⇢ BEFORE OUTBREAK
Tony and Lisa were born and raised in Kentucky. The two were the ultimate definition of high school southern sweethearts. Lisa fell pregnant right after graduation with their first child and son: Lexington (named after the city he was conceived in). Their parents- the grandparents of Lexington loved the little boy, but were not at all happy with the arrangements their children had gotten themselves into. Tony decided right there and then he would become a truck driver to put some food on the table, and diapers on their new baby boy.
Moving often, the family had seen the inside of plenty of motels, hotels, and various trailers. When the two love birds fell pregnant again with their second child- Brooklyn; their parents cut off all ties letting them know that they were on their own. The two didn't care, and continued to work towards a better life- one that seemed so far away.
Tony left for a quick trip job one morning and never returned. Lisa was pretty sure he'd be back someday but as years went by her implanted memories replaced her reality and despite both of her now adult children urging her to move on- she declined.
Lexington moved on, left the state to Portland. Brooklyn stayed close to take care of her mother, she had a rough upbringing but made her way through college to become an art teacher at the local elementary school during the day, and an inspiring country singer at the bar at night.
That is where she met Harris, the man who stole her heart. These two had a whirlwind of a relationship similar to her parents. They loved hard, they fought hard, and eventually Brooklyn found herself pregnant with his child. It was a pure moment of joy for Brooklyn, but not so much for Harris. He wanted her to get rid of the child as soon as possible, after several thousands ignored texts and calls Brooklyn truly considered having an abortion to get back the love of her life; her hardest decision of her life- until the outbreak hit.
⇢ FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE
Naked from the waist down, sitting in a room at a gynecologist's section of the local clinic in Portland, the move she had made to be closer to her last kin. It had been only a couple months in, but Brooklyn decided to keep the baby. She weighed every option before deciding on keeping the child. She would be strong like her mother and raise the child on her own if she had to. The wait was longer than usual, but she remained patient for over an hour before becoming curious. Walking out into the hallway, she noticed a few other patients had their head poked out of their rooms curious about the hold up as well.
"Y'all been waiting long too?" the girl questioned with returns of nods and other complaints. Suddenly a loud shriek erupted from the lobby. Brooklyn pulled her gown around her small body as not to reveal her bare back and bottom as she walked into the lobby. There she saw a woman with her teeth sunk into the receptionist, oozing blood from the corner of her mouth as she sucked and gnarled into human flesh. Brooklyn took this as a sign to get the fuck out of there as soon as possible, and never looked back.
⇢ CURRENT HISTORY
Pregnancy was difficult. Pregnancy during an outbreak of ravagers wanting nothing more than to pick off your flesh was even more difficult. Practically impossible. When it came time to deliver Brooklyn was extremely blessed to have a group of helpful and understanding people. She had been dead weight during the last month, but she made up for it in high moral.
When the baby girl was born, she decide to name her Harris, after her father- despite his absence through out the entirety of the whole ordeal. She lived for a week before dying, suddenly and unexplained. It sent Brooklyn into a spiral, depression and anger wrapped around every inch of her soul. Now, a few months after the incident Brooklyn has regained her happy spirit- even singing once again, despite the horrendous world they lived in.
Personality More introverted than he lets on, Gryphon has a tendency to drift between polite and diligent to cold and spiteful, though his will to live despite the circumstances keeps him firmly grounded and ever alert. His survival skills are passable, but he's well aware he can only make it so far by himself.

History Back in the day, 17-year old Mariya Golovin ran away from home to Los Angeles for her dream of becoming a famous actress, where she would meet director Giulio Ganza. A cinematic genius in her eyes, the two were married within a year. But Giulio was nothing more than a B-movie hack, and with no real talent in acting Mariya begrudgingly stayed for the income. And then Gryphon was born. Gryphon maintained a natural flair for theatrics (and considerable skill in lying), a quality that only encouraged Mariya to push her son through theater classes all throughout his childhood, with little care from her husband.
Gryphon's talent gifted him any leading role in every single school play. This translated well into his future, starring in formal plays before eventually deciding to go to film during college. He was nothing short of a celebrity, everything his mother could ever dream of until he gradually distanced himself from his family. At one point, he had a brief affair with married actress Ava Keo which resulted in the birth of a son, Hayden, whom he was unable to meet before having business to attend to in Oregon. And just as it was about time to head back home, Gryphon caught the first glimpse of the end of the world, witnessing a man of graying complexion tear into some unknown's flesh on the way to the airport, mouth red and tongue blue.
