Poppy Flanagan

Red decided to join their group, which was fine by Poppy. He was up there with Deborah when it came to the rating who she’d met so far. She wasn’t sure how to feel about her roommate Theresa anymore. At the comment about being a social butterfly she waved weakly and tried to put on a smile. Never had that word been used to describe her before. Poppy was timid until she got to know somebody, then she generally became more and more assertive as she became comfortable with things. A point at which she had not reached yet and wouldn't so long as the new faces kept rolling in. The latest edition was a guy who’d been hiding under a nearby table. Odd, but any formalities or thoughts on him were cut short by the lights going out.

Poppy gripped the sofa tightly and let out a startled screech. This isn’t funny… This was the second time today she’d been left in the dark. It was a relief that Deborah had a light, because she didn’t. From what she gathered from the others this time was for real. She didn’t know where to go, but she did know that she didn’t want to be alone. Nicholas’s idea made her uneasy though. They had no idea what caused the power outage, and even if they found out what could they do about it?

“I don’t know about that…” Poppy commented softly. There was also the fact that there wasn’t likely going to be any light near the source of all places. It wasn’t set in stone what they were going to do, and she had a feeling that her opinion wouldn't matter that much anyways. Going outside seemed like a better idea than sitting in a dark room though, so Poppy followed close behind Deborah.

Henry Olin

"Ey, it's me." Henry replied to Codi's question. "A friend came by, healed up my jaw, I owe him one now." he replied. "No need to worry. I'm all good." concluded. He heard Theresa agree to his game, and shouted her call. "Polo!" Henry called back, his face cracking into a smile.

...Only for his face once again to contort into a reptilian version of this face when he watched Theresa's outline hurl up a another red liquid, showing it was warm from being inside her body. The smell was terrible, but it wasn't thick enough to be just bile and the contents of her stomach. There was a lot of water in there too. He decided to make no comment at this, or to really help Theresa. She would know that he could see her and what happened. Approaching her and making it known that he had would most likely make it worse. It would be another thing that would fade into history between them, unless she felt otherwise and wanted it known. Whatever floated her boat. His head snapped around a few seconds before another person entered the building. He had smelt them coming. It looked like a female. Attractive, sure. He couldn't make out anything about her though. He didn't need to ask her announce herself though, she beat him to the punch, whomever she was, and quickly revealed that her name was Victoria. And that she was his friend. "I'm here!" Henry said quickly, only to watch her take her shirt off. Her upper body had been blue with the rest being red an yellow. Now he saw why, her shirt was completely soaked and rather thin, and now she had taken it off and he couldn't tell if she was wearing a bra or not.

"Wait, no I'm not!" he announced a little too quickly, making the same face again for the second time that day, and then looked around for an escape route, quickly deciding that the ceiling was always the best, per the usual. Scratching noises sounded out as he scrambled his way to the ceiling, quickly tacking away and flattening himself to the ceiling in hopes Victoria wouldn't make him come down because he is sure as hell not coming anywhere near that with how much of a bitch he was when it came to girls. It happened once, ONCE, and he was incredibly drunk (it was hard to get drunk along, not even accounting his size, due to his metabolism. His BAC had to have been at .2 or higher then) and just drunk enough to be confident enough to not be a coward for one night, and she was drunk off her ass too whoever she was. Then when he came to, he couldn't even remember anything so it wasn't like she stuck around when she woke up, and she had woken up long before him and left a sticky note on his snout to never speak of it again like he wasn't black out drunk. He mentally slapped the shit out of himself for being such an wimp, but he couldn't help it.

Kade had been in a bathroom, drying herself off when the lights went out. She stood there in complete darkness, sighing a few seconds later. "Bloody Mary... Blood Mary... Bloody Mary..." was all she said to try and make light of the situation. There was a sudden thunder clap from the storm outside that made her jump, thinking she had actually summoned Bloody Mary for a moment. When she realized it was just the storm, she collected herself and swung her hands around to feel for the door.

Still damp, she found her way out. There were some people gathered and some flashlights shining. Kade crossed her arms, having gotten a bit cold from the damp clothes, and continued on her way to the cafeteria. "If only I could stay in the inverse longer... At least it'd be light outside..." she mumbled to herself.

Managing her way to the cafeteria was easy enough, her muscle memory helped out for that. When she got in there, it was easily the darkest place she'd been in, even worse than the bathroom. She clicked her tongue in though, "Hello?" she called out, large rooms in darkness always creeped her out.

Theresa Sindel Obott.
"... Wasn't me!" Theresa shouted when questions of who vomited came up. She immediately put her hands behind her back and her eyes drifted upwards then towards the left. There was no way in hell she was going to have that one pinned on her. Heh. Theresa didn't have much to commentate on because it was so damn dark! She couldn't see two inches in front of herself. Well, she could hear everything just fine... As for smell, Theresa could only smell her own vomit, so yeah. Another girl came into the scene, Codi as Henry and Rosette said. She couldn't see the girl for herself, but she was cool with Rosette (Apparently). Whoever was friends with that will automatically get placed under Theresa's indifferent category. Still, that was no reason to be an ass. "Dunno who you are, but hi! Theresa Obott, nice to meet you." Theresa cheerfully greeted Codi under the veil of darkness. She still a little sick to the stomach - but she doesn't have to worry throwing up with no food in her stomach! She would just have to contain it for a little while.

Now, where the hell was Henr- Oh, the loud polo conveniently announced his presence. Theresa smirked. "Marco!" She replied. This time, not so loud. Hell, if she does that again, she'll probably vomit out an organ! Theresa's ears perked up as she heard Henry chit-chat with another girl. That french accent and whiny voice... That had to be Victoria. The 218's favorite French-gendered arena fanatic. She didn't hear their conversation with perfect clarity, but she picked out some bits and pieces of it. The last thing that Victoria said before Henry went quiet was Victoria telling everyone to keep the lights off. Which made Theresa think for a moment. What would Victoria be hiding in here? Well, she quickly stopped thinking about it, and decided to come up with something to tease Victoria with. "Wait?" Theresa started off, widening her eyes, a useless gesture here in the darkness, "You didn't run over here butt naked, did you?" Theresa followed that up with some child-like giggling. Well, Theresa certainly wouldn't mind such a sight...

And yet another person came into the room. Calling out a simple "hello". Theresa would have certainly made a snide comment about the girl's hesitancy, but this girl sounded familiar. She raised her head and replied, "Kade?" She asked, at least trying to get some confirmation. "You're just in time, friend! We were about to play some twista! Want in?"

Aileen O'Reilly

It was rather disappointing that they didn’t find anything special or secret other than some pool stick. She wasn’t sure what they were called. Yuyu offered to clean up the mess he’d done looking through their roommates stuff, but Aileen just shook her head.

“Nah, we’ll say it was hard to see in the dark, got confused and all that.” Aileen opened the door. “I guess there’s no use sitting here alone in the dark. We’ll find someone else to prank or find out why the school doesn’t even have a backup generator. Let’s go.”

She picked up Yuyu and put him on her shoulders. They’d move faster that way, as he wouldn’t rush into every wall or door. Aileen closed the door after her again, and headed towards the cafeteria after checking if anyone was around somewhere else. She didn’t meet anyone and figured it would be best to head for an area that people were likelier to gather in.

Once there she threw open the door, emitted a very short burst of light to see if anyone was in the room and smiled when she saw movements. There were plenty of noises and some weird smell to accompany whatever they were doing. Aileen wasn't sure what exactly she'd just seen, and maybe she was better off not knowing than turning on the light for longer. She didn't recognize any voice straight. so no one she knew well, but what better time to make friends than in the cover of darkness? The light faded quickly again.

“We found some of the bastards, Yuyu.” She said loudly with her Irish accent to the plant riding her shoulders. He replied with a whistling noise. “Well, I guess they’re hiding in the dark for some reason or other. How should I know?” Yuyu made a few more noises as if talking with Aileen, like they could understand each other. The only reason she could understand the gist of what he tried to communicate was their long history together. Another plant would be close to impossible to understand. “Yeah, yeah…”
Aileen went for her usual seat in the cafeteria, and sat down. She wondered if they’d been told to gather here by the teachers, or if they’d just decided to do so anyway. A glass of water would be nice, but finding one without breaking anything could be difficult in this darkness. She didn’t want to waste her energy on too trivial tasks since she didn’t know the next time it would be sunny outside.

“So, did they say anything about when the power might be back?” Aileen asked, again with a rather loud voice, and addressing the whole room.

Ben Voss, Jago Javuant, Shannon Balore, Deborah Termellio

And so the two were off! The village idiot and the young man. I'll let you, the reader, discern who is who. They trekked out of the training room, Ben sprouting a huge and expansive leaf from both of his hands, of which he used as umbrellas to cover both himself and Jago from the rain. Ben being the train's caboose and Jago leading the charge to wherever the young boy was taking them, which ended up being the lounge. Ben felt a large amount of internal strife at entering this building, as it seemed whenever he entered he was always yelled at for being racist in some fashion that he didn't know about. As they entered the leaves folded and retreated back into Ben's sleeves.

And THEN as he entered the lights went out.

Out of Ben was quiet for a moment, and remained still, concentrating, and eventually out of his hands grew small clovers that produced a vibrant green glow, making a small amount of green light. He had to concentrate to create the small structures, as they were genetically different from normal clovers, and had bioluminescence. He couldn't do this on a large scale, oh no. That would far to difficult, even for him. So he was forced to create the tiny plants on a scale no bigger than his hands, producing a small amount of light that glowed faintly in the dark and provided a place of mental safety for any of those who were afraid.

