The Weeping

Location: Fat Tony's Warehouse, The Melting Pot, Eastern Nighthaven, Paragon City
Skills used: Host of Many

The Weeping nodded at Amara to show that he agreed to her terms. Taking the amulet, he cradled it in his hands as his attention was placed back on the original intruder. Wordlessly he placed the amulet on a small table besides the corpse as The Weeping was currently lacking in the clothing department. His body though masculine in shape lacked any signs of being male or female.

He called upon the chaotic masses to aid him in his hunt, but they were oddly silent as his orange eyes shifted towards that woman.

“Cowards.”

He thought as all of the voices began to holler at him in retort, but he ignored them as he leaped into the shadows. Reappearing where Julia had been but finding the space empty. A slight frown crossed his face as he slowly but thoroughly began to search each room through the shadows finding her to be well and truly gone. This would have been so much quicker if they helped him.

He sighed as he allowed himself to sink like a stone in a lake. The shadows embracing him until he finally landed back into the hidden interrogation room. The Weeping found it empty and now all of a sudden, the spirits began to venture out. His eye twitched slightly in irritation as he opened up a closet and began to put on the clothing that was in. Quickly donning a pair of black pants and a long-sleeved trench coat.

He nearly closed the closet when a slight chuckle escaped his mouth. He reached out tentatively but stopped himself. It almost seemed silly, but to be fair he had never worn one before. After a small internal conflict of fashion. His hands gripped the hat in the closest. It was a fedora that matched the trench coat.

Despite the chorus of voices he could hear urging him to take off the hat he paid them no mind as he felt somewhat relieved that now maybe he could go out in public without terrifying people....right away.

Grabbing the amulet and pocketing it as he left the room using the shadows and got back up to the first floor the Weeping heard several gun shots. His eyes narrowed and he growled. All he wanted was peace and quiet. It was already bad enough this stupid woman was using him as an errand boy, now someone was causing chaos in his alley ways.

He glanced out the doorway to see what looked like a homeless man he had never seen before yelling and waving a handgun around.

“I already told you bring me Fat Tony! If I have to say it again, my next shots won't miss!”

The Weeping could see several of the homeless cowering in front of him. As he stepped out on the steps his feet kicked several beer cans alerting the gunman. This man knew all of Fat Tony's crew and he could tell this fedora wearing fool was not one of them. He fired off a few rounds as the Weeping melted into the shadows the bullets missing him entirely.

The gunman's mouth dropped open as he rushed towards the spot the man had vanished.

“Where is he?!” He asked frantically as his eyes scanned the darkness. “I could have sworn I clocked him...”

As his bewilderment grew a sudden hand forced itself through the darkness and tightly crushed the man's hand forcing him to drop the gun as he raised him skyward.

“So you want to scare people?”

A wicked grin crossed the Weeping's lips as he revealed his razor sharp teeth. His free hand grabbing a rusty piece of steel rebar from a collapsed section of wall.

“Fine.” He growled.

“I could use a scarecrow.”

Taking the man to the entrance of the Melting Pot alley, he slammed the man up against the wall and jammed one end of the piece of rebar dangerously close to the man's neck. Then taking both hands, he bent it around the man's neck, so that he was now pinned here. Forced to stand on his tip toes least he suffocates.

He slowly pressed his sharp index finger against the man's temple as a small trail of blood ran down the man's face.

“You tell them, all I want is peace and quiet. Stay. Out. Of. My. Alleys.” He was careful to enunciate each word slowly. As The Weeping faded into the shadows beside the man and eventually came out on top of the building. He frowned as he fished out the amulet and looked down at it. Moving it around in his fingers he noticed that depending on the direction he was facing it would glow ever so slightly. Facing the direction it was barely glowing he dived into the shadows.

The hunt had begun.

The Lucky Noodle, Little Asia.

As soon as the door to the Lucky Noodle had opened the early lunch hour crowd filed in, and found their seats. "Ah. Ms. Crane. A pleasure to see you as always, he bowed his head to the familiar regular, as well as newcomers to the shop. Within seconds the shop was bursting with activity. Hoshi and the other servers went to work taking orders.

"Of course," she said to a first timer, a young man familiar from the streets, adorning a pair of sunglasses, asking for the restaurant's best dish. "The Chicken-Broccoli bowl is very much acclaimed; simple yet delicious. Seasoned to order as well."

As Hoshi hurried off to put in the first wave of orders, Shimazu approached the young man. “Hello,” he bowed graciously, and extended his right hand. “Ken Shimazu. I’ve seen you around town, but never here. So welcome. Feel free to ask myself or anyone else on staff for anything you might need."

Horace J. Wolfe

Veridian Tech - Executive Suite

With little more to add to the conversation, Horace simply nodded in affirmation. “Four o’clock will work for me. I’ll inform the security detail at the hangar that we’ll be executing these tests.” He rose to his as Maria made her exit. “I’ll have my reports done before I depart for the hangar.” As Diana made her leave he passed a professional nod to Dr. Michial, and something resembling a salute to Canis-V before exiting the conference room himself.

As he boarded the elevator back to the Security Headquarters, he pulled out his phone and sent Diana a message.

If I’m not mistaken, we have other matters to be discussed at a later time?

Katherine Tran

Veridian Tech - Executive Suite

"Hi. I'm Katherine Tran. I'm here to meet with Diana Smith." KT had just arrived on the Executive Level and was checking in at the secondary security checkpoint. Things were definitely tighter these days; more than when her father had been around.

"Yes. Ms. Tran. We got the call from downstairs. Just sign in on the tablet and wait out here. New policy is that all guests are accompanied by a Veridian employee at all times."

"I understand." KT turned on the tablet mounted on the desk next to her. It was a bit of a process, filing her name and address, scanning her photo ID, thd reason for her visit... the only thing they didn't ask for was her social security number. When she was done, she sat herself in one of stock lobby armchairs and awaited Diana's arrival.

Theresa "Toro" Torres

70th Street Bank Heist

Theresa stood over the hostages while Valentina dealt with the bank tellers. It was a bit of a bore having to babysit, and she quickly found herself wishing someone would at least have the audacity to make a move, or throw a punch her way. As if. her reputation around Mapleview had preceded her well enough that no one in the bank could shed their self-preservation for heroics. The pragmatism was admirable… but lame.

As if in answer to her wishes, a sound of metal being torn apart echoed from somewhere in the back. Theresa looked to one of the 70th grunts, and cocked her head towards the sound. "Check on that... yes. Right now." The grunt hurried off. Seconds later gun shots rang out, followed by the agonized scream of the grunt. "Sounds like I've gotta deal with this one myself," Theresa said to herself. She looked around to the other 70th Streeters and ordered "keep these sheep in the pen," as she departed towards a back hallway.