After confirming this incident wasn't at all staged, the airport was locked, and that there were a grand total of zero reliable safehouses, Gryphon set out with his present friends to survive. Except he knew he was surrounded by idiots, and so left them within a week without so much as a word of farewell.

Your First Walker Encounter
☣ While performing a gig in Charlottesville, Virginia, there was a loud commotion beyond the cheers that they were accustomed to. Cries and screams that were a reminder of Leo's time in the army echoed throughout the venue. A small group of walkers entered the bar and began to tear chunks from people. With the surge of the crowd people were trampled and crushed as they tried to escape. Fortunately for the band and a few others they were able to escape through a back door.
History Before Outbreak
☣ There was nothing distinct or worth of note that occured during Leo's childhood. It was normal in every aspect, achieving decent grades and spending most of his time with his friends. He played football on weekends for his local team and was an avid fan of music, playing multiple instruments. He had two loving parents and never wanted for anything growing up. That's not to say he was spoiled because he really wasn't, he simply had everything he needed to have the best chance to make something of himself.
☣ At the age of sixteen when others were talking about staying on in school or going to college, Leo decided to join the British Army. His father and grandfather had both served in the army but that wasn't a factor of why he wanted to do it. He felt within himself that it would allow him to become part of something bigger than himself. Instead of ending up with a piece of paper that says he spent thousands of pounds and three to four years of his life in university, he wanted to accomplish something.
☣ During a fairly lengthy military career he did several tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He operated as a designated marksmen for the majority of his time while serving. He was wounded on his second Iraq tour after taking a bit of shrapnel to the chest. Luckily he survived and is left with a minor scar across the left side of his chest. Unfortunately during his second tour of Afghanistan his father died back in the UK.
☣ After returning home he found his father had left him a letter expressing his last wish was for Leo to do what he really wanted and what he felt passionate about. Leo left the army to pursue career in music, forming a band that was a mixture of his brother, childhood friends and someone he had served in the army with. Leo had saved money well and combined with the money his father left him, he was able to start a band without worrying about work. Within a year they had released their first album and made an instant impact on the metal scene. They did several supporting tours before finally having a headline tour of their own. The money they made from album sales and merchandise was enough to give the band a comfortable existence.
☣ While touring the UK Leo met his ex wife, a slender blonde with bright green eyes who instantly took Leo's breath away. They hit it off right away and within two years they were married...happily Leo assumed. Unfortunately for him he found her in bed with someone else when he returned home early from a tour due to a cancellation of a gig on health and safety grounds. Not one to be treated like a fool he kicked her out and took to the bottle. He spent the next six months permanently drunk and had it not been from his bandmates intervening, he would likely have died. Several months of rehab later and he was clean, not touching a drop of alcohol since.
☣ A month prior to the outbreak the band set about their first headlining tour of the US. The tour was without incident with sold out shows and passionate fans wherever they went. That was until the night of the outbreak.
History Since Outbreak
☣ As the band and a few of their fans escaped the bar they headed to a nearby motel. Within in they barricaded the doors and windows as best they could, closing curtains and whatever else was available. For several days they stayed there surviving on the contents of a lone vending machine. Chocolate and fizzy drinks didn't make for the best diet but it meant they would stay alive. Then on the fifth day of being in the motel a notice was played over the radio, instructing everyone who was able to, to make it to the park in the center of town to be extracted. The time limit was short, only twelve hours from when they heard the message.
☣ The survivors knew they had to chance it as their supplies were on the verge of running out. Arming themselves with whatever they could find they made their way to the park. A couple of people were killed by walkers on the way, but for the most part the group made it relatively in tact. They were met by a large crowd of people waiting to board busses and helicopters, the surrounding area covered by heavily armed soldiers.