Yo, what the fuck? One second Jago was about to whip around and give Big-Man one hell of a beatdown, and now the fuckin' lights go out. Though, Jago found it funny as all hell. He started laughing. "Ooooooh shit!" No lights means no rules, baby! That means Jago can do whatever the hell he wants. The problem came when he realized he couldn't see either. No biggy. He put his hand out in front of him, and swiped it across. He crafted a thin, smooth, shield in front of himself. Good thing these shields give off light, right? It glowed enough to give Jago a lil bit of sight. His shield was like looking through a window! Look through it and you see shit! Jago looked around this surroundings. Uh, where was something to steal? The vending machine! Oh yes. All the drinks in that treasure chest are all Jago's! Herpaderp, his face is numb. Jago floated over to the vending machine. If this was a regular vending machine... Jago tilted his head and put his hand on the tilted side of his head. Thinking. Well, shit. Thinking wasn't his specialty. That was Debby's. Whom he is not.

So Jago Javuant decided to take the short and sweet route! He grabbed a chair, and using his telekinesis to give him a little strength boost, he chucked the chair square through the glass frame of the vending machine and made a loud crashing sound as glass, liquids, and plastic bottles all hit the ground in a perfect symphony. Jago laughed like a maniac as he ran over to it. Oh boy. He certainly caused some damage here. Probably broke more things than he intended on. Didn't matter. It was time for the classic smash and grab! He ran over to it, and grabbed whatever wasn't broken already. Holding his prize against his chest like a madman. He didn't have time to look over his quarry, he just took off away from the scene of the crime. Oh boy, Adam is going to shit his pants after this one!

Ben winced at the loud crashing sound, and turned to direct his light plant in Jago's direction, seeing him standing next to a shattered soda machine, laughing, and holding a Watermelon soda victoriously. Ben suddenly had a very powerful urge to throw Jago into the sun for his hypocrisy, but resisted it as to be the bigger man, and watching him scamper off to god knows where. As he looked around, peering through the darkness, he was able to see the shapes of more people in the darkness with his safety-plant. He waved a hand, causing the little light in it to go back and fourth in his hand with it, as if it were dancing with him. He couldn't verbally greet them, instead, he was forced to use body language to convey his thoughts. And it wasn't like he could write. The darkness coupled with the broken-ness of his board made that difficult. He couldn't quite tell who these people were though. His vision wasn't the best, he often needed glasses to read small text after all. He hoped they would say something.

What the hell? Deborah thought to herself as a crash of glass and other pieces echoed through the room (Someone is attempting to break into the vending machine) and totally caught her off guard. She couldn't help but stop and look... She saw a large shape in the darkness. Between Nicholas's flames, and the light this stranger was giving off, Deborah got a pretty good idea of what this stranger looked like. That body type... That looked exactly like Ben's, the man who saved them this afternoon. "Ben?" She asked as she approached, Shannon was silently following after Deborah. Yup. Getting a close look at him definitely told her it was him. Her gaze bounced between him and the vending machine (It was broken recently) You know, power, I'm not even going to complain when you tell me the obvious anymore. (Great). Deborah rolled her eyes. "Did you see who did this, Big Ben?" She casually asked.

Shannon walked to Debby's side and crossed her arms. She was irritated by this turn of events, and even more irritated that some fool decided to trash the vending machine. Like, seriously, can people now think with their dicks for a few seconds? Shannon rolled her eyes. Well, people are stupid, and people don't think. Like at all. Very well. It looks like Ben was before them. Just standing around, being big. Debs decided to grill him about what happened to the vending machine.

Ben waved to them faster, hearing Deborah's voice, and did what looked like a jumping jack wave thing. He pointed his finger up in an idea, and reached into his pocket, causing one of the lights in his hands to go out momentarily, before he pulled out his hand again, brightening the room slightly again as one of the lights came back into full show. He reached forward towards Deborah, his hand full of cotton to be given to Shannon. When she questioned who did it, Ben scratched the back of his head, trying to figure out how to convey who it was. He thought for a minute, before he motioned to his waist, trying to convey that the person was young or short, and then he thought about how to explain Jago's appearance farther. He reached forward and as gently as he could grabbed Deborah by the wrist and place his finger on the skin of her arm, attempting to convey Deborah's ethnicity of being African-American. He then did a motion akin to that of the star war's force concept, by pointing to his forehead and then reaching out toward a random object in the room as if he was going to telekinetically pick it up. He then also grabbed a pool stick and twirled it as quickly as he could creating a fan like shield in front of him, eventually ending up with him dropping it with a loud clacking sound.

Nailed it.

... Fortunately for Ben, Deborah was able to fill in the blanks quite well with her power. She looked on, and watched his display (Ben is an idiot and he doesnt have his whiteboard). Okay, okay, he was trying to explain something. But what? He motioned waist high (Culprit was short, far shorter than him), he grabbed her wrist and pointed at her (Culprit is the same skin color as me) - Deborah was going to ignore the racial implications of this gesture, just this once -, he made a gesture like he was a telekinetic (Culprit has a telekinetic or gravity power), and the most confusing clue of them all came! Ben grabbed a pool cue and started spinning it around, and the damn thing flew out of his hands (Culprit can make a shield, and Ben is still an immeasurable idiot). If it wasn't for Deborah's ability to infer, she would have no damn clue what Ben was talking about. Fortunately her power has gotten her through these situations before. Now she complied all the clues she had and thought this sounded mighty familiar... Her power pieced together this puzzle for her and filled in the blanks.

(Ben is most likely referring to Jago Javuant, my younger cousin. Who used a chair to break into the vending machine and ran off)

God damn that little boy. Deborah clenched her fists and had to restrain herself for a moment. That boy needs to learn some sense before he gets in even more trouble. He was already tossed in the detention center for something stupid. "Ugh!" She let out a growl as she face palmed, gently rocking her head left to right.

Shannon raised an eyebrow. "... Found your culprit?"

"Yeah..." Deborah let out a sigh and found her inner-zen. She let her emotions slip for a secret there, and she can't handle anything if she's all angry. "It's most likely Jago... going off what I know of him already." She nodded her head and turned back towards Ben, "Thank you, Ben, I'm going have to have a word with Jago real fast."

Ben simply nodded at this, and pointed in the direction which Jago had run off to, hoping to be of some aid to his friend. As Deborah left, Ben looked over to Shannon, and offered the hand full of cotton he had been holding out for her to take, per the tradition he was establishing to give cotton to Shannon whenever they met because he was a nice guy and he was totally going to help her make a cotton-mecha thing.

With Debby gone, Shannon crossed her arms and stayed near Ben. She didn't know what to do really with all these people she hated. Well, maybe except Ben. She had a soft spot for him. Which is the only soft spot she'll be getting for anyone here that isn't Deborah. But whatever. She had little else to do but play around with all the cotton Ben's giving her.

It wasn't long before Deborah caught up with Jago, who had planted his little black ass on the nearest table, with everything he had just stole placed on the table. He was just looking at her all calmly... with a bottle of watermelon soda in his hand as he drunk it. "Little boy," Deborah started off as she facepalmed out of sheer embarrassment. "do you know how many stereotypes you are acting our?" She pointed at the bottle

It was a moment or two before it had dawned on Jago... He thought about it for a second, then realized that he was drinking watermelon soda. Then his eyes widened like he's seen a ghost. "Oh fuck!" Jago threw the bottle to the ground and let it spill onto the carpet. Oh god dammit! It was like Big-Man had rubbed off on him.

Deborah growled out of sheer frustration. That's it. She was tired of letting her cousin run around like he was some damn thug. She latched onto his wrist with a death grip and pulled him out of the chair with her greater strength. "If you can't act like you have some damn sense for a few seconds then you're going to stay with me." She dragged Jago back to her group.

Henry Olin, Victoria LaRousse, & Theresa Obott
(Written in collaboration with Jazzy and InfernoBlaze)

Victoria didn't expect for the worst case scenario to happen. Theresa was in the room. She and Deborah would be the two people that Victoria wouldn't want to meet. Victoria knew that Theresa here would only cause her trouble, in case she saw her naked with her bra. It wouldn't be surprising to start filming her, then uploading the whole thing on Youtube...or worse. With the most convincing voice she could muster (which, admittingly, wasn't convincing at all), Victoria replied:

"What are you talking about Tessy? Of course I am not naked! I just have something on my face and it destroyed my eye-liner!"

Got something on your face...? Theresa smirked. Ooooooh the innuendos! She could make so many right now that it was amazing. The biggest question was which one to say. "Oh, God, Victoria, have some decency!" She joked, "Did any of it get into your hair?" Theresa followed it up with a brief bout of laughter. Before going quiet, because this chick can teleport! Might warp her French rear over to her and give her a flying roundhouse. Yikes. Something Tess should avoid.

The worst excuse Victoria could probably come up with. She never used cosmetics, didn't actually give a damn about how she looked. Even if she tried to use them, with all the sweat from her hellish training regimen, there wouldn't be much left in her face for anyone to see.

Victoria's next concern was Henry. She was sure that she heard his voice, but then Croco-boy just said that he wasn't here. Completely oblivious to the fact that the great lizard-man had heat vision, thus being able to make out that his French unrequited (from his point of view) love was almost topless, she once again worried herself with petty thoughts like Henry being angry with her that she wasn't there when he was injured. Her voice, from the fake convincing tone it had before, now changed to an apologetic one:

"Henry, I am sorry that I didn't come to your expe..."

That's when Aileen flashed the light in the room.

Theresa was surprised as anyone else was when the lights flashed for a second - or something. She was briefly worried that Victoria would have a clean shot at her... But Theresa suddenly got an eyeful from the French woman. Oh god, she was barely wearing any clothes, and she had on sexy underwear. That was certainly a sight that Theresa approved of! Right before Alieen's light faded, Theresa could be seen giving Victoria the double thumbs up. "Niiiiiiiiice!" She shouted before laughing. Clearly pleased by the brief eyeful she got. Well, she is a teenager. Hormones.

