thought that she was in the wrong location, if was not for Seira who was constantly reassured that she was right. The lack of proper windows, only windowed embrasures that are close to the ceiling is a clear sign that this room is not meant for any gathering of sorts. The pink haired undergraduate was able to endure the subpar ventilation, but the amount of dust in the room are just plain unbearable. She was constantly waving her hands in front of her in futility, while trying not to cough or sneeze. Even so, a few coughs or sneezes can be heard from her way.

Naoko silently listened to Jing and Seira with her hands crossed, visibly unamused of their antics. Her eyes glanced at the other club members, presumably checking on their expressions. She sat 3 chairs away from Jing, left side of the U-shaped desk arrangement. A distasteful graffiti with the phrase "Capitalism Hoe!" was visibly written on top of Naoko's desk.

When it was decided that everyone should make a slogan for the club, there was only silence in the air. For Naoko's case, she tried to help, as she frowned her eyes and adopted a thinking pose. Unfortunately, nothing came to her mind, possibly due to the unfavorable environment, and the fact she was not trained for slogan making.

... Until the only green haired girl who sat at the end of the tables stood up, and gave her suggestions, before introducing herself as Yvonne Shen with an uncomfortable smile.

Word Up.

It felt like Yvonne has huge potential, or at least it seems so. Naoko was stifling her giggles, but she eventually failed. The 'Word Up' slogan reminded her of a backwater human rebel hero in a futuristic real time strategy game that she used to play before.

"Ahahaha---"

Her laugh was soon changed into a series of coughs, before it ended with a loud sneeze. Naoko managed to use some tissue papers to cover her nose and mouth, fortunately. After she was done cleaning herself...

"... D-don't get me wrong, Shen-san," Naoko continued on with a nasal voice. "T-that was brilliant! Y-you did well in kicking this off!"

She then changed into a deeper voice, as if she was mimicking a particular video game character.

"Time to 'word up'. Hahahaha~"

Naoko tapped her table as she laughed again, unwittingly causing more dust into the air. She eventually felt that the others were staring at her awkwardly, as if they were waiting for... something.

"... O-oh, right. I need to introduce myself."

Once she was done laughing, Naoko slowly stood up from her seat, before facing everyone with a composed expression.

"I'm Naoko Kobayashi." She did a short bow to everyone. "I used to be part of the Student Council back at senior high school. I--uh, I hope we can get along together. And uhh, no. I don't have any suggestions for the club slogan. For now, I guess..."

She did a forced smile, before slowly sitting down on her chair. Naoko does not want to break it.

Micha listened to the roughshod opening to his new daily life and restrained himself from using his foot to lean back the chair; he had tried that when he first arrived this morning and the legs had given a frankly terrifying creak and wobble. He watched a bit dispationetly, foot up on the chair and arms crossed at their wrists on his knee. A glance at his desk in front of him had him suitably distracted with trying to figure out what the hell 'The Capitalizards want your granny's paycheck' meant.

He was so focused he almost missed as the first person stood, giving her idea and introducing herself as Yvonne, soon followed by Naoko; the pink haired girl to his right from where he was sat in the fourth seat down from the front. She was an odd sort of bubbly-nervous that he wasn't sure he was fond of. She seemed enthusiastic of Yvonne's idea, though didn't give one of her own. When the girl settled herself back down he raised his hand up off his arm a bit.

"I'm Micha, I'm not really in the market to give a shit about parading our usefulness to the people here, I'd rather be sent home anyways." he introduced instead of throwing in his own idea. Then the thought crossed his mind and he looked up to the chick that seems to have everything together. "We do get kicked out if we fuck up this competition thing, yeah?"

As he asked the last part, his stupid brain decided to forget about the ominous creaks and he used his planted foot to push the chair back just a bit and-

SNAP

THUD

His shoulder met the floor as the chair gave out beneath him, falling to peices and throwing him off. He pushed up from the floor and gave an aggrieved sigh, thinking of Boaz and the fact that he doesn't even know if he can contact him from this hellscape.

"Please tell me we can fuckin' go home." He grumbled quietly as he returned to his spot and sat down on the floor after clearing the pieces out of the way. This effectively cut his vision off from everyone, and theirs to him as the desk was suddenly the same height as his face.

'This is fine.'

Location - Writing Club Room

When Kevin first arrived in the - this was supposed to be a classroom, right? - he assumed he'd gotten the wrong one. There didn't look to be any other students his age there. Everyone was upper classmen. Or, worse, what are the odds he was the only freshman to register for this club? None of the other ones held any interest for him - and were full anyways - so here he was, walking in as the youngest in the group and found himself a seat as far to the back of the tiny, dusty room he could find. It also meant dealing with the dust still floating in the air from everyone else arriving. Given he had no plans to actually open his mouth unless absolutely necessary, he didn't really worry too much about the nasal clogging particles too much.

In the time since the club meeting was supposed to start, until the club leader finally arrived, he'd taken out a notebook and just made little notes in tiny, neat writing. Much smaller than some of the pages previously had if any chose to look. It wasn't really anything much - the way someone else in the group sat or moved, or a thought that popped into his head about the worrisome flicker in the lighting, and a few other random thoughts to pop into his head that might be interesting to use in some story at some point later. That was something the young writer liked to do, just jot down notes of whatever popped into his head when he was actively trying to think of something to write or do, and see what might fit where later. There'd been a few stories he'd written those kind of phrases or traits came into play and given how strange some of the others seemed (and only a little to do with the fact they were all older and likely would say or do things he hadn't thought of yet) it seemed a great place to draw inspiration from.