☣ The time ticked by quickly but with little movement for the survivors and that proved costly. As they were waiting to be extracted the extraction site was set upon by a horde. Sully watched as walkers appeared from almost every direction, tearing into whoever got in their way. Busses sped off and helicopters flew off into the distance leaving civilians and soldiers alike to fend for themselves. Leo was forced to watch as Steve and Dave were pulled apart from a group of walkers that had gotten between them. In the melee Leo lost his brother and the last band member Shaun, getting pulled in different directions by the rushing crowds. Eventually he ducked into an abandoned house and threw everything he could behind the door, barricading himself in.
☣ Left to stew with his thoughts for a couple of days Leo decided it was time to go. He planned to move under cover of darkness to minimise the risk of being spotted by the walkers. He returned to the extraction zone to a scene of devastation and slaughter, only a couple of lone walkers remaining to pick the last bits of meat from peoples bones. At the site there was still a vast quantity of weapons left by the fleeing or deceased soldiers. Taking his opportunity Leo armed himself and set off in the hope he would find his brother.
☣ In the days that followed Sully moved from small town to small town searching for his brother and gathering supplies. He wouldn't stay in one place too long, barricading himself into a house for a night before carrying on his search. He moved cautiously and treated the majority of people he came across with suspicion. He had a few brushes with bandits and the undead but for the most part survived by being careful. As the months rolled by he gave up hope of finding his brother or Shaun alive and now assumes that they are dead.
To most Alex appears cold and standoffish, but those who know him well realize he is just a quiet guy. He can seem rude but that is only because he is very direct and rarely lets bias change how he deals with things unless he REALLY dislikes someone. He is fiercely loyal and if someone hurts or wrongs someone he cares about he will defend them, but he rarely defends himself. He loves bringing characters to life and enjoys making people happy despite not seeming like it. He has difficulty trusting people, but once you have it you won't lose it unless you do something to wrong him or those close to him.
Ever since the outbreak, Alex has become even more closed off. He does his best to keep from making connections with people because he knows the closer he gets to someone the more likely he'll do something stupid to protect them. As of right now, he does whatever he can to protect his family, and in his mind, there are very few lines he won't cross as long as they are safe.
Engineering(Specifically Computers) - From College Studies.
Rifles - From hunting a lot and then usage since the outbreak.
Stealth - Primarily developed after the outbreak started.
Acting/Lying - Alex was an actor at his high school and college before the outbreak started.
Self-defense - Was forced by his parents to take Hapkido classes because he would constantly get into fights as a kid. They stopped forcing him when he assured them he had stopped fighting. When in actuality he just got better at hiding it.
Before the outbreak, Alex's life was fairly average. He had two brothers, three sisters(one of which was adopted), and two loving parents. He had friends, in a loose sense of the term, and life was fairly easy for him. What more could a guy ask for? Well, for one he wished he fit in with his family. They were all kind and caring. Sure he cared for his family but it felt different. Another desire was for an actual deep friendship. The majority of his 'friends' were just that because they were friends of his siblings. He had one or two real friendships but didn't really see them for what they were. What about life being easy for him then? Well, he wanted some hardship as he has developed a self-deprecating personality being the black sheep of the Woulfe tribe which constantly tells him he doesn't deserve any of it.
As a kid, he had his own friends but over time those relationships just waned away and he only really spoke with his family. Over the years Alex drew more and more into himself except when he got the itch to either get in a fight for no real reason or perform as a character other than himself. When it came time to transition to college, Alex and his twin sister, Kiley, both opted to simply go to the local community college to stay near home. Nearing the end of their college experience, Alex was even more emotionally distant from anyone that wasn't family. His siblings constantly tried to change that when the unthinkable happened.
The day IT happened, Alex had been tricked into a double date by his best friend and family. The four had ventured to the closest city to watch a movie. All was going well until screaming seemed to be drowning out the movie. All the people watching began to get confused. Some left to see what was going on. Alex and his group were among them. What they saw will forever remain ingrained in Alex's mind. People eating and tearing at the flesh of other people. It was like walking into a horror movie. The whole building went into a panic. Alex and his group rushed to exit the building but not before Alex's best friend, Jake, got bit on the shoulder.
