Fusang Airport, April 2019

As far as flights went, the one that Waver had been on was only slightly less troublesome than he was used to. Despite flying on a separate flight from his assistant, he had only arrived an hour after she had, and by the time that he had touched down, Grey was already waiting for him, luggage in hand. If there was anything to complain about, it would have to be the mother desperately attempting to keep her child from kicking his seat from behind. One would think that he would have ended up in something better than economy class, but as it turned out, there was only so much money he could afford to throw around.

Even so, he didn't particularly mind the problem; the flight attendants were understanding enough to give him some extras to compensate for his troubles, and the flight had otherwise gone without issue.

Once both teacher and student had reunited at the airport, though, the first order of business was making their way to their place of residence for the forseeable future. Reines had, apparently, handled the problem, which was more than worrisome to Waver, but if worst came to worst, he could handle moving in short order. In a city as advanced as this, such a thing would likely be managed in short order, anyhow.

Leaving the airport by train meant that Grey had ample time to take in the sights of a modern city, which itself was a novel experience in its own right. Seeing so many students filling the streets below as they spent their weekends relaxing caused a slight smile to cross her face, and after a slight few utterances of confirmation to herself, Grey turned towards Waver and spoke.

"Um... Teacher, where exactly are we staying?" she asked, glancing around as the skyscrapers that were indicative of the city's center were slowly growing larger in the distance.

"Reines seems to have set us up with an apartment close to the university that I will be teaching at, which is located close to the center of the city. Luckily, public transit means that we should be able to move around the city as we wish. Once we have finished unpacking, you should feel free to explore on your own; I'll be handling some other matters on my end, anyhow."

As far as that went, though, there was more than just meeting with the head of staff on his mind...

Momotaro

Streets of Fusang, Headed Towards A Park, Sino-Japanese Quarter

"Master, you are getting fresh air whether you want it or not! I admire your studiousness very much, but locking yourself away perpetually is something utterly inexcusable!"

It was perhaps not an unusual sight, a servant and their master being in public in Fusang, yet in the case of a certain Peach Boy things were currently a bit...different. The blue-haired Japanese servant was currently dragging his master, by the back of her collar at that, deeper into the city and away from their residence. His brows were furrowed as he pulled her along, not even looking back save to seemingly do so to formally chide her like some kind of lecturing parent once in a while.

"You may read, but you shall do so in the park. Fresh air shall stimulate your faculties, physical and mental, and be a good for your health!"

On the other hand, the kimono the male servant donned was simple but very well made, nothing new in this area, and yet Momotaro seemed to garner some raised eyebrows as he moved along unflinchingly. It was nothing new, perhaps, as his rather 'pretty' features were still mildly confusing to some of the populace when it came to his actual gender.

It happened far to fast for her to order Momotaro not too. One second she had been reading some alchemical texts, the next her servant had deemed fit to grab her by the hem of her dress collar and drag her out into the city. Was this how her servant - a familiar that was supposed to obey its masters orders supposed to act? Hmph...well, he had been a decent servant so far, and he did have a point. She had been a bit caught up in her studies for a bit too long. As long as he didn't suggest she do something like...socializing or physical, she'd be fine.

"I can walk thank you very much, Momotaro!" She made a move to free herself of her servants grasp, straightening her glasses as displeased expression forming on her face, eyes narrowing into a light glare. "You should really have more awareness as my servant. Dragging me through town like this..." Really, he was lucky she was more lenient than some mages might be. "...well, no matter." She walked past Momotaro, lightly bonking him on the head with the spine of the book she was carrying. "though I suppose you are right, I could use some fresh air."

"Eh..."

Mana hadn't told her where she was taking them. She though it was gonna be a totes awesome girl date! She had been totally hyped to have a cute master girlfriend when she had been summoned. Manicure! Hair styled! New master servant Selfies! Most importantly, Lovey-dovey talk! And yet, she was currently doing not that.

"Hey hey, Master," Suzuka walked up to Mana, a somewhat bemused expression on her features. "How long are we gonna be here?"

Mana

"Uwa?!" Mana exclaimed as she had her head in a book. "S-sorry, Suzuka. I, uhh, got distracted reading this." The title was "World Mythology". A fairly compact looking book but it seemed thick for it's size. "Ummm, were you wanting to go?" As long as she had been with Suzuka, she still wasn't entirely comfortable hanging around with some Gal type. She closed the book and looked towards the check-out. "Let me buy this and we can go... somewhere..."

Manaka wasn't all too sure where else they could go. Food? Something nice? Geez. Otaku and Gals did not mix. She swallowed lightly, "Were you hungry? Or... W-was there something you wanted to do?" Geez, she felt like she was fumbling over her words right now. Not that it was anything knew while talking to pretty people. Why'd she even try to check out the bookstore with Suzuka with her?

Mimura Nanako

The brunette opened her eyes slowly.