She rounded the corner in time to see the grunt she had sent in floored by a large, robotic... "What in the Hell are you supposed to be?" She looked up at the metallic figure that stood over her underling. "Can you move?" the 70th groaned in pain. "I'll take that as a no." Theresa stepped up, and stowed the downed grunt's gun on her person and looked back at the intruder. "Whatever you are, you're cutting in on the wrong business. Back off now and there won't be any trouble." She cut in between the machine and her comrade.

The Lucky Noodle, Little Asia.

As the early birds flocked into the Lucky Noodle, a black sedan with heavily tinted windows rolled to a stop along the curb outside. Glaring from the opposite side of the front passenger door, a pair of eyes scanned up and down the street and sidewalk. “The old man’s certainly done well for himself.” Zhang Taiwu’s words seared out scathingly, fogging the interior of the window. He narrowed his periphery onto the car’s driver, nodding for him to bring the vehicle to a proper stop. Once the wheels settled, Taiwu cut a look over his shoulder, where Xiao Feng’s face would peer back, silent, and half-shaded.

“Don’t expect this visit to go down easily, boss,” he said. “His body might have lost a step, but I’ll bet his mind is still sharp as a steel blade.” Of course, that was why Taiwu was party to this particular visit; nothing like a little heat to soften the steel. Reminding himself of that fact, he opened his door, and climbed out onto the sidewalk. Shutting his own, he pulled open the door behind him, allowing his boss to step out as well. As he shifted to make way for Feng, he felt the back of his neck prickle. Nine years in and the emblem of the Blue Dragons still burned where the ink had set in.

C A N I S - V
C A N I S - V

Location: Engineering Labs, Veridian Technologies, Nighthaven, Paragon City

Canis-V stood silently as the meeting came to a close and simply observed.

[MISSION PARAMETERS: DEBRIEF WITH 'BIG WIGS' IN MEETING ROOM TWO]
[MISSION COMPLETE]

Canis-V ran a victory chime audio file with the volume on silent, as It's Communications System suite was indicating that this was an inappropriate time for that sound. An image of Dr.Michail's face during the meeting flashed in it's H.U.D. and it held Canis-V's attention for a microsecond before it was removed.

[MISSION RECEIVED]
[MISSION PARAMETERS: COMBAT ASSESSMENT]
[MISSION OBJECTIVES:]
  • RETRIEVE MODULAR ATTACHMENTS
  • ARRIVE AT WAREHOUSE 5
  • BEGIN COMBAT ASSESSMENT
  • WIN

Canis-V had time to thoroughly review the mission and build a comprehensive dossier on every aspect of its parameters and objectives by the time It and Dr. Michail left the meeting room. Dr.Michail followed Canis-V out of the room and into the offices. Once again Canis-V made it's way through the office as people scrambled to get out of it's way. This time, however, Dr.Michail walked in It's wake. His face appeared smooth and impassive, but Canis-V could read in his micro-expressions that he was giving signs of stress and frustration. It held open the door as Dr.Michail walked through and closed it behind them after.

Once the pair had walked deeper into the stairwell Dr.Michail stopped and turned to Canis-V, looking it in the faceplate, "Okay, lets have a quick talk about your behavior during the meeting." For a moment they stared at one another before the Machine replied,"To what are you refering Doctor?" Dr.Michail's eyebrow rose.

"Listen, they may not know you, but I can tell when you're being snarky. 'this would be a gross mismanagement of my potent abilities', really? You basically told that man his job was beneath you!" Canis-V was silent for a moment as it processed how to respond.

"It is."

Dr.Michail snorted and shook his head while he put it in his hand,"Unbelievable."

He turned and began to walk down the stairs again as he spoke with Canis-V, "I understand that you might be frustrated that you're getting the run around, hell after being locked in the basement for three months I'd be pissed too." He stopped at the next landing and opened the door, before turning back to Canis-V," But if they understood you like I do, that could've cost us this chance to get you out into the world." Canis-V was silent so Dr.Michail continued,"I'll see you at the Warehouse. You've got your pick of the litter from the Flight Modules. I'll let you find your own way to the warehouse, give you a chance to stretch your legs." He patted Canis-V on the shoulder with the hand that wasn't holding the door open,"Don't get into trouble."

[CRITICAL MISSION UPDATE]
[MISSION OBJECTIVE ADDED]
[MISSION OBJECTIVES:]
  • RETRIEVE MODULAR ATTACHMENTS
  • DON'T GET INTO TROUBLE
  • ARRIVE AT WAREHOUSE 5
  • BEGIN COMBAT ASSESSMENT
  • WIN

"Acknowledged."

Dr.Michail nodded and then left the stairwell. Canis-V stood there, still for just a moment, before it turned and made it's way down to the engineering labs. The long walk was quiet and it had to be careful not to damage the steps. once it arrived in the labs it made it's way to the docking station and once it was secure it's Flight Module of choice was removed from one of the module racks on the wall and the automatic assemble arms began the process of attaching them to Canis-V's frame.

[HIGH MOBILITY FLIGHT MODULE ADDED]

The flight module that Canis-V chose presented as a pair of caplets that trailed over it's shoulders. The capes were green with a black border, and were made of an electrostatic titanium weave. They shimmered in the light and with a 'VWOMP' the fabric went taught and snapped out to it's full size. The flight module when fully extended resembled a set of dragonfly wings, which began to oscillate at rapid speed. Canis-V's feet left the floor, and after hovering and testing the module for a moment Canis-V dropped to the floor and began to make it's way out of the building.

As it made it's way to the roof it reviewed the specifications of the module it had chosen. The H.M. Flight module sacrificed speed and power for unparalleled maneuverability, perfect for dense city streets and close quarters combat. Once it arrived at the roof of Veridian Technologies it deployed it's wings once again, and launched itself into the air. Canis-V used the wings to guide it's momentum as it aimed itself towards its next location and began it's journey.

There were at least two ways Keyrs stunt could go, and it went the bad way (besides getting two people safely out of the store - a positive accident).

She was wearing her helmet, though it was designed with blunt force trauma in mind -like a bike helmet- not ballistic. Keyrs made a mental note to add that -at least as a custom option. Really why had it taken until this moment for her to think of that? Second mental note: definitely add it to her chest plate prototype (not currently being worn), and possibly-definitely to her boots.

"Maybe it does. And maybe how it concerns me could concern you. It must be rather the inconvenience to have to tread to umpteen shops every week. I'm a technologist. I could design an automated something, like a drone, to do the collections for you. Equipped with weaponry of course. Imagine what strides you could make in your business with all that time freed up? I mean, still making house calls in 2060?" Her mouth turned up on one side in a derisive smile.

