Conner & Medusa

@PKMNB0Y @VitaVitaAR @Rune_Alchemist

It was only for a second. Really, anyone could've missed it with how quickly the young woman got her hood back up.

But she wasn't quick enough to escape Conner's eyes and she definitely wasn't quick enough to escape Medusa's either.

Saber!? No....it can't be. The hair color is different and her skin is paler. Yet, they have the same eye color, so she can't be an Alter. A different Class maybe? Wouldn't be the first time it happened., Conner thought to himself, trying to make heads or tails of this mysterious woman.

Medusa, on the other hand, was shocked when the wind blew the hood off the woman's head, her eyes going wide for moment before narrowing and being even more on guard. This can't be another Saber. The physical differences were obvious. Then there was the presence this woman was giving off. She wasn't a Servant.....at least, not a normal one. So, who or what is she? The gorgon enchantress turned her attention back to Saber. Surely, she saw what they saw. There's no way a Servant missed that.

Suzuka watched as the rain of blades fell upon the specters, impaling and ripping apart any that were within her line of sight. Really, what were these dumb things? While she was definitely glad that all of the main threats were taken care of...

"Tch, I missed her." Not a hit of remorse as Suzuka landed on the ground just a few feet away from Melt. She was a little miffed the ballerina got away completely unscathed. That was probably a good thing, though. While the rest of the specters had been taken care of, the caster herself still remained. Ugh, really what was with that creep? It was making the fur on her tail stand on end. Something about here was just...wrong. Like, totally wrong, and she was soon proven correct.

That specter thing, was totally out of season.

"Hup!~" In one swift motion, one of her blades was lobbed at the giant specter just as it had finished manifesting.

"What edgy outdated internet hole did you crawl out of?" Suzuka smirked with a light chuckle, not too impressed at the caster. Whatever that specter was though, it was just as wrong as the caster. "I dunno about you, Ballerina, but that thing gives me the creeps."

~Charlotte~

@VitaVitaAR@Rezod92@PKMNB0Y

Well.

That was unexpected, to put mildly.

As much as the girl tried to hide it, whoever she was...the striking resemblance to Artoria was not lost on Charlotte. She might have worn glasses, but she wasn't blind. Now that left the question of what exactly was going on here, and what was she going to do. She felt like this was going to get incredibly tiring to get caught up in. When it came to things like servants and stuff like this, it always was...she was however, mildly curious herself. She bore so much of a resemblance it couldn't be coincidence, and as much as both the girl and Waver were trying to hide it.

Well, she doubted there wouldn't be anyone who wasn't a little bit curious.

"Well...Saber," Charlotte addressed her servant. There was obviously a reason they were trying to keep it a secret. Respect? A potentially volatile outcome? "I'd say we should ask later, but I'll leave the decision to you, since this is something concerning you." She could at least, hopefully trust Saber's own judgement regarding this for now.

Mana was lucky. Her attack had sent the spirit rushing her flying and it got impaled by one of Suzuka's Noble Phantasm blades in mid-air. Mana was fairly freaked out now, worried about what could happen to her. Suzuka had jumped in so quickly and haphazardously that the girl wasn't sure what she could even do but watch at the moment. Her specialty laid in the creation of familiars so she found that there was little she could really do now. Rather than standing, she got to her hands and knees and crawled forward to the edge of the where she was so she could peek down at Suzuka and that Ballerina.

She wasn't really sure what was going on down there. Ghosts? Shadows? And... All the carnage... There was so much... No, that asn't important for now. She watched as the servant? that wasn't Suzuka or that Ballerina girl gathered together something from all the shadowy figures. She went silent as she was in awe of what was happening down below. Was there something she should be doing? No. She was fairly confident that there was very little she could do. For now, she should observe and trust in Suzuka's strength. That fox wouldn't be someone easy to kill!