For a few moments, she wondered just what was going on, and why her right shoulder ached so badly. Then, slowly, slowly, memories began to filter back into her head.

It had been a few days now, since it happened. She didn't even know when she'd fallen asleep today, either.

But her arm was still in a sling, shoulder bandaged. Maybe she should have been glad she could fall asleep with that on... or maybe not.

The shadow Servants. Meltryllis pelted with those crossbow that somehow struck her even if she dodged. And in that last moment... Before the final blow could be struck...

She'd used her own body to prevent it from piercing Meltryllis's heart.

She'd passed out from bloodloss shortly after that, and awakened in the hospital. Apparently, her shoulder would heal just fine after the attention they'd given it, but it would be for the best to allow it to rest for a while.

Nanako took a deep breath and sat back in her seat.

She was still just glad Meltryllis hadn't been killed. Even after everything... she knew, now. She knew that the Alter Ego didn't hate her.

But that wasn't all that was on her slowly-waking mind.

The shadow Servants. BB had directed them to take on the Shadows previously too. Where were they coming from? Aah, it was so strange, too... what could possibly be summoning things like that? She didn't know too much about Shadow Servants(she didn't know too much about regular Servants, either, to be honest) but she knew they were something like remnants, or fragments of real Heroic Spirits. What was drawing things like that forth?

And why were they hurting people...?

For a few moments, the newly-awakened Nanako was simply deep in thought...

Yuriko T. Louvyngyr

The young woman adjusted her tie.

Today, she had to undertake something crucial. Something she had struggled with before, but she wouldn't again. Today, she was going to take on a task that had previously seemed monumental. But given the devastating events prior, there was no question of its necessity. The current state of things was unacceptable after all. There was only one left. She had to fix this, and she had to fix it as soon as possible.

There was only one resort.

She lifted it up, and...

Yuriko placed the sunhat on her Servant's head.

"Alright, Jack, are you ready?" she asked.

She hadn't been spending enough time with her Servant recently, anyway... And given what happened to one of the other two outfits she'd bought for her Servant, leaving her with only this white sundress, she was really in need of more clothes. After all, the outfit she'd been summoned with was unacceptable for going out. Really, it wasn't acceptable for most things in polite company.

It was surreal. Yuriko understood, certainly, why she'd been provided this catalyst. An enforcer whose skills laid in killing, an enforcer who had most certainly killed before. Providing someone like that with the catalyst for a legendary serial killer to summon as an Assassin-class Servant had only made sense. She'd accepted it, aware of the potential dangers of summoning someone like that.

She was confident in her ability to control even a Servant of such a nature.

What she had not been prepared for, however, was to summon a child. An innocent little girl who called her 'Mother'. How did she even deal with being called Mother?! She wasn't a Mother!

And not long after being summoned, when the Association had provided her with a chimera for use as a test of her Servant's capabilities...

That innocent little girl had been caked entirely in blood without a single scratch on her.

But that didn't mean she had to be treated as a killer, did it?

And that meant she needed acceptable clothing. But now she was down to only one outfit, after the other had been torn to shreds(how did that even happen?!)

Ritsuko Fujimaru

It had been kind of a weird week, really.

Ritsuko had expected things to be different in Fusang, but she hadn't really been prepared for what had happened when she arrived. It was the first time she'd lived on her own, although seeing how often her parents were at work it wasn't too much of a change. And the city was so much bigger than where she was from, so much louder and livelier than she was used to. And, well... She'd ordered a catalyst for a Servant online. The seller claimed it was a one-hundred per cent genuine relic belonging to some famous something or other, but the surprisingly low price had caused Ritsuko to doubt its authenticity. Still, it arrived promptly... And looked a bit different from what was advertised. She wasn't surprised, really, as she had an inkling that the seller was a conman. But still, she wasn't going to waste it, and hey, even if it was fake she'd apparently get a Servant who just suits her well or something (she hadn't been paying too much attention to the explanation but still).

And then she summoned King Arthur.

And then she found out King Arthur was actually a girl.

And then she found out King Arthur was actually a very pretty girl.

All things considered, this was probably one of the last things she'd expected to happen. Even she'd heard of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, after all! He... Well, she was kind of a big deal! It made absolutely no sense how a low ranking mage with a cheap, most likely counterfeit catalyst could've summoned someone like that!

Well... A week had passed. A week with King Arthur. At the very least, she was easy to get along with. She was overly serious and stubborn at times, yes, but she was also a rather pleasant person... And her seriousness was actually rather cute at times, too. Of course the one thing she'd really noticed was, well... Her appetite. How could such a small girl eat so much? It was great to see her enjoying her cooking, but her larder had quickly gotten rather bare. So... Here she was, heading out to the store to restock. Naturally, her Servant... "Arturia" accompanied her. For one thing, not only did she want to make sure she got food Arturia liked, but well... Whilst her dress was rather pretty, she couldn't really wear it casually. And she was notably smaller than Ritsuko, too. She could've borrowed some of her clothes, but they'd be too baggy on her and a girl like Arturia deserved to wear something that actually fits properly.