"Oh god," Henry choked up, holding back a laugh at Theresa's joke. Their friendship started from a meeting between them after Dana introduced them to each other, and had formed from the mold of them both actually being sixth graders who never grew up. However, his laughter was cut short. Because Henry had been partially using his eyes the flash of light that Aileen created was not lost to him

Unfortunately luck would have him be looking in Victoria's direction in the few seconds that the light flashed, giving him a great view of her upper body and bra. "BWAAAAH!" Henry reeled, surprised by the light and boobies, causing him to scramble like a cat that had just been surprised and essentially fall from the roof, and then into the puddle of vomit.

"AAAAAAAH!" He roared, ripping the clothes he had off with his claws, and throwing them in a random direction before dashing out the door to let the rain wash him off. As soon as he opened the door he was immediately swamped by the rain, washing everything save for his very own scales off of him and chilling him to the bone. "WAAAAAH!" He screeched, backpedaling and face planting in the mud. Shivering, soaked to the bone, and ass nekkid. Thankfully because he was reptilian he could still keep it G rated, but he was still naked and cold and covered with mud. He laid there for a few more seconds before he slowly pushed himself into a sitting position, and stood up. He hugged his own body, trying to conserve heat. Muttering a string of curses Henry stalked towards the door, ready to enter and go out on a hunt for sources of heat that weren't bodies, or a towel, or both.

"What the hell?!" Theresa asked as she heard the bestial roar of Henry and him slamming against the ground making a loud splashing sound in her vomit. Getting it all over the place. Some of it even splashed on Theresa. For a second, she was mortified. She feared her secret getting out... Only to realize that there's no way to trace it back to her. So everyone can get high off her magical vomit all they want! The last thing Theresa heard was the doors opening and someone scrambling out. It was probably Henry... She wasn't sure if he could even get affected. He's big as hell, and has a differing biology from everyone here. Theresa also heard another person walking out, and was about to follow when she realized that she had a bit of a problem. "... Oh... Oh, oh!" A big problem, she might add! She was glad that the room was so dark right now, because nobody was supposed to see this.

Theresa was going to sit tight for a moment.

That's when Victoria, who followed immediately after him, exited the door and running into him just outside the cafeteria doors. She decided that she had to make things clear between them and confess. Not even realizing that she instictively followed after him and that she was still only wearing her bra, she stood before him, closed the door behind them and after filling her lungs with enough air to contain the stress, she started:

"Please wait Henry! I need to talk to you about something! I am sorry for not coming to the expedition with you and that I couldn't protect you! I l..."

"Ehhh, bonjour? I'm perfectly fine." Henry said, stepping back so his torso wasn't becoming an air bag cusion to Victoria's impact, his eyes darting straight up as to not stare down the fact that she was in her underwear. "No need to apologize, I'm glad you didn't." he said, quickly realizing what he had said, he corrected himself. "Not that I didn't want you to, but you could've gotten hurt, and..." he trailed off, before pinching the bridge of his snout. "You know what I'm trying to say. You dont need to worry about me."

Victoria was casually interrupted by Henry, but right now, she was so eager to convey her feelings to Henry, that she felt that nothing could stop her. Of course, nothing is an exaggeration. Just before opening her mouth once again to speak, Victoria finally took notice that she was standing in front of Henry in her bra, which was by now soaked enough by the rain to be called a see-through. After letting out the most feminine scream she has ever produced, Victoria forgot everything about the confession and barged right back inside the Cafeteria, closing the door with Henry outside.

Henry heard her scream and instinctively looked down, to see Victoria cover her breast area and then run back inside, leaving him out in the rain. Henry's face contorted into a perfect line, and for a moment he simply just stood there, before he looked over to the side, seeing a nearby palm tree. With the precision and accuracy and strength of a practiced veteran, Henry grabbed the base of the palm three and slamed his head into, causing the whole tree to shake a few coconuts to fall down in the mud next to him. With one hand he rubbed his forehead, and with the other he ready down and grabbed a coconut, and stabbed his thumb claw into it, splitting it open. He then turned it and let all the liquid inside drain into one half, then split it and downed the liquid inside the coconut. He had no alcohol on him but he felt drinking something after his latest failure was appropriote.

"Well, that went about 3.52 times better than what the worst case scenario was." he said to himself as he walked back into the cafeteria, depositing the coconut inside one of the trash cans, and not giving a fuck that he was absolutely soaked, and shivering. As he walked in the girl from earlier that had sparked the whole situation asked if there was any news. "Oh yeah! They told me over the PA system that isn't working!" He said in the most sarcastic manner possible. "No, I'm a teacher and nothing has been shared with me yet. And please use you inside voice." he said, rubbing his head after the headache he had given himself to induce a hangover-esque symptom after drinking the coconut juice. Loud noises hurt, just like they would after a hangover. Unfortunately/fortunately the headache was already subsiding due to his ability to heal.

Theresa had taken a seat in the room. She gave herself a moment or two to calm down - or face a embarrassment like no other. Though, the screaming outside helped that! Before Victoria rushed back in, followed by Henry. Geez. What did LaRousse see out there that made her freak out? Did she learn about Henry's double donger surprise? That would make anyone flip out. But Theresa remained silent, with a slight grin on her face as she tapped her knees with her palms. Some other chick mentioned something about when they said the power would be back. Well, no. How the hell are they supposed to even tell anyone with no lights? Smoke signals? Messenger pigeon? Telegram? Bah.

"Dunno," Theresa replied cheerfully to Alieen. "We didn't get any messenger pigeons yet!" She followed it with a brief bout of giggling. She felt like making a comment about liking the view Alieen gave her, but she thought it'd be best to keep that one to herself. She might cause a deadly case of rustled jimmies syndrome! But still, a little thank you was in order. "Thanks." She said to Alieen, seemingly randomly. Before laughing to herself.

Codi Bailey and Rosette Sauveterre

Codi was leery about making introductions to strangers in the dark, but decided it might be better, in her case, if people judged her based on personality, versus the way she looked. “Nice to meet you, Theresa!” she replied to the introduction with friendly enthusiasm. She then fell silent as another conversation ensued, and then, after the flash of light, and what she saw in it, was very uncomfortable, to say the least. She wound up punctuating the silence with a nervous, uneasy laugh, although there wasn’t any real joy in it. It was more sheepish and embarrassed, and quickly ended with a quiet, “Oh…my…” As she had nothing really appropriate to say in reaction to the turn of events.

Codi had suspected there might have been people who could produce light, obtain something that did, or see in the dark, so she hadn’t expected that people would do things, believing that nobody would see them. She also did not quite get what was happening, but she suspected she was better off not knowing at all. She had only seen the light for a second, enough to see the French woman—Victoria? And Henry reacting with shock, and then where he was shut out of the cafeteria. She was completely silent for a moment, before nervously laughing with Theresa, whose problem she did not notice, as she couldn’t take in the entire scene within such a short time frame. She wasn’t laughing because of the idea of messenger pigeons, but mostly because laughing was something she felt a compulsion to do with other people, and it helped relieve the anxiety.

“Codi, are you alright?” Rosette asked, the voice coming from close by her. Rosette had been forced to move, as Henry had nearly crashed into her in the process of charging out of the cafeteria. She was very quick, though, and was therefore unharmed. She had landed very close to Codi in her dodging attempt.

Codi yelped, “How do you keep sneaking up on me?” She exclaimed.

“Aside from the sound of my voice, there is nothing that allows others to detect my presence. I make no ambient noise, nor do I have a scent or heat signature. It may be a hindrance, seeing as I cannot see in the dark any better than you can, and people may have a tendency to trip over me.” She said. She then asked her question again, “Are you alright?” She repeated.

“Uh, yeah, just a little weirded out…what just happened?” Codi asked, uneasy.

“I am not quite sure, nor am I positive that I wish to know. This school is quite a strange place, and I think perhaps that it might be a bit dangerous, as well, considering the information I have gathered, so far.”

“I think I agree with you. Also, doesn’t the weather seem really weird, to you? Did you hear any thunder before that lightning hit?” Codi asked.

“As a matter of fact, no, and I had been thinking that was quite unusual, as well. Is it a regular weather pattern on this island, or was it deliberate? Nothing is impossible.”

“I don’t know where this school is located, so I don’t know what the weather pattern would be, although we’re somewhere in the tropics, so storms like that could possibly hit. I really don’t know, but I’d look it up if I could. I’d like to know about this sort of thing so I could be better prepared for it.” Codi told her.

“Well, if there were any notable fauna on this island, that would be a very quick way of determining where we are, or, at least, the general vicinity.” Rosette said. “After all, animals aside from birds or sea-faring creatures cannot travel off the island, so they would become distinct as a population due to the isolation.”

“Well, I’m not really familiar. I know there’s lots of palm trees and that some of them grow coconuts, but I wasn’t looking that close. Coconuts don’t even help the case, they’d just drift in the current and go somewhere else. For all I know, someone planted the trees.”

It seemed that the main reason Codi and Rosette got along was because they both shared an analytical side that made them work well together when solving a problem.

Aileen O'Reilly

Aileen’s short burst of light caused more chaos than she had intended. Some large creature fell on the floor, screamed and burst out of the cafeteria. If she’d been anywhere else than in school it probably would have frightened her some, but here she’d gotten used to reacting with a deadpan reaction to everything lest people make fun of her for jumping at nothing.

Yuyu laughed at all the chaos, until he was hit by some unknown substance. He yelped in his whistling way, jumped off of Aileen’s shoulders and gestured for her to clean it up. She was about to use her hands when she noticed the awful smell of it. “No, go get some paper or something.”

He climbed off of the table, just as another scream could be heard. Aileen wondered why these people had to scream at every turn of events. Yuyu could be heard bumping against a few chairs and tables on his journey to find some paper to clean himself with.

She put her feet up on the table, and leaned back in her chair with her hands behind her head. Aileen felt pleased with herself. If she could cause situations like these just by entering a room she’d never have to think up a new prank to pull on people. It might get boring if it was that easy though.

It was more than a little surprising to her when one of them in the room claimed to be a teacher after giving her a very sarcastic response. Not the good kind of teacher then, she had to assume. What was a teacher doing here anyway? She thought they’d at least make it seem like they were trying to help solve the problem. Maybe they were keeping an eye on the students, but that wasn’t going very well either if her entrance was any hint to how things had been in here.