There were at least two ways this could go.

@Tally Dor The Weeping would end up finding himself in Nighthaven still, the little amulet that was given to him started to glow slightly and pointed towards a house. He would see a couple they were around their forties or so getting up and leaving the house, the man had taken out a pair of keys and locked the door behind them and made their way towards the car that was parked streetside. The car started and the couple would begin to drive away, leaving the house alone and unattended.

The amulet continued to glow and started to defy gravity a little bit as the pendant on it pointed towards a window on the second floor. There was a young woman walking her dog a little yorkie she wasn't paying attention and bumped into The Weeping. "Sorry!" She said, but however when she got a good look at The Wheeping's face she would let out a very loud scream and picked up her dog she quickly ran away in the opposite direction.

@Silver Carrot As Julia left The Melting Pot behind and down the street there was a little cheap motel that wasn't to far called Golden Nugget Motel. The place looked like it had seen better days, however it was very cheap which was around thirty dollars a night enough for Julia to stay for quiet awhile if she wanted to.

Outside of the motel there were a couple of street workers along the side trying to pick up a few clients. There was a young guy standing outside of the motel leaning up against the front door lighting up a cigarette in his hand his hair was cut short and wore a shirt that was slightly stained by what looked like BBQ sauce or something. On the right side of his chest was his nametag with the title of manager etched into it.

@Carlyle Valentina was down in the basement with the bank's manager now, she sadly didn't hear what was actually going on topside where Zero-Zero and Theresa were. The rest of the gang members were doing what they were ordered and made sure that their hostages weren't going to do anything. One of them tried to call for the police however one of the gang members quickly butted them in the head with the but of their rifle knocking the man unconscious.

However three of them followed shortly behind Theresa to where the gunshots were heard, seeing their fallen comrade they looked at Theresa. "Should we let you take care of the robot or whatever that is?" One of them asked while pointing their gun at Nancy waiting for their orders though they didn't go to help their fallen comrade just yet in fear of being attacked by Nancy the police hadn't arrived just yet luckily for the 70th Street Gang members just yet.

@Araby264 Canis-V would be able to fly without to much of an issue, the warehouse in question that was owned by Veridian Tech was in Paragon Bay, more specifically the port. The security around the Veridian Tech warehouse was heavily guarded by security and had twenty-Four Seven protection. The Delgato's have tried to break into the warehouse a few times, but were either protected by the secruity forces or the vigilante known as Artemis if it ended up being to tough for the guards to handle itself.

Canis-V would be able to make it to the warehouse without to much of an issue. There were a few guards standing guard and spotted Canis-V from above and lowered their weapons as one of them approached. "The boss said you'd be here soon, please make yourself comfortable until Wolfe arrives." They said, Canis-V would notice that the warehouse looked like it had been broken into the night before with one of the skylight windows had been broken in.

@Master EffeX The two Delgato's looked at each other for a moment as they thought for a moment as the one pointing the gun at her eyed the tech that she had been wearing. The hard light disks looked pretty useful as the leader thought for a moment before lowering the gun, they could use someone to help them make things. "Well the boss is in the market for someone who knows their way around tech." They said as he lowered the gun from her forehead however they kept it out.

"You'll be coming with us, the boss would like to know more he'd be interested in your toys." He said as he looked towards his friend still babysitting the shop keeper. "It's your lucky day, you'll have one more week to pay up." He said and nodded towards his partner as he lowered his weapon as well to, as the leader turned his attention back to Tronical and motioned for her to head out. "We'll drive you over." He said but still had his gun pointed at her in case she did try to attack.

Diana Smith

Location: Veridian Technologies, Nighthaven, Paragon City

Diana felt her phone going off as she pulled it out seeing it was a text from Wolfe and smiled slightly as she quickly sent a reply back to him. 'Yeah we can discuss it along the way to warehouse for Canis-V's test i'll come and get you once I am ready to leave.' Diana hit send as she put her phone back into her pocket. Diana headed back out and into the main floor of the Executive level towards the waiting area, her eyes turned to see her closest friend Katherine and smiled quickly making her way over towards her as she looked at the secretary. "She's with me." Diana said as she approached KT and gave her a quick hug.

"How are you doing?" Diana asked as she motioned for her to follow her over towards her office she started to walk over towards the door and opened it allowing KT to enter. "Want me to order some food from the cafe downstairs?" Diana asked as she entered the office closing the door behind her and turned the blinds off so that they could have privacy as Diana went to sit down in her chair.

Madalyne Crane

Location: Little Asia, The Lucky Noodle, Paragon City

Xiao Feng looked over at Zhang and gave him a slight smile, he really didn't want to come here to fight he merely wanted to offer some protection The Lucky Noodle was on the boarder between Little Asia and Mapleview. "We are merely here for a meal and potentially to offer Mr. Shimazu some protection from our rivals, they do tend to get bold around here. But if a fight does happen we will defend ourselves." Xiao Feng said as he entered the Lucky Noodle. Xiao Feng was known to somewhat friendly but is never a pushover at all and is a well known martial artist as well to with his powers giving him enhanced strength as well to.

Madalyne turned to look at Hoshi as she approached her table. "What would you like to have?" She asked the girl as Madalyne took a moment to look down at the menu. "I'd like my usual Dan Dan Noodles please and a coke." Madalyne asked as Hoshi nodded writing down the order before going to the back to take the orders to the kitchen to be made.

Madalyne pulled out her phone looking at some messages from her friends, her eyes turned to look at the front seeing two more guests entering the little ramen shop she didn't recognize the two of them really. Xiao Feng turned to look at Ken talking to one of the guests before addressing him. "Mr. Shimazu would you mind if we talked for a little bit?" Xiao Feng asked everyone in the room seemed to have gone very quiet staring at the two Blue Dragon leaders.

The Weeping

Location: Residential neighborhood, Nighthaven, Paragon City

It amazed The Weeping as the run-down streets were slowly replaced by slightly nicer neighborhoods. It really gave meaning to the old adage about poverty descending upon people like a robber. It truly was never far away. Standing on the final building overlooking a small residential neighborhood, he frowned. The rooftops had been excellent for staying away from prying eyes. Glancing down he noticed the amulet glowing towards the houses.

A small sigh escaped his lips as he placed a hand atop the fedora as he allowed himself to fall into the shadow beneath his feet. It felt like a rush of weightlessness as he quickly descended through each of the floors before landing softly on asphalt still wrapped in the shadows he tried to gather his thoughts.