"Hmmm... What kind of stuff do you want to wear anyway, Saber?" Ritsuko pondered aloud as they passed by some boutiques. "Then again I bet you'd look good in anything..."

The Rider didn't not even flinch at the book bopping his head, merely looking back in mild annoyance at his master's action before letting out a small sigh. Sometimes he wondered if his master realized just what she had actually summoned, at least when it came to the nature of servants. Some servant with far less of a civilized 'mindset' than his might have cleaved her head clean off for such an imperious attitude in this moment! Argh...but Pheasant did have a point, she was merely a youthful girl and he a heroic spirit who had long lived a life only to return in a youthful state. Not that he hadn't been sober in his youth anyways...

The blue-haired male servant ever so slightly shook his head side to side, taking himself out a train of thought before following along behind his master. He could not blame her, however, for wanting to live up to her family's legacy. She was performing her work and studies admirably, and such filial piety shown in the pursuit of her family's legacy at this time in her life was respectable. It was one reason he'd answered her summons, after all...though he felt it would be uncouth to become a mere 'yes man', as modern humans termed it.

"To care for the mind, one must also care for the body. Nourishment, exercise, fresh air, all of it factors into an overall well-being a growing and functional human being needs, Master," he said, calmly speaking as he walked up by her side to keep pace, looking forward beyond them towards the direction of the park, "I will confess my worries got the best of me back there, however, to the end of dragging you out here as I have. My apologies."

The male servant took a gentle, deep breath of the fresh air. Ah. It was not the same as home, when he had been alive so long ago, but it was closer to it than some other places at least.

Saber - Arturia Pendragon

It had ended in light. The last time the Servant King Arthur had been summoned, the Holy Grail had been wiped away to prevent the world being consumed by All the Evils of the World.

It was the only right conclusion there could have been.

The Holy Grail was not the answer. It never had been. And her wish...

It had not been the right path, had it?

But this time...

... This time, she had been summoned in the apartment of a teenaged girl. There was no Holy Grail War. She had been able to discern that fact immediately. There was no great threat to the world. And yet, she had been summoned all the same, a fragment of the crown that once sat upon her head used as a catalyst.

It had been difficult for her to understand the circumstances, even with the knowledge imparted to her by the summoning. But the summoning was legitimate, and she was a knight. It was on her honor that she gave her services to one who had contracted her.

Ritsuko... Fujimaru Ritsuko. Strangely, there was something about her that felt so very familiar.

To be summoned in such peaceful times, and yet in the company of an entire city of Servants. It was surreal, to be certain. Arturia Pendragon had never experienced such a feeling... the magical energy was present throughout the city. Not only of the Servants, but this aberrant island was was flush with magical energy. These conditions were not unlike those of the air in Camelot.

But on top of all of this... the King of Knight's new Master was a kind girl, one she felt comfortable serving, even if she still failed to understand why she had been summoned.

But on top of that...

Her Master's cooking. Her Master's cooking was truly amazing. Yes, it was food of great quality in great quantity, exactly as she had desired! While her Master's focus seemed to be Japanese cooking(understandably, given her nationality) she had shown a great command of a variety of dishes during their short time together. The blonde girl-knight had eaten excellently and in large amounts since her summoning.

Another surreal feature of her current summoning was to simply walk in the open air without any attempt to hide her nature. Granted, Arturia felt this made it far easier to protect her Master from potential threats(and indeed, at all times she was prepared for this fact), but her previous two summonings had required her to wear some manner of garment that concealed her nature. Here, she could walk down thre street in full armor, and saw other Servants behaving similarly.

Indeed, her Master had chosen to step out today to buy food. However, they also seemed to have taken a detour to a district that was selling a variety of different outfits...

"Ah?"

Arturia paused for a moment. She would look good in anything...? That was an overstatement, undeniably. Certainly she was not so beautiful as to look good in any outfit, did she? Besides, such concerns were secondary. She was a Knight.

"... I am not so beautiful, Master," she replied, finally. To waste money on buying her beautiful clothing would be wrong. Arturia would not require such things of her Master. As for what she wanted to wear... Truthfully, she had been uncertain how to answer. She paused for a moment.

"As for my clothing... I would prefer things that are easy to move in."

Arturia glanced towards the clothing on display. Surely, she was not suited to such things, was she...?

Kishinami Hakuno

She couldn't figure out what part of her plan was flawed.

Situated between two buildings, partially obscured by the shadows, a lone figure leaned against the wall, arms crossed and foot tapping impatiently on the ground. She had been there for about twenty minutes, clearly having expecting something to have occurred by now. the figure with flowing, brown hair and the most forgettable blouse ever designed had made sure to look like an appealing target for shady, black market salesmen! The white baseball was sitting backwards! That was, like, a true symbol of rebelliousness and... and troublemakery! So why weren't those con artists eager to sell her crap?!