Archer - Tomoe Gozen
Archer followed the unknown object with her eyes, watching as it crashed on a nearby building. She had half a mind to try to shoot it down. But, drawing weapons in the middle of the street was already frowned upon, shooting things down without justification probably would earn more than a slap on the wrist to both Archer and especially her Master from the public authorities.

"Fine, but be sure to find a safe place for the two of you, Master. Also, take care of this for me. I fear that, I might end up breaking it, if the situation gets dire," Archer said as she handed her handheld to her Master before entering the building. She tried to go through the front door first, but if that didn't work, the broken window would be as good as any other entrance.

Uehara Mitsuki

Given the blonde girl's reaction, Mitsuki figured that he really was just being strung along to help—not that it mattered at this point, given how they seemed to have gotten wrapped up in some sort of incident of their own volition. With a nod, the young man tried to keep pace with his Servant as she moved to enter the building in question. Of course, a broken window was apt to draw attention regardless, but oddly enough, there seemed to be less people milling about this section of the city than usual.

Or, well, so he assumed, given the lack of bystanders looking at it.

Taking Tomoe's console and slipping it away into his bag, Mitsuki watched as she attempted to enter via the 'normal' way—the front entrance. Though he had expected it to be fully locked, the fact that they had instead simply swung forth to let the Archer in had almost taken him by surprise.

What was less surprising, though, were the laser sights that seemed to be aimed right at the Servant as she did so. The owners—a series of half-mechanical drones—seemed to be priming their own attacks, and Mitsuki himself wasted no time in moving out of their line of sight.

"Whoa. I expected resistance, but..." he trailed off, shaking his head in disbelief. "Yikes. Archer, I'll leave it to you."

Alter Ego — Meltryllis

Once she had finished dispatching the ghosts summoned by the Servant in front of her, Meltryllis simply stood by and watched as whatever entity was coalescing had actually formed. All in all, it wasn't particularly intimidating—there were far worse terrors that she had seen, after all—but the way it looked was enough to bring a look of utter disgust to her face.

"Eugh. For once, we seem to be in agreement," she remarked towards the Saber next to her, pointing with one arm towards the giant ghost in front of them. "Something like that is just an eyesore, after all, so the sooner it falls over and dies, the better."

Without waiting for a response, the Alter Ego bounded forward, moving to slice away at one of the onryo's arms. After all, with something this big, it seemed simple enough to dance around and simply avoid all of its strikes. She was confident enough in her speed to be able to do that much, after all.

Saber - Arturia Pendragon

For a few moments, words failed the King of Knights.

Before her was her own face. Framed with silver hair, but undeniably her own.

In an instant, something struck her heart. It was difficult to understand this feeling, a mix of guilt and a dozen other sensations, questions, recollections, all of it poured into Arturia Pendragon's heart in an instant. The last time she had seem someone who shared her face...

...

The blonde knight took a deep breath.

She had chosen to never again let herself believe her own place in history was wrong. That would not change. But at the same time, the sight of something of this nature... she could not help herself.

"... I apologize, Master," Arturia responded to Charlotte's words, "But now... I cannot restrain myself."

She approached the silver-haired girl who shared her face, hesitatingly at first.

"... Forgive me, but I cannot help but notice..." she paused for a moment, averting her eyes somewhat. For all of noble bearing, the King of Knights was completely uncertain how to address this.

"... From where does your bloodline originate?"

@Rune_Alchemist@Rezod92@PKMNB0Y

Mihama Nanako

She might not have been perfect, but she was still a mage. But there was no real question of the huge phantom that had manifested using the magical energy of the shadow Servants and of the dead.

Nanako could identify it easily as an onryo. Or something similar to one, it was not a single vengeful ghost but rather a mass of them. Was that why the Caster had been so adamant about antagonizing the criminals before they died, to make sure they died resentfully and could be mixed with the hate-filled shades to create something like this?

Or was that simply the kind of person the enemy Servant was?