Alex grabbed a nearby chair and slammed it against the attacker and the four quickly ran for it. They hoped in Alex's car and rushed for the hospital only to find it in even worse shape. Having no other ideas Alex drove home with reckless abandon while Kiley, who was studying to be a nurse, did her best to treat the injured friend. They arrived home and carried Jake inside with help from some rightfully confused family members. They tried all they could but eventually Jake passed away. At this point, they all realized things were even worse then what they appeared. They couldn't reach the police because the phones were down and the cable networks were all reporting chaos in the streets. Suddenly Jake seemed to just wake back up. He stumbled towards whoever was closest as they tried to talk to him only to have Jake sink his jaws into Alex's father. A panicked scream was elicited from many in the house but Alex quickly and regrettably grabbed Jake and threw him off his father. The body formerly which housed Jake slammed into the wall and Alex was forced to kick it until it stopped moving.
It took a few hours for those in the house to process everything and by that time Alex's father had assumed what was going to happen to him. He told Alex to gather as many people together as he could and leave the city for somewhere safer until everything blew over. Alex did this gathering quite the group of people. Mostly just his family and those close to them. He left a note behind in case his older siblings came back home saying where they were going, grabbed a few supplies and things to protect themselves with (including the katana he inherited from his grandpa's sword collection), and set out for somewhere safe.
It has been quite some time since then. The group has changed and merged. Over time people from the group have joined the worse spectrum of life and death. Most have just up and left not being to keen on how Alex would do things. He continues leaving notes in various places in hopes anyone he knows will find them and follow his trail. But now he and his tiny troop consisting of his siblings, Kiley, Sadie, and Micky have found themselves heading right into Portland, Oregon.

Taeyeon is a person described as the pure standard of beauty when it comes to people in South Korea, in those standards her beauty exceeds others and will continue to do so. With her thin frame, many people will think that she is not a threat, and considering the pretty face as well, some might just completely ignore her, and that may come as an advantage, but she does get annoyed when that happens. She is quite tall, standing at 167 cm (5’6″) and light enough weighing 48 kg (106 lbs), but other than her height what people notice is her face. People should distinguish her by her small eyes and lips, well toned nose, and nicely shaped head; and what should be included her hair that just barely goes above her shoulders with a very obvious brown colour.
In terms of clothes, she wears light clothing that is quite protective like pants and long sleeved shirts, and she'll most likely have a coat or jacket over everything. She also wears brown combat boots and a military vest that she got from her older brother.
⟡ Hand to hand combat - Taught exclusively by her brother who was once in the South Korean military. ⟡ Firearms - Good knowledge on firearms, but can only wield smaller firearms. ⟡ Deception - Though a nice person, Taeyeon can make people believe her through speaking and her body type alone. ⟡ Small military training - Though only learning from her brother, she's been using it quite well.
When Taeyeon was growing up she was already a responsible kid and was already quite known for being exactly that along with her beautiful and kind nature, people often think that whatever she does in his life will be brought with good fortune. She continued to grow up to be a reliable and kind, making those her most favourable features to everyone she meets. She was always polite and never really showed disrespect to anyone, always talking formally and showing no authority to those of her superiors. Always someone so genuine and lovable, someone willing to do anything for a friend.
Taeyeon's kindness and over all genuineness gave her this aura to everyone around her, making that the instant vibe people get when they're faced with her. Though, her genuine and polite personality does have it's own contrast, she's always so self-conscious about what people think about her that there are times she forgets to do things her way or the fun way, and this often leads to the outbreak of her deceptive nature. She fears that being judged so much means that it is a bad thing, she thinks that every judgement laid upon her is something negative, never positive unless proven otherwise. Taeyeon's kindness is an understatement, just that word already makes it an understatement, she always puts others before herself while showing that everything will turn out well even after the darkest of times.
Taeyeon was born in Seoul, South Korea, with a mother, a step father, and her brother, Jimin who was three years older than her who she always looked up to. Though, when Taeyeon was born, she had no trace of her step father in her blood, Jimin and her are all born from the same man; The mother carried Taeyeon for two months before her father and mother separated, though they did both agree to keep watch on both children. Even though their father and mother were separated, their lives were still in the upper middle class since their father and step father had high paying jobs and the two were able to go to high ends schools.
Growing up, Taeyeon was surrounded by people who admired her for her beauty and was the main reason for her making quite a lot of friends when she was young; and as she grew older, and older, only few had stayed by her side, and of course her brother who was there supporting her as much as he could. As she reached highschool, it was there that she wanted to be a musician, a singer to be exact and both her mother and father offered that she would go abroad for college, and she agreed. She had also made an agreement with Jimin that after he serves his time in the military, he will come live with her. She then flew all the way to Oregon for a university that she got accepted in, and decided to dorm there while her brother served time in the military. She and her parents had only bought a house during the last year of Jimin's service.