Could it be that they knew Hakuno was actually a member of the CCF? A defender of justice and peace? Perhaps she simply chose the wrong alley to loiter in? Did con artists take lunch breaks? Hakuno exhaled deeply, shoulders slumping. She was desperate to find any kind of plausible, but it probably boiled down to one simple reason: She just couldn't manage to stand out, even when she was the only person around to notice.

"Haaahhh... And I thought this'd be super easy..." Hakuno grumbled to thin air, "who would've thought Mystic Codes were this hard to track down?"

Of course, the unassuming young mage was hardly going to tackle a black market by herself, especially when she was so lacking in firepower - and perhaps some common sense. Her complaints had been directed to her Saber-class Servant, who had been asked to remain hidden until now. It seemed quite unnecessary for Benienma to continue hiding at this point.

Saber - Benienma

There was a distinctive flurry of golden lights. In their wake there appeared what looked to be a little girl with flowing red hair and a single black horn on her forehead. Patience was one of many virtues that was should be possessed by one who desired to be both a judge and an innkeeper. A judge was one who patiently listened to testimonies and would be able to deliver a fair verdict. After all, it was the difference between condemnation and salvation, between punishment and reward. An innkeeper had to be patient with their guests, listen to their needs and complaints, and respond accordingly. Ideally, a good innkeeper would have no complaints, but an accurate prediction of the future, of what may happen, was impossible. And of course, patience was indeed something required of someone currently waiting for her Master to realize her current strategy was rather terribly flawed.

Thankfully, the Saber-class Servant Benienma had plenty of patience. In order to accompany her Master to in this endeavor she had assigned some of her assistants to care for the inn. As of now, the tiny, redheaded girl was wearing an outfit that her Master had purchased for her. Initially, she had asserted that such a thing wasn't necessary, but Hakuno had insisted... and... ah! It was... it was perfect! The shirt even featured a picture of a lovely bird upon it, and the skirt was quite easy to move in! The thigh-high stockings were similar to her usual legwear, and while these shoes were quite different from the geta she had been used to they were very comfortable.

The kindness of her Master, buying her this outfit even though it was not required, was something that would be held near and dear to Benienma's heart.

The only sign of her usual clothing was her hat. Within it, as usual, sat one of her sparrows, currently preening itself and peering about as Beni waited for her Master. Their duties as part of Fusang's volunteer law enforcement were incredibly important, in order to preserve the safety of the innocent!

Indeed, her Master's drive to do such a thing had solidified Kishinami Hakuno as someone Benienma was proud to serve.

That being said, the current strategy the brunette had elected to take... left much to be desired. Attempting to lure in purveyors of Black Market Mystic codes wasn't in and of itself unwise. Indeed, there had been a mysterious upswing in cases of these Mystic Codes appearing in criminal circles. Just who was distributing them and how they were currently evading law enforcement was most certainly a serious issue. However...

Wearing backwards hat and hanging out in an alleyway was not the way to handle this.

"Masta, I am not sure if this is the best way to try and catch them," Benienma said, with a frown as she approached, "Benienma doesn't think this seems very convincing dechi..."

She had to he honest. It was the only way to help.

Jack the Ripper

"We're ready!" chirped history's most famous serial killer, cheerfully adjusting the hat on her head. She wasn't quite sure why mother was so insistent on buying her extra clothing when she'd been summoned in something that was better than the clothes she'd had in life--draftier, but at least they weren't tattered!--but it was a nice thought. And after making a mess of the last set, Jack was extra happy that she was still being allowed more.

The only clue that the young girl was in any way dangerous lay in the stitching and scars on her face, though the evident... odd tattoos on her shoulders were a giveaway that there was something strange about her anyway.

@Crusader Lord

Well, he wasn't wrong. Honestly she should probably spend some time doing some light physical activity every now and then, but she just didn't have the physicality or mindset for it. She was a mage first and foremost, and any problem she could solve through physical means, she could easily just as solve it with magecraft and a little ingenuity.

"I'll try and keep that in mind. I do have some hobbies you know." Charlotte replied rather dismissively with a sigh. "I suppose you had something in mind when dragging me out here to the park? Or were you simply dragging me out here without a plan?" She wasn't adverse to hanging out at the park, but...without something productive to do it would feel like a bit of a waste, but then Charlotte wasn't one to find it relaxing to actually relax or hang around and do nothing.

"Mhm, if not, perhaps something to eat would suffice." She glanced sideways towards her servant. Hm...she had gotten rather lucky with him, hadn't she? Not too willful of a servant, and rather cute, if she had to say so. "Or perhaps we should visit the shopping center." Charlotte turned her head towards Momotaro. "I am running out of fabric and could use a bit more."