Things kicked underway quite well after the last person arrived and announced they were all early instead of him being late. Great, another one of those kinda club heads. Like he hadn't dealt with that kind of thing enough throughout all the years of other clubs he was part of. Oh well, you take the good with the bad. And the good was it was more notes he could make on people in the room, including the way the club head Jing immediately shut himself out of the proceedings and the way the pink haired Naoko reacted to the dust, or...

Kevin cringed when Micha fell to the ground after neglecting to remember how shoddy the equipment was in this room. "Are you okay?" As soon as the words left his mouth, the black haired teen blinked in realizing he'd just betrayed his idea of sitting quietly and going mostly forgotten. His cinnamon chocolate gaze snapped from the older boy now sitting discontentedly on the floor to the rest of the room.

"And, um, hi - to everyone - I suppose." He anxiously fiddled with the pen in his hand, now feeling distinctly like he imagined deer felt staring down headlights. "I'm Kevin, Kevin Marshall. This is my first - well, second, I suppose - day here at the academy so yeah. But, and no offense, uh - Naoko - or, um - Yvonne, but the task was the school slogan...not for the, uh, well, not the club. Something that is more representative of the school and what it wants to portray instead of boasting the club itself. That's what other clubs will likely do, probably."

The more he spoke, the more that pen twisted and turned between his hands, until he'd finally - quite accidentally - worried the front off enough the spring launched the pressured contents across the room. The boy blinked again before frowning. "Shit." And his cheeks immediately flushed. "Sorry."

After the quick apology he cleared his throat and continued with his rambling attempts to help. "Right, so, like, maybe, The first step to realizing dreams...?" He shrugged and immediately turned his gaze to his notebook. "Or something. We're trying to make a camel here anyways, so - ya know - 'Word up' was a good suggestion, too."

Hyun-woo Lee
Located: Writing Clubroom

To say that the Writing club room appeared rather...unacquainted with Lysol wipes and a trusty mop was an understatement, much to Hyun-woo's horror. There seemed to be dust everywhere, the frightful gray puffs of dead skin cells, lint, and tiny dust mites showing up wherever Hyun-woo looked. Resignedly pulling out one of the several tissue packets he stored in his bag, the silver-haired boy tried his best to sweep away the thin layer of dust on the desk and chair he'd claimed upon entering the classroom. Without his usual arsenal of cleaning supplies, a measly dry tissue did little against the stubborn accumulation of dirt, succeeding only in stirring even more dust into the polluted air and making him tear up. Perching himself at the edge of his chair, he settled for taking out an embroidered handkerchief—because of course he carried around both a handkerchief and packets of tissues—and discreetly dabbing at his eyes. Hyun-woo tried his best not to fidget, partially in a futile attempt in avoiding getting more dirt on his clothes and partially out of concern for the unsteady nature of some (all) of the furniture in the room.

The audacity of who he assumed was the head of the club when he changed the time of the meeting left Hyun-woo shaking with the efforts of holding back a laugh, feeling sympathetic towards the other member at the front yet also finding the entire situation strangely comedic. The latter emotion was most likely due to some sort of desperation as Hyun-woo tried not to miss the organization of his previous club, their club room, and heck, just the fact that they weren't stuck in a tiny room with who knew what kind of creepy crawlies that were surely hiding in shady corners. Determined not to regret his decision to join this club, he took solace in the presence of Seira, who seemed much more capable than her peer, explaining their task.

At a glance, Hyun-woo appeared to be paying close attention to the club members' introductions, nodding thoughtfully at the green-haired girl's suggestion and repeating the slogan in his head along with her name. The distraction from the dust, coupled with his accursed inability to remember names outside of a script, meant he had to put extra effort in trying not to forget the club members' names. The words, "green hair...word up...baseball..." circled in his head like a silent mantra as she concluded her introduction. Unfortunately, her name flew out of his mind as soon as someone burst into giggles, startling him out of his thoughts. This time, a girl sitting on the other side of the u-shape spoke up, offering her name—Noako? Naoko!—and background after an impromptu voice acting session, before sitting back down.

As the boy to her left started speaking, Hyun-woo absented-mindedly wondered whether he could somehow steal the theater club's chairs and give them these rusty old chairs instead. His half-baked plan of casually strolling into the club room and hoping they wouldn't notice a chair being replaced every couple of days, solidified when Micha—he'd make sure to remember the guy's name because jeez did he seem scary—disappeared from sight, along with his chair which wasn't really a chair anymore. Hyun-woo watched him move the remains of the chair in stunned silence, completely forgetting to question whether he was hurt in favor of thinking, "He's just going to sit on the floor?!" Another student, who couldn't have been older than a sophomore at most, asked if Micha was alright before introducing himself and explaining that the task for a slogan was meant for the school rather than the club.

...Speaking of the task, Hyun-woo was at square one as far thinking of a slogan was concerned, inexplicably caught up on trying to make one out of the school name itself instead of any favorable qualities that, as Kevin put it, were supposed to represent the academy's image.

"Aistri....Academy...Ai...stri...ai...eye...aha?!"

Just as what was likely a terrible idea popped into his mind, Hyun-woo saw a blur in the corner of his eye and glanced back at the boy speaking, his gaze curiously drawn to the sight of the tip of the pen disconnected from its body.

"Oh!"

Hyun-woo suddenly exclaimed, snapping his finger and pointing towards the boy who'd just spoken with wide eyes, "That's a really good idea!" Then, belatedly remembering his manners, he hastily lowered his hand. "Ah, wait, I didn't mean to point, that was rude of me." He paused for a moment before sheepishly adding, "And well, bursting out like that!"