As Jimin and her were living together, she had graduated from university and became a small time musician, hoping that, that would change soon. Jimin had a corporate job of being a lawyer which was good for them financially. During their time living together, Jimin had been slowly teaching her self-defense and handling firearms that he had learned in the military, which later came in handy.
One day, Jimin went out to do a grocery run, and while he was out the news broadcast had stated something about an outbreak of some sorts, though Taeyeon was paying attention she continued to write lyrics on the couch. Suddenly, banging was heard from the door which repeated for awhile which annoyed her, so she went to go check; as soon as she opened the door, she realised that it was their next door neighbor with a bite mark on the neck and blood running down his mouth. The man charged at her but she was able to move out of the way before he could get near her, she then closed the door with her foot and sprinted to the kitchen, she grabbed the closest kitchen knife and stabbed Mr. Hendricks right through the skull and he fell flat on the ground. She then grabbed her phone on the coffee table and dialed her brother while she ran upstairs, as she ran upstairs to her room, she heard the feint ringing coming from her brother's room and it would appear that her brother left his phone at home during this whole fiasco. Annoyed, Taeyeon changed out of her clothes and into something suited for outdoors, and went straight to the basement to grab the equipment she and her brother had stored down there. She got the vest, pistol and combat knife from the basement.
Taeyeon held her ground there in the house hoping for her brother to come home, but it had been hours and she was getting overrun. She ran off, evading the walkers that were in her way as she ran through the streets. She didn't know what to do at this point, she ended up in someone's shed, slowing down her breathing as she had an inner mental breakdown, wishing that her brother was okay. She didn't know what to do and continued to wander. It's been awhile and yet still no sign of Jimin, she wouldn't give up but she just continued to walk around the world, hoping to meet up with her lost brother soon.

Name: Jessie “Jess” Goldman Age: 26 years old. Gender: Female
About 170 cm and certainly not a heavy weight fighter. Still wearing her yoga pants, Mid Crossback, gym shoes, with only a slightly too big olive military field jacket to cover herself and provide some warmth.
Personality: Jess has all the reason in the Universe to be down, yet she has put on a comedic attitude; the only way to survive, she thinks. Quick witted, joyful and unable to ignore someone in need. She meditates to calm her mind and can’t imagine a day with practicing at least one talent.
Martial arts: First Jess learned to walk in life, then she learned to kick. After a lifetime of Judo, she started branching out and training more dirty tricks. As the apocalypse started 2 weeks before her first fight, Jess has never had to pick herself up. Meaning that she has done a lot of training, a lot of technique, a lot of theory, yet never has she had to push through pain and a beating and get back up. Jess got the hands of a true warrior, just not the heart of one... yet.
Nodachi training: About 13 years of this training. Never fought on a competitive level, yet she sees fencing as a alternative form of meditation and has committed to the form.
Jess also has a fierce intelligence (maybe even a knack for leadership) that might prove useful as she accepts the world around her.
Weaknesses: Not always the bravest, as she still has a hard time adapting to the new world. No experience with guns and she has yet to recover any glasses that can fix her eyesight. Being unable to ignore a situation or someone in need can also prove to be a major disadvantage for her.
History: Born and raised in Tokyo. The philosophies of the mind and body has always peeked Jess’ interest. She came from a family of Judo and does not remember a time, where she didn’t practice it. Fencing and its soothing effect on the body came later and so did her quest to find inner peace.
Having grown up as a caucasian in an English-speaking home, she never really felt like she fit in Japan. Thus, by the age of 20 she moved over to the Unite states. There the Judo-teachings were more scarce and she got into mixed martial arts. Eventually she acquired a trainer and started training for the MMA. Since fighting was introduced to her at such a young age, she possessed a fluidity few can achieve by other means.
