Yeah I been obsessively online looking for a TCG template without much success. Most of the templates want you to pay for them. Here I had this really cool idea to actually make it look like cards. And now I am either goin' to opt out of makin' cards. Or! Fuck 'round in Gimp.

Disclaimer: I have not participated in a card game-oriented RP in over a decade.

While my interest is piqued, I’d love to learn about your premise a bit more before I commit to anything. There’s also the case of my current RP loadout, personal drama that has taken me off RPG (in terms of IC activity) for a good month or so, and re-energizing a creative void. With that said, I’ve read a few of the card game RPs onsite in the past, but I’ve never vocalized interest to “dust the rust off” so to speak. So, yeah, you have my attention.

So are we going to be seeing mythic heroes in player decks? Like will Silverdawn be spawning Merlin or someshit? Because that kind of Fate Stay Night (but a card game?!?!) bullshit gets me all sort of tickled and excited.

You're always welcomed! I have a zero drama tolerance rule. I am a believer of compassion, and understanding. I rather people try to understand each other, then fight. There is no fun in fighting. Ruins the sport.

I was hoping the Warrior's of World End were things we made up in our own world. Rather than drawing exactly from history. I find that sort of thing kind of boring personally. But! I'm always willing to allow members to conjure up something. If it is done creatively of course I'll accept something like Merlin or Arthur or Robin Hood.

I would go with that personally. Inventing "Ancient heroes that changed the world through card magic only to be forgotten" feels more in keeping with the genre. Like how the none of the egyptian god cards in Yogioh were actual gods from mythology.

I get the gist that you want to create fictional heroes/icons/etcetera to be at the center of the game rather than follow the module of interpretation of historical myths. It’s good to discuss things like tone, themes, and so forth before going into a collaborative project. I still am not completely sure how the ‘game’ will function yet, so I should focus on understanding the game over defining sets and heroes. Though, how much do we, as a group, want to focus on the duels? I’ve seen several approaches to the genre where the out-of-duel interactions are more important as opposed to the “dueling” being the most principal important factor. Will this have a school setting or a tournament setting or somewhere in-between? What is the hook, what brings the protagonists together?

1) The setting will be somewhere in between. Take pacing from other card game animes. There will be slice of life moments where the students can have down time, have dates maybe. There will be tournament arcs. And maybe even some fantasy adventure moments as well as they try to uncover the mysteries of the World Ends.

2) What brings the protagonist together is that they all acquire in some mystery way a World of End card. They are a card that exist nowhere in the original print of the cards that currently exist. That have mystical powers. That tie to them an ancient tale. They will acquire a Warrior of World End as an alternative persona, like a ghost that takes over a host body when they duel or when there is an adventure that is going on or some kind of connection.

So you have somethings mixed around.

World of End cards are the Leader Cards

Warriors of End are the guardians who once held the leader cards

Warriors of End can be Humanoid if you like.

And I can make a lock down deck for you. No big deal. :)

World of End Cards will get more info here in a second. I am just workin' on lots of info.
