I like it so far but hasn’t explained our biggest worry yet. I am sure that more detail will be in the Bio section which you haven’t gotten to just yet so I am excited to see that piece.
The only other thing I am curious about is why they are immune to the Satasi. Is their a biological reason? Do they have a natural pheromones themselves that counter out the Satasi?
Straight jet black hair fell just below her shoulders, brushing up against the lightly tanned skin of her cheeks. Her delicate face framed by a pair of wire-rimmed glasses sitting at the bridge of her nose, that could not hide her almond-shaped chestnut colored eyes which seemed to give off a doe-like expression. A petite frame of 5’3 and a 120 pounds makes her appear fragile at first glance to most but if one wear to look closer they would see the lean muscle of her arms and toned legs.
She can mostly be found in sweaters or anything that is loose fitting that gives her a comfy feel. She does not mind showing a bit of skin but is usually reserved for tank tops and off the shoulder shirts. Jeans and leggings will always be her first choice but every now and then you could be blessed with seeing her in a dress though for her they are usually saved for special occasions.
Super Appearance:
Personality: Nilin is the kind of person that always seems to be there when you need someone to lend you an ear or a shoulder to cry on. She is very loyal and protective of her friends and those she views as her makeshift family. She is soft-spoken and caring to those around her which would make most think she is not cut out to be a fighter but that image of her will change rather quickly if you get on her bad side. She is known for having a sharp tongue and will cut you down to size flawlessly if you are deserving of it.
Nilin can seem shy or nervous with crowds sometimes but she has her reasons for this. If you knew her on a personal level then you would find that she is fearless and is willingly spontaneous on the fly. She is happy to give her input freely and always open to change, rolling with the punches of life. She is very aware that she could be hurt and is very weak compared to most but she will not deny what she is and wants to make a difference.
Skills: - Cooking/Baking - She grew up having to mostly care for herself and sometimes others which means cooking was a necessity to survive but she fell in love with the freedom. The creativity in trying something new even if the outcome came up in failure then maybe she could change something to make it better. It was like a stress relief that she could share with others to make them smile, have hope for a better day, or an easy way to say thank you. It still feels strange to have Gemina cook for the group and sometimes she still sneaks up out of bed early just to cook her own meals, not because she isn't grateful but the feeling of cooking and baking brings her joy. She can often be found in the kitchen while Gemina is cooking whether it is to help or give the woman some company. She wouldn't say she is anywhere close to a five-star chef of some fancy restaurant but she is still a wonderful cook if given the chance to try something she makes. She is not always confident in her skills.
- Painting - Painting is like a happy memory that she wishes to visit often. Each brush stroke reminder her of her mother's teachings and the fun times they shared together. She had shown her the passion for painting and a glimpse of the world through her eyes, that even if someone didn't understand a painting at first glance that the emotions you felt could still be conveyed. You could make the world a possibility for those that had never seen what you have or you could capture a thought of someone else by their face. You can be wild with just color and some random luck with say squirt guns filled with paint or a simple balloon. It is a spontaneous passion or it can let her place her emotions somewhere when she isn't sure where else to put them. It also is a way to keep her own memories alive when she thinks she might forget them.
- Singing - Her voice is mellifluous and smooth, drawing people in to want to hear more. She is not one to do so in front of others and can usually be found singing if she is in the shower or if something is stuck in her head while painting. Both are places she usually would think of as being alone or unheard. Humming is usually a different story as she can be found doing so during cooking or even cleaning which makes most beg to actually hear what her vocals could do.
- Sewing - Nilin has always been able to do small patch ups or hem an outfit in the past but in the last two years, she has dug into this skill to help it flourish as she had a new found inspiration. The first year in the group she worked hard to make her outfit piece by piece, trying to not only to improve her skills but to get it to match her vision. After everything was completed to perfection with her project, she started working on making outfits for Gemina so she could have something new and exciting without having to think about new fashion. She was happy to fix anything that she needed, taking great care with the clothing and even the clothing of the Knights with the permission of Viorel. She enjoys giving them the styles they prefer so they don't have to give up everything with the changing of time.
Hobbies: - Camping - Nilin has spent many a time in the outdoors and finds it completely peaceful. A lot of people complain about dirt and sleeping on the hard ground but that is all part of the charm for her. She loves sitting around a fire to warm up and chat about anything that comes to mind. To look up at the stars and see all of them glowing like you would never be able to in the city. It brings people closer and makes you have to find more interesting ways to be entertained instead of just looking at a screen from who knows what electronic. It makes you appreciate the beauty around you that you may not be able to find much of anymore.