Regardless, Nanako was frustrated there was little she could do to support Meltryllis in this fight, but... maybe...

Without saying anything as to avoid calling the massive phantom's attention to herself, she began doing her best to funnel as much of her own magical energy to the Alter Ego as possible. Not only was it something that wasn't obvious to the enemy, but it would help at least a little if nothing else. But for the moment, all she could do was wait for a good opening to try something else and stay out of the way, so Meltryllis could fight unrestricted!

A rattling, rasping sound issued forth from the onryo's gaping jaw, as it leaned forward.

Promptly, Suzuka's blade embedded itself into its chest, and for a moment it reared back. In that very same instant, Meltryllis's axe-like kick struck its right arm and bit cleanly through the ethereal bone, sending the limb spiraling off trailing black-red fumes through the air that smelled like blood.

Seemingly unpreturbed by the loss of one arm, it raised the stump that remained, blackened tendrils of what appeared to be stringy hair emerging from the bone, cutting into the floor and wall as they lashed out towards the Servants.

In the very same moment, in leaned forward once more and vomited more of the foul, blood-smelling vapor in an endless torrent, sending it billowing through the warehouse. Needless to say, being touched by that was unlikely to be a good idea.

"Now now now now, as much as I'd like to watch my newborn child's playtime..." the Caster took a step back, "There really is business I must be attending to elsewhere, involving a little rat who's been giving these people trouble~"

With a giggle, she seemed to fade into the darkness...

Kaguya-Hime

"Medea and Circe can probably be ruled out entirely... although they have the skills required, Medea would never have used skills on this level in life and we can expect that she would hold back now as well," the beauty said, pausing for a second, "And for Circe we could expect more reports of unconsciousness and people turning into pigs."

"The mystic codes have tended to take the form of clothing or weapons rather than potions, which would suggest that Arachne is a more likely candidate than Ceridwen." Though speaking of mystic codes... Kaguya's gaze turned to focus on Hakuno once again, looking the Master up and down.

"Maybe I should make you something for protection?"

"I..."

Words seemed to be caught in Gray's throat as she attempted to avert her gaze from Artoria's. Her reaction had not been anywhere near as intense when Waver had done his introductory lecture earlier that week, but maybe that was because the Servant in front of her now had not been present. At this very moment, though, the young woman felt what could only be described as unbearable pressure bearing down upon her. Of course, she had hoped that this moment would never have come in the first place, but given the nature of Fusang, something like this was almost inevitable.

But to have what she was becoming—in all but name, no less—asking her something like that up front... The desire to simply flee was only stopped by her apparent inability to move her legs, much less speak.

Of course, given the scene playing out now, Waver found himself unable to simply stand by. Of course, he had wished to avoid contact with the Saber in front of him if at all possible, but it was his duty as Gray's guardian to at least attempt to step in. It didn't seem like she recognized him, at the very least, so he had some leeway on that front.

"Pardon me, but you're making my assistant rather uncomfortable," he finally said, turning around and placing a hand on Gray's shoulder. Given the reactions of the two students in front of him, though, the professor had a sinking feeling that he would have to explain matters in the future regardless; such curiosity was not so easily sated, especially given that one of them was the Master of the Saber speaking in the first place.

"...I can tell that a response like that is not what you would want, but I would rather not create a scene in the middle of the street," he continued, glancing at everyone before sighing. "At this rate, I'll just have to cancel my appointment... How troublesome. If you wish to pursue this matter further, then we can go and speak about it in my office. I'd rather not give a lengthy explanation in public, after all."

As much as he wanted to summon Iskandar, the issue in front of him couldn't simply be ignored; it was a bit awkward to end up wrapped up in something like this so soon after arriving, but given his own reputation, that much was almost to be expected.

