Hey guys and gals, wanted some opinions on this CS Template I just created.

Looking for thoughts on formatting, what I may be missing, or what I may have included that isn't necessary. I plan on using this sheet for Arena characters, but non-arena characters may work just fine with this as well.

If anybody is confused as to how I did something, feel free to look at the RAW. Thanks in advance!

@Bartimaeus The character sheet serves it's purpose, provided you want to know all that information. Most arena fighters are concerned with how your character fights. Things like who they are married to, who/what they want to have sex with, and what their fears are probably aren't important enough to warrant their own section. Some people will find fault with having so many hiders. I heard they are annoying to click on with mobile devices. If you want the character sheet to be smaller so that they can be more easily browsed in the character tab, you could just lump everything inside one hider. People are going to be most interested in what your character can do in combat, which is another reason not to keep that stuff in hiders. Not only that, but it's at the very bottom of the sheet, which is typically where you want your miscellaneous/unimportant stuff. I would consider simplifying the appearance and social behavior section to just a space where one can write a paragraph. If you really want everyone to know your character is married to a lesbian lizard goddess, you can include that in their history/bio section, which would be pretty low on the sheet.

From an aesthetic standpoint, it presents the information it wishes to convey. It's by no means the fanciest, but some people get so into making a CS that it's almost impossible to fill out and even harder to read once all the information is in place. Needless to say, that's kind of the opposite of what you want a CS to do.

If someone wanted to fight me in arena or have me fill this out before joining an RP, I wouldn't be deterred. It's not a bad sheet.

Oops, Arena Snow. x3 Posted this at 5am, so my coherency was not it's finest :p

I see your point, @BrokenPromise. I should emphasize the non-social aspects for an Arena sheet. I'll remove the hiders too, or put the social stuff under that, and below the Arena stuff. :3 THanks for the feedback.

On the contrary, I think you should just focus on one type of sheet. Making a sheet that contains a sweeping generalisation of every information field ever just doesn't work, especially on a forum with roleplays so varied. Fandom roleplays have their fandom-specific information, squishy slice of life roleplays focus more on the sexuality and angst points of a character, etc. There will always be different sheets for different roleplays - it's not one size fits all.

The best thing to go for is a sheet that is malleable. A formatting that you like that you can adjust to each RP [unless there are uniformity rules instated by said RP's GM Staff].

Another thing you could do is put some of the smaller bits of information side by side So it could go something like....

Age ○ Race ○ Gender
Height ○ Weight ○ Build
Eyes ○ Hair ○ Skin tone

And then all filled out it would look like...

35 ○ Lizzard ○ Female
6'2 ○ 225 ○ Athletic
Yellow ○ None ○ Scales

or you could leave the keys in, as I suspect eye and hair color would get mixed up otherwise. But you get the idea, you can save some space this way if you hate tall sheets.

Looks good - the top looks like the standard for my cs's and several others on the forums - bottom is a nice addition.

I suppose so, yeah, but I'm one of those people that values aesthetics and stuff. I usually change the entire look of a sheet depending on the vibe of either the roleplay or my character. then I never post

Yeah that looks fine.

As the RP I run is more varried on charceters and self expression we tend to stick with the basics in a list and let people design it to how they feel best works for the charceter.

But as for your purpose. Simple, works, that's fine. Fancy is not always needed. Simple and easy to read is.

I doubt you need the sexuality section if you're using this mainly for arena characters. No one is going to care that your character likes guys (or gals) when they're trying to bash said character's head in, but I guess it could be useful for fluff.

xD Thank you all for your assistance, recommendations, and eyes that have slept for more than a week in their life. I will make this sheet better with the help, and continue tweaking it until it suits the needs that it has to, in a fashion people won't mind reading.