This Amara had appeared in his presence somehow under the nose of all his spirits without warning. That was bad. She somehow knew his name to be Nigel which caused its own problems as he had slowly begun to feel himself fully becoming one with this current body. Now it felt like there was a bit of separation between Nigel Jamil and The Weeping. Whenever he called upon the spirits instead of becoming one it almost now felt like he was more in the backseat giving directions to an unknown driver.

“BE STILL. CALM YOUR WORRIES. FOCUSSSSSS. FIND THE GIRL. KILL DELGATOS!!”

Inwardly he frowned. The spirits did not wish for him to be introspective? Curious. Yet they had a point as he left the cold embrace of the shadows and walked down the sidewalk in the morning light. The main focus right now was the girl so they could all have their revenge.

He pulled the trenchcoat tight as he slowly made his way to the house that the amulet was focusing upon. He tried to make himself look normal by being busy looking down cradling the amulet with both hands almost like a cellphone causing the couple that had just left the house to not give the walker a second glance as they left. Once he saw them turn off the streeth he sighed. He hesistated as he questions the morals of this situation, murdering those who deserved to die? Sure. Kidnapping a child?

He was jolted from his thoughts as his piercing orange eyes locked with a hazel eyed woman. He cursed inwardly as she ran away screaming. Seems his moral dilemma was going to have to go on the backburner for now. The Weeping took a few quick steps to the front door but stopped as he noticed a small engraving on the top corner of the door. His spirits seemed to tell him it was best if he did not touch this. He took a few steps back and looked at the tall oak tree in the yard. The morning sun was causing it to cast a massive shadow. This would work. Vanishing into the shadow of the tree he found himself staring into a medium sized bedroom.

The Weeping was quickly realizing this was not going to be as simple as he had originally envisioned. He could see several books on a bookcase as well as one sitting on the bed. The dead were warning him of strange power emanating from the tomes. He glanced at a computer sitting on a desk and half way wondered if his spirits knew how to bypass the need for a password he bet it was going to require.

He could sense some confusion from the spirits at this thought and then he shook his head, some of these spirits had been dead for nearly two hundred years. What knowledge would they have of computers? Tossing this idea out and taking a glance around the room he spied a bookbag near the bedroom window. A few quick steps brought him to it and he lifted it unzipping it as he did and quickly rummaged through it.

School supplies, folders, a small container of makeup, a chocolate bar, and finally something useful. He held a school ID in his hand.

Quickly tearing open the chocolate bar and shoving the entire thing into his mouth he smiled. Somehow sweets didn't taste like ash. With the priority taken care of he focused his attention on the ID.

Madalyne Crane.

Kenzo looked at Xiao Feng while he waited for his plate. It's shocking; he looks even shorter in person. So, this is the leader of the Blue Dragons? Hehe, I expected some big guy, not this little dude. Well, focus, Kenny, you don't have to underestimate your future enemies.

Kenzo turned to see the other man, Zhang. He could expect to fight him sooner or later, but even so, he looks stronger than Xiao Feng, not physically, but more spiritually. He doesn't know how to confirm this, but he's somewhat sure of it. What problem are these people going to do now? Man... I'm not in the mood nor the place for a fight.. Suddenly, Kenzo got a "question" in his mind, another word for "breaking the silence."

"Hey, mister Shimazu, do you serve good food here?" Everyone shifted their gaze towards Kenzo, he looked around as if on this, "What? I'm not sure about what that hoshi lady said." He smirked while asking this.

While the Delgatos considered her offer, Keyrs made another mental note regarding her tech: Consider remote-controlled wrist-- mental impulse controlled wrist discs. Perhaps she should have been thinking what she would do if this all went sideways.

Thankfully, it didn't.

At the leader's response of the boss being in the market for someone who "knows their way around tech", Keyrs flashed a smile that quite plainly said: 'well I'm that someone!'

A second mental sigh was breathed -or maybe not quite so mental- at the relent on the shopkeeper. He'd been the reason Keyrs did this ploy in the first place. A partially awkward partially reassuring grin was flashed his way, and Keyrs was just on the cusp of pushing her luck with a request when the Delgato leader motioned for her to head out. His accompanying "we'll drive you" was the final quash to her impulse. Third mental sigh, this one not of relief but disappointment. I guess no solar crisps and soda for me. Unless they have a vending machine at their haunt.

"Excellent," Keyrs responded, while she proceeded out at a gradual pace. Very gradually loosening her folded arms to lower them to her sides. "I knew Anthony was no slouch in the brains department."

"I'm Santa Claus." Nancy sarcastically replied. She could only assume that the newbie must've been the thugs' boss, or at least one of them. Keeping track of the 70th wasn't much of importance to Nancy, after all. "I'm here to bring coal to bad children, obviously."

The exosuit crossed its arms, while glowing eyes tracked the woman as she moved. First, she checked on the crook that Nancy had just pummeled, and then put herself between Nancy and the other thugs. Someone had a death wish, it seemed, as she tried to reason with Nancy to leave before there was "trouble".

"Cutting into the wrong business?" Nancy responded. "Oh, I don't care that you're robbing a bank. I've got bigger fish to fry than you all. But people are at risk, so I can't exactly ignore that. You should know how it goes."

As usual, pleas and promises fell upon deaf ears when it came to crime. Still ready to fight, the exosuit was sent charging towards the woman. Shiny red, mechanical claws moved outwards, attempting to grapple and throw the woman into the crooks behind her. Best to take out three birds with one stone, Nancy figured.

Canis-V spoke with the Security Personnel about Eta, but had been told to wait. On it's way into the building Canis-V's sensor suite picked up a hazard warning for broken glass in the building. It approached the hazard and ran an scan with it's sensor suite, picking up patterns in the broken glass and dirt on the floor that form a boot print. Canis-V recorded it's visual data and set a subroutine to measure out the exact shape and size of the boot print as it moved on. Approximately one point six eight meters away a smear of blood ran from the base of the Skylight, further into the building. Not enough to indicate a direction, but enough to indicate that whoever had been hurt here was hurt after breaking into the building, not before.

As it was beginning to run the blood splatter through a different subroutine it noticed damage to the adjacent western facing wall. As it approached it's scan indicated debris lodged in the mortar between bricks. Canis-V leaned it's head over the broken bit of brick wall and a Sensory suite scan later, it indicated an arrow-shaft lodged into the wall. The angle would indicate it came from the same direction as skylight that had been shattered inward. The angle also indicated that it had to have been loosed from inside the building, not outside. So, the arrow had not been used to break in.