Some kid said they didn’t know yet either because of messenger pigeons. She had no idea what that had to do with anything. The same kid thanked her for some reason that Aileen must have missed. There was chatter and laughter, but she couldn’t hear what they said. The situation made her feel kind of like a fool.

“Sure, any time.” She responded, thinking it was the chaos she’d caused that was the reason she thanked her.

Yuyu returned, acting a bit odd, but carrying as much paper as he could. It was a considerable amount, making him look a little like a mummy. However, there wasn’t much to clean now. Aileen wiped off the little that was left, as the rest had been absorbed by his body. She hoped it wasn’t fatal to him. “Ugh, you’re gonna need a bath…”

“Why are you all in here if you haven’t heard anything?” Aileen asked, after finishing wiping Yuyu and removing all the paper. He sat on the table, whistling while swaying his head back and forth. She wasn’t sure if she should expect any real answer from this crowd regarding that either, so she asked a question they may actually be able to answer. “Does anyone here know my new roomie? I think she was named Kade, or something like that.”

Quinn Daives

She fucked up...Her first chance to make a friend at this school, and she fucks it up. What idiot that knows she suffers from low blood sugar and sodium forgets to eat lunch? Which, of course, led to passing out in the middle of the hallway like a bitch and getting a concussion from hitting the goddamn floor. Ow, by the way...That led to a quick check up. Ugh, and don't get her started on her medication or, lack thereof. She'd been getting reduced doses of it to keep from overwhelming her body in the middle of the school move, which led to her body, hormones, and emotions going wonky.

Right jab, left cross, duck, swerve, right jab, right hook...The sound of flesh solidly connecting with the punching bag calmed her greatly. She'd been in the gym since her hospital check as a way to calm down. It wasn't the best thing to use but, it was effective in keeping her levels balanced well enough. Her routine was the same as it'd been at home: stretch, warm up run, weight and resistance training, contact training, then cooldown. For today, she decided to take it easy and just train on her strikes and kicks. Right knee, left back kick, step, left side kick to a hook kick, step, back elbow--And lights are gone. Quinn shifted and searched the bag with her hands and body with a frown. Her body ached wonderfully from the work out, which was a welcomed change to the constant ache of unintended anger and arousal she'd been plagued with lately.

Carefully, she walked over to her gym bag and felt around for her juice and towel. After a quick wipe over her face, she piped the bottle open and drank down the liquid. Quinn hated the taste, and couldn't help the grimace that flashed across her face. The girl packed up her things and pulled off her lightly weighted braces from her legs and wrists. She felt around for anything she might have left then laid down on the cold mat. A groan of frustration left her chest at the interruption of her workout, and the coolness of the floor was having the opposite effect on her overheated body. She stood again, grabbed her things and stumbled her way out of the gym. She needed a cold shower...sooner rather than later. Now...how to find her dorm room while it is dark as dickholes...

Nicholas Raynor, Deborah Termellio, Jago Javuant, Shannon Balore, & Ben Voss.

Nicholas couldn't help but barely resist doing a literal facepalm at the current situation at hand. Not only was Shannon being a complete jerk, which was something he had been warned about, but she was outright littering just because it was dark? Ugh. She certainly seemed like a typical asshole who had everything handed to her...no. Nicholas, calm down. She's just human, just like the rest of us...metahumans. Okay, that didn't make as much sense as it should have. Either way, he shook his head and followed after Deborah as she walked off, providing a great deal of light to the group via his flame. Maybe he was misunderstanding something...maybe a reason why Shannon was being this way. Hrm. And then there was the fact that he heard the other female of the group, one he hadn't met before, timidly disagree with their choice...he had to admit, just having someone a little bit more nervous than he was around felt...almost a bit nice. Not because she was scared...but to have someone who was a bit like-minded to his hesitance, even on different matters, was endearing...then again, he shouldn't assume this is why she is right now. Maybe she just didn't like the dark. Nicholas smiled at her, before speaking. "Don't worry. We'll be fine. I'm sure of it." He stated, as for once, he sounded a bit more confident than usual. Was he putting on a mask of sorts, or just putting away some of his own inner dread to help someone? Eh, who knows. Maybe a little of both, maybe neither at all.

As they continued on, a sound caught his ear. The sound of crashing, and then thrashing of what sounded like metal. His eyes dashed towards the source, but his flame could only illuminate so far. So he simply let Deborah do the talking to the big guy. Yeah, its strange he found him here, but he couldn't read what he was trying to make out with his muted motions. Somehow, Deborah managed to pull a mind-read of sorts and figure out what all was going on. And then Nicholas heard the name of the culprit, and he cringed a bit. Damnit, it had to be that kid, didn't it? He shook his head, following after Deborah and leaving the others behind, a silent anger burning within him. He had taken the levels of bullshit he had gotten from Jago before, but now? This? No, no, no. None of that. He followed alongside Deborah, lighting her way, and once they found Jago, he stood back for a moment, letting Deborah grab ahold of Jago after some comments and then moving alongside her, staring at Jago. "You know man, I knew you had some issues, but -this-, dude? This is pretty stupid of you to do."

Ooooh, White-boy wants to comment? Like he's mother-fuckin-Teresa. Pa-lease. Jago had to resist rolling his eyes. "Look here, Nicky-boy," Jago started off, pointing at Nicholas, "You finally got enough balls to say something? Please. Just shut yo' damn mouth." Because Nicky-boy needs to learn that he's a bitch - and nothing but a bitch. You can't stop being a bitch just because you want to. Or else they wouldn't be any bitches in the world! Bitch.

"God dammit, Jago," Deborah started off, even angrier that her cousin had the gall to start mouthing off at people for telling him the obvious. Yes, what he did was stupid as all hell, because this boy had little to no sense. "Shut. Up."

Nicholas found himself surprised. Not because of Jago's attitude, no, that was typical. He had expected -that- from the get-go. He found himself surprised at Deborah's burst of anger. For someone so kind...to become so angry, this issue must be very close to her. He tilted his head at her. Maybe he could do something to help...-yes-. There was something he could to do help. He slowly moved to place his right hand on her shoulder, not trying to do so hard or notably, but rather, a light touch. And with that touch, thanks to the flame on his right hand, a small jolt of morale-based energy likely would move through her body, at least, temporarily, allowing her to see beyond her anger and maybe feel a bit more in control of herself. After all, the last thing she needed to do is blow her lid like a volcano. He remembered the last time he did that himself, and frankly, it wasn't pretty.

The moment Nicholas touched her, Deborah's power went into action (He is attempting to calm you down, he doesn't want me to lose control of myself). How sweet, but Deborah is fully in control of herself. But she felt the envigorating effects course through her body. She let an exhale out and smiled. "Thank you, Nicholas," She said with a smile. She couldn't help but express her gradtitude. "But I am in control of myself." One thing Deborah knew was that she should never lose control of her temper. She let go of Jago.

Jago rolled his eyes, but was relieved when Deborah let go of him. Looks like White-boy doesn't even have the gall to respond to him. Probably knew he didn't have the balls after all. Hahaha!

Ben walked in at this point, holding a stick of corn inside a bag he had found over Nick's fire. He placed his hand on the top, and held it there, and after a few seconds of constant popping, his popcorn was ready. He lacked the ability to create butter, as dairy production was outside of his control, or salt or any of that, but he was a rough and tasteless fellow, so he could tough out based popcorn without much difficulty. He held some out to any of the group, offering the bag for anyone to take from should they want popcorn/have the ability to produce salt and or butter.

Shannon took some popcorn. It was delicious.

Nicholas looked up at Ben. Huh. Curious. He hadn't thought about using his fire to cook foods before, so...perhaps there were other uses to his powers. Hrm. He smiled at Deborah, ignoring Jago's eye rolling. The guy obviously thrived off of arguments, and when he didn't get it, he wasn't happy. Well, he wasn't indulging him any more. "Right. Should we get going?" He asked, his eyes scanning over the room to make sure they hadn't forgotten anyone. -Including- the female who's name he hadn't gotten yet. He would prefer not to leave anyone behind. "After all, maybe we can figure out a way to get the power back up once we find the issue."

Ben smiled at his inginuity. He was finding more and more uses for powers everyday, from saving lives to doing everyday tasks! He was a mute genius! Just like Beethoven except mute instead of partially blind and deaf! And with powers instead of music (unless you count the kazoo, he was good at teaching people to play that somehow, and he was excellent at the grasswhistle).

The perceptive teen wondered if Ben was truly an idiot. Probably. What did matter was that he was offering everyone some popcorn! Deborah couldn't help but take a handful. She smiled and let out a "Mmmmmm..." sound as she chewed on popcorn. But, oh yeah! They should be getting a move on now. Their business in the lounge was over. "Alright, everyone, for real this time, let's get the hell out of here." Deborah quickly walked through the doors of the lounge - because she wanted to get the hell out of here.

Ben followed the scrubs, holding his popcorn like the boss he was.

Red Winston

The gathering of a crowd this big annoyed Red. Deborah set out somewhere as soon as she heard a noise, it wasn't hard to deduce that her powers told her something that piqued her interest. Most of the group followed after the unofficial leader of the Mystery Hunters (even though some of the people were not part of the group and it wasn't an event for the Mystery Hunters to explore at all), leaving Red with Poppy. The guy who lit the surroundings moved along with the rest, taking away the light source from where they were to Deborah's location. Another person was there along with Deborah, maybe a relative of some sorts to her, from the characteristics he had. Nothing of interest to Red. In contrast to Deborah, Red was only interested in serious matters, not every little secret and situation around him.