- Reading - She has always been fond of fantasy, mysteries and romance books. She will always have a few practical books such as cooking, art, and other such items but most of her bookshelves are filled with her favorite genres. It is not often that you don't find her with at least one book in her bag or reading at a table with a nice cup of tea or coffee.
- Gardening - She is not very good at gardening yet and is trying to learn by growing some produce and herbs for the house. She has been reading up on how to take care of each plant and has been pretty successful so far. Her fingers are crossed that she continues to do well and that maybe some of the others might enjoy it as well or wish to help grow more. If they didn't have to go shopping as much and could save a bit then it would be helpful.
- Video Games - She has a passion for many games from old to the new ones of today. She isn't completely picky on what to play but she enjoys a good plot and seems to be particularly good as shooting type games. She also seems to enjoy games that have a puzzle to figure out and that proves a challenge. It is more fun for her to have others to play against or with depending on the game. Heck, she doesn't even mind switch off on one player games after each death so she can have someone else's company.
Weapons: - Metal Claws - While making her suit, she was semi-inspired by the Knights armor and made a metal shoulder armor to protect that side and use more for blocking if need be. It didn't seem complete with just the shoulder as a defense so she continued down the arm to make some nice moveable metal claws on one hand of her suit. This adds a little kick to her punches or she can use the claws which will give them a good scratch and do worse depending on where she can land a hit.
- Throwing Daggers - She can't do anything crazy like hitting a fly square on but she still has a pretty amazing aim. She could probably chuck a dagger at you and pin you to the wall without actually hitting you. It gets a little harder with a moving target so she is not 100% accurate and can, of course, miss what she is trying to hit. If the person is behind a box then there is nothing a dagger would do but out in the open, maybe she could hit their hand and make them drop a weapon or focus on the pain and attack.
- Nunchucks - In close quarter battles, she can be extremely lethal with this weapon. She knows where to hit that is painful, where to knock you out or worse. If you are not skilled in this weapon, you could easily hurt yourself instead of your opponent but this is not something she is worried about anymore. When training in karate, they were sure to teach you to be effective in this skill. She tucks this weapon in a special loop that is on the back of her belt.
- Fists - She thought she was a normal human most of her younger years which mean this was the style of weapon she was most use too. The daggers are her closest long range weapon and even that isn't too long of a distance. It might surprise most to how much defense and attack she can do with just her hands but sadly, she is more effective with normal humans unless someone is near her to lend some powers her way.
Equipment: Most equipment belts are the equivalent to a fanny pack and while she doesn’t care too much about image, she has limits. Usually, she uses throwing daggers which are easy to place in her suit in various locations and also her nunchucks are tucked in a single loop in the back of her belt.
Fighting Style: - Nunchaku - Combines offensive and defensive moves, so both locks and strikes. She usually wields it with one hand, but it can also be paired with other weapons if she chooses. Nilin whirls it around, using its hardened handles for blunt force, as well as wrapping its chain around an attacking weapon to immobilize or disarm an opponent. Nunchaku training has increased her hand speed, improve posture, self-restraint and conditioned her hands.
- Tai Chi Chuan While most think of this for medical benefits such as stress relief and doing something akin to yoga, it is also a slowed down graceful form of actual combat. Speed up the existing motions learned and they have a very real application for each move. Tai Chi Chuan's emphasis on the technique of yielding and attacking at the same time means there should be defensive and offensive intention in each movement so that the counterstrike will be quicker and will seize the opponent's weak area before they can recover. This combination involves every part of the body; thus she trained her whole body to be sensitive, nimble and flexible. This is different from most martial arts styles where offensive and defensive techniques occur separately.
- Gymnastics - Nilin uses this to flip away from enemies and to be able to jump over objects with more ease. It has helped train her upper body to be able to hold her body weight if she would need to be more stealthy. She can't know for sure but in her opinion, she has displayed more physical agility and coordination with the help of gymnastics.
Strength: She is of average human strength perhaps slightly more but not to a New Breed standard. The only reason she says a bit more is that she has trained her body and kept herself in good shape. She has learned to use other peoples strengths against them in battle because she is still weak.
Endurance: She is of average human endurance and knows the few tricks like many to keep running longer but eventually, she will tire out just like anyone else. It doesn't make her the best in a chase when she is on her own. It will be a matter of thinking ahead such as shortcuts.
Willpower: This is probably the only instance where she is far beyond human limits. She will suffer if need be so that she can help someone else. In the face of danger and in tough times, she will still press on and try her best even when the situation is dim and she is close to that of a normal human. She will try to figure out the best solution to make a situation better or find a time to escape if possible.
Speed: She is of normal speed in compared to humans. She isn't a slow runner by any means but she won't be in the Olympics or anything any time soon.