He cleared his throat and stood up. "Anyways! Guess I'll be introducing myself next! Hey, hey, I'm Hyun-woo Lee! I was going to suggest something like 'Talent as far as Ai-can-stri' or just, you know, 'eye can see', but wow, Kevin's slogan is, like, inspirational and—" Hesitating, Hyun-woo glanced questioningly at the green-haired girl, "Yvonne's—did I get that right?— slogan sounded super duper cool as well!" He made to sit down, but seemed to remember something.

Turning his attention back to Kevin, Hyun-woo offered, "Also, if you need another pen, I can lend you one!" Satisfied, Hyun-woo cheerfully gave the boy a thumbs up before taking a seat.

Word up? Talent as far as eye can see?

Puns.

Their slogan suggestions were puns and equally uninspired as this assignment itself. Annette Fournier understood that this was a formality, but their Club Head looked to be far from interested in it. Come to think of. . It seemed that nobody really wanted to be here. Most of the folks here looked to be bored and/or tired. Annie wasn't much different, however, if the shaky hand and poorly sketched dog (or was it a cat?) in her notebook was anything to go by. Her tremors were unfortunately thanks to the overpowering coffee that she had brewed as soon as the sun rose. Annie was exhausted having had fallen asleep sometime around three in the morning on the night prior. Her sleeping schedule had been horrible over the summer and it wasn't like she took to changing it a week beforehand like she should've.

Hopefully that would change sometime soon. . . But back to the more important matters at hand.

It was their first day united as a club and it had already been reduced to bad puns and someone breaking a chair. That wasn't unexpected considering how poorly their "room" was put together, but it was definitely a cause for alarm. Would they really be confined to this dusty nightmare for the rest of their school year? It was true that Annie flourished in the darkness and this was the perfect setting for a murder scene, but the stories that she wrote were fictional for a reason. And fiction was what she wanted them to remain. Even still, she could only take a sip of her coffee and wonder what kind of dark mysteries could unravel in a setting like this.

A hand flew into the air and a metallic mug was slowly lowered onto a dusty desk.

"My name is Annette Fournier, but that's a mouthful and I hate French as much as the next person, so just 'Annie' works. It's nice to meet you all. I have no suggestions for the slogan and I'm. ." It wouldn't be wise to insult her club members on the first day, now would it? Kevin, Yvonne, and Hyun-woo (or did he prefer Lee?) seemed friendly enough. It wasn't like Annie had any alternatives to suggest anyway. She certainly lacked the effort to care too. "Neutral about what we have so far. I think I'm leaning towards the one related to dreams though."

It's better than bad puns anyway.

Sasha Kardashev

Well, well, well, look at we have here. Utter disrepair, a sea of dust, furniture that looked like it will break down the moment someone sat on them, and a computer that seemed to be suffering its final death throes. The members of the club were all arranged in a U shaed formation, with the chairs creaking with every little movement that they did. This was a terrible contrast to the great stories his other had told him about her time in this university; she said that the Writing Club had one of the best bases in the entire academy. But now, it seemed that they switched places with none other than the poverty club.

The bloody poverty club! Oh hell no!

Sasha right now was using a cane to balance himself, as he had a bad football injury a few years back; it was enough to warrant the doctors to prohibit any more playing for the foreseeable future. He had his laptop in his bag, which is what he used to write his ieces (to be more specific, he always used Google Docs so that his progress isn't lost if the computer decided to crash.). Furthermore, he ws sipping on a cup of coffee that had whipped cream on top. Probably Starbucks.

Right now, though, there was the mandatory introduction. And now he decided it was his turn.

When the words left his mouth, there would be the marked accent of a Muscovite Russian, though it ws nowhere as hard or boorish as the stereotypes often say. "My name is Alexander Kardashev, though you can just call me Sasha, or Alex. I have a slogan to suggest, but I fear it could be lost in translation. Anyway... ehem. Knowledge is power. Guard it well. Does that suffice? Maybe, I think. Anyway. Good to meet you all."

Sҽιɾá Mαԃα

[Writing Club Room]

"Word up?" The Green haired Yvonne spoke up first. Attracting the gaze of everyone else. Aside from Jing, who remained cleanly face planted into his desk. "Ah." Seira nodded happily and, having already taken out a notebook from somewhere in the mass that was her slightly too big wooly jumper. Began to write down the suggestions. If one was to ever peer at Seira's handwriting, it was a disjointed mix between vague old timey writing and militaristic efficiency. Sharp jagged lines met with free flowing curves. It made it a little hard to read to any supposed ghost that was trying to peak on works.

A laugh erupted as Seirá finished writing. Followed by half a lung being coughed up. Seira grimanced slightly, if she could do something to make the air a little better she would try. She gripped her pencil, hoping that this wasn't a laugh targeted at a specific member expense. Seira had hoped they get past twenty minutes before interpersonal problems began to arise. Naoko Kobayashi, She was the one with the weird application, right? "I used to be part of the Student Council back at senior high school. I--uh, I hope we can get along together. And uhh, no. I don't have any suggestions for the club slogan. For now, I guess..."

Seira blinked. "T-That's okay! Answers and creativity comes to us at our own time!"
"Potentially after we've already decided, for one." Added Jing.
She ignored him.

"I'm Micha, I'm not really in the market to give a shit about parading our usefulness to the people here, I'd rather be sent home anyways." The one with a brass look spoke up next. Seira cringed somewhat at the crass language. She had expected some level of enthusiasm from the new members. But this one seemed to already actively hate everything here. A little rude, in her mind. "We do get kicked out if we fuck up this competition thing, yeah?"