He took this chance to think what he should do. Going along with the rest was an option he did not deem possible, wanting to be away from crowds. The only reason to gather with crowds so far was for his own self-interests and since there wasn't something to accomplish, he didn't have any reason to tag along. He decided to try and find the central power equipment of the Academy and see if he could do anything about it. Of course, there would already be some kind of engineering team that would look after the operation, but Red could probably repair the damage faster. Electronical engineering was one of the many fields he knew and he could pinpoint the problem easier than many experts in the field. There was also Poppy to think about, however.

Judging from her reactions, Poppy would be more than happy if Red left to bring the power back. She was probably really uncomfortable with the darkness. Worst case scenario, she would tag along with him, something that Red didn't mind. As far as Red knew, Poppy wasn't an oppresive person, thus, she wouldn't get in his way or be annoying. Plus, one person is not a crowd, especially since she already knew her. With that in mind, he said:

"Poppy, I am going to check on the problem with the power, before things get hectic and people start panicking. It might take a while to be back, since I don't know where the power generators are located, so you might want to go along with Deborah. I would suggest you don't come along with me if you consider it an option, but I won't object if you want to."

Having said that and taking advantage of the darkness, Red walked away from the lounge through the mass of students and headed out. He didn't say anything to Deborah, she was busy with her own business. The first place he decided to check out was the Administration building. If the generators weren't there, at least Red would find a clue as to where their location was.

(These events occured while the group was concerned with Jago, so Red left before the others and is not in the room)

The dead cannot cry out for justice. It is a duty of the living to do so for them.
-Lois McMaster Bujold

Henry Olin, & Theresa Obott

Henry sighed and moved over to a chair, and sat down, settling in quickly. It had been a long day for him, and people asking stupid questions didn't help.

"Well if you check your watch, you'll see it's about 7:30 in the evening or so." Henry replied, relaxing into his seat a bit more. He didn't wear a watch, none were ever big enough for his wrist, and none were durable enough to survive the wear he'd no doubt put them through. He had checked the clock before the power went out though, it had been about 7:12 or so at that time. "So I'll let you fill in the blanks on what people would be doing in the cafeteria around dinner time. It's a fill in the blank question." he said. If she couldn't answer that one, he'd have to talk to an admin about who they were letting onto the campus because he didn't want to teach young adults who barley passed the third grade, if that. He chuckled at Theresa's joke.

Alieen, Codi, and Rosette were all being annoying to Theresa. It made her roll her eyes how silly things had gotten. Rosette and Codi were having a rather pointless conversation (This island is in the damn carribean, where else would it be?) and Alieen was asking stupid questions (We're in here playing naked twister! What else do you think we're doing, lady? Eating.). It was a shame that everyone had started being so... unfun....that she had no choice but to sit around playing with her thumbs and hope things start being interesting. Though, Alieen did mention Kade - her longtime friend. "Oooooh, Kade? She my homegirl."

Lightning cracked close by, causing the whole building to shudder from the amount of force behind it. The lights briefly flickered before the room once again was dark. Henry yelped in surprise at the strike, falling out of his chair and smacking his chin soundly on the ground. He lay there for a few seconds, simply breathing, before his eyes slowly opened. He smelt something. Something odd, something he had smelt before. Many times before. Metallic and liquid. He pushed himself up onto all fours, and followed his nose and tongue. His forked tongue flicked in and out of his mouth, working in tandem with his nose to find the direction the sound is coming from. It was strong now. Henry didn't know it yet, but he had tracked the scent into the electricity room. The scent was strong now. Henry was so focused he had closed his eyes and focused only slightly on thermal vision. His senses were so good from his power metastasizing for so long that focusing on two or three of them all the way was too much. Sensual overload to his brain that he couldn't handle yet.

His hand was placed down as he moved forward even more. He could taste the smell now. He went to move again, but stopped when the substance he had placed his hand in dawned on him. Focusing back to sight, Henry looked down. His hand was warm red and yellow. Normally his body was reddish or blue. His fingers were sticky from the substance, and it fell back to the ground like warm chocolate syrup. Henry leaned his head forward, and allowed his long forked tongue to go over the substance in a long and drawn out lick. It tasted like it smelled. Metallic, tasting coppery, and had a slight salty and sweet tang to it. It tasted like blood. Henry looked up from his hand, and looked around, before his eyes fell on the corner of the room, with the trail of blood following it, and a pool below it. Still red and yellow. Fresh, only a few minutes old.

He couldn't see it's face, but he could smell that it was feminine. She was stuffed against the corner in a semi awkward manner, as if forced into it. Her legs were positioned at an odd angle, and her muscles looked taught with adrenaline and fresh use and rigor mortis had yet to set in. Wounds lined her thighs, as if they had been cut. Her calves had been slit where they connected at the back of the knee, rendering the muscle group useless, and keeping her from running. One of her arms were limp against her body, soaked with blood that was still flowing from every wound. It was covering what he could only guess to be a particularly deep and painful stab would to the gut, that looked like it had been twisted and dragged downward, doing even more damage. But as he continued upwards, it got much worse. Her jugular vein hand been hacked and stabbed at viciously, with her trapezius muscles having been sliced clean from where it should've connected at the back of the neck. Her other hand had grabbed at her neck, but had only made it to her collar bone before she had died, causing it to rest against her breast, as if protecting her heart. Blood flowed freely from her neck, cascading down in a morbid waterfall. Her cheek on the same side of the neck wound had been cut wide open, causing her jaw to hang at an odd angle. There was a trail of blood soaked boot prints leading towards Henry, and out the back door, behind him, where the storm raged on, removing any trail of the attacker who had killed... no butchered, this woman.

Henry fell backwards on his rear, and kicked away from the corpse as if it were to move again. If he had the ability to vomit and cry, he would've. Instead he made a gagging sound and scrambled back against the wall, using it to push himself upward to standing and simply look at the scene before him. He couldn't tell who this was. No light entered this place. His eyes couldn't discern a detailed. But he couldn't handle this. He took one last look at the corpse before he scrambled out of the room, rushing back into the main cafeteria room. He couldn't say anything. Doing so in the darkness would do nothing but scare the students and cause chaos. He couldn't deal with that, not right now. He had to keep every calm. He couldn't help but shake though at what he had just seen, what he had just witnessed. He moved over to the emergency phone near the kitchen. He needed to call in as soon as the power came back on. This couldn't wait, and every second he did, it tore him apart a little bit more.

Hm? Theresa raised an eyebrow when something came scrambling back into the room like a scared animal. She casually turned her head towards the source and looked. Who was it? She didn't hear anyone leave, so that means this must be a newcomer. "Why hello there," the teen started off with a smile. "Dunno who you are, but why'd you run in 'ere like a madman? Seen a ghost?"

Henry froze at this, but replied to his friend none the less. "Y-you dont even know." Henry said. He had stuttered. He didn't do that often, not even when he faced down Jaska in beast form. He shook his head. "I need you all to stay in here, okay? I need to keep an eye on you all until the power comes back on for safety reasons." he explained. "Just... just trust me on this one."

Huh? It was Henry all along? Damn that scaly lizard-man quiet - she didn't hear a thing! That made her briefly wonder where he went. He just dipped for a second to take a lizard-piss? And why is he so jittery all the sudden? The problem with that is that Theresa doesn't really know how to ask, and just would rather keep her mouth shut and keep having fun. Besides! The girl has just thought of many jokes to make! It's going to be hi-lar-i-ous. She slung her saxophone over her shoulder and took some small steps over to where she last heard Henry.

"Waaaait," Theresa started off, with a toothy grin, "Did you and Toria try to engage in some coitus while we weren't looking? Are you crazy!? Your double-donger surprise too much! Did you kill her with 'em?!" She whispered, covering her mouth to surpress the giggle. "Don't worry, Lizard-man, I got your back. I'll help you hide what's left and we-"

Henry reached over and grabbed Theresa by the front of the shirt with the hand that wasn't covered in blood, and pulled her close to him. He craned his neck down to where just the edge of his snout was next to her ear. "Theresa, shut up." he said, his head retracting to look around the room to see if anyone was paying attention. Seeing none, he leaded back down to whistper to her. "I found a body. I need to keep everyone calm and within my sight, myself included, in case whoever did it is still around." he said, before releasing her and takign a step away. "Please help me with that." he finished, releasing a shaky, pent up breath that fell from his nose as he exhaled like a rough and choppy wave. It was dark and not many in the room had the means to defend themselves like he did if they were attacked. He needed to be there to warn and help them. He hoped that he wouldn't have to do either, at least not until the power came back on.

Holy shit. Holy shit. There's a... dead body? Whoa, whoa, whoa, this isn't what they said in the brochure. Her heart started racing as her gut was filled with a horrid feeling. Someone just killed someone. That was... awful. "I..." Theresa started twiddling her thumbs as she looked around and desperately tried to come up with something. Jesus, she only wanted to fool around. Dead bodies were too intense for her. Then there's going to be poli- oh God... she's going to be a suspect in all of this. She didn't know how to handle this! She can't handle this. So many thoughts and emotions whirling around in her head right now. She didn't know how to process all of them. Theresa knew that even joking around wouldn't be able to help her.

She felt like she was cornered here... She looked around, but still saw nothing but darkness. There was no way out.... but she had no choice here. Without a word, Theresa pulled that saxophone that was hanging off her back. Well, she had no other what would keep them calm other than a little bit of jazz. Because she was on the verge of a freakout herself. Theresa inhaled as she put the tool to her lips. "Alright, y-ya'll," Theresa started off, "Im-imma play you all a s-s-ong..." She started playing the only song that made sense.

"Kade?" the raven haired girl heard her name get called out, "You're just in time, friend! We were about to play some twista! Want in?"

Kade blinked, unable to see and confirm if they actually were playing twister. "Err-... I'll pass on the twister, thanks, though."

She shuffled forward a bit, her hands out and waving to make sure she didn't bump into anything. When she found a chair to sit in, she plopped down and gave a very long sigh. Then out of nowhere, A SUDDEN FLASH OF LIGHT! Kade jumped at the flash, and got a shiver when she heard the bonechilling screech let out by Godzilla. She didn't notice the topless girl. Kade planted a hand on her heart and breathed out slowly, "Jesus! Don't just light up like that out of nowhere! Haven't you ever had the lights turned on when your eyes were adjusted to the dark?" she grumbled at the person, she didn't get a good look at her.

