The Artifacts can't be utilized or moved by anyone that hasn't been chosen at the time. If someone dies and the Artifacts pass to another (keep in mind that in all other cases, a person can one use one of the three), that person cannot use them again, even if he happened to be revived. The Artifacts were created to defend Existence from any threat, and have millions of checks an balances.

TL;DR They're only operable by the owner under any circumstances.