~Suzuka~

Wham Burger

"Duh, you think I like hanging around in this lame-o place?" Suzuka replied following Mana up to the counter as her mouth curled upwards into a wide grin. "Ahahah, this place almost gives off as many hopeless otaku vibes as you."

Mana handed the book to the clerk. ”Ahh… Yea… T-that’s me… A… Hopeless Otaku…” The girl mentioned meekly as the clerk rang up the book and told her the price. She handed her an amount and he gave her back her change and receipt. “I even tried to pick a more normal thing out.” She added as she turned to leave. ”So… anywhere you wanted to go?”

“Something normal? Well, knowing you it was something totally boring.” Suzuka followed Mana out of the manga shop, taking a brief moment to check her nails as she left. Where did she wanna go, though? The fox took a few seconds to answer before her mouth curled into another grin. “There's this fab beauty salon.”

”Ehh?” Mana replied surprised. ”A beauty salon?” That sounded… Terrible. ”Ummm. I mean… I don’t think I would fit in.” Especially if she called that a “fab” beauty salon… Well, that just wouldn’t be good. Her heart might not be able to handle it.

“Are you like, for real, master?” Suzuka huffed. “Wouldn't fit in how? You could totes rock a new manicure or do something with that hair of yours. No to mention them thicc legs of yours. You could show 'em off a bit more.” Really, what was with this hopeless master of hers? She was totally lacking in everything. She was about to drag Mana off there regardless of her protests, but a sudden flash of inspiration crossed the foxe’s features. “OMG hold up, brilliant idea. That's perfect! Master, we should so totally turn this into a girl's day out. You could use some new clothes and a totally legit makeover. I'll even do it myself!”

”Girl’s day out? Make over? New clothes?” Mana contemplated how much that would even cost. ”I dunno… That’s… I don’t think that would be good.” She shuddered slightly thinking on it. ”I think the clothes I have for now are fine anyhow…” If this money was spent on clothes, there were so many other things it couldn’t be spent on!

“Are you always this much of a mood killer Master?” Suzuka replied with a rather bored expression. “The clothes you have are so last decade. Well, whatevs. I guess that out of date sorta style suits you more than a flashier one.” Suzuka finished with a teasing grin.

Still, that left them once again, with nothing to do.

The two stood in silence for a minute. She managed to summon a rather rude servant. Mana looked around somewhat despondent before swallowing and looking to Suzuka. ”Are you hungry?” She asked. That much she felt like they could both agree to. ”There’s a burger place over there we could eat at… Ummm… Both Otaku and JK eat there…”

“Like a lunch date?” Suzuka replied, mulling over the idea briefly. “Sounds fun, fam.”

”A-A lunch date? I… Uh, guess?” A date? Mana wondered if it could even be called that. ”It’s over there.” She pointed to a place called “Burger Wham”. ”You like hamburgers, right?”

“Lol, what high school girl doesn't love hamburgers.” Suzuka replied with a grin. Not that she really minded eating in whatever place Mana wanted too as long as it wasn't staying at home and eating takeout.

”Good! Ah.. Umm, good. I’m glad.” She got a little too excited there didn’t she? ”Have you ordered at a burger place before? I don’t think we’ve actually been to one together.” Mana asked as the two walked into the place. There were no people ordering so it was open for them to do so.

“Really master? Can I order a hamburger?” Suzuka replied with a light frown. “Master, what highschool girl can't order a hamburger...or are you tellin' me you can't?” She teased lightly, walking up to the order counter. There were lots of things to order from this place it looked like. A quick look at the menu and what all the other girls were getting made her decision obvious. “Omurice Burger, order of Tamafries and a medium drink.”

Mana was somewhat surprised that Suzuka knew how to order. That said, she did hear them mention servants had knowledge of the here and now so she probably shouldn’t be. They adapted well. Better than most humans, if her and Suzuka were an example. ”I-I see.” She mentioned, stepping up. ”Umm… I…” Should she order what she usually ordered? Suzuka might make fun of her… ”I’ll take a… Uhh...T-triple.. Fries and a large drink. S-same order. I’m p-paying.”

Understood. Omurice Burger, a triple wham-burger, two Tamafries, a medium and a large drink.” The employee said as she finished tapping the order into the computer. ”Total will be… Mana swiped her card and paid. ”We’ll be over with your order when it’s ready.”

Mana nodded and walked over to one of the seats.
“Woah...” Suzuka seemed mildly impressed with Mana's order as she took a seat across from Mana. “I didn't think master was the type to eat a lot.”

”I knew you’d say something about home much I eat…” Mana sighed.

Suzuka placed her bag across from Mana, pulling out her totally chic flip phone. Before Her master could say anything, Suzuka put herself in the seat right next to her, pushing her body up against Mana's and grinning brightly.
“First Selfie of me and the master!~”

”Uwah!?” Mana exclaimed as she felt the servant push up against her. Her face was a mixture of confusion and excitement. It really showed on the picture when Suzuka took it. ”Ahh! Suzuka! A picture? Uhhhh… Oh… That was a bad one!”