Yet another subroutine was spun off to analyze the evidence it had scanned from what was obviously turning out to be a crime scene. It continued to scan the environment, but nothing new had been uncovered in the minute or so it took Canis-V to coalesce the information into a dossier fit for any court room, along with comprehensive notes on the math behind how it got it's results. The final scenario came together as Canis-V took a fraction of a second to review it's work.

The boot was a combat model that Canis-V could pinpoint the company of make, but it was fairly popular with mercenaries and private security so, no chance of ID from purchase tracking. At least not without it's cyber warfare module. It's length and width matched a combat boot in the company's female section, a perfect match for a size seven women's. Unfortunately, there was only the one boot print, or Canis-V could get a possible height and weight. As it was, the intruder could have been any height.

The blood spatter came back with results that were unsurprising. Whoever had broken in here had gotten into a fight with someone else. The arrow in the adjacent wall indicated that whoever had broken in had used a bow of some fashion and was either a terrible shot, or had been in active combat. Evidence was pointing to the later. Once it's analysis was done it walked back out to the front to talk with the security personnel.

"Hello, was there any passdown of an altercation last night? was one of our personnel hurt?"

The man who Canis-V had Just silently walked up to almost jumped out of his skin as a six foot tall robot seemingly appeared right next to him.

"Fucking christ, where did you come from? How the hell are you so quiet?"

"I do not need to breathe or have bodily functions, I was inside the warehouse, and was there any passdown of an altercation with one of our personnel last night?"

The man sighs and runs a hand across his face. "No, nobody was hurt last night."

Canis-V thought about it's answer for a moment before replying, "Unfortunate. Thank you, and have a good day."

The security personnel's face scrunched up in confusion as Canis-V walked back into the building to wait for it's assessment to begin. It would forward the Dossier to Mr. Wolfe when he got there. It was troubling that there was no altercation with security personnel last night because that would mean there wasn't one break in last night, there were two.

Ken Shimazu, Zhang Taiwu

The Lucky Noodle, Little Asia

“A fair question,” Shimazu couldn’t hide that he was taken off balance by the young man’s question. By now, the Lucky Noodle’s reputation had grown enough that the question was seldom asked even out on the streets. True to form, however, he reaffirmed his footing. “My staff and I certainly do our best. In the end, you’ll have to defer to your own judgement.” Shimazu began to turn away from the young man when his name was spoken. His one-eighty became a three-sixty that pulled him face-to-face with none other than Xiao Feng, and another familiar face.

“Xiao Feng,” Shimazu offered a respectful bow of his head, but extended no air of pleasantry. His jovial disposition melted into a formal expression. He assumed a stance as if anticipating a confrontation, his hands held readily at his side. “Taiwu,” he made no gesture to the man at Xiao Feng’s side, besides a staccato nod of acknowledgement; his gaze upon Taiwu was, if anything, colder than that which he set upon Xiao Feng.

“It’s been a while, Shimazu.” Taiwu snarled, returning the cold disposition twofold, punctuating it with the faintest of flames that seemed to come from his jaw line.

“And upon what occasion do you and your boss honor my establishment with your presence?”

“We stand on matters of business. No more. No less.”

“Then by all means,” Shimazu gestured for Xiao Feng to join him at an empty table nearest the kitchen. He stood himself on the side of the table facing the entrance. “No need to make a show of it. Have a seat.” Shimazu, ever the gracious host, remained standing, ushering for Xiao Feng to be seated first. He gave a quick look around the shop, noticing the tension among the customers. He caught Hoshi’s eye as she passed by; with a gesture of his hand, he eased her concerns. With a knowing nod around the dining room, he urged her to assure the patrons that there was no need for worry; she returned his nod, and carried on business as normal.

“Can I interest you in anything?” He directed his attention back to Xiao Feng. “My kitchen can make us a pot of tea to discuss matters over.”

Meanwhile, Taiwu gave a cursory glance around the restaurant. He locked eyes with a small huddle of Blue Dragons sitting near the entrance. “I’ll watch the door,” he assured Xiao Feng. He leaned against the counter separating the dining room from the kitchen, and continued to survey the room. The young man Shimazu had been speaking with, and a woman enjoying a dish of Dan Dan Noodles, had a particular draw on his focus. He passed stares between the two as if to say “give me a reason.”

Theresa Torres

Bank, Financial District

“Pfff! A smartass, huh?” Theresa scoffed at the snide retort from the whatever it was. “Don’t care much for smartasses.” She took her stance, poised to respond to whatever the machine did. But her focus was thrown off when a trio of her cohorts ran in from the hallway. “The f*ck? I TOLD YOU TO--”

She didn’t finish her sentence, as the sound of metal feet bounding towards her brought her back to the problem at hand. Theresa braced for a strike from the metal hand, but instead felt the grasp of its fingers. She pressed her strength against the machine’s force, but it was too late to keep herself from being lobbed towards the wall behind her. She broke the impact as best she could, splaying her arms behind her. In the process she knocked over the 70s that had come in. “The f*ck is with all the throwing lately?” she spat out.

Stepping out from the shallow imprint was left within the wall, Theresa brushed the dust from her shoulders. “Grab Mendes and get out of her,” she ordered her ‘brothers.’ They were slow to move, but did as they were told, grabbing the downed member of their crew and dragging him towards the hall and away from the scene. “Your fight is with me now,” she said bluntly. She cracked her knuckles, walking, at first, casually closer to the mecha. With her last few steps, the strength she mustered pushed through her legs, sprinting her forward at speed over the short distance.

In the final bounding step, she reached for the suit's arm. Her hands made to grip with clamping force. Her intent to return the favor with a spin and a throw into the opposite wall.

Katherine Tran

Veridian Technologies, Executive Suite

KT wasn’t kept waiting for very long. Five or ten minutes after she arrived on the Executive level, she heard a familiar voice. KT was on her feet instantly. She exchanged the brief embrace with her best friend and followed her through to her office. "If it's not too much to ask," she said to the offer of food; if it was anything like the 'old' days, the Veridian Tech cafe was as good as, if not better than, any restaurant in the city. "Just something light."

She looked once around the office and nodded and grinned. "You've really made it for yourself here," she said. "How has your mother been?"

Julia Kray

Location: The Melting Pot, Eastern Nighthaven, Paragon City
@Tally Dor@Nallore

Julia was ready to go and talk to who she assumed was the hotel's manager. She'd get somewhere to sleep. And tomorrow, well rested, clean and refreshed, she could start looking for a proper place to rest, buy a phone, and look into what to do for a living from now on. She was already walking towards him when her enhanced hearing picked up very, very faint sounds of a scream of distress. It wasn't anywhere that close by, and it probably wasn't any of her business. But she remembered the meeting she had just witnessed. What if that scream came from that kid?