Seira tilted her head somewhat. "Urm...wel-OH!!!" Whatever answer she had was taken away by the chair underneath Micha snapping. She was going to ask if he was okay. But it seemed everyone including Micha himself was okay with just continuing on with him sitting on the floor. Well she supposed that was alright. If not the slight headache that appeared when she thought about their already thinning equipment being culled even more. She took a little note in her pad. More things to figure out hopefully.

"-No offense, uh - Naoko - or, um - Yvonne, but the task was the school slogan...not for the, uh, well, not the club. Something that is more representative of the school and what it wants to portray instead of boasting the club itself. That's what other clubs will likely do, probably-" Seira smiled slightly at Kevin's words. She scribbled in her notepad, 'Kevin - intuitive'

"Very True!-" And then a pen head skidded right past her cheek. She added to the notepad 'Keep away from goood pens.'

"Anyways! Guess I'll be introducing myself next! Hey, hey, I'm Hyun-woo Lee! I was going to suggest something like 'Talent as far as Ai-can-stri' or just, you know, 'eye can see'" Hyun-Woo seemed...ethuastic. Which was all she could ask for. (It really was). Plus he already seemed to be giving some type of comradery to his peers. Just for a second she glanced to Micha, still sitting on the floor.

"Ah, A word play on the academy. Clever!" Said with the belief that it was clever. She had never really had the brain for word plays.
"Too much like something slews would think."

"My name is Annette Fournier, but that's a mouthful and I hate French as much as the next person, so just 'Annie' works. It's nice to meet you all. I have no suggestions for the slogan" This one had shaky hands and though Seira wished not to be rude did look a little...unhinged. Logically perhaps it was an ill adjustment to the rigors of going back to education. Seira hoped so. That hot coffee could be dangerous. In fact, the one next to her also had a drink. She wished that she could have convinced Jing to ban food and drink aside from alloted time but Jing lack of schedule meant that his own meals were seeming at complete random. Not adhering to any pattern or likely moments of hunger.

"I have a slogan to suggest, but I fear it could be lost in translation. Anyway... ehem. Knowledge is power. Guard it well. Does that suffice? Maybe, I think. Anyway. Good to meet you all."

"Mmm, Bacon." Ah, Jing was in his thinking about breakfast daydream.
"A-another good suggestion!" She hesitated to mention the potential problems about what she thought was a old quote. It was probably fine. But the legal club did like to cause a fuss about everything they could...Something they definitely wouldn't be able to stop with their resources....

Seira snapped out of worries. "Good early work so far everyone! You both have a good idea on the slogan. It should be about the school as a whole but definitely have a personal taste of our own club's spirit. Afterall, Our slogan making it could be really good for our club's-" Seira paused. "general reputation." She smiled softly. But everyone sitting in that broken down clubroom knew what she had really meant.

Good for our club's survival.

Afterall they had heard the announcement. Looking around, surely if they were to start cutting clubs...

They'd start here?

"The idea of dreams seems popular. So let's work with that!" She clapped her hands. "I know some of you have come from other clubs. So have more experience with this academy then others. Perhaps they can use their resilence of staying as inspiration. And for those just joining us, perhaps use your reasoning for coming here to inspire us all to an answer."

This was going to be an inspirational ass slogan.

Naoko Kobayashi
Aistri Academy - Writing Club Room

After her introduction, Naoko remained quiet, while observing the other club members. She was quite surprised when Micha broke the chair that he was sitting. The pink haired girl was planning to help him up, but his overall demeanor somewhat scared her away, not to mention he was seemingly content by sitting on the ground. She did took a few glances at him from time to time, checking on his condition. Then things took for an embarrassing turn when the attentive Kevin pointed out that the slogan is for Aistri Academy, instead for the Writing Club.

"Oh dang," It prompted Naoko to do a facepalm, while facing at Kevin. "I thought it was meant for the Writing Club! Thanks for clarifying!"

Though Naoko ended up being surprised again as the pen on Kevin's hand was sent flying into pieces. She winced instinctively in response, before blinking several times at him when the clumsy boy apologized to everyone. Fortunately, none of the parts went towards her. Naoko continued on to listen, namely the bubbly Hyun-Woo giving another of his own twist of the Aistri Academy slogan. It made her giggle though, as she wondered how folks like Hyun-Woo and Yvonne are good in wordplay. Or maybe she is not that creative after all. The atmosphere soon changed again with Annette's introduction, who Naoko deemed as the serious type. As for the smooth speaking Alexander, she nodded at him, although Naoko had difficulties in remembering his last name. Karda-something, was it?

Seira eventually continued on with the slogan making for the Academy, settling on the idea of dreams as suggested by Kevin. She even asked the club members to utilize their reasons for enrolling to Aistri Academy to help on building the perfect slogan. As usual, Naoko adopted her thinking pose. She has some ideas, but seeing that there are possibly some 'professionals' in her club members, she was kind of hesitant in speaking out her thoughts.

As time goes by, however, Naoko eventually raised her hand.

"Um well, Mada-san was it?" She hesitated at first, while looking at Seira. "... About the reason why I was here is that uhhh... Aistri Academy was the only institute that is willing to accept me. So I figured that I should give a shot here, instead of retaking the college entrance exam, hehe. If I have to be brutally honest however, I won't be here if I have a choice!"

Naoko pouted at the end. Then, she directed a question to Seira with an inquisitive look. "Hmmm, maybe Mada-san should tell us about the history of Aistri Academy...? That may help on brainstorming the slogan, especially when it is used for advertising..."