“Does anyone here know my new roomie? I think she was named Kade, or something like that.” the lightbulb spoke.

Kade perked up and looked in the general direction, she didn't want to answer right away . When Theresa mentioned that Kade was a good friend of her's, she nodded, "You know it, Theresa. Good thing it's dark, I'm not very presentable at the moment, I'm all wet and dir-" she stopped herself, "Soaked and covered in-" she sighed and tried again, "Dripping with rainwater and all muddy." Kade took the moment of silence to clear her throat, good thing her blush couldn't be seen; also, maybe it was a good thing that no psychics were around to see her mind in the gutter.

"I need you all to stay in here, okay? I need to keep an eye on you all until the power comes back on for safety reasons." Kade heard Henry, "Just... just trust me on this one."

Then she heard Theresa respond, "Waaaait, did you and Toria try to engage in some coitus while we weren't looking? Are you crazy!? Your double-donger surprise too much! Did you kill her with 'em?!" there was a giggle, "Don't worry, Lizard-man, I got your back. I'll help you hide what's left and we-"

When Theresa was cut off and a brief shuffle was heard, Kade raised a brow, "Hm? Theresa?"

Suddenly the saxophone began to play, it was suspicious to say the least. Kade took in a deep breath, she was soaked, cold, in the dark and getting a bit nervous now. She simply sat in her chair and waited quietly, keeping her ears open for more people.

In the dark crepuscule Aislin felt a creeping evil, a familiar demon. The blackness held the hot devil's breath on her neck. For just a moment, Adam and Dana faded to the background. Her imagination painted a hovering cigarette light playing off the shadows, the air smelling of cherry smoke.

His words rang clear in her mind, spoken by the devil's tongue. "I'm wondering why a little child like yourself is wandering around these neck of the woods all by yourself...."

What a malicious, fear-inspiring being. How did one become to be so wicked? She didn't know his name, nor a thing about him. But his presence cratered hers in the brief time their paths twisted. Irrevocably, she was scarred, traumatized. He would be the source of her nightmares for a long time to come, she knew.

His words were all too fitting, dwelling on it now. "... Don't you know there's monsters out there?" Shivers tickled her spine with clammy fingers. The fear felt branded to her heart, permanent and cruel.

A blinding light interrupted the darkness, forcing a strangled whimper from Aislin. It was merely the teacher, and as always he had just what they needed. Adam pressed a second flashlight into her hands, which she took gratefully. Sometimes her mind was too vivid, even for her own liking. She quickly flashed the device on, sweeping a bright spot of light over where she imagined the glowing cigarette. Somehow it made her feel better. Just slightly.

Adam actually agreed with her. Maybe paranoia was an asset here. "I get the feeling that something is strange here. Because blackouts on this scale are very rare..."

Aislin was silent, still hung up on the whole experience she had in the caves. Who wanted the stranger... Well, killed? What was his connection to the blue lady? What was their purpose on the island? And the killer himself, specifically... Was it a one-time deal, or would he strike again? And who, not what, killed the school's power?

The questions piled up, and Aislin had nothing. Her single lead was finding the blue lady. Who else would have her answers? Of course, she went about it all wrong before. Would she even have the guts to pursue such a hellish quest? No... At least, not alone.

Adam gave them a plan of action. "We are going to head to the only place I know has power; the hospital."

Aislin nodded, but she was puzzled. "How do you lock a school down in a blackout? I'm a little worried about everyone floundering about out there..."

They'd have to take this one step at a time. Her own agenda would have to wait. And she needed some down-time, now more than ever. Today was just a mess; she swore it was a new record for shittiest, most near-death kind of day she'd ever experienced. Two attempts on her life, she tripped on powerful drugs, woke up in a hospital, plus she busted her phone and was in serious need of a shower. Yeah, when this power outage was taken care of she was peacing.

As Adam held the Training Hall doors open for them Aislin placed herself behind Dana's chair, wheeling her onto the path outside. Eh, she figured she'd save Dana's arms the trouble. Besides, she wanted her opinion.

"You've been here longer than I, Dana." She began, knowing years couldn't help much in their current situation. She pressed on anyway. "Have you ever seen anything like... This? I don't just mean the lockdown. I mean, what happened at the caves. Would the killer be the type to strike again?"

"Revenge is an act of passion; vengeance of justice. Injuries are revenged; crimes are avenged."
-Samuel Johnson

Henry Olin, & Theresa Obott

Someone stuck their dick back into the power outlet and turned the lights back on!

Right in the middle of Theresa's saxophone concert, the lights immediately came back on. And thank God. That was a sign of relief! Now Theresa can actually bloody see. But she was still worried. If Henry was right... Her head darted around the room, desperately scanning for - she didn't even know. She just wanted to see. Pool of her own vomit... Check. There was Rosette, Henry, Victoria, Kade and the two newcomers - waaaait? Why is there Blood on Lizard-man's hand? Theresa's gaze didn't leave Henry for even a second - she wasn't even being subtle. Normally, she would have made a masturbation joke, but she knew that Henry's blood was a different color... Was it green, blue or...? She didn't know, nor did she really stop to consider it. All that mattered was that there was blood on his hand.

"I stepped in it." Henry said, his eyes watching Theresa's expression. He wanted to make sure she didn't think that he killed anyone. He turned away from her for a moment, and proceeded to use one of the phone that had been placed in every building around campus, to be used in emergencies and times where teachers required assistance. Or worse- backup. There was only one line the phone led to, which was the administation building. It began ringing as soon as Henry pulled it off it's rest.

Theresa gently placed her sexophone on the nearest table, careful enough not to cause a sound. She quietly followed after Henry. To at least hear what's he's going, and, more importantly, what he's talking about.

It rang for another few seconds before one of the people behind the scenes of 218 picked it up. In the background Henry could hear yelling and other calls, along with more general ruckus. It seemed many teachers and staff were calling in. "Hello?" The woman who answered him said, her voice tired from comminicating so quickly with so many other people. She seemed out of breath. "What's the damage?" She followed up quickly. Henry breathed for a moment. "This is Doctor Henry Olin calling in." He began. He heard the woman tap away on her computer on the other line. "Teacher access number?" She asked. "5563." Henry said. "There's been an accident. I haven't seen who yet, but what I presume to be a student is either badly injured..." He said, his voice falling low for a moment. There was a gasp on the other side of the line. "...Or dead here in the cafeteria. I smelt it and followed and came across the body in the caferteria electricity room. I have one student who I have shared this with. She will be with me." Henry said. He heard the woman call someone over and a man in the background read over the logs. There was more yelling, and soon the man in the background picked up the phone. "We'll have someone there right away Dr. Olin. Do you know who did it or the location?" He asked. "No, I saw boot prints leading outside, but they got muddled up in the rain." ther was more ruckus in the background. "Meet us there. Dont let anyone else see the body."

The line cut.

It was exactly what Theresa thought it'd be - well, it was what Henry said it was. A... murder. Really, it was hard to think about as she thought it was. The mere thought of a murder being commited on school grounds really got to the girl. But that raised the question of who did it. It could have been anyone in here.... Theresa nervously looked at the group in the cafetera, she tried to hold back the shaking. Everyone here... she knew them... she knows them, right? Victoria, Henry, Kade - but just who are these newcomers? Theresa was a kind and open person, who rarely assumes the worst about people; but she was really doubting some of the people here. After all, she doesn't really know any of the people here. Worst of all would be Rosette. The girl did casually dropped that she threatened to kill someone. Well. Theresa was going to give her the benefit of the doubt here. But still... Little Ms. Jailbait could do something wrong.... That was when Mr. Dr. Professor Olin started barking orders.

"Victoria!" Henry hollared. "You're in charge. Dont let anyone out of your sight. No one leaves the building." He said. His voice had an edge to it. It wasnt the friendly and kind voice he normally had. It was solid, angry almost. "Theresa, come with me." He said, grabbing her wrist with the hand that didn't have blood on it, a little too forcefully, and oulled her along back to the hallway he had found the body. "Stay here." He said, stopping her outside the room's entrance. The whole area smelt of death and pre rot and blood. He reached in and flipped the light on in the room, and peered his head around the side. It was hard to tell with the laceration to the face, and with both her eyes swollen and black and her nose somewhat disfigured, but he could recognize her... Somewhat.

It was Vera. The girl he had known well, and very muched saved his life at one time.

He whipped back ground, and pressed his back up against the wall, and simply breathed. "It's Vera." He shuddered. "It's fucking Vera... God damnit." He said to himself, sinking down to his haunches.

Theresa quietly went along with Henry. She... personally was hoping that he would take her anywhere but where the dead body was. But that's where it looked like Henry was taking her. She had to roll her eyes. Henry told her to stay put outside - but this was clearly where the body was. Oh dear Jesus, why did Henry have to take her here of all places. That anxiety started creeping up her spine. But there was a bit of concern of who the dead guy was. Theresa slowly peaked into the room - but backed out right when something came into view. Dear God, I'm a bigger wimp than I thought. But she heard Henry mention something. Wait, wait, wait! Vera? No. It can't be. No, it shouldn't be. Vera Dublin was one of the nicest people here - like a big sister to Theresa. And she's... dead? Oh, no, oh, no, oh no...

