Have you ever met more than one person on the internet on a very anonymous forum that shares the same state as you? Have you ever gotten the idea to make a random-off topic thread about it? Did you ever think of wanting to express how sh*tty Michigan is to a random strange that is from/not from the same state? Well... welcome to RPG Michigan gang. Come here to express your views about Michigan. Everyone from around the world is welcome.

The discussions below can include, but are not limited to talk about universities, travel spots, the weather, Lower, Mid, and Upper Michigan plus the Upper peninsula. Whoever is from the Lower Peninsula and thinks they are better, are trolls. (JK the creator of this place is originally from the middle of nowhere.)

I'm going to not ask but mention users from the state. Ask to be removed (I totally understand, I wouldn't want to be associated with this state either, but here I am.)

My hometown is Flint, but I also resided in Grand Rapids and Muskegon Heights. Now I live in Escanaba! Thankfully, I also work in Escanaba now instead of Manistique or Marquette.

Yes and no. I'm an hour from the Wisconsin border (and have actually worked across state lines before), but two and a half to three from the bridge.

As Tyler can tell you (since we discussed it before in PM), it's absolutely stunning up here. As much as I miss the convenience of the city, I love the natural beauty here more.

The Upper Peninsula is gorgeous. I love it so much more than the lower peninsula (I didn't have the convenience of much where my original place is from.) I enjoy all the activities, especially the summer ones. I enjoy the scenery of summer and fall, hiking, walks, mountain climbing, cliff jumping off from black rocks, and other places. It's an amazing experience.

I would say, I want to buy a cabin up here or something when I move away after graduation.

My hubby and I plan to buy a house with some acreage outside of the town, probably in Ford River. (Best bass fishing spot in the UP!) When things warm up, we plan to do more hiking this year. Since I'm not working in the hospital I was (*cough* Schoolcraft *cough*), I can be a person again during semester breaks.

That's a great plan especially if you don't get a lot of neighbors. I have heard there are a few different bass fishing spots in the U.P., I tried to go last summer - it didn't work out. Maybe, I will try this summer. I'll have more time since I moved up here in July.

It's nice having breaks. Are you going back to school or just decided to go to school?

My hubby does more fishing than I do, since I worked basically 150+ hours biweekly in the summer.

We actually got lucky, it took us seven months to find this. It's been a blessing to have enough space to store our boats and quads with parking and a yard for less than a thousand.

Dang, I am right there with you. I am carrying 17 credits right now. I went from 16.5 to 12.5 to 17 in 2 days.

Every time I search for somewhere else around here I just end up finding more of the same at roughly the same price, or not low enough to actually make moving worth it. Like sure: I could save fifty dollars a month moving to any of the apartment complexes but then I end up spending that much more in commuting or something like that, and in having to pay to do my laundry. A few years back I did find what I think was a house for rent for 500 in the middle of town which would have been great but I didn't move on that and lost the opportunity in a blink of an eye. But all other properties here bottom out at maybe 850.
