I started roleplaying back when I was thirteen (now 28). I didn't roleplay through AOL, but I fondly remember Invisionfree, Zetaboards, and Proboards. I had a forums of my own at one point.

But then I became an adult. Had two minimum wage jobs and worked about 60 hours a week on average and had to quit for about... 10 years? Finally have one decent-paying job so I have free time on my hands again... =D

I fondly recall usergroups and ezboards quite well, haha. The late-90s to early-00s was quite a time for the hobby.

Yes. That and AIM, yahoo messenger, and neopets. I use different screen names now but yes, I was around then. Prolly why I gravitate towards discord tbh.

Are you me? Haha I remember creating my own pro boards forum too! I am also 28 and started at about 12/13ish and due to life had to go on hiatus for a long time before getting my full time job.

I never RP’d through AOL, but I did on MSN!

Well I never roleplayed on AOL, I did try messenger via yahoo once though it didn't last as long as I would have liked that wasn't my first start into roleplaying as a whole. I have started seriously since I was 18 but it goes back to like when I was 15 on a game called Stick Arena

I started doing role play more in the early 2000s after Morrowind, but I did kind of roleplay when I was a wee little shit of 13/14 on Battle.net or BattleNet or whatever they called the Diablo/Diablo 2 internet thing.

I RPed a big dumb ass Warrior/Barbarian. Like a "Grog encounter new mysterious man with glowing eldritch orb. Grog smash man with shiny ball until ball all wet and slippery."

I probably used the word eldritch back then too. Was way into horror novels. Stephen King, that guy who wrote Necroscape, Clive Barker, Lovecraft.

My sister had a girl friend that had it, then I took her AIM from her dunce idea. It was all avatars and tramps mainly, I took an AIM name of hers as mine "SKELATON OF WAR" was a good first effort, so, for RuneScape 2 the 2nd account was named her name "Snowdevil6" - but my first account was japing it all and was "Boy_Humper7".

Ahhh, NeoPets. I still play, and off dubloons, too. My beginnings had me hacked by my sister and her friends, otherwise I'd have a halloween zafara thanks to test your strength getting me the hween pb, an initial ice Bori, and 150 avatars. There was only one way to survive.... Sword Hunter, until Rangering became processive. I'm totally a Cavalier, they get reapt - no more to say.
