C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T ___________________________________________________________________________________ You all know I like to try different things in these games these days. I like to experiment with different themes and stories. The one trait I have always followed is my desire to do proper capeshit. Largely Sci-Fi based. This time, we're going in the other direction. Do I need to spell out the exact origin? Frank Castle was raised, joined the military, served in practically every theatre of combat, and eventually became a training officer stateside. Until one day he's sat with his family at a local park having a picnic, where they are caught in the crossfire of a Mafia battle. His family die before his eyes, and a court case prevents him from being deployed. The guilt and the rage eat away at him; the perps walk free on a technicality. The Punisher is born. The Punisher tears through the criminal underworld. Some brand him a vigilante, others a murderer; the authorities call him a terrorist. He singlehandedly tears through the crime family that killed his family in cold blood, then, in the wake of 9/11 he disappears to the Middle East. His sightings inconsistent. Some American Soldiers claim to have been saved by him in the last second in a particularly harrowing ambush, then a week later, miles away, he volunteers to defend a girls' school from insurgents until backup arrives. Occasionally, an allied soldier is killed, but before a manhunt can ensue, evidence is discovered of their abuse and wrongdoing. All sightings end as Frank is recruited to Task Force X, until one day. He has finally had enough, and he retires. Amanda Waller tries to convince him to stay, but fails to intimidate him. The Punisher is doomed to the pages of history, or so he believed. I have a story planend out in my head, I have story beats and I have little tracks I'm going to go down in the process of telling that wider arching story. Frank is retired, his family, military life and Task Force X days are all behind him, or so he feels. I can't add too much to the backstory due to how I want to tie things in and together, so I hope what I have given is enough to whet some appetites. I will be open to interaction, and all the issues doing so with Punisher includes.

C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T ___________________________________________________________________________________ For a long time I've been pondering how to adapt an Invincible concept to these games while also maintaining the DC/Marvel focus they tend to have. Right now seems like a pretty good time to attempt this balance given the more varied concepts this game as well as the nice gaps people have left with their concepts I can fill in. With many of Kirkman's concepts being 'how he would do x hero team' I felt replacing the Teen Team with the actual Teen Titans (or just Titans in this case) worked well, with a combination of their Invincible comic characters and Titans team members. Given the Bat related sheets have steered clear of defining anything for Nightwing I don't think this should be treading on any toes, but as with anything, happy to change to accommodate. It's definitely a bigger supporting cast than I am used to defining but I'm trying to push myself a bit more with this one. Mark Grayson grew up knowing his father was one the most powerful hero on the planet, and for a long time that felt like a gift. Then his own powers emerged and the gift came with weight: expectations, comparisons, and a world already full of legends. He has been Invincible for a few years now — long enough to have earned his name and the attention of the GDA, not long enough to feel certain about any of it. Mark Grayson is nineteen, about to start college, and increasingly aware that more established heroes, most notably the Titans, seem to have already figured out things he hasn't. He hasn't committed to the them, or indeed any other formal institution; he tells himself it's about freedom, but some of it is about not wanting to be seen as a sidekick to his own era. His Viltrumite heritage is, to him, simply the reason his dad is strong and he is too. He has no knowledge of the Viltrum Empire, no sense of the ancient divergence from the ancient proto-Kryptonian spacefaring civilisation, and no idea that his father is anything other than the hero he presents as. That unknowing is the quiet fault line running under everything. The story is about what happens when the ground starts to shift. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) __________________________________________________________________________________ The immediate arc centres on Mark beginning university while navigating an increasingly complex heroic landscape. The GDA's sponsorship of the Titans puts him in proximity to Cecil Stedman — a man whose methods he already finds uncomfortable. The Titans themselves represent a kind of peer pressure: join, contribute, commit. Mark wants to do things his way, which is half principle and half the fact that he genuinely doesn't know what his way is yet. As Kryptonians exist in this setting I think the best way to merge the existence of Kypton and Viltrum to an extent. Viltrum was an off shoot of the ancient Kryptonian spacefaring society (in the vein of Last Days of Krypton) before they self-isolated themselves, and have developed significantly differently in the time apart. They would not have been aware of each other due to the vast span of time involved and efforts by both to eradicate complicated history. I am more than happy to change this based on feedback from relevant parties but it seemed a reasonable mystery I could eventually explore. The shadow of Omni-Man underlies everything. Nolan is managing his own crisis of faith alongside a calculated patience, and Mark is the unwitting variable in both. The goal is not to rush that revelation but to seed it — through Mark's growing discomfort with his father's certainty, through encounters that Nolan handles in ways that don't quite add up. This is notably later than this occurs in the show or comics, as I would like to tell that story without making it an established part of the game's lore, as well as the presence of something of the big hitters of DC and Marvel provide a fairly compelling reason for Nolan to delay any attempts he has to co-opt his son into his grand schemes