“Ahaha, what? That was great!” Suzuka laughed brightly, showing Mana the picture on the phone. “Gotta add some filters, but this is gonna be a great pic.” Suzuka got up, quickly taking a seat on the opposite side of the table as she added a few things to the picture and uploaded It to the internet.

”That’s a terrible picture for me though.” Mana said with a bit of a frown. She went silent for a couple of seconds before looking up to Suzuka. ”So. You got an omurice burger?”

“Totes.” Suzuka replied casually. “Seems super popular here.” Speaking of the food, it was just about then the food made its way to the table. One Omurice burger, Triple Wham, Tamafries, and two drinks. Suzuka reached for the drink first. “What's the matter? Want a bite?~”

”N-no. I’m good. I have my own.” Mana said, reaching for her food and drink to bring them closer. She took a fry and ate it. It left a fairly happy look on her face. Likely even the happiest face Suzuka has seen on her all day so far. ”Tamafries are always so crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside!~ Then she took a sip from her drink.

“Like, they are legit huh.” Suzuka said, taking a bite of the fried food herself. “Omg, that reminds me. I should make a lunch for you sometime, but that annoying familiar of yours always chases me out of the kitchen.”

”Cocoa’s been cooking for years but she’s let me help her sometimes. She won’t let you?” Mana asked, taking a big bite out of her burger. ”Why does she chase you out?” She continued, wondering aloud as bliss covered her face as she ate.

“Like I don't know!” Suzuka replied with an annoyed huff. “Like, I cooked one time cuz I wanted to make you something, but she not only threw everything I made out she chased me out of the kitchen.”

”Eeehhh? That doesn’t really sound like her.” Mana pondered as she ate her burger more. ”Did you make her mad?” Suzuka might be somewhat surprised that Mana had ate most of her burger at this point. ”She can get a bit of a bad mood sometimes.”

“Like, I don't think I did?” Suzuka replied. “Hey hey, how about I make something tonight? It'll be totes great, promise on my maidenly heart.”

”Tonight? Uhh, Cocoa’s going to make dinner later. Maybe you can make a snack?” Mana said, thinking about it. ”She shouldn’t mind that too much.” The Japanese girl’s burger was completely gone and she was finishing off her fries. She definitely ate this a lot faster than she ate food at home.

“...eh? Master you like totes ate that down! Are you like, part wolf or something?!” Suzuka, completely forgetting about what she had been asking earlier was now focused on the fact mana had just ate a gigantic hamburger in less than five minutes.

”Ehh? Uhm… I… I’m human.” Mana muttered. ”I just, uhh, really like the hamburgers here.” By now, her fries were running low and there were just a couple left. ”Sometimes I feel like I could eat two… OH! But not right now!” She cleared her throat. ”I almost feel like you’ve barely touched your food.”

“I'm eating! Jeez, you just eat way to fast.” Suzuka replied with a light huff.

Yuriko T. Louvyngyr

Yuriko gave her Servant a smile as the white-haired little girl adjusted her hat. Ah, even if this didn't seem difficult now...

That didn't mean it didn't feel it. There were plenty of reasons to ensure that Jack was well-cared for. To begin with, the fact that Jack the Ripper was in fact a little girl was one on its own. The kind of life a little girl must have lead to result in the killings that occurred, for a little girl to be so violent, well... that said enough on its own.

Besides, even killing someone in cold blood didn't mean you were forever tainted.

Yuriko knew that well enough.

Aside from that, it was also important to try and make sure that her Servant was not unhappy simply due to logic. It was the best way to make sure there were no incidents, given Jack's nature. So keeping her happy was both for her sake and the sake of others.

It only made sense.

That being said, it was easier said then done. Yuriko had never had younger siblings and never dealt with children very much in general. So really she was winging it.

But she was winging it for the sake of a really cute little girl, damn it!

"I'll let you pick out your clothes when we get there," she said, taking her Servant's hand in her own and guiding her downstairs. At least she hoped that would work. She was prepared to use a guiding hand if Jack's picks turned out inappropriate. Based on the outfit she was summoning in this wasn't exactly impossible...

"We'll be heading down to the shopping district," Yuriko continued. She lived in a fairly expensive apartment, large enough to have plenty of room for both her and Jack. She'd made sure of it. "There's bound to be a lot of people there, so stay close and don't get lost, okay?"

With that, Yuriko opened the door and exited her apartment, leading the pale little girl by the hand as she did. Jack wasn't the biggest fan of the sun, so Yuriko had purchased the sunhat to help with that. It seemed to work well enough.

Alter Ego — Meltryllis

The days following the incident with the Shadow Servants had left Meltryllis with a distinct lack of anything to do. With her Master out of commission from doing one of the dumbest things she could have imagined a human doing, it was a wonder to the Alter Ego that she was even alive right now. Questioning the logic behind such an action was impossible so long as she was unconscious, of course, and she planned to thoroughly berate the girl on her stupidity, but that would have to wait until she woke up.