Reaction Speed: Due to her training, she has great reaction speed and can often be found easily catching something in mid-air that is falling or blocking a hand that is coming at her. The way her attacks and skills work she has to be quick or it could mean trouble for her.

Character Theme: It feels confusing to feel so ordinary when you are alone and then around others so extraordinary to suddenly feel completely different at the moment you are by their side. She could choose to walk away but then she would still know deep down that she was different with every brush of them walking by, feeling it grate against her senses and trying to ignore it or get away from the other person as soon as possible before she linked to them without control. Her brain waves syncing with their so that their powers would also become her own. It is so easy to block out what you are used to. It is like hearing a high pitched noise suddenly, at first, it is disorienting and you just want to cover your ears to make it stop but if you just wait long enough, you can adjust and maybe even tune out the sound completely with enough practice.
Ability Capabilities: Mimicry, by synchronizing her brain waves with those around her, she can mimic their abilities and her body adjusts to contain them.
Qualities of Ability: - Brain Wave Signature - Nilin can automatically sense a New Breed as her powers try to synchronize with the individual without her control. It is one of the reasons she does not like crowds and will try to avoid interviews as much as possible because she is not sure what the outcome will be should a New Breed be around. New powers are just that, completely new and uncontrollable to her. If she is around a certain signature long enough, she can learn to ignore the brainwave signatures around her but this takes at least a month or more to do. With focus and training, she will be able to control when she synchronizes or not. It does come in handy to know who is who without looking.
- Telepathic Mimicry - Nilin syncronizes her brain waves with that of another via a telepathic link and once they are connected, she mimics the powers they possess and they become her own. It isn't to say that she can perfectly control this power the first time as it is like having a new power spring up that you don't know the limits too. She could easy wear herself out or overdo it without realizing. If she trains and works at the powers, then she could be more fluent at it eventually.
- Physical Reconstruction - On a physical level, Nilin's body adjusts and changes so she can house the powers she receives. You can't spit acid without your body being ready for such an action after all. This is not really a pleasant experience but one she must endure if she wants to use someone else's powers. It would be like growing suddenly and causes aching if not worse depending on the changes that must be made.
Strengths of Ability: - Original Strength - When Nilin copies the powers of another, she gains all of the strengths they have when using their powers.
- Tier Boost - Her power level boosts to the same tier as the person she is copying and might be a little than the original if she is still trying to learn the power.
- Sensing - Due to her syncronizing with brain waves, she can sense who is near her if she remembers what the person's brain wave feels like or looks like. It helps her see in a crowd and be able to tell you who is a New Breed.
Weaknesses of Ability: - Original Weakness - While she gains all the strengths of the power she is using, she also takes all the weaknesses of that power as well. There is no picking or choosing what to copy as it is an all package deal.
- Mental Blocks - Her powers will not work on someone who can shield their minds or block her from their thoughts. If she can't synchronize then she cannot mimic their powers. This makes her weak against people with mental capabilities.
- Reconstruction - Physical Reconstruction can be extremely painful in some cases and she has to work through the pain. It is complete willpower that helps her through this. It helps having the powers linked before going into battle but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. It can make her a little weaker though if the pain is too much and less able to do certain moves.
- Alone - If Nilin does not have another New Breed around her then she is by all definition, completely human. Yes, she is trained but even that will only get her so far. She has to tag team with someone else which means she is very vulnerable without them. If she slips up and gets too far away then this could be a dangerous outcome for her.
Limitations of Ability: - Range - Nilin has to stay within a certain range of the person she is linked to or she will lose all the powers that she is copying. This range can get a little broader with trying but there will always be a limit she cannot pass.
- Multiple Mimicry - She cannot copy the powers of more than one person at once. If she needed another power, she would have to desynchronize with the person she was linked to so she could synchronize with another. This all takes a good amount of time to do.
- Powered Items - She cannot copy the powers of someone that has gained their powers from an item. If they do not have natural powers or powers that were permanatly granted then she cannot copy them. She needs a mental connection and an item does not make that possible.
- Control - She does not have perfect control of powers gained. She actually has to work hard and train to get better at the powers so that she can understand how they work and what to avoid doing. She actually has to lean on the other person to advise her.
Biograph:
Firefighters were called to Maple Park Primary School earlier today just shortly before 11:00 AM as fire broke out in the main building, some students on the second trapped as the flames engulfed the hallway.
The blaze was contained in the main hall of the academy and thankfully, with no harm to the students or facilty. They suspect arson might play a key role this tragic event as the main damage was found in one of the girl’s bathroom not far from where the fire was halted is what the Fire and Rescue service said upon questionings from our local reporters.
