» Walter started out like many english majors, a fresh graduate from Columbia who had just written a lengthy thesis about the contrasting mysticism of Bataille and Tillich and their influence on Barthes, but was now tasked with finding a job. He became a reporter for the sports column, it was the only opening he could find with one of the national papers. During his years he got to know more about the world of professional wrestling, which got little coverage in major press, unlike other sports. His curiosity led him into an extensive research project about the life of Tanner Quinn. After several years, countless interviews, and many sleepless nights, he had compiled his work into an epic biography, titled The Path of Honor. It became a best-seller, and was one of the few works that revealed the business side of wrestling, penetrating beneath the layers of kayfabe.

With the success of his book, Walter chose not to go back to his newspaper job. Seeing the lack of media that treated wrestling seriously and reported on the stories behind the business, Walter launched a new magazine, The Wrestling Journal. It was popular enough around the nation and gained more respect than the kayfabe magazines, though still made him the butt of jokes with his literati friends. As times changed and the internet grew, he merged his magazine with the online content of The Smark Remark creating a partnership that would carry the Wrestling Journal into the new millennium and maintain its status as the industry’s most respected source of news and opinions.

» Walter dress formally, and loves his outdated style, especially houndstooth patterned blazers. He know he is old and doesn’t bother to hide it, and never kept up with fashion even in his youth. He always carries his notebook and voice recorder with him, ready to start work whenever inspiration hits.

» Walter is a methodical man, and even-tempered to a fault. He gets along well with nearly anyone, and likes long, involved discussions. As he is somewhat of an introvert, he prefers the company of a few close friends to being in a large crowd. When writing he prefers to be alone, and can work relentlessly when researching, so much so that his wife grows frustrated with him.

» Often loved and often hated, The Wrestling Journal is easily the most read magazine backstage. Obviously, Walter relies on some AWE personnel for many of his stories, but he is always careful to avoid disclosing those who wish to remain anonymous, and they do not advertise it. Because he holds himself to high standards on accuracy (avoiding the highly speculative rumors) and avoids spoiling too many of the plans, he enjoys a friendly relationship with Roddy and the rest of the main office.

» Alex got hired by AWE as a PR intern directly after graduating top of her class at University of Texas. The job paid well, so she figured she would hang out, pay her dues and then move on. Turns out, Alex was better at her job then even she expected. Her reputation for being a “real go getter and ball buster” propelled her into the lead PR position, and Alex found herself still attached to the AWE brand, 5 years later.

» Alexandra's style is professional, yet feminine. If she is on the job (whether that be backstage or at her desk) Alex can usually be found wearing work appropriate dresses or skirt suits. While not at work, Alex prefers soft and flowing fabrics over skin tight outfits. Her hair is normally styled into soft waves, and her makeup is always understated to highlight her natural beauty.

» Alex is strong willed and stubborn, and when she get's an idea into her head, she locks onto it. If you are opposing her, she will wear you down until you finally bend to her will. If you still refuse, she will move onto a direct personal assault, going right for the metaphorical jugular. Alexandra has ruined a few careers on her way to the top, and doesn't regret it a bit.

Speaking of ruining careers, her attitude has nearly ruined hers a few times. Alex has no problem voicing her opinion to her higher ups if she thinks they are making a mistake. This has gotten her a bit of a reputation for having a bit of a problem with authority. However, if she is wrong, she does know when to back off and apologize. Alex has been told more than once that she is lucky she is so damn good at her job.

Despite being a little overly vocal at times, most people who know Alex would also say she is quite even keeled. It takes a lot to rattle her, and she isn't easily intimidated by neither physical size nor industry clout. This helps her out with a lot of the male wrestlers, who have tried to rattle her cage for fun.

Above all else, Alex is dedicated to her job maintaining the image of the AWE brand. She has found enjoyment in the back and forth with other PR specialists in the field, and (mostly) enjoys the banter with the talent.

Oh, and she loves drinking wine. Seriously. Coffee helps her survive her days, but settling down with a glass of wine at night is what makes everything possible.