Conner & Medusa

With an arching eyebrow, Conner's eyes shifted back and forth between the blonde and her apparent semi-doppelganger. What's the story of these two? Was the hooded girl a descendant of Saber? That seemed.... highly improbable, but her appearance suggests otherwise. Before he could contemplate further, Waver chimed in.

"Pardon me, but you're making my assistant rather uncomfortable," he finally said, turning around and placing a hand on Gray's shoulder.

As much as he was curious to find out more about this interesting development, Conner honestly felt like this was something that didn't really involve him. In fact, he and Rider were just about to return home when they got caught up in this little drama. Charlotte, by proxy of being Saber's Master, might pursue this peculiar quagmire, but as far as he was concerned...

"Appreciate the courteous offer, but no thanks. It's not in my place to pry into what appears to be a delicate subject.", spoke Conner with a polite smile. "In fact, Rider and I were just passing through and saying hi, were we not?"

Upon being acknowledged, Medusa gave Saber one more inquisitive look before turning her attention toward the professor.

"Indeed we were, Master.", she answered before giving a polite bow. "We apologize for the inconvenience this has brought you."

"At any rate, I think we took enough time out of your busy schedule as it is, so we'll being getting out of your hair now. So, if you would excuse us. Professor. Miss.", the young magus nodded toward the pair before turning toward Charlotte and her Servant. "Catch you later, Charlotte. Saber."

And with that, Conner resumed his trek back home, with Medusa closely behind him, giving one last look over her shoulder before returning her gaze forward.

~Suzuka~

@Pyromania99@PKMNB0Y@VitaVitaAR

It seemed like the only thing this ghost had going for it was its size. The stringy, hair like mass of tentacles were nothing that Suzuka couldn't avoid. Moving and dancing between the tendrils.Flashes of light, as her three blades cut through the others and turning them into useless mincemeat. It was easy for her to avoid and deflect such an easy attack.

"Tch!"

Of course, that also meant she wasn't able to get near the culprit of this assault before she managed to escape.

"Ugh, it smells worse than that cats cooking." Suzuka complained, making a light jab at Mana's familiar in the process. No doubt touching whatever that sickening gas was, would be a horrible idea, but that also meant she couldn't quite get near it either.

"Any bright ideas Ballerina?" She asked.

~Charlotte~

@VitaVitaAR@Rezod92@PKMNB0Y

How troublesome.

Well, everything was when it came to servants. She wanted to give Saber some breathing room and autonomy, but she wasn't quite sure she liked getting involved in whatever Waver was in. That said...not letting Saber have some leeway here would likely come back to make trouble later. Ah, she just wanted to stay indoors. Maybe she could ask saber to model for her as a favor after this?

She would look amazing in a number of suits...and maybe some more risque under-

a-ahem.

"It's fine, Saber." Charlotte replied. If nothing else, the sooner this is explained the faster this could get over with. "Mhm, see you later?" There was a question there, more of a curious tone on her part since she hardly even knew the other student, let alone enough to be friendly with them...well, no matter. She wasn't likely to talk with him again in the first place. A more pressing problem was in front of her.

"Much appreciated sir. I'd dislike getting involved, but as you can see Saber on the other hand...well, if you can explain whatever this is, it would make the both of us a bit more comfortable."

Saber - Benienma

"I agree, your conclusions are sound, Kaguya-hime," the AI spoke, addressing the Caster-class Servant as she did, before her gave shifted to regard the diminutive Saber and her Master, "In any case, I understand you also require a list of Fusang's summoned Assassins? Momentarily."

Before the eyes of those who were present, the list of Casters shimmered and changed to be a complete list of all known summoned Assassin-class Servants. Among their number there featured names such as Mochizuki Chiyome, Jack the Ripper, Shuten-Douji, Elizabeth Bathory, Hassan-i-Sabbah(more than once), and Charlotte Corday.

Determining which was the most likely culprit was likely difficult, this much Benienma was certain of. While she was excellent as ascertaining guilt, this case was a complicated one and tracking down the guilty when they were likely from a class that was excellent at concealing themselves was hardly the easiest task.