2 weeks before her first fight the apocalypse happened. Streets ran red, people screamed. Stepping out of the gym, Jess saw the mayhem and tried to help. A man was stuck at the passenger seat of a burning cop car that had been flipped over. Because of his size (he was a mountain of meat and muscle) it required both him and Jess to get him through the smashed, crooked door. Next up was getting the cuffs off him and seeing to his bleeding forehead. It was only the day later that the man showed his true colors. Now that the world had ended, he opted to turn everything into his kingdom. The desperate and the angry had already joined his and Jess’ growing group. As his plan started to involve cannibalism, Jess tried to sabotage the thing. One of the few possessions, she had managed to save, was her Nodachi. An imposing weapon. However, as she could not bring herself to kill a fellow human, she was ultimate taken prisoner by the group. The big man she had rescued started to refer to himself as Manhunter. He couldn’t bring himself to eat the woman whom had saved his life. So as his journey and madness started to begin, Jess was being transported along against her will. That’s when her story starts out: The day she escapes and must take the first few steps of loneliness amongst the walking dead.
"Hello, My name is Norman and I am with with Geek Support, how can I assist you today?"
Norman Sheldon Lenard
30th of June
Norman or Normie is a rather fat drink of water, he is about your average overweight man with a gut that could sink a ship. He is not in shape at all with an almost sort of pale skintone but is fair when it comes to having a clean complexion. He does not have any tattoo's or piercings on or about his body and he does not have any scars to speak of. His hair is usually messy and curly, not by his own design. Norman does not have any facial hair as he has never been one for a beard however you can see all the marks where he cut himself shaving in certain places.
Norman is most definitely not the type of person who would put himself out there, if it really came down to it he would sit in his room alone and out of sight. Hindered with a natural shyness he can come off as extremely awkward in social situations. Most people who can make it past his outer shell would notice that Normie is a genuine soul, he is a kind and intelligent man, the kind of person who would go out of their way to help a friend. He does not possess a mean bone in his body and is extremely loyal to the people he loves. Some would say there is a naivety to the man, an inability to see reality for what it is and that he is far too trusting and in some cases they would be right. Normie believes in the best of people instead of the worst and that no one is truly beyond reproach.
Electronics Wizard: Norman is by all account an genius when it comes to electronics, he can fix or make anything out of anything. He has always been fascinated with how things worked and how to create things.
Hacker: Norman is an expert hacker, he can get into any system that he wants to, all he needs is time and the right tools. This at the same time also makes him really good with computers and their respective systems.
Strategic Savant: Norman is great with strategy, he excelled at it, especially in video games where strategy is key. You wouldn't think it looking at him but he is quite literally the man with the plan.
"You say I am going to hell? I say don't get my hopes up."

Christian or Chris is for lack of better terminology a healthy specimen. His body is well taken care of and is well toned with a perfect amount of muscle. He has a lightly tanned skin tone and a clear complexion. He does not have any noticeable scars and on his back across the shoulders from side to side is Semper Fi in bold acrylic lettering. His hair is usually kept short and he is known to have a trimmed full beard.
Chris is a hardheaded and stubborn son of a bitch in many aspects. He has always been the rough and tough type, the get in your face and fight type. He never lacked the ability to get down and dirty where it was necessary and was never afraid to stand up to someone when it was needed. Some would consider Chris impulsive and definitely not shy when it comes to being social. If one can manage to get past his rough outer shell they would see that beyond the tough exterior Chris is a giving man, a loyal man, and cares very deeply even if he would never admit to it. He can be short tempered at times but if he goes off, know it is for a good reason. He has a no die attitude and would never leave a man behind.
Martial Arts: Chris has always been a fighting type, over his years he has learned different forms of martial arts adding to his knowledge of techniques. His main form of combat is hand to hand as apposed to weapons but he is more than competent with blades.
Hardened: While most may not consider it a skill, Chris is hardened mostly due to his life style. Having been military he has seen his share of combat and it makes him hard on the outside. Things don't bother him like it might others.
Mechanic: Chris is really good with repairing vehicles, he just has an unnatural knack for repairing engines.
The Lenard brothers were born on June 30th in a small town called Blairsville deep in the heart of Georgia. They are in reality, even with their quite noticeable appearance differences, twins by birth. Chris is merely seconds older than his brother Norman. Even though they were brothers, it was obvious that both of them were completely different from the other. Norman the technical baby of the family was the kind and soft child, mostly taking after his mother, a nurse at the local hospital whom was a kind and very gentile lady. Chris took after his father who was an old military veteran, a kind yet very tough man.