Outside of throwing a wrench in the Nightwing plans, I have a couple of other reservations:

- Invincible, as a series, in general has a penchant for massive destruction and loss of life. Especially where Omni-Man and the Viltrumites are concerned. In comparison, in my experience at least, rarely do DC/Marvel comics actually focus on the same scale of destruction. So I guess my first question is, how do you intend to translate these larger-scale fights into the game and deal with the repercussions of them?

- Viltrumites as Proto-Kryptonians. What does this mean? How does this affect Viltriumites as a whole? Are they the same as they are in 'Invincible' but with flavour text, or do they now also have the same abilities and weaknesses as Kryptonians?

-If the Viltrumites don't have the same weaknesses as Kryptonians, how do you intend to incorporate them in such a way that they're scaled appropriately to the game's cast? How big an ambition do you have for bringing Viltrumites to Earth? Or how big of a threat is Omni-Man going to be? Keeping in mind, during the opening arc of Invincible, he eradicated his version of a Justice League.

- The Titans battling a villain named Titan? That won't get confusing to read lol.

Responding in my own paragraphs that arent 1 to 1 for any points except the last one.

- Part of the adaption to the Marvel/DC focused setting is to generally avoid the amount of mass casualty events that seem to crop up every other tuesday in Invincible (especially when the storylines are condensced like in the show). I would choose between adapting larger events i.e Flaxan Invasions as collaborations with people so that the impact of such things can be properly reflected or just not do them. There's plenty of non-end of the world events in the earlier volumes of Invincible to pull from, as well as interacting with the non-Invincible aspects of the world which is part of the fun of the whole crossover thing.

- The connection to Proto-Krypton came out of a concern for me of just explaining their similarities in setting. Given the vast spans of time Last Days of Krypton deals with when it comes to Kryptonian History I don't think it neccesitates their power set being Kryptonian. It's more than just flavour tex,t in that I could see it being a thread to pull down the line with Kryptonian lore, but its not designed to fundementally change either. I feel this sort of answers the scaling concern, given Kryptonians by and large have been shown to pull off far more fanciful feats than Viltrumites (punching through dimensions, moving planets without destroying them, holding up the metaphysical burden of creation etc). This was largely a point of adaptation though so I can just drop it from the concept if need be.

- Omni-man kills the Guardians of The Globe, but I wouldn't say the Guardians are on par with the bigs of DC and Marvel, which is the part of the logic mentioned in my sheet about why he hasn't attempted his takeover by this point as he would in the comics. The other being that I want to write a story in this crossover, not just rewrite Invincible, so Nolan is himself more troubled by the thought of doing the big evil. I would imagine it would still be a threat I'd want to collab with people if a similar-to-comics event did occur, but I don't see it being close to 'the rest of the world are powerless spectators to Mark and Nolan's fight.'

- I think if I ever did get round to writing other Viltrumites on Earth it would feature as more of a covert 'they walk among us' threat as opposed to trying to force everyone to play the lore of Invincible with me. More open interactions with Vultriumites I would keep to adventures far away from where they might break other people's toys.

- Regarding Titan, that is pretty funny I missed that. Along with Nightwing that's an edit I can easily make, I will probably just come up with a totally unique OC please don't steal name for the character.

There is a list of exceptions and no-gos on the OP. Beyond that, it's just a matter of critical thinking if a character meshes well.