Julia's stomach turned. Images of her own childhood flashed in her mind. Fighting Superheroes when she was eleven. When she was twelve. Thirteen...Kids shouldn't get dragged into this world. They deserve to have time to just be kids. They can mess up their lives when they're old enough, but until them, it's the duty of society to give them a little time where the world is just a little less shitty. She clicked her tongue and set off in a scurrying sprint towards where she heard the scream.

When she got closer, she was able to deduce more of the situation. The identity of the screamer was too old to be the target. She donned her goggles once again, and scanned nearby for any thermal reading matching the proportions and strange coldness of the demon-looking man. She found him, inside an upstairs bedroom, searching through it. This must be the target's house. Entering it would be a bad idea but through her long career as an informant and spy, Julia knew there were many ways to find information. Disregarding the front door entirely, Julia removed her goggles and approached the house. She opened the letterbox and sorted through the letters. The surname was 'Crane'. The first names that appeared on the junk mail would be the homeowners aka the parents. So any other names that had letters addressed to them might be the kid. It would help to know their gender but Julia couldn't have stuck around to hear more of the meeting. She'd been discovered. Just by being nearby, the two of those people had been able to sense her...

Prescence...

'Crap.'

@Tally Dor @Silver Carrot As soon as The Weeping picked up the Student ID of Madalyne Crane the pendant started to glow once more and started to point towards the window if the Weeping moved closer to the window it would start to point westward. With the next clue in hand on where to go for his prey she could possibly be at school now it was school hours now currently anyway. As Julia went to investigate the mailbox in order to find the residence of the home.

There she would find some bills to the house, in the name of Julia and Martin Crane, however there was another letter with a letter from the school with the Paragon City Academy emblem on the edge of the envlope addressed to a Madalyne Crane. There was a sound of a police car driving with sirens going off and stopped about two houses down, the woman that The Weeping heard and Julia saw was approaching one of the officers to talk to them. While the other officer went to canvas the area he would approach Julia. "Ma'am did you see anyone suspicious walking by?" He asked her.

@Kuro Nancy was thrown through the wall and onto the main bank floor now which was now empty the 70 Streeters were quickly scrambling into the back in order to get their boss and warn her that trouble was quickly brewing. And to make matters even worse the sounds of several police sirens were going off. They were quickly running out of time right now, over in the vault room the bank manager was opening the vault now using his combination code. "Good." Valentina said as she quickly slammed the manager's head against the wall of the vault knocking him out.

"Ma'am we need to get what we can and bug out the police are coming, and we got some robo chick Theresa is going toe to toe with right now." One of them said as Valentina sighed slightly she went and grabbed a cart and started to grab various sacks of money, the bank was about to get transfer some money out later that day. Valentina quickly ordered her people to grab what they could before leaving and heading up meeting up with Theresa. "We are getting what we need out now." Valentina said as the rest of the gang were getting ready to head out and make their way towards their getaway truck as the sirens started to get even louder.

@Araby264 There was a moment before the manager of the warehouse saw and overheard the conversation between Canis-V and their hired security from Veridian Tech HQ and approached. "Though we already have the cops what had happened last night some Delgatos managed to get in trying to steal some tech." The manager said he was a man in his mid to late forties as he pulled out his phone and started to bring up the camera feed from last night. "The vigilante Artemis apparently was in the nieghborhood or something, and saw them and quickly took them out." He said to Canis-V.

In the feed it was around midnight on the timestamp on the top righthand corner of the feed of the rooftop, it showed a figure feminine in stature. Though the face was obscured by a hood and a face mask hiding their face from getting a prober ID which was what Artemis usually wore. She aimed her bow and let it fly through the skylight, the camera feed quickly switched to the scene where the arrow had managed to graze one of the Delgatos in the shoulder and into the wall. Then Artemis grappling in and managing to knock out the one she had hit, while getting hit in the back with a bat by the other Delgato and the fight going on for a few more seconds as Artemis managed to subdue the other. She managed to grapple out of the scene just as the police arrived on scene as well.

@Master EffeX "I'm sure the boss will like what you have to offer." He said as the leader opened the door for Tronical to enter first, the other Delgato went and got into the driver side while the leader got into the back with her. Then his phone started to go off he sighed slightly as the driver started up the car and headed its way towards the Financial District. "Are you serious?" He said though Tronical wouldn't be able to hear what was being said on the other line.

"Of course Artemis would ruin our operation last night." He said as he looked at Tronical for a moment. "Yeah we'll take care of it." He said on the other end before hanging up the phone turning to her. "How do you feel about getting your hands a little bit dirty? Think of it as a little test of your fighting skills." He said as he pulled up a feed of the Paragon Police Precinct HQ. "We have two of our guys in questioning due to a failed operation last night, we need you to either get them out or silence them." He said looking at her before speaking again. "If you do this quick little job you are on board if you are intrested, the pay is great."

Diana Smith

Diana smiled as she sat down and started to put in their usual order. "Sushi work for you right?" Diana asked as she sent the message through down to the cafe. "I'm just temporary CEO right now but my mom is doing pretty good she's down in Shanghai right now with some investors or something." Diana said to KT as she leaned back slightly in her hair wincing slightly as she stretched from the injuries the night before.

"How about you, whats new with you?" Diana asked her best friend as she started to pull something out and then gave her an a executive level pass for the top floor. "Here by the way this way it'll give you access to this floor you don't have to go through security anymore just flash them the badge and it'll let you through." Diana said and smiled slightly. "Also easy access to my private labs for you know what we do later." Diana said to KT she trusted her with her secret along with Wolfe.

Madalyne Crane

Location: Little Asia, The Lucky Noodle, Paragon City
Skills: N/A

Xiao Feng would return the slight bow to Shimazu as he followed him over towards the table that was closest to the kitchen. "Some tea would be nice." Xiao Feng said as he leaned back slightly in his seat, and started to speak in a normal tone that people nearby could pick up easily. "As you know with the continued fighting between us and the Seventy Streeters just down the road here." Xiao Feng said gesturing to outside the store the boarder between the districts was very close to the Lucky Noodle.

"Valentina has become gotten bolder lately taking a block here or two there. I am simply here to offer some protection from the encroaching Seventy Streeters here and damaging your beautiful shop." He said as Hoshi approached with his tea. "You won't have to pay tribute or anything your establishment is very popular here and we would like to keep it safe."