Growing up, Chris spent a lot of time taking care of his brother Norman whom seemed cursed to be the victim to the would be bullies. As they became older unfortunately, Chris and Norman would become more distant to each other. The truth was, they were two completely different people, Chris was a tough guy, a fighter, like his dad and Norman was a nice guy, more brains than brawn like his mother. In the end Norman and Chris would separate, Chris would join the military and Norman would go to college.
Over the years that would transpire the two would see each other from time to time, Christmas, thanksgiving, at least when Chris was on leave, but neither one of them really kept close contact. Soon enough Norman was on the fast track to becoming an expert programmer and Chris was on the fast track to becoming an officer. This would all change though when they received the call that would change their lives forever. Around their twenty fifth birthdays both their mother and father were killed by a drunk driver in their home town.
Both brothers were devastated, each in their own way, returning home for the funeral was probably the hardest thing either of them had ever been through. It was also in this time that it lead to the fight that would almost break them apart for good. Norman, distraught and broken would cling to Chris for support and Chris who had long since become tired of his younger brothers weakness would push him away. Angry and broken himself he condemned Norman for being weak and he would not be the one to take care of him for the rest of their lives and would leave Norman to fend for himself.
Both brothers became lost in life, Chris returned to the military and Norman would abandon college out of grief and start working at a local electronics store in the Geek department. It would be five years before either one saw the other again, when Chris would get wounded in battle. Just like that Chris's military career ended with a destroyed leg, bitter and defeated, he lay in a hospital bed, alone. Chris refused treatment, refused therapy, and it seemed that he would die in that hospital.
When Norman first came, Chris wanted nothing to do with his brother, but eventually, through thick and thin the two of them would finally find the love they had lost for each other. Instead of Chris taking care of Norman, it was Norman for the first time who took care of Chris. With his encouragement and help, Chris found the strength to go through therapy, and to right his life and to find a new purpose. Both of them settle back into their old town, Chris would become a local mechanic and Norman would return to his job on the geek squad. Neither had a perfect life, and neither ended up where they thought they would. But in the end, the both of them found each other again and that was more important than anything else.
English, passable Spanish, a small smattering of Italian.
Missing her right ring finger and pinky. Septum piercing – a faded silver ring. Her left arm also has a full tattoo sleeve from shoulder [and a bit of her chest] to wrist, full of vibrant colours and in homage to the ocean with various sea creatures – even a kraken. Has a small, hidden tattoo on the other side of her torso, beside her breast, of a well known gang symbol.
Projects a relaxed and charming demeanour that almost comes across as a stereotypical California surfer girl, but has hints of being disturbed. In truth she's incredibly realistic and brutal, reliable but only in situations that aren’t immediately threatening to herself, and though she can be affectionate it seems Sam has trouble forming deep connections to people. She's very secretive as well, and good at lying about anything and everything to back it up.
- Has a strong stomach for death and little ethical problems with administering it. - Willing to handle jobs most others don’t enjoy doing. - Well-versed in small arms, assault rifles, and decent with small blades. - Can hotwire. - Surprisingly good with plants, but tends to baby-talk them.
- Sometimes rubs people the wrong way with her ‘for the good of the group’ mentality. - Will do whatever needs to be done for the group, sure, but between herself or them will always choose herself. - Even with the crisis going on, and traditional currency being all but useless now, Sam has an unhealthy obsession with money. - Doesn’t trust easily. - Frequent nosebleeds.
Switchblade, 9mm pistol. Has an AK-47 but only a single clip of ammo left. Carries a dufflebag full of money.
By all means Samantha probably shouldn’t have turned out the way she did. Born to a decently well-off family it’s not as though she grew up wanting, nor did she lack discipline. In fact she had plenty of that, though that may have been what caused her walk on the wild side. The eldest of three siblings Sam was the one the most pressure was put on to be perfect, from grades to mannerisms. Whether it was because her two siblings were male, or just that they weren’t the first children bore, the pressure on her brothers was never as intense. Jealousy grew to resentment, and resentment soon turned to ‘hanging out with the wrong crowd’. Her parents were furious as her grades dropped, she became mouthy, and no matter the threats continued on her path.