However, there was another matter to attend to.

One that was important both to capturing the suspect and to her Master's very wellbeing.

"Before we pursue this case any further, Masta..." the tiny redhead turned to face Hakuno, "I want to make sure you have had plenty to eat today. I'm sure neglecting your own appetite wouldn't assist on tracking down the sinner responsible for these crimes."

@Raineh Daze@RolePlayerRoxas

Saber - Arturia Pendragon

"Ah..."

She hadn't intended to cause the girl discomfort. Deciding it would be best to put some distance between the both of them for her sake, Arturia stepped back.

"I apologize, I simply could not help taking notice of our resemblance," she said, nodding slightly as she did. Truly, it wasn't possible for her to just ignore something like that given her past, even if in all likelihood it was a case of distant relation... or perhaps something slightly more complicated. Arturia was uncertain. Regardless of what the explanation was, she most certainly wanted to understand the why behind it.

And on top of that, her Master had given her blessing. Though it was of inconvenience to her, it was a matter she could not simply ignore.

"Very well, thank you for the offer, professor."

@Rune_Alchemist@PKMNB0Y

Yuriko T. Louvyngyr

"So, Jack, is there anywhere you'd like to go today?"

Yuriko smiled down at her Servant, holding her hand. She'd let Jack have a little freedom, earlier... maybe that'd be a bad idea in the eyes of some people. Given her Servant's nature, perhaps she really should have thought it through. But there hadn't been a single incident, and the little girl listened to her perfectly well, didn't she? To be honest, Yuriko had hoped to have a chance to meet a girl again... and there was no reason she couldn't do that while spending time with her Servant.

Still, it was a good idea to see if there was anything the Assassin wanted to do at the moment. That didn't involve dismembering the wicked, at least.

However...

It was just then that a little girl with brown, almost red eyes and black hair in a ponytail came out of the nearby alleyway. She was crying, and while Yuriko wasn't the most inclined to this sort of thing...

"... Ah, jeez... come on, Jack."

She gently guided her Servant along towards the girl. She couldn't just ignore the girl... the whole cold mage attitude thing hadn't sunk in that well with her after all.

Alter Ego — Meltryllis

Though she was rather unimpressed with the massive ghost's prodigious size, Meltryllis found herself rather annoyed at the fact that it was simply abnormally persistent rather than properly threatening. She and the cosplaying fox had already proven that its size meant nothing, but given that it seemed to lack any proper sapience, their ability to dispatch it seemed to mean nothing.

If only it could simply die like any other ordinary enemy...

With a curt 'hmph', the Alter Ego jumped backward as the odd tendrils struck out at her, her gaze sharp as she watched the billowing smog flood the area. It went without saying that actually fighting the monster would be more of an exercise in patience than it had been for the Shadow Servants prior, but going straight for it with reckless abandon would be the height of stupidity.

"Well, given how enclosed this place is, it's only a matter of time before the ground is flooded with... Well, whatever that vile smoke it. In that case, the only solution is to avoid it entirely, no?"

Though the smoke was flowing rather freely about, its mass seemed to be heavy, hanging closer to the ground while leaving the upper areas intact. Of course, as a primarily melee combatant, Meltryllis noted to herself to at least be able to strike and retreat without fail.

Not like she had any belief that she would fail, of course.

"Perhaps you should use your head more often; it might suit you better than acting like an airhead all day," she concluded, leaping towards the nearest wall and using it as a springboard to propel herself further upwards. At the very least, moving up above the mindless monster where its attacks could not easily reach would give her time to figure out if she could execute it and melt it down.

Even something like this had to be of some use as EXP, after all.

@Rune_Alchemist@VitaVitaAR@Pyromania99

Fusang Streets

If he had to be honest, Waver found Conner's own restraint in getting involved in the affairs of others like this rather commendable; of course, if he didn't pry into matters further, then that was that. Then again, he had gotten his own students involved in a great variety of problems of his in the past, so maybe this was for the best for now.