Madalyne was quietly eating her meal she looked over at the corner of the store where Xiao Feng and Shimazu were talking amongst themselves only picking up bits and pieces of their conversation. She knew a little bit about Xiao Feng and knew that he was the leader of the Blue Dragons and that was about it. Her eyes turned to Zhang seeing the look that he was giving her which she didn't really like as small slightly green magical electricity left her fingertips. She knew a little bit of self-defense as well as her magical abilities in a fight to if Zhang got confrontational.

Z E R O - Z E R O
Z E R O - Z E R O

Location: Financial District, Paragon City
Skills: Pulse Blasters

The 70th street woman had been sent flying through the air. She crashed into a wall, sending dust and debris up in a cloud. As the peons fled, or rather were ordered to, the scene, Nancy prepared herself for her opponent's next move. She proceeded to dig Zero-Zero into the ground, cracking the expensive, tiled floor as its feet mandibles latched onto the ground to better brace itself against an incoming attack.

"Huh. That usually works." Nancy nonchalantly commented. She could notice the woman's newfound anger in her tone, and began to consider her other options. "Guess I'll have to try something else."

Before she could, however, Nancy was beat to the punch. The woman, having seemingly shaken off the previous throw, sprinted forward, and latched onto Zero-Zero's arm. In kind, Nancy was uprooted from the ground, and thrown into the opposite wall. She landed on the main floor of the bank, the brunt of the attack leaving her reeling but still combat capable.

ALERT. MINOR DAMAGE TO UNIT. SUGGEST USE OF PULSE WEAPONRY.

Machinery clanked, stirring to life from a lengthy rest. Robotic parts shifted in place, twisting and turning as the command ran through the exosuit's system. Hidden components appeared from beneath the surface, revealing a pair of powered pulse cannons.

"Fine," Nancy responded, indulging her opponent's challenge. "Let's end this now."

Intense heat began to expunge from the exosuit. A swirl of vibrant orange appeared in the center of the blasters. Locking onto her target, Nancy aimed the blasters through the hole she had been thrown through, and began to fire away at the woman.

The Weeping

Location: Madalyne Crane's room, Eastern Nighthaven, Paragon City
@Silver Carrot@Nallore

As the Weeping finished the chocolate bar, his attention shifted to a nearby wall. His head tilted slightly as his orangish eyes narrowed for a second as he tried to make sense of the flickering blue upon it before his eyes widened in realization. Glancing out the window he saw the cop cars and as he took in the entirety of what he could see on the street a frown formed on his lips.

There she was again. At the mailbox. Was she Amara's lapdog? Or better question how was she managing to follow him? He could feel intense rage from the spirits. It was like a hot sweltering feeling rising in his chest. The fury was all directed towards the blonde by the mailbox. Nigel could almost feel the spirits attempting to move his body towards her, but he shook his head managing to sway them by thinking of the police.

He could feel the heat in his chest. That overwhelming fury starting to be restrained by his logic, but every time his eyes wandered over to Julia, he could feel it spiking ever so slightly. As he tore his eyes away from the window, he jerked back in surprise. During his brief internal struggle there was a massive five-pronged gash in the wall now. His claws still coated in dry wall dust.

A sigh escaped his lips. So much for having left no evidence of his search. The Weeping took one final glance outside the window at Julia. Memorizing her features. Soon he knew he'd have to deal with her one way or another. Pulling the amulet back out of his pocket he turned westward and briskly walked into the shadows.

Stepping out of a shadow a few houses down in someone's fenced backyard. He breathed a small sigh of relief. His powers were nothing if not convenient, though even they had limits. He soon discovered as he reached a major hurdle. The bridge that ran across river. The shadows were limited here, and the walkers and cars might see him going between them.

Pulling the brim of the fedora down to cover his eyes more and keeping his head turned downward slightly he began his walk across the bridge.

T r o n i c a l
T r o n i c a l

Location: Fluid - Delgato Gang Car

Keyrs smiled in a self-satisfied way before getting into the car and situating herself both comfortably and safely - seatbelt on. Though, she did casually keep her hand near the seatbelt disconnect mechanism should she need to make a quick escape.

And that was feeling all the more prudent as the leader looked at her while carrying on his phone conversation. I mean whatever operation ruinings this Artemis fellow caused couldn't possibly have an impact on her present arrangement, but one could never be entirely sure. They could need to make some rapid change of plans of which she couldn't be privy and be about to boot her from the car themselves.

As it turned out, they were roping her in tighter.

Colour Keyrs intrigued.

"I prefer to keep my hands clean, but that's what the tech is for," Keyrs responded, having the impulse to lace her fingers together and stretch them out/crack her knuckles in a forward motion, though she and the Delgatos were still only on "just met" terms and she didn't think being free with sudden hand movements was quite the thing to do yet. "Any preference on which?" she asked on the "get them out or silence them" bit, her disposition indeed conveying interest -and ease.

Getting them out sounded most appealing to her, a trickier puzzle -Keyrs wagered- than merely scrapping them. But if the leader preferred the other route, well, they were "do-badders", weren't they? Getting them off the streets permanently wouldn't register on her conscious.

Even if it did. . .her methods would be on the merciful side of the scale, simply because she was efficient like that. Leaving people to suffer? How uncouth.

C A N I S - V
C A N I S - V

Location: Veridian Technologies' Warehouse Five, Greyport, Paragon City

Camis-V nodded it's head after the warehouse manager's explanation and made sure to save the footage for further review. once it had done this, it turned to the manager and said,"Thank you, I will mention this security breach with the CEO during my combat review. Please be sure to keep the warehouse more secure in the future. Have a good day."

With this Canis-V returned to the area where it was designated to wait for it's review and continued to ponder what it had learned. To anyone else the machine would appear inactive, but in reality it was running simulations of the break in in it's head. What had the intruders been here to steal? Would they return? Why did the warehouse manager seem to think that this 'Artemis' intervention was a good thing? On the topic of Artemis, why would she break the law to stop the other intruders? Wouldn't the correct thing to do be calling local law enforcement? Then again maybe there was no point in pondering the question. She had trespassed on Veridian Technologies property and would now have to be apprehended and serve jail time.

As time dragged on Canis-V continued to think, maybe it could catch this Artemis and be released from it's preliminary status. A known trespasser and vandal would be a good place to start for showing it's worth to Ms.Smith and Mr.Wolfe. They had specified that it's first assignment would be to protect Veridian Technologies property. As a Plan quickly formed in it's mind Canis-V was finally alerted when Dr.Michail entered the warehouse with it. It simply nodded to him, and he smiled, relieved the machine had made it with no issues, and they both sat in companionable silence until it was time to begin the assessment.