Haruka Tatsumi
Aistri Academy - Writing Club Room

Haruka was running late for her first club meeting. Running through the halls while occasionally glancing at her tablet. She tapped and swiped her finger on the tablet to get it ready to show her draft of her writing. She's not entirely aware of what the club would be doing, but she thought that perhaps showing a draft would be a start.

Arriving on the doors to the club room. She took a deep breath and pushes the door with an enthusiastic strength.

THUD!!!

The door slammed open, Haruka stood by the opened door, holding a tab. The smile on her face quickly turned to a frown upon watching how the state of the club room looked. "A--- I must've been at the wrong club room." She quickly said to no one in particular while looking around awkwardly before turning herself around. Checking on her tab to see the direction to the writing club room. Which was exactly here. "Eh? Really?" She looked in quite disbelief before turning herself around to see the room again. "Don't tell me this is actually the Writing Club." She dreaded while walking in. Not minding the others already in the room.

Haruka would then put her tab onto a table. Her hands reaches to her scrunchie that ties her ponytail together. Removing the scrunchie to let her hair down free. "And I got rejected from those idiots for this junk looking club." She lamented, glancing at the girl who looked exactly like a librarian... Sort of. "Uh, you're the head of the club? You do fit the look, the glasses, the boring bobcut... And the turtleneck on top of that." She asked towards Seira. She should start somewhere right? Perhaps talking to who looked like the head of the club should do.

"Why does this club feels so depressing to look at? I mean, look at how dilapidated this room is... Maybe I should just join those dorks in the Wrestling club after all, oh wait, they don't look for girls unfortunately." Haruka continued to comment on how bad the state of the club room is. "Oh right, sorry I'm late I guess?" She concluded, clearly losing her interest with the club as the time goes on.

"Oh" Seira responded. Awkwardly nodding to Naoko's statement. What was she supposed to say to that!? 'I'm here because of your low standards.' Goodness gracious, she hoped no one else was going to say something like that.

"Hmmm, maybe Mada-san should tell us about the history ..." Seira didn't really listen to much else. As the girl developed a glint in her eyes behind her glasses.
"Well..." Seira chuckled somewhat.
Jing looked up, "Oh god dont tell me you asked her about histo-"

Totally Fascinating History: Part 1

The year was 18XX, The can opener still hadn't been invented and Nations were learning new way of being total dicks to eachother and their citizens. It was a cold and stormy night. When explorer and entrepeneur Oileán Nua would find herself rocked from her ship during a especially monsterous wave. She would be thrown in the the deep and dark ocean, likely to never be seen again.

Instead, she woke up on an exotic island. On her first night she would recieve a vision of building a great academy where student would help eachother achieve their true potential. This was Oileán's destiny. Was it a message from a god? Mild brain damage? Hallunciations from those weird mushrooms she ate for dinner? No one really knew. What was known was that she survived on that island for another two months. And when she was found, she invested her fortune into making her vision a reality.

Of course, there would be more difficulties in her path. For starte-

THUD!!!

The door slamming against the wall interrupted Seira's lesson as a girl holding a tablet announced her presence. Walking in with a smile turned grimace. She was quick to judge the room. And Seira as well, it seemed. Who raised a hand to her chest in response to Haruka's words. "I-I...My hair is not boring!" She practically cried as a flush went to her cheeks.

Oh right, sorry I'm late I guess?" The girl concluded. Seemingly already done with the club.

And then the front door fell off it's hinges and hit the floor.

"I wondered one of you would end up doing that."

Seira closed her eyes slowly. "Okay." She took a deep breath. Today is going fine. Totally fine. Just great. I love today. Nothing has broken. No one has insulted your great haircut. Everyone wants to join this club for the joy of writing. The room isn't falling apart...

"Let's use the suggestions put forward and do a club vote later in the day." Seira said while closing her journal. Yes, she has had quite enough of suggestions about things at the current moment.

TASK FINISHED!

TITLE: RAPID SLOGAN

Desc: Now left to a club vote in which deep ingrained apathy and nepotism will probably weed out the best.

AWARD: *Discord Channel: Club Tasks Unlocked. Check Discord for more Details.

"We did our first task. Yay." Seira had planned to be very ethuastic about their first finished task of the year. But recent events had led her to only muster a single golf clap.

"Now as it is the opening days of the year. Some of you may know it is custom to visit neighbouring clubs as a goodwill gesture. Exchange plesantries, meet old club mates, learn from the heads." She frowned a little bit at that. It was clear the idea of a different club asking Jing questions about anything disturbed her greatly. "And sometimes clubs can help eachother with..." She looked to the fallen door and then slowly, but with a certain and cold wraith to Haruka. "Issues."

Seira reached underneath the table to produce a blackboard. Somehow dustier and older then everything else in the classroom. "So we're all go on our personal tours. Take your pleasure to pick whichever ones you wish. And if you wish to do certain things while there that'd be great, but you don't have to."
"You do."
"But only if you want to!"
"Keep this club going that is."

Seira began to write on the board.

Meanwhile, Jing stood up. Haruka hadn't noticed beforehand. But he was holding her tablet in one hand, lazily reading the draft she had prepared for her supposed class introduction.

"Hmm, you definitely chose the more interesting of two paths." He handed it back to her with a knowing smile. "Haruka Tatsumi, I'm the club head, Jing. Best not to think about the predjuices of the Wrestling club. Afterall, the contract you signed means your here for the rest of the year."

Wait What-

"There!" Seira announced, flipping the board around with potential clubs. Along with little notes about certian things. From reading it, The students began to strike ideas of what they wanted to do...