Henry rested his arms on his knees, and let his head sink down behinds his heavily mutated and muscled scaly limbs. All he could do now, was wait. He had tasted Vera's blood. He had found her body. He was in the area when she was killed and he had not been paying any attention. He had done nothing, and he wondered if he would ever forgive himself for that. A few minutes had passed and several large men had flooded into the cafeteria by this point. Dressed up in what looked like police armor with batons and sticks and guns. The security force behind 218. Not often called upon, but existant never the less. These men were meta humans themselves, with strength and durability higher than most humans, but not to the level of some of the students, such as Henry himself. They were dressed up in black, wore sunglasses, and overall covered up. Their identities were neigh impossible to determine. As one entered the hallway they were in, Henry looked up, and stood to his full hieght, towering over the man, who had to be at least 6'4. Henry flagged him over, but before he approached he seemed to talk into his radio, and soon enough a few more came in with him. Some looking just as intimidating, but others seemed friendlier, dressed up in dark green over black. Paramedics. There were six in total. Four of which immediately rushed into the room, followed with two of the officers, while the other two officers and the last two paramedics addressed Henry and Theresa.

One approached Theresa, "Ma'am I need you to take a seat, he said, kneeling next to the wall and taking out a flashlight while one of the officers knelt next to him to speak to Theresa about what she knew, and go over her to adress any shock or other symptoms. The other two came over to Henry, one, a woman, going into his eyes with the flashlight and having him follow his hand to address shock. The woman quickly put gloves on and used a towel to whipe the blood off of Henry's hand, disposing it in a bad and giving it to the officer, who took it gladly.

Whoa, whoa. WHOA. This was not a good turn of events. First Tess learns that one of her closest friends here at the academy is dead... now she's getting interogated - well, no. It's not actually happening at the moment, but she knew it was going to come. She isn't a murderer! She's just a girl! Someone who never gets mixed up in these things! Just... What? Theresa was shaking, looking around. Desperately hunting for an exit. But there are none. She once again felt hopeless as she tightened up into the fetal position.

"How did you find the victim?" He asked. Henry shook his head. "I already explained this over the phone. I smelt blood, and followed the scent and... found her." Henry said, looking over just as the four paramedics came out of the room carrying a stretcher, which had a full black body bag on it. One of the officers that entered the room with them came out, marking a few signs of the struggle, including the boot prints left behind that lead to the back exit of the building. "What state was she in?" The officer continued. "I haven't touched her. I couldn't bring myself to." Henry said. Outside he could hear the sirens of the paramedic cars. "Did you see the-" the officer began. "No. I didn't" Henry hissed suddenly. "I didn't pay attention. I didn't know, and because I wasn't paying attention, someone died. This is my fault!" Henry shouted, not caring if the other students could hear him. The body bag was being marched out the front door anyways in broad daylight. Victoria's shirt be damned. "It's my fault." Henry said, his voice falling low into a whisper, before he sank down against the wall again. The officer nodded to the paramedic, and the two of them both stood up. They were about to leave, before Henry spoke up again.

"You better find who did this. Because if you dont, I will." He said, it was almost a threat, the way he spat it out. "And I'm sure there will be many with me."

This... this whole day just took a turn for the worse. It was bad enough knowing that there was a body in there, but watching as Vera's corpse was carted out... It almost reduced Theresa to tears. Why did it have to be her?! Why couldn't she just be having fun? Why... No. Theresa couldn't fight the tears back any longer. They just started flowing down her cheeks and hit the floor. She wrapped her arms around her mid-section tightly. All this chatter - It's just too much and she couldn't handle it. However, once Henry spoke, Theresa raised her head... He will find who did this. Someone will. Someone has to. This is a crime, against the good people on this island. Someone must help the helpness, as dead men tell no tales. Theresa... couldn't. She simply can't. This is just above her. She's not a hero.

She doesn't have the will and strength.

When the men finished assessing Theresa, having been informed that she had only been alerted of the event, they simply checked her over for shock and distress. Finding she was sick was something, but the paramedic knew there was nothing they could do for that now. They stood up and packed up their material. The woman who had been assessing Henry finally spoke up. "We'll get him." She said. "Dont say that to me. Say that to her." Henry replied, nodding down the hall towards where Vera's body had been carted off. He couldn't get the image burned into his mind out. Whoever did this to her... this was beyond terrible. Vera suffered horribly before she died. He knew it the second he saw her corpse in the light, the facial expression she had permanently frozen onto her face of fear. Henry stood up, and walked past Theresa. "Come find me, or Dana... when you're ready, okay?" he said, before continuing. He didn't have the heart to rush her. He was delicate himself right now, he could only imagine how she felt. He shook his head and entered the main room of the cafeteria, walking through and ignoring everyone. He had tunnel vision. He cut through the officers and paramedics like a knife though butter, they moved out of his way as if predicting where he would step and fearing being in his way. Soon enough he was out the door and in the pouring rain, and stopped outside. The cars were around, their bright lights flashing in the darkness the storm provided. Lightning struck in the distance. He shouted in the rain in anger. His shouts of rage and profanity quickly devolving into a roar. When he calmed down, he sagged, completely emotionally and physically spent from the day.

This wasn't over though. Not even close.

And Henry briefly wondered if it ever would be.

Adam Leo Blackmore, & Dana Lucille Alcott.
Aislin raised a good question, one that only Dana, or maybe Adam, could answer. Has she seen something like this before? Honestly, the question is no. Dana was a pretty old student here, who has gotten quite familiar with the school and how it operates. But nothing like this has ever happened before. There was the accidents that took place over the years - but those were open and shut types of things. Student gets a little too feisty in the arena and accidentally kills someone. Or someone has a breakdown and splatters everyone against a wall. That was the kind of thing Dana has seen before. Regrettably. A man getting shot in the caves? That was a whole new level... and it worried Dana. Were dark times on the way? It seemed that way. No matter how hard the blue eyed woman tried to deny it, times were changing. For better or worse...?

That was the question.

As she was getting carted through the rainy school grounds, she found herself being strangely silent. As if she was unsure of what to say. Which in a way was true, since she was so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she was a bit worried. It was difficult pushing those thoughts out of her head... which means she has no choice but to face them head on. "I... Never seen a-anything... like this before, Aislin, and..." The wheelchair bound girl trailed off - just looking for the right thing to say. "... I'm worried. Very worried. This doesn't feel like the Academy I spent seven years of my life in...." She shook her head. Dana usually didn't talk too much about her feelings, but she felt comfortable here. Between a friend and her mentor.

Once they were approaching the hospital, which was alight because of the backup generator, the power had come back on.

"Oh my." Dana said. She felt a bit more comfortable with the power on - under the watchful eye of the cameras. Plus, she's now human again. With Adam here, both of them should be safe.

Shortly after the lights came back on, Adam received a phone call, a very important phone call. He pressed his cellphone against his ear and listened to it. It took a moment or two for his eyes to widen. "... Good God..." Adam let out as he stared at his phone. He had received news of a murder. No.... no, no.... Not again. There can't be another murder today. Why today? The one day everything was supposed to go right. One thing was for certain.

He needed to be there.

"Ms. Alcott, I direly request that you stay with Aislin and head into the hospital. There is something I must attend to." Adam suddenly took off running - not the best stride, he was better when he was younger.

"Adam!" Dana outstretched a palm as she shouted at him, but he was already gone. What...? This early and he was leaving them behind. That was strange. But what he did learn from that phone call. "... I don't know what to do now. Head into the hospital?"
Deborah Termellio, Shannon Balore, & Jago Javuant.
Right when they were going nowhere fast, the lights came back on. Deborah let out a sigh of relief as she looked back into the lounge. "Hell yes!" She wondered what her little merry band should do next.

"... That was suspenseful." Shannon wrapped her arms around her chest as she looked over her shoulder. But as she looked into the room, she saw a curious sight. "... Huh?!"

Laid out in the middle of the middle of the lounge was Jago Javuant, spread eagle face down in a puddle of a red fluid. He was lifeless, he didn't move an inch as his hair and outfit were being soaked. Everyone gasped at the scene.

".... Argh, God dammit!" The supposedly dead guy groaned. "Fuckin' slipped!" Jago said as he jumped back up to his feet. He walked over to the group soaked in red gatorade. "Well, I'm bored. We gonna do something now or what?"

She checked her watch.

8PM, on the dot. Just like they promised.

"You might want to take this!" the man shouted over the rain, offering her an open umbrella. She hugged her coat closer to her body with one hand in a vain effort to keep warm as the water soaked through it. It was raining hard now. With the other she shook her hand in the direction saying 'no'. "It's no good!" she shouted over the howl of the rain, wind, and sea at the docks. "It'll just-" she began only for the umbrella to fold opposite to how it's supposed to. What she had predicted. "That!" she finished, shaking her head. She could hear sirens a little ways away, what was going on?

"You might want to get going then!" the man said, getting off the ship and hurrying away with the broken umbrella in his hands. "Head to the student lounge, last I heard your husband was there before the line cut out." he said, placing a crumpled and soggy map in her hands and opening it, pointing to the lounge and where she was. "You two have a room. He knows where it is. You find him, you find shelter!" he said, before quickly hurrying off. "Wait sir, I-" she began, only for the man to hurry off and miss her over the sound of the storm. She looked down at the map again, and sighed. The captain of the transport ship had been in semi-frequent contact with the island for a while and not too long ago the connection cut. Arriving on the island during a storm, with it being pretty damn dark, and sirens not far made her nervous. She took a step and nearly jumped out of her skin when another powerful lightning strike fired off not far from where she was. She let out a quick "EEP!" and hurried away and off the docks, trying to make sense of the crumpled map from tthe condensation on her glasses and through the rain and noise. As she hurried along she walked past what seemed to be ambulence cars. Her eyes bulged as someone or thing even bigger than Ben walked out of the building, and began shouting into the sky. It hadn't noticed her. So she hurried onward, but she couldn't help but wonder... had it spoken english?

After several minutes of running, she eventually happened upon what seemed to be the lounge.

She burst inside, heaping and gasping for air fromt he constant running, and immediately felt the tiredness she hadn't yet felt from the adrenaline of running through the rain in fear of being struck by lightning. The lights were on, and there seemed to be a boy, on the ground surrounded by a red liquid. It wasn't thick enough to be blood, but it seemed to scare the shit out over everyone, especially the biggest person in the room... Ben!