It made sense, then, to spend the next few days exploring the city; so long as her Master was not dead, then she wouldn't have to rely on Independent Action to continue manifesting. Though wandering around at ground level was next to impossible due to her legs (and her dislike of the prosthetics that her Master had chosen), leaping from rooftop to rooftop was not.

After two days of exploring on her own, Meltryllis was surprised to find that her Master had actually managed to recover enough to break out of her coma. It was surprising how slow humans were to recover, but given the current year that sort of issue could not have been helped.

The following days had been a far simpler affair; a doctor would come to Nanako's room, check on her condition, and leave; it only took a few days of checking in and treatment before the arm had begun to set properly, which meant that she could be sent home with little issue.

Needless to say, Meltryllis made sure that she was at least able to get home without issue before resuming on her daily outing. The freedom compared to the first few days she had been with her Master felt like a breath of fresh air, and she was more than willing to take advantage of that time for herself.

It wasn't like Nanako was often conscious for more than a few hours at a time thanks to her medication, either. She was slowly recovering enough to not require painkillers, at least, which meant that spending most of her time sleeping was also coming to a close.

With that said, though, the purple-haired Alter Ego's return to her Master's home this time coincided with Nanako's own awakening—a fact that Meltryllis did not fail to acknowledge as she entered the apartment through the window.

"Oh? It's rare to see you lost in thought," she remarked, taking a seat across from Nanako, a single eyebrow raised as she looked at the girl in curiosity. "Has the pain finally gone away, then? I should think that a broken bone wouldn't be that debilitating, but what do I know?"

Mihama Nanako

It was at that moment that her thoughts were interrupted by Meltryllis's rather elegant arrival through the window. Given how in and out things had been for her due to the painkillers, Nanako hadn't... really been able to really look at her Servant too well again... But seeing her okay, able to leap through the window like that. It had been the right thing to do. Even if she knew Melt thought it was foolish.

But the pain had been nothing at all, not after the result of her messing up. Regardless, though... she knew. She understood now what she had to do. Even in the still slightly-foggy state, Nanako knew.

"Eh-heheh, it's gotten a lot better," Nanako replied, "Some of the Casters they have working in medicine are incredible, but I think they decided not to rush it..."

She winced slightly when she raised her arm, but the pain was nearly nonexistent. Apparently, the bolt having gone through her body so cleanly was a good thing.

Ritsuko Fujimaru

Ritsuko tilted her head quizzically as Arturia described herself as "not so beautiful". The hell kind of standards did they have back in Camelot anyway?

"Have... Have you never looked in a mirror or something, Saber? You're super pretty! C'mon!" With a smile, Ritsuko grabbed her hand and dragged her into the nearest store, where she immediately began looking for things for Arturia to try on.

"Hmmm... Tube top, denim shorts, red jacket...? Nah, that doesn't suit her..."

After a bit of rummaging, Ritsuko picked out the first outfit for her Servant to try on: a blue skirt and a white top emblazoned with a black lion rampant.

"Come on, come on, try it on!" She was almost giggling with glee, really; she was getting far too into dressing up Arturia. "Don't worry, there's plenty more stuff to try after that too!"

Saber - Arturia Pendragon

"Ah-"

Arturia was uncertain of how to handle this. Her Master had insisted she was beautiful, but how could that be the case? She was... terribly unfeminine, wasn't she? And more than that, she was a knight. Beauty was hardly a chief concern of hers... and yet... Her Master had already taken her by the hand and pulled her into the shop.

It wasn't the first time she'd had clothing purchased for her, but at the same time this experience was somewhat different.

Though many of Arturia's concerns were briefly dispelled when she saw the lion on the first outfit. It was quite lovely, a proud beast that displayed quiet nobility even in this simplified artstyle!

Though being made to try it on and step out to show it off was more then a little awkward... once in privacy, the King of Knights dispelled her armor and dress and put the shirt and skirt on. It fit quite well, at the very least, and wasn't at all difficult to move in. After a brief pause, Arturia stepped out only mildly red due to the circumstances. It wasn't very becoming of a knight, but it was difficult not to feel somewhat awkward. After a few moments, however, she swiftly grew more comfortable. It was hardly an unfamiliar outfit, after all, it was not dissimilar to something she had worn once before, even if it was lighter and had a shorter skirt.

"... This outfit is easy to move in, and the noble beast upon its breast is the image of fierce honor," the petite blonde smiled slightly to herself with a nod. If all the other outfits were similar to this, then there would be no need for concern!

The next outfit was another item she was even more familiar with: A black suit, dress shirt, and matching pants. It was, in fact, not too dissimilar to what she had worn once before, moreso then the first outfit. As she stood in front of her Master, adjusting the gloves that had come with the outfit, she noticed Ritsuko had grown rather red and seemed to be breathing somewhat heavier.