Location: Writing Club Room

Micha took everything in with a rueful air, nodding to Kevin when the boy asked after him. He closed his eyes and listened to Seira start her history lesson after introductions had subsided, only to be startled alert by the door slamming open as another Writing Club recruit shot through, giving an analysis of the club as enthusiastic as his own had been before the door itself finally gave up its ghost and came down to the floor with a harsh rattle as it settled.

While he and Haruka had a similar distaste for the club, it seemed, their opinions diverged from there. He was not a fan of how she spoke to Seira and shittalked the place. He had made it clear that he didn't want to be in the school at all, Haruka was showing specific distaste for the club based off the way the room looked and he wasn't a fan of that at all. Him and Boaz had been extremely productive in some of the places they had found shelter in, and those were far shoddier than the sort of dusty Writing Club room. Call him biased, but it wasn't that bad.

The thoughts had been lazily drifting through his head as Seira turned attention back to her and he tuned back in when he heard her pull out the blackboard, and enjoyed listening to Jing's little additions as she steadfastly ignored them. The scratch of chalk continued for a few moments before stopping, and Micha took that as his time to stand up, giving a short stretch of his back before looking at what she had been writing.

Well, she wasn't wrong... it would kill two birds with one stone to reach out to the Woodworking Club for both relations and a first request already at hand. Something tells him none of the other clubs would be surprised by such a request on the first day if they knew where the Writing Club was situated.

"Okay..." Micha muttered. He spoke up to Seira for her to know and anyone else that was listening so they didn't mix ideas. "Hey I'll hit up the Woodworking club and see about maybe getting us a new door, or at least someone's reject that can hang straight on a door hinge," he paused for a second before rolling his eyes. "though I've been told I don't have the most welcoming personality so someone should come with." the people who told him that were abusive rich assholes, but he can't say they were all too wrong.

Haruka Tatsumi
Aistri Academy - Writing Club Room

Hearing the creaking on the door, Haruka turned around just in time to see it fall off from its hinges and fell down to the floor. ". . . Whoops?" Haruka turned around to Seira with an awkward smile, guilty of making the door broke down. Turning her attention fully to the door, she walked to the door and lifts it up with ease. Putting it aside and places the door leaning onto the wall right beside it.

"Great... First day in and already made a mess." Haruka muttered as she kept looking at the broken door. This is totally not what Haruka expected about the writing club, she expected the club to be a little more clean and proper than it actually is. "I should just join the tracks club after all..." Haruka continued her self lamentation before she was interrupted by the actual head of the club, who handed her tablet back to her. Probably already reading her draft which is just a script for a wrestling show... But the action parts are left blank, what's written are mostly just the banter part... And then dropped the bombshell that she is stuck in the writing club for the rest of the year.

". . . Eh?" Haruka looked straight at Jing right after he said that part, blinking twice and shaking her head as if she can't believe what he just said. "You mean I'm stuck here!?" She raised her voice as she placed her right hand on her chest. Before she could protest any further... Seira took her attention when she puts the blackboard on display. Looking at what activity the club members would have as they're supposed to take a tour to neighbouring clubs. One of those is the Woodworking Club. . .

"Okay fine! I'm guilty for breaking the door anyway." Haruka raised her hand right after Micha offered himself to go to the woodworking club. "Geez, since I'm stuck here might as well make this place look more pleasing to the eye." She continued, crossing her arms while looking away, reluctantly stating her intention for the club. Huffing softly before looking at the rest of the club.

"Since I'm late, guess I owe you lot an introduction." Haruka softened up, perhaps already resigning to the fact that her fate is with this club. "Name's Haruka, I should've been in any sports club here but they rejected me with all too many reasons that I won't say, very irritating but what can I do. Anyway, huge wrestling fan here, would love to write for their shows in the future so I guess I join this club to sharpen up my writing skills. Which is probably my second mistake here..." Haruka said blandly as her eyes rolled away. Still feeling pretty irritated to be stuck with the Writing Club for this year.

Naoko Kobayashi
Aistri Academy - Writing Club Room

Naoko merely listened to Seira's explanation on the founding of Aistri Academy. It was typical tale of discovery and development, but conveyed in a rather dramatic way. An explorer and entrepreneur got thrown from her ship, and washed to the island where Aistri Academy was built on. The pink haired student listened on intently, until a loud bang can be heard from the dilapidated wooden door. Like some of the others, Naoko looked at the spunky golden-brown haired girl annoyingly as she disturbed the atmosphere just now. She merely observed the debacle that was unfolded in front of her, including how unceremoniously the door fell down from its hinges.

Once the introduction of Haruka was done, Naoko as usual listened to what Seira has to offer. She was quite glad when they got proposed to meet other clubs, though that mostly attributes to Naoko wanting to get away from the dust haven that was known as the club room. Naoko started pondering between the 3 tasks, namely fixing the door with the help from Woodworking Club, getting some... flowers from the Gardening Club, and getting a new chair... from the Theatre Club? Why not getting a new chair from the Woodworking Club instead?

It baffled Naoko, as Micha and Haruka decided to go to the Woodworking Club to get the door fixed. She eventually spoke up to Seira, and perhaps Jing.

"I think I can try going to the Gardening Club for a pot of flower or two, but..." She said with a dubious tone, while rubbing her chin as she faced both Seira and Jing.

"Can they even get enough sunlight? -cough- I mean, we don't even have windows here, just -cough- embrasures close to the ceiling!"

Naoko pointed to the top, where the embrasures were located.

"Also, maybe we should loan or get a table fan or something, if we want to -cough- have some ventilation? Or at least clean the place? At least that would somewhat help with the dust issue more than potted plants, isn't it? -cough-"

She shrugged at the end, with a rather confused look.

