I think i'll join this one. I meant to take a whack at the last one, but I was too busy.

Fair warning -- publishers don't like it when a certain amount of the material has been put online already (I think the magic number is 10%? It varies probably). It's probably fine if there's heavy editing in your future, but it's something to be aware of when you're putting up huge portions like @Keyguyperson does. Might wind up closing some doors if you're not careful.

That said..... I totally selfishly wanna read it! Do as you like. You're incapable of producing something bad.

If any of us do end up deciding that we want to take a whack at publishing whatever we produce for this contest, would it be kosher if we asked for it to taken down so that it doesn't get in the way of selling it?

yeah. We'll delete anything you tell us to delete, but you never know. I'm being dramatic though -- what the publishers are concerned about, we have nothing at all to do with, and it shouldn't be a problem. Just -- IN GENERAL -- you need to be protective of your intellectual property rights specifically when you're posting vast amounts of high-level writing.

I'm not going to stress about a deadline, so I'll see if I'll enter or not. If I'll manage to write something, I'll make sure to submit it ^_^

But the plot is, like, 99% a reference to the name of the constellation in which the story takes place.