"Master?"

The next outfit was powder blue, pink, and came with a bonnet and an amount of frills that the Saber-class Servant had never seen on any outfit previously.

"Why... why do I l-look like a cake?" Arturia couldn't help but blush as she attempted to stand still in the extremely poofy dress. It was unlike anything she had ever worn before, and did not seem at all conducive to swift movement or anything combat-related whatsoever. Simply wearing it felt incredibly embarrassing!

Nothing that came after was so embarrassing as that however. Shorts, skirts, shirts, jackets, there were a few different items selected for purchase by the end.

"You did not need to buy so many, Master," Arturia said. Both of them had ended up losing track of the time... "Regardless, as they were purchased for me I will carry those bags."

Kishinami Hakunon

Hmm..." Hakuno slumped her shoulders dejectedly, "even if I don't look all that convincing, there's always someone that'll go for an easy mark! It's like I'm not even worth wasting the useless mook for..."

As eager as Hakuno was to help in removing any kind of corruption from Fusang's streets, it was quite evident that most of her knowledge regarding criminal investigation came from fiction. Sure, the CCF had offered training and guidance on how to patrol, identify possible criminal activity, and how best to engage... but the young mage's buddy cop partner was also an adorable, strong, fast, cute, tiny, lovely, kind-hearted, wonderful, mighty, wise and soft-to-hug Servant with abilities beyond mere mortals! Surely it could be forgiven if Hakuno wanted to just find the first link to the Mystic Code sellers and zoom right to the final boss from there!

"...I guess we should try a different strategy, though," Hakuno eventually sighed in defeat, removing the hat. Shaking her head to let her tussled hair sway, the young girl stepped out of the alley, "wanna grab some food somewhere? If we're lucky, we might overhear some suspicious dealings next to our table or something!"

-----------------

Berserker - Guan Yu

Really, Berserker was thankful to be summoned into the modern day. It was a chance that, in her mind, really should not be granted to someone like her. After all, she was hardly a heroic figure worthy of acclaim. She was barely a footnote in the legend of another, at best. She may have held some regret in her heart when she died, but that alone was not worth calling her back over someone like her Father. Nevertheless, here she was, in a modern city apartment, currently enjoying her new life to the fullest!

"Masteeerrrrr! Come ooonnnnn, you need to get some fresh air!"

Pouting at the girl on the couch, the black-haired Servant stared pleadingly at the girl that had summoned her. Ever since she had answered the call, Saotome Hana had barely set foot outside their residence. In fact, she barely moved around the apartment! Having grown up in turbulent times, even being a non-combatant, Lady Guan simply could not comprehend existing in such a way! There was much she didn't yet understand about her Master, but surely there was no reason for her to laze around like an extra-adorable sloth! Even if it wasn't Berserker's place to say, she couldn't stay quiet about this attitude!

"Let's go for a run, Master! Running's fun! Once you gallop across the plains like Red Hare, the feel of the wind across your skin becomes a blissful sensation that you crave more and more! Please give it a try..."

Saber - Benienma

This really had been the outcome Benienma had predicted. Not because of any real failing of her Master, no, rather due to a failing of the strategy her Master had conceived. Just how was this going to draw anyone in? No, no, it wasn't suitable at all. The tiny redheaded Servant nodded to herself slightly. Indeed, the important task at hand was to guide her Master to a more effective course of action, rather then letting her go down this path once more. This was an important investigation that they had ahead. Crimes involving these black market mystic codes had been on the rise, criminals with little or no magical potential using them to commit heinous acts in some cases. They were they type who would be judged guilty, though the severity of the sentence varied.

Some would receive the full weight of justice.

Regardless, the matter at hand now was one of food.

"If Masta is hungry, Benienma wouldn't be opposed to finding something to eat dechi," she responded with a nod, "But I will be scrutinzing the quality of their food dechi!"

It was important. It wasn't as if Benienma saw it as complaining. Rather, she felt if there were flaws in a chef's cooking, they had to be informed so that they could improve!

Alter Ego — Meltryllis

When her Master showed that her injury had all but subsided, Meltryllis sighed before crossing her arms and leaning back into her seat. Both of them were aware of her inability to do much of anything to make things slightly more bearable as the arm in question healed, which obviously included preparing or producing any sort of food or drink. As far as she could tell, there wasn't actually anything she could actually do besides play bodyguard at the moment. It was a bit of a shame, but after that incident, even she would prefer to play it safe if possible.

"Well, if it's just about healed, then I guess that those Casters really are something special," she scoffed, motioning with one arm towards Nanako's injured arm before hearing the sound of her Master's stomach growling.

"...Well, if you're a human, I guess it can't be helped. Are you going to call for food again? If so, I'm leaving; there's no point in me staying around and causing needless panic if it's for a simple meal."
