Oh. Man. That...is just unbelievable. Such a terrible loss. From now on, we're doing this RP, not just for a good time, but for him too. We're working in the world he helped to create, doing the creative stuff that he would have wanted us to do. Heroes of Beacon is hereby dedicated to the memory of Monty Oum.

He was the creator/animator/action director of RWBY, Haloid, Dead Fantasy, and Red vs. Blue Seasons 8-10. Edit: Just to name a few things.

Monty Oum was the creative director and created the initial trailer animations. He was more or less the guy who created RWBY. He did all the animations. He also voiced Lie Ren.

He was pretty much the everything for a lot of things. ;( Well, there's Woody Allen and it depends on the person's ethnicity on occasion concerning what they name their children. They all could also be shortened versions of a name. Wasn't Ozpin also modeled after him? If I remember correctly.

Plus you guys have to remember that this isn't just them losing a business partner - they lost a friend and it could be difficult picking up where he left off or they might just leave it out of respect for him. I don't know if Monty would want that though!

as far as i know miles and Kerry did most of the actual writing, so I don't think the series is likely to be cancelled, but i'd expect a hitch in the release date.