» Alexandra might be small, but she can (and will) go toe to toe with anyone threatening the integrity of AWE. » Kenny wrestles like a strong style wrestler, but with some high-flying luchadore style sprinkled in. He is afraid to start flying if the crowd wants something good. He's a very stiff, fundamental striker but is more than capable of pulling off extremely flashy and acrobatic moves if he needs to. Kenny loves to set up insane throws by softening up his target with a series of strikes before finally pulling off something you'd see in a kung fu movie. He is spectacular at selling moves, and prioritizes the safety of those in the ring with him.

» Kenny's gimmick is that he's Chinese. This allows him to channel the most iconic, relevant part of Chinese culture -- kung fu. This works in his favor because his English isn't too good (he can still sell a promo very well though), and holds himself as if an ancient kung fu warrior would. He tries his very best to be humble and grounded, trying to maintain a good image in order to appeal to AWE's Chinese fanbase. His attire and demeanor is an amalgamation of various kung fu icons such as Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Bruce Lee, etc. Most often he comes out shirtless with tight pants that are usually yellow with a black stripe running down the sides (paying homage to Bruce Lee's jumpsuit) and sometimes (like every three matches or so) he comes out with a bandanna to pay homage to Mortal Kombat's Liu Kang. Sometimes, if you're lucky enough, you can hear him making Bruce Lee noises.

» He's a cool dude, however he is rather shy because his English vocabulary isn't large enough to really communicate what he wants to say. He respects everyone in the AWE, whether or not they have feuds, and does not like to quarrel with people. He welcomes fans and is more than willing to interact with them so long as they treat him with the respect he feels he deserves. Sometimes he brings an interpreter, Clara, along to help him interact with his fellow wrestlers, but she's usually busy so he's stuck to communicating via gestures and using every single bit of knowledge he has regarding the English language. He has two Twitter accounts (one in English and one in Chinese), a Facebook page, and an Instagram account.

» Ax fights dirty. Using moves more suitable in a bar brawl than in a wrestling ring, Ax uses a whole armament of trickery and pushing the rules to the absolute limits to get his own way. A cunning use of brutal strikes to wear down his opponents before deploying his dishonest practices. A common sight is his girlfriend, Ari, will distract the opponent or referee to create an opportunity to gain the upper hand. Begging for mercy or pretending you're critically hurt then using a low blow, nothing strange to the Biker.

» Ajax "Ax" Flanagan portrays the character of a badass Biker Gang member who's American-Irish too. A brilliant heel who fans love to hate, especially when him and his girlfriend Ari Slayer, (who is the only person that can either calm him down or get him riled up if she gets hurt), are feuding with the "Top Couple" of Drayden and Barbie as Ajax truly believes that him and Ari should be the beloved couple of AWE. He's brutally cruel in the ring, and always tries to humiliates his opponents. It's especially fun to him to get heat when either him or Ari do a heel distraction or technique to gain the upper hand, which Ajax is not afraid of utilizing as much as possible.

His staple leather jacket always accompanies him in promos and entrances, and is usually wearing Balmain Jeans and black Motorcycle Boots. He's mostly always accompanied by Ari but is no slouch if she's not accompanied him in a match. His most eye catching part however, is the multitude of tattoos all over his body, turning his skin into a moving canvas. Sometimes he'll even ride out onto stage on his prized motorbike, a Harley Davidson Forty-Eight.

» Michael isn't as much of an asshole out of the ring. In fact, he's actually quite nice once you get to know him. The only things that stay the same between backstage and onstage is his love for Ari and his love for motorcycles. He's quite funny and doesn't mind talking about pretty much anything in and out of the ring. He hasn't got time for backstage politics but if he's dragged into it then don't complain when he fires back. He can have a temper, but it's mostly for boneheaded people who can't get their job done right. As for whether the onstage hatred for the current power couple of AWE is real or not, it's debatable. Most of the time he's chill with them, but no one knows for sure if there's a hint of truth when he cuts a promo against them.

Having held a passion and talent for music since he was a child, Harry contacted his sisters father in law, creator of the most legendary themes in all of wrestling, John Ginman about possibly interning at AWE. To his surprise the man said yes and Harry was on his way stateside. After a while, it became apparent that John was grooming Harry to takeover, which he promptly did two years ago.

» Harry is a quiet and somewhat reserved individual. He is not difficult to approach or talk to but it is quite difficult to get him to open up about himself.