"Alright, then. I suppose we'll see you again during our next lecture," he said, bidding the young man and his Servant farewell before turning back towards the other pair. Of course, he still had a bit of trouble looking the Saber in the eye, but at the very least, he could half-address her by referring to her Master instead. "I should probably go and cancel my appointment, then, but I can do that on the way. Follow me."

At the very least, calling in to do so was notably less mired in paperwork than doing something similar back at the Clock Tower...
@Rezod92

Compared to his old office, the new one Waver found himself using at the university notably less cluttered. There was enough space for all of the documents he had decided to bring with him on the move over, but most of the other things he had used to decorate had been left behind. For the moment, though, that bare minimum—a desk and a few chairs scattered about—would be sufficient for the sake of an impromptu meeting like this.

With both Charlotte and her Saber haven taken their seats, Waver took a moment to compose himself behind his desk. Gray seemed to be looking at the two with mild worry, but given that she had at least elected to take a seat, the professor could at least focus on explaining the situation.

"...Right. Well... To put it simply, my assistant here did not originally appear as such. Her family had originally intended to turn her into a perfect copy of... Well, yourself," he stated coldly, gesturing towards Artoria before turning back towards Gray. She gave a slight nod towards the two to confirm his words, after which point he continued his explanation.

"Of course, things had escalated twice in the past, both of which coincided with your repeated incarnations in Fuyuki City in the last three decades. The first had brought about her initial change in appearance to something one might call an 'uncanny resemblance', but the second in 2006 has brought her even closer to your form in life, including that which resides here," he said, pointing towards the center of his chest. "In other words, your being summoned here once more..."

"...Means that professor is worried about what might happen to me again. Isn't that right?"

Of course, Waver hadn't expected Gray to speak up, but the fact that she at least had the strength of mind to look at the two head-on already meant that the shock from earlier might have already worn off, if only slightly.

"...Right. Of course, there is also the matter of her carrying the Holy Lance around, but at the very least, those are her circumstances. That aside, though, I would like if you could not spread the truth behind all this around. Though I have no doubt that others might 'understand', getting wrapped up in more trouble due to loose lips would be rather... Problematic, to say the least."

With that, Waver straightened his back and looked at the two in front of him, waiting for some sort of response. He couldn't stop them by any means if they decided to go against his request, which meant all that he could do was wait and see how they would react.

Saber - Arturia Pendragon

The explanation of what circumstances the girl was under revealed to the Saber-class Servant just why she was so nervous about her own appearance. It was not merely a case of distant blood relation, but rather a situation that had been forced upon her by her family. They had wished to recreate her through a distant relative?

That...

And it was because of her own summoning that the process had gone to this point. Had she known, she would not have answered this third call. Knowing that her reappearance would force someone to become her copy would have been a reason to remain apart from the world of modern humanity.

And yet she was already here.

"... I... am sorry," she said, finally, "Had I known, I..."

She trailed off. Saber did not wish to deny the desires of the Master who performed the summoning in the first place, either.

"... I will not speak of your situation outside of this room," she said, finally, "And if there is any way in which I can be of assistance, I shall offer my aid gladly."

Where did she want to go today? Wherever her mother was, of course. But that couldn't be the answer she was looking for, so where could she go...? She had clothes, so clothes weren't needed. She didn't want to go to school again because that was boring and it wasn't somewhere that you could just go to... parks were nice but as a Servant she always had an unfair advantage in playing.

Before she could actually decide on something, Yuriko had guided her onwards towards a crying girl. Ah... that wasn't good! But why was she crying? Maybe she'd been abandoned? She couldn't have Jack's mother if that was the case but maybe if it was just someone doing something nasty that could be fixed so it wouldn't happen again.

"Um... what's wrong?"