After all, even before that Sam always had a rebellious streak. More than that, maybe something was just plain wrong in her brain wiring.
It was a bit of a miracle, and a bit of greased palms that kept Sam out of juvie. It might’ve done her some good honestly, since petty crimes of shoplifting and fighting soon turned to far more serious allegations. Drug dealing, robberies, car jacking. It was no surprise to anyone when Sam skipped town before she was even out of her teens. She was pretty sure her family was relieved. Being on her own, outside of her parents shadow brought a new set of problems, yet it seemed the ruthless girl flourished despite any set backs. She ended up at the more crime-heavy Californian border, where she spent years with another branch of the same drug runners that populated her home town. Soon it was far more than just simple drugs she had her fingers in, and any trace of that well-mannered girl was wiped out in the coming years as Sam fully integrated herself in her new environment. Though, admittedly she fell back on that charming front more than once to get her way.
Sam ended up being good at what she did. Really good. She had her own little crew that called her boss, and she was respected enough by her own higher ups to have some responsibility. Life was going just fine.
And just like that, life wasn’t so fine anymore. In the initial confusion and panic of a disease spreading throughout the country, Sam and her crew of five others took advantage of the situation. Sure it was dangerous, but once everything blew over, their loot from a string of robberies in evacuated neighborhoods and deserted homes would bring them a goldmine. How bad could it be, after all? The news blew things out of proportion all the time.
Their first encounter with these things came when the town Hospital was overrun. The creatures spilled into the streets, and there was no place to take the sick anymore. The normally quiet home invasion turned into one of their own being killed with their throat torn out, another being bitten, and a hail of gunfire covering their tracks as the group of now four retreated. After that it didn’t take them long to realize how much danger there actually was, and the group retreated to the warehouse that housed their crew’s stash. Hidden away from the general populace on the outskirts of the city, and of course made to not easily be broken into, that’s all Sam’s little group needed at first. Drugs, cars, miscellaneous stolen items, and more importantly – weapons.
Yet it wasn’t perfect. Jenna had been bit and was showing signs of worsening. They had very little food. Surprisingly, it wasn’t her that they lost first on returning. As their food supplies lowered, Travis – who was always high strung in Sam’s opinion – lost his mind. “Why are we wasting supplies on her?! She’s going to die!” Was his main complaint, and though Sam told him to stand down and she’d handle it, Travis wasn’t taking it. He put a gun in his boss’ face and, wild eyed, told her he wasn’t going to die here. He was taking the food, and the weapons, and he was leaving!
Sam soothed him. We’re stronger together. I’ll handle it. You don’t want to be out there alone, do you?
The soft lilt of her voice finally had Travis lowering his gun. Shamed him into handing it over, into whispering an apology.
The instant his eyes turned, Sam shot him in the back of his head.
Let it not be said that Sam played favourites – even though she did. When the other two, not including a fever-ridden Jenna, were calmed from her decision, Sam packed up a bag. In what may have been an ultimate sign of her favour she included a pistol and an extra clip of ammo. The next day, with Travis’ brain matter cleaned off the floor, the remaining five went to get food. It was in town that Sam pressed the bag into Jenna’s hands, told the not-all-there girl she wished her the best of luck, then kissed her forehead before sending her off in what was more than likely her death. Sam gave her the chance to survive on her own.
Three returned to the warehouse.
From there, it seemed like everything that could go wrong did. The decision was quickly made to move north with one of the cars- first to crash at Sam's family home and get what supplies they could, then towards Canada where the population was less dense, and therefore less dangerous.
Sam's childhood home was abandoned.
They stayed there for a little bit, collecting food from the surrounding area. Two days in another one of their own was lost however, his increasing use of their drug supply to cope making him slow and scatterbrained. Four days in Sam’s fingers were bit grabbing a walker’s face to stop those teeth from sinking into her neck – as soon as he was down she cut the two fingers off herself.
Then it was just Sam and Michael in their lonely journey, headed north once more. They did alright for awhile. Less people meant supplies went farther. They were close even before this all happened, remaining lovers up until the very end. Of course, ‘the end’ was Sam stabbing Michael in the knee when they were nearly overrun in a mall in Oregon, so that she might escape even if he did not.
Wasn’t true love dying for your significant other, after all? It was all very noble of Michael, even if he had no choice.