The school, which teaches about 200 pupils aged between three and eleven, will be closed on Monday and pending possibly longer depending on the investigation.
Parents have been told of the closure and the council is assessing the damage, it added.
Investigators are at the scene now to determine the cause of the blaze while crews continue to dampen down the remaining pockets of fire. It has been suggested by some of the eye witnesses that this might have been a New Breed attack or out burst of some kind instead of arsoney. A student quoting, “The girl was on fire. She looked scary and made us not able to leave.”
The school is taking this very seriously and will be looking into the matter of this so called girl on fire along with the authorities to sort out the issue.

Static, endless white noise over a jittering screen is all you are viewing. You wonder for a moment why anyone would put a video like this up. Was there a jumpscare just waiting for you? Was this some kind of joke? Everyone keeps telling you that it is worth watching, but why? Suddenly, the static is gone and the picture is of a pair of bare feet just standing in the sand. It is like the camera’s operator doesn’t even know that the video is running. The sound of waves crashing, howling wind and a single cry of a seagull in the background were all that could be heard. The camera jerked violently, the world spinning for a moment before it stills on a vast expanse of ocean that was glittering in the evening sun. The sky had yet to light up with color but it was still a sight to behold, the calm water looking so serene.
“Isn’t it amazing?” a gentle voice ranging out, asking the very question you were thinking to yourself.
“The world can be so beautiful and in barely no time it can change into something even more than it was before. I have more recently found that everything can also change by the choices we make and how we treat each other. I don’t know how to explain to those I care about, what I am feeling because I don’t want them to worry. This is the place I usually find myself when I want to think and find peace but it hasn’t been helping.” She continued, the picture moving to show the coast line and bouncing with each step of her feet in the sand.
“Recently, I was given the amazing opportunity to do an interview to which I politely refused to be a part of. I was afraid the interview would be a chance to have a joke at my expense and possibly even those I care for or that an accidental incident might occur as I tend to not do well in crowds and I did not want that to happen. Mellissa Ramirez is a smooth talker, I’ll give her that. She came to me personally and assured me that she only wanted to inspire other to see things from a different point of view and wanted to know more about my personal life. She wanted to hear my opinion on serious matters that have been happening and so much more. She walked me through how the interview would go and showed a fake concern that I thought was completely genuine at the time and promised that my concerns would be only that.” She paused, the sound of waves and the crunching sand under her toes being the only comfort to break the empty silence. You could only guess if she was trying to say her next words carefully or if she was trying to prepare herself next part of her story.
“If I knew then, what I know now then I would never showed up to my first interview if one could even call it that. Instead, it was a vicious attack of questions that would only pause just enough for me to start answering before the next question would cut me off to make it seem as though I didn’t know how to answer. I had no chance. It made me look stupid and the questions asked made my companions seem despicable and suspicious. I probably should not have sassed her and walked out of the interview but what was I supposed to do? Just smile and pretend like we weren’t being insulted? All it ended up doing was making people think that I thought I was thinking I was better then Mellissa Ramirez or how could I be so rude to such a wonderful woman. Wonderful woman, indeed....laughable.” Her voice was cracking now, the sadness and pain leaking into her voice. You could tell she was either fighting back tears or already crying.
“I wanted to show that I am an artist. I never use my name but some of my work hang in different galleries throughout the city. Everyone at home have so many talents and some work at normal jobs like any other. I wanted to show people that new breed humans are just the same has everyone else. It isn’t the outside or what talents we have that make humans what humans are. It is the inside that matters. We are all humans and nothing changes that. I don’t understand why it has to be a separation. We get up in the morning same as you. We get sick. If we get hurt then we bleed. No one is immortal and we all can die. We all have things we are better at then others so why are powers any different? Alone, walking on this beach, I am completely like everyone that doesn’t have powers. I still want to do my best at all I fix that is what we all want. I know some people understand this but I see now that some are still out there to bring others down or pull out hateful feelings in others.”
The world tilted, limbs coming into view of the camera as the woman controlling the picture sat down and took a deep breath.
“Are you ready?” She asked softly though no one was there to answer her question. Suddenly, the camera was looking out to the water once more. The sky blended in various colors that splayed across the clouds causing more depth in the pinks, purples, yellows and oranges that the sinking sun was creating and the water reflecting all above down below. It looks unreal, like something out of a painting.
“I love sunsets. They always remind me of hope and possibilities for a better tomorrow. I don’t care what others think of me but I do care about the suggestions thrown at my makeshift family.” She stated, confident and bold now.
Static, endless white noise blaring at the screen once more. It was so different from the waves and the lull of her voice. Was this it? Was that the end? It couldn’t be over, could it?