Ben, when the lights came on, gave what looked like a soundless scream and rushed over to Jago as if her was about to perform CPR on the poor African American boy. When he stood up, he wipped his forehead in relief, and looked like he was about to hug the kid. There was an African American woman, and a redheaded chick. Nice. Immediately she set up a connection with Ben's mind, and Ben whipped around to face her as she did so.

Before Ben could even notice her, Deborah had realized that Claire was there (The woman knows Ben well, likely a romantic interest of some sort). Oh, how cute. The Gentle-Giant has a girlfriend. That wasn't too unexpected, since it's all about finding the right one. Deborah's gaze briefly peered towards Shannon - before she had to smile. Yup. All about finding the right one. Deborah watched them though... they didn't utter a single word - which in Ben's case - (The woman is a telepath, and they are having a mental conversation) -.oooooh, okay. That makes sense. Deborah couldn't read the woman as accurately as everyone else. Deborah herself was going to watch as their mental conversation take place... She could see the similiarites between her mental conservations with Shannon.

"...Claire?!" she heard him think. One's voice translated into their thoughts much like how it would be if they were speaking. She had a great idea what Ben would actualy sound like, if he could actually speak. His voice was deep, exactly the kind of voice you would expect from a man like him, but it had a childish and friendly undertone to it, very different from what he could be.

"The one and only!" she replied, walking over with a big smile and hugging Ben, who went stiff as a board as her clothes were soaked and freezing cold.

"Cold!" she heard him think. She release the hug and gave him an apologetic look, and took a few steps back. She was about to reply, but Ben must've felt it, and beat her to the punch.

"Redhead is Shannon, really nice girl, can control cotton!" he though to her, motioning to Shannon wildly and striking a pose next to her. Then he wound up his arms and pointed to Deborah. "This is Deborah! I dont really know exactly what she does, but she's really close friends with Shannon!" and then he jumped over to Jago. "Jago is my brother from another much younger mother. He makes shields and steals things." he said, then he motioned over to Nicholas. "His fire makes EXCELLENT popcorn! Want some?" he thought to her, picking up the bag he had set down when the lights came back on and offering it to her. As he did so, she noticed that there were little glowing plants in his hands that he had no doubt been using at some point. They slithered under his sleeves and disappeared into the darkness, the glow fading away as if traveling far away. She took the bag of popcorn from Ben as she felt him realize something, and then ate as he did a frantic dance and showing the group his ring finger, taking off the simple golden band and holding it outwards, before pointing at her. She sighed at her husband's idiocy, with Ben not helping by adding "I also helped save them from a collapsing shipwreck!"

Nevermind he was ADHD as fuck when it came to though process. What the fuck did he do while she was gone (He didn't cheat on her, that's for sure!). Of course not cheating. Ben's too stupid to realize you can date other women while married and potentially get away with it. It was a no-no to him.

"I heard that." she heard him think.

"Sorry you all had to deal with that," she began. "Ben told me who you were, Shannon, Deborah, and Jago, correct?" she said. "I'm Claire. If you haven't figured it out, which is okay if you havent because Ben's terrible at chirades, I'm Ben's wife." she said. "It's a pleasure to meet you?"

"Yo, lady," Jago started off, turning towards Claire as drips of gatorade dropped off of him - he needed to take a damn shower. "How did Big-Man tell you shit? He ain't got no board." He raised an eyebrow. Jago sized up the woman - well, she was bigger than he was. And kinda looked a little Asian! Weren't they tiny and shit? Well, theres also plenty of rumours about them fucking tentacle monsters, but are those true? With this weird ass school, anything possible. Like that one guy who could mindfuck people. Or that one girl who could inflate her tits. Maaaan, that girl was awesome. Too bad she pushed herself and made her them explode in a cloud of milk and flesh. Oh! That reminded him... He looked up Claire's curvature and tiiiight. But nice tits, though. Jago laughed to himself as he thought.

Shannon rolled her eyes at Jago's rude comment. Of course the boy couldn't see outside the box just for one second - he wasn't the brightest light. Shannon herself could come up with a few theories on how this woman knows them. The easiest one had to be that Ben told her earlier today rather than recently. "Hello there..." Shannon said with a blank face. Personally, she didn't care too much for Claire right off the bat. Merely because she knew that she'd get a reason to dislike her... Though, that's what she thought about Ben before she... started.... liking him...

God dammit.

"Hello there." Deborah finally said something after scanning everyone else's reactions, and making up her own response.

Claire raised an eyebrow and took a second. It was much harder to do this with others not named Ben Voss. She took a moment, and after a few seconds felt Jago's mind in her own. She frowned at the mount of porn in his memory. Like, Jesus tapdancing Christ. "Like this. Honeslty, Pornhub isn't that good kid. Get to the good stuff." she projected. "Thanks for the compliment!" she thought in a whimsical tone. She briefly wondered what Ben would think of this. He'd probably want to strangle the poor kid for a second, but he'd sleep on it and nothing would change. "Tits, and mundane thoughts centered around porn. The usual." she commented, looking over at Shannon and waving. "Hello! It's a pleasure to meet you!" She then looked over at Deborah. "You're Deborah, yes? Ben's told me a lot about you two being really close friends." She said, walking forward and taking Deborah's hand and shaking it, and then doing the same for Shannon. "Jago is your cousin, yes?" She said, directing the question to Deborah.

It felt a bit... awkward... talking to a telepath. It sounded hypocritical given that her power was a living invasion of privacy (And she has commited many acts of invasion of privacy), but she was a Secret Keeper. Her head was full of things that she would rather keep private, and there was no way - that she can tell - she could stop it. For others, and herself. A telepath defeated the purpose of that epithet, didn't it? Worse of all, Claire could easily learn of the real relationship between herself and Shannon... They are more than just being close friends. Deborah was going to give her the benefit of the doubt and hope that she'll follow a mutal Secret Keeper agreement.

"Yes, yes, and yes." Deborah replied cheerfully, using a matching smile to mask her deep down thoughts and worries. "Deborah Termellio, Secret Keeper and..." She had to trail off, she figured that what she was going to say to Claire was best done... mentally. She extended her hand to Claire so she could shake it - but the moment she did, Deborah would send her a mental message of her own:

Hello, Claire, I'll cut to the chase, I know that you're a telepath. The way you know of things and how my power works tells me so. I need to ask that you keep anything you get out of my head, well, a secret. I know it sound odd, but I know things. Things that would... bother people if they ever got out. And I'm not just talking about me.

Upon shaking hands with Shannon she had set up something with Deborah, and cut the line she had with Jago. She wasn't good enough to be reading multiple people at once unless it was a 'group call'. As their minds linked, and she tuned in just as Deborah began to speak about how her power worked. She momentarily picked at her memoties and quickly realized why she was explaining this. "I understand." she replied. "Ben's secretly really worried about turning into a plant one day and would probably go ape shit if he heard me tell you this. Keep that a secret and I'll keep all of yours." she said, giving Deborah a smile to add a humorous tint, and winked.

Thanks. Deborah replied, mentally as always. She felt a bit relieved that Claire was willing to keep it all a secret - Claire even told her a secret of her own. Which was more or less sealing the deal. Deborah would never share a secret (at least, not intentionally). Everything that goes into her never comes out, and she intended on keeping it that way. Deborah broke contact with Claire and smiled.

Ben in the meantime was chasing Jago around with a poolstick attempting to bash his skull in and get around the shield.

"HAHAHA, ULTIMATE SHIELD, BABY!" Jago shouted as he laughed like a madman as Ben couldn't get through his shields. Nothing could. NOTHING! "CAN'T TOUCH THIS SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT!'" Your wife's tits are amazing!

"... Play nice you two..." Deborah had to moan as she facepalmed.

"Dear lord..." Shannon put her hands on her hips and let out a sigh. Looks like Ben and the Fool are going at it. With a pool cue. In the middle of a crowded room. For no reason at all. She'd expect this kind of behavior from Jago, but Ben? Maybe she got a little hasty. Though, she was curious about what was going on Debby-side. She got the feeling something was up. Maybe it was how Claire knew about certain things... Ah... Shannon guessed the woman was an Information type. Most likely telepath going off that "tits and mundane thoughts" off-comment. Otherwise Deborah wouldn't be this interestest would she? Ah, she must be worried about word of us getting out... I don't know why, we are something beautiful. Shannon thought to herself, she wasn't worried about a thing. Because Claire would learn about it either way.

Claire briefly heard Ben shout something in his own mind about Jago getting the ability to shield from DNA mixing with the torn condom his dad used that led to his birth. "Language!" she said to him. She had to keep her loveable man-child in line somehow. "There's something going on by the cafeteria. If any of ya'll know anything about that do tell. But I aint going out there again for a while." she said nodding over to the lounge doors.

Mark

Mark woke up. Not as though he were just breaking free of sleep while still remaining unwilling to get up; he was on wide awake. And he was face down on concrete in the pouring rain. He pushed himself up onto his elbows, and felt a throb of pain from his cheek. Touching it left blood on his fingertips. He pushed himself up to his feet and immediately a shock traveled through his left leg from his knee. Looking down, there was a red patch seeping through his jeans.

...What on earth happened.

The rain froze as Mark's mind was racing. He had no idea how he had gotten here or for how long. He worked his mind hard to try and remember; he knew that he'd been testing his power, but his last memory was opening a window. There was nothing else, and further effort proved fruitless. Wide and wild eyed, his gaze turned back to his knee. Gingerly, he rolled up the leg to try and inspect it. A sigh of relief came with the sight of a gash that wasn't particularly deep. He suspected that there was a bruise beneath though by the pain that it exuded upon putting weight onto it. He replaced the bloodied jean leg and now took a look at his surroundings. The tower right behind him, which caught his gaze as he briefly stressed about how he got here. Regardless, he knew where he was now. Limping off in the rain, he headed towards the hospital, only just realising the he was cold and soaked through.