Julia Kray

Location: The Melting Pot, Eastern Nighthaven, Paragon City
@Tally Dor@Nallore

The moment she heard the sirens, Julia put the letters back. She had all the informationshe needed. Though she still smelled the same scentof blood as the warehouse, it was no longer fresh. Nobody had been hurt inside that house. She still couldn't escape the feeling that there was killing intent directed at her. As she thought, that monster could sense her. She'd need to be careful going forward. She hoped the approaching police would deter a confrontation.

Julia gave her (fabricated) statement to the police. That she'd seen a tall figure with white skin and face tattoos in the area in passing. Hopefully that would line up with other people's testimonies and they'd be satisfied. She was thankfully correct and the police left Julia alone. The killing intent and smell of blood were both gone. Whick meant that there wasn't going to be a fight. It also meant that the monster had found a lead that Julia had no access to. Theonly lead she currently had was Madelyn's school. With nothing else to go on, Julia began walking in the direction, keeping an eye out for any bus stops. She could likely scurry there as fast as a bus, factoring in the stop time, but she wanted to conserve her energy.

@Tally Dor The Weeping would find himself on the southernmost bridge leading from the Financial District of Paragon City towards Riverside, it was more where the middle class usually lived. There was luckily a sidewalk alongside the bridge as commuters went on about their day. There was a few large vehicles like trucks and busses driving past towards Riverside where he could use his ability to travel along with the shadows until they were off the bridge. The little amulet that Amara had given him was still glowing westward towards Paragon City Academy was located still.

@Silver Carrot The police officer took a moment to look at Julia before accepting her story Julia would catch a glimpse of the Weeping briefly in the upstairs window before disappearing. "Thank you for your time ma'am." The officer said as he backed off and headed to get his partner. Who was checking out the Crane residence, they didn't see any signs of a break in or anything strange they didn't have the authority to enter the house either without a warrant either so their hands were tied for now as they headed back to the woman, and they talked briefly before heading off again. The only lead Julia had right now was Paragon City Academy and the name of the student that was on the letter as well to luckily for Julia there was a bus stop nearby that would take her directly to Paragon City Academy as one of it's stops. And it would come on time as well to, and unloaded it's passengers and then a new set of passengers started to board.

@Kuro Nancy's charged weapon ended up completely missing it's mark and landed into a nearby wall harmlessly, as the police sirens became even louder now. Valentina turned to glare at Theresa with a slightly annoyed look seeing her still fighting against the suit of armor, before calling out to her again. "Hurry up and get over here or we are leaving without you, and the Pit is not a fun place to stay in trust me!" Valentina yelled to Theresa to either wrap it up or get in as she helped getting the last of the goods that they had taken from the bank vault and quickly made her way towards the truck's cab getting inside and started up the engine. Just as the first police car arrive on scene now just across the street.

@Araby264 Canis would notice a police detective that had just arrived onto the scene holding out her badge towards one of the warehouse workers when the same manager approached sounding a little bit annoyed. "My crew and I already gave you all our side and what we saw last night." The manager said looking at her slightly annoyed as the detective looked at him for a moment showing a calm demeanor still. "I know just here to do one last sweep for evidence since Artemis was here I have been assigned to her case for awhile now." She said as the manager grumbled slightly before allowing her into the warehouse again. "Have at it there isn't much left." He said as the detective nodded and headed towards the scene again, she bent over checking the hole where the arrow was embedded in and pulled it out she inspected it before putting it into an evidence bag Canis could probably ask more about the case she was working on.

@Master EffeX "If you wanna get your hands dirtier feel free to eliminate them, or break in and get them out either way we don't want them talking to the cops at all. We just want them out of the police station so whatever your preferred method is go for it." The leader said as they slowly started to come to a stop just a block away from the Paragon City Police Precinct. There was a few officers leaving the front entrance from their view point and going on about their day. "So what did you wanna do get your hands dirty or use them fancy tech you got?" They asked her.

A few minutes later there was someone at the door as Diana got up from her desk and made her way over towards the door. "Thank you." Diana said paying the person bringing their food before closing it they were in containers as well to. "So want to take this food and head out? I can have Wolfe meet us at the front." Diana said she still had to take care of the whole thing with Canis-V.

"I kinda have to do stuff at one of our warehouses." Diana motioned for her to follow as she took out her phone and started to send a text to Wolfe. 'We are ready to head for the warehouse for Canis-V if you can meet us up front?' Diana texted him as she looked at KT motioning for her to follow and headed over towards the elevator back down to the lobby.

"Oh. Of course." Maybe a bit flustered by the sudden pace change, KT fixed the access badge to the right side of her chest, and collected the shrimp tempura roll she had ordered for. She hurried after Diana, slipping into through the elevator door just as it closed. "Pedal to the metal as ever with you." She smiled at her friend as she caught her breath a bit. "Not sure how I ever kept up with you through high school," she chuckled. "Anyways, I still have your, mostly, undivided attention." She turned with a more business-like expression. "The reason for me coming here today: I was hoping you could help me find work. I'm fresh out of college, and need to start making ends meet as soon as possible."

Horace J. Wolfe

Bzzzz.

Horace's phone vibrated against the side of his leg. "Hold on," he said to the assistant awaiting him with a folder labeled "CLASSIFIED" clung in his hands like a pearl necklace. "From Diana Smith," he said aloud so the others on detail knew it was serious. "I'll be off-premises until 18:00," he announced. "Don't contact unless it's an emergency. Kirk is in charge until I return for the final sweep before night shift. Harl," he raised a hand to the assistant with the folder, "leave it at my desk and I'll look at it when I return." The young assistant's face faded into dissappointment and dejection.

Wolfe turned and departed the security HQ.

Affirmative. Will meet you in the Atrium.

Theresa "Toro" Torres

70th Street Bank Heist

The suit crashed through the wall and into the front side of the bank on Theresa's throw. Kicking out chunks of the now-broken wall, Theresa stepped through hole as the mecha reared back up and dug in. Theresa followed suit, bracing herself for another bout of Human vs. Machine. She didn't need any warning when the mech's next weapon revealed itself. The sight of the orange light set The Bull of 70th Street into motion. The wave of heat rippled behind her as she dove for cover behind a countertop island of withdrawl & deposit forms. Checking around the island's corner, she spotted Valentina and the rest of their crew making a run for the truck with what spoils they could carry.

"Right. Time to bounce."

Theresa sprung out from behind the island, and slid in behind another one equidistant between the broken wall of her doing and the one the truck had crashed through. She punched and open hand up, breaking the marble countertop from the island and split off a sizeable chunk of it. Sprinting from her cover to the passenger door of the truck, she flung the chunk of marble like a frisbee in the direction of the suit, aiming to knock its legs, or at least distract it, as she and the 70th Street crew made their get away.