Location - Writing Club Room

As soon as the spotlight had moved off him, Kevin pulled his shoulder bag into his lap - that desk was barely stable enough to support his notebook and arm, there was no way it would support his whole bag - and dug out a new pen. His gaze lifted as soon as another person offered to lend him a pen, but held up a new writing utensil of his own. "I'm good. Thanks."

He made sure that when he lowered his bag back down, he didn't just drop it least they have to deal with even more dust in the air. This place was going to suffocate one of them by the end of the week if they weren't able to do something about it. How could the school operate like this? Not even cleaning all of the club rooms before the year started? What his parents spent to send him here was outrageous for them to be in a room like this. At least it didn't seem like anyone was actually allergic to the dust mites likely living in every unswept corner of the room. That would just seal the deal for them needing to buddy up to other clubs.

Then an overenthusiastic and tardy student burst through the door - like they needed any more damaged property here - and proceeded to trash the club in general. Kevin's gaze locked completely on his notebook, making a few tiny notes about the way she phrased things or an image that came to mind the way the door fell off its hinges and how the room looked lit up with the better lighting from the hall.

And just as quickly dread filled him as it was announced the academy customarily had everyone go around and meet and greet with the other clubs. Maybe it had been too much to hope for, that he wouldn't have to go socialize with more than the group of people in the dusty, tiny room. It had obviously been too much to hope for that the club he would be with all year wasn't going to be stuck in a claustrophobia inducing small room he was growing increasingly certain the school may have forgotten even existed aside from storage location. Then there was the surprise - apparently, did no one read the paperwork they signed? - about the club choice being locked in for the year. The phrasing of being clubs was weird but then so much of this place was weird he was willing to just keep his mouth shut as usual.

Though the fact they had new tasks and would just think on the slogan more later after these new tasks were done was fine with him. Slogan writing wasn't anything he was good at. Everything submitted would be a camel anyways. It was just a camel race - to see who had the best one and could get the principal to like it first. Tasks would do the club good anyways. After all, going to get replacement equipment or things to maybe help cheer this place up would do the atmosphere good. Which in turn might make everyone else a bit happier to be here. Was he the only one that actually wanted to be here? It was starting to sound like it a little.

Kevin shook his head to pull himself from his thoughts, then blinked realizing he was actually shaking his head and that was probably weird, right? His gaze lifted to the room at large again before looking between Seira and Naoko. "If you don't mind, I'll go along with you to the gardening club." Gardeners couldn't be terrible to talk to, right? "That way at least one of us can hopefully remember to get tips on how to take care of a plant in a room like this." He stood, casually draping his messenger back over his body to drape across his chest and shoved his notebook and pen back into it.

[Writing Club Room]

"You Mean I'm stuck Here!?" Jing shrugged his shoulders at Haruka's outburst. "That's what I said isn't it."

Micha was the first to offer his hand at helping. Seira grinned at him. "Yes, good! And don't worry, we're get other people as well. Leaving just one person into a different club can be rather...overwhelming."

Seira raised an confused eyebrow at Haruka remarks. "What do you mean write for wrestling? Like articles after the matches? What else would you even write for their show."

Naoko took Seira's mind off Haruka's claim when she coughed her way to asking about how they would keep the plants alive. Or maybe Human air quality being above getting some succulents. "Well." Seira tapped her chin. "Get some plants that can sit in the shade then"

Woodworking Club

Those going to the woodworking club had followed Seira down some hallways. They got to clear their lungs a little bit from the possible long lasting damage the dust had done to their respiratory system. As well as admire how goddamn big this academy seemed to big. Really, they had been walking for a few minutes. This place never ended.

And it was busy. Every door they passed they could hear different voices and noises. Laughter and screaming and tools and everything. Only for it to be washed away by something else as they passed another door. Some students passed by them in the hallway, busy with their own club activities. Random words and phrases being heard as they passed by. It did feel truly like this academy was alive with a million different type of clubs.

Seira finally stopped at a large heavy set wooden door. It was at least five times the size of a normal door and had many intricate carvings into it. Haruka nodded to herself, she would not break this door by accident. "We're here." Seira said, taking a deep long breath to prepare herself apparently. Before pushing open the door with a grunt of exertion.

The woodworking room smelled of ancestery. Sitting in there with your eyes closed you got the feeling of sitting next to your great-grand parent in a rocking chair with him talking about his great-grand parents. Being there for a while gave people grand ideas of settling down in the country side and tending to the land while working on some fine ornaments.

All furniture there was, unsuprisingly, hand crafted. Sturdy wooden tables with stools and chairs. The floor despite being cleaned for the new year, still had vestiges of sawdust scattered across. Goggles and tools lined the walls. What spaces weren't taken up by those were littered by motivational posters and quasi-religious momentos.

Seira Mada knew this already. Afterall, Her brother was the head of the club. And before she had joined the writing club, had brought her here to convince her to join. And despite not being fully attentive had at least managed to learn all the tid bits of the room.

The small problem as the writing club exploration group (tm) walked their way into the woodworking clubroom was that...well. No one was here. "Err.." Seira scratched her cheek. Where were they? It was nearly ten already. This was embrassing. She might have to already go back to the mess of a clubroom with nothing to help.

It was then to save her more embarrassment that basically the entire population of the woodworking club lumbered (eh) into the room. They all looked quite...calm. Relaxed, chilled out, such and such. They were also all wearing plaid shirts for some reason.

"Grrrreat meditation session~ We must accept natures love into our hearts before we begin this new year~" Dasaki Mada spoke, leading the group. His sing song voice happy. Turning to see Seira, Dasaki's grin widened. "Ah, my lovely sister~~" His eyes moved across the others. "Are these your new....associates of your club?"

He eyed Micha and Haruka specifically. Frowning slightly. "Their vibe is totally wack, yo."

[TRANSITION]

With Seira leading a few members outside of the classroom. Jing laid out his hands on the table and rose. "Right, those going to the gardening club. I'll bring you to the club if you wish to go then." And with a sudden vigor, he ushered them out of the classroom.

"And.." His hand went to close a door that no long existed in that space. So he merely swatted at the air for a few moments, "Whatever those not coming decide to do, Try not to talk to any weird strangers."

They made it to the gardening club relatively quickly, even if it involved going up an apparently four thousand stairs.

"You know." Jing said, his face turned away from them. "About your future in the club. The thing is- Oh we're here."

Indeed they were. As they looked at a door far wider then the writing club. Something told them it was adapted to fit in large packages of soil and such. It was ordained in some type of ivy. Giving it the feeling of entering a castle in a fairy tale. Nevertheless, Jing pushed open the door. What greeted them first was...

The Sun.

Yes, ray of lights shone directly from above. They looked up. The entire ceiling was glass, allowing the maximum amount of light in. Compared to the dusty shadows of the writing club; This room was incomparably bright. It was big too. Very big, they couldn't exactly tell due to all the vegetation. But they couldn't see the other end of the glass roof at least.

Perhaps unsurprising, they stood on a stone path that cut through an immensive garden. Different sections had students tending to flowers or bushes or vegetables. The air smelled alive and fragrant yet wet. There seemed to be a lot of people here, a group of students walked by them transporting compost bags.

The different colours of flowers and plants was a little memerising. The group doubted they even knew the names of a quater of the plants they could see. There was something a little off thou-

"There he is." Jing announced, pointing off in the distance. As they looked over to the end of the finger line to see a specific Student tending to a patch of Petunia. His knees digging into the soil with a pleasent smile as he transported bulbs into the rich soil. Both of them knew this was Toru. The head of the club.

"Right, go on then." Jing said, leaning against a wall. Sniffling a little bit. The group of them gave him a quizzing look. "Hey, I have serious hay fever sometimes. It might be dangerous for me to go deeper into that flower maze. I'm sure you two will represent the club juuust fine."

It seemed Jing then, was not going to help them talk to Toru. Alas, it was up to them.

Given that infomation. They decided too....

BACK AT THE WRITING CLUB

Those staying at the clubroom for the moment. Through indecisiveness of where to go or wishing to further inspect the situation of the room. Whatever reason, the few left soon found themselves not alone. The young man didn't introduce himself, or pardon his presence. But rather was only spotted as someone looked to the corner of the room where he was scribbling something down, peering through old folders and such. Sniggering faintly to himself as he continued on his 'work'.

This Stranger was clearly not part of the club. The members shared a glance to eachother. Was someone going to stop him looking through files, or even ask him who he was?

Naoko Kobayashi
Aistri Academy - Writing Club Room

When she heard Kevin saying that he wants to accompany her to the Gardening Club, Naoko's expression lit up. She then turned to him, before expressing her gratitude. The thought of having a company somewhat assures her. Who knows what the Gardening Club will be, considering that the Writing Club itself is kind of wacky.

"O-oh! Mar...shall-san was it?" She bowed to Kevin in-between her words. "Thank you for accompanying me to the Gardening Club!"

However, Naoko was not exactly enthused with what Seira has said to her. It seems like the objective is to get ornamental plants from the Gardening Club, and that is basically it. As she looked at Seira ushered Haruka and Micha towards the Woodworking Club, Jing eventually got up from his seat, before leading the students who agreed to go to the Gardening Club. Naoko merely stood quiet as she listened to what Jing said, although nothing of value has been said when they reached their destination. Part of her did wonder why Jing asked the others not to speak with weird strangers...

"Wow." The pink haired girl expressed her surprise on the Gardening Club's entrance. "That large door definitely belonged to a movie set or something..."

When Jing fully opened the large double door, the sudden burst of light made Naoko winced and threw her balance, but she managed to recover at the end. As soon her eyes got used with the amount of light, Naoko was greeted with the sight of an interior that resembled a large greenhouse. Naoko slowly paced herself with Jing and the others, while taking in the greenery sights. She was amazed with the views, though some plants looked rather... foreign? She was stunned on a particular flower that somehow has the color of a rainbow, and another what it seemed to be a plant with star-shaped leaves...

... Until Jing pointed them to a student tending a patch of petunia, telling them to go on ahead.

"So uh Jing-san," She blinked at Jing, while maintaining her suspicious gaze at him. "Is it possible to... at the very least, tell us what is he like? The head of the Gardening Club, Toru-san was it? I prefer to know him first before asking for some free flowers..."

Micha spent his time on the way to the other club wincing and rubbing at his ears. All these clubs were extremely loud, or rather...lively, much unlike theirs. He hasn't been around so much noise in years, and it was starting to get to him. All the chaotic energy of the school was making him extra testy, only for it to be increased upon their meeting the Club President, especially after he had apparently stopped the club to meditate.

Then he had to talk shit about Micha's energy, and honestly if his day wasn't going the way it was, Micha wouldn't have cared, but it wasn't exactly going well, or even any semblance of positive.

"Look man, I'm sorry not everyone has time to meditate their problems away or whatever, but if you're gonna be rude to guests then I'll make the fucking door myself." He was scowling, brows pulled close together and arms crossed in front of his chest. He had stepped in front of Siera and Haruka, protective instincts not caring that he didn't really even know him.