That was when the picture flickered back to life, showing a couple that were sitting by the fire while sipping on tea. They seemed so content in each other’s presence but then the long haired woman leaned closer to the serious man sitting across from her, placing her hand on his own and you could feel the love they share if not more.
The image changed again, this time a brunette holding back a luscious and curvaceous red headed woman that seemed to be having a passionate discussion with some other unknown faces in the room which ended up in the woman turning on the brunette and give her a kiss that would probably give anyone stars in their eyes.
It swapped again, the time a muscular man with an attractive face. He was lifting weights and completely unknowing of the woman that was now spying on his simple or not so simple work out. Was it normal for someone to lift that much with no spotter? It was certainly impressive.
This seemed to be the theme of the videos ending as the camera came to a new face. The young Sandy brown haired man was set to work, cleaning the kitchen after what looked like a big meal. Usually, one would think the poor sucker cleaning would not be happy in this situation but he seemed to be enjoying himself. A few people that had yet to be introduced joined him, chatting as he calmly replied to whatever conversation the other had started.
It suddenly showed an adorable blonde who was dramatically giving a performance of some kind. They made the others laugh and smile with the flair of their words before bursting out into full on singing which didn’t seem to fit the scene but the others clapped in encouragement. The place seemed so festive with him around. This was a him, right? They seemed to cute to be a boy.
Suddenly it showed the sandy blonde from earlier playing a card game with someone they had yet to really see. He didn’t seem at all worries that he might lose. The jokes were not stopping and both were laughing, having a nice time. The battle going back an forth as they tried claim the winners spot. The guys suddenly looked to the camera, making the woman behind it flew before the image changes once more.
This one, sadly, did not last long at all as the camera’s owner instantly got a clawed hand to the camera and a sassy attitude to get it out of her face from an amazing dragon lady. It made you really want to know more about her if she would let them.
A man with spiked red hair was the next to grace them with their presents, one eye milky but this one had almost a dazzling golden eye. He was currently playing the electric guitar with complete skill though it was hard to actually view as it seemed this one was filmed through a crack in the door. He seemed to be using his gifts to entertain a woman, the look of her possibly being the famous model, Veronica. It seemed that it was working as the blonde woman with legs that went on forever, gave him her full attention.
The next image looked like it was the same man but his hair was combed and this time there was no golden eye. The one side was milky but this time a bright blue was there instead. He looked so serene, hands gloved and carefully tending to a garden. The sun shone to make his hair even more vibrant and calm. You could feel that he was just a compassionate person. He seemed startled, looking up into the camera and smiling softly.
The moves into a different scene, showing a famous face in the internet community and not one too unfamiliar with cameras. Myles was excitedly chatting to his phone, possibly making his next video without realizing another video was being made. He seemed so honest in front of the phone and telling others about different things in his life and more.
The last was not what one would call a person as they questioned the camera on its evils. The goblin would not let the subject go until the promise of a whole batch of cookies just for them was given. You would think the the owner of the camera had promised the goblin the world on a silver platter with that amazed look it had even before rushing off.
The picture changes once more but this time there was no face to greet them. Instead, it was a painting of them all. It was skillfully done and brought out the personality of each subject. There were a few other things in the background like knights and dragons that didn’t make much sense but it was so completely epic that who would complain. The camera turned and for the first time they met the owner of the comforting voice that had spoken of their experience. Lips curved into a smile and chestnut eyes shined with pride and love as she looked to the camera. A small wave was directed at them and the black haired woman spoke for a final time. “Till we see each other again.”

Half think that she is too fragile and sweet to be hanging around such dangerous situations. That with her only copying powers that she is more like a mascot or that they should let other more normal people in the group because why not? Is she mostly human and barely different, right?
While the other half are excited to see someone who has the same powers as the others. It is like taking your favorite New Breed hero or idol and timing them by two. It is interesting to see what someone else would do with the powers of someone else.
Am I correct you are confused as to why they are a criminal or on the ship because I just noticed they did not state the reason as to how they got sentenced into the ship?

Bio: As a Manufactured being Max’s Childhood happened in a growth tank hooked up to induction programing modules till he reached physical maturity at the Bradass IV System’s manufactured being facility and was decanted and sent into the war. Designed for war Max’s life has been painted in the blood and fluids of living beings whom he terminated as the lead gunner of one of the old Harth Class Destroyers (Decommissioned) then they no longer had need of his kind.
Augments always having made the Natural human uneasy because of their physical perfection and how slowly they aged (Augs can live 175 years theoretically but have average lifespans of only 26) were discontinued and the program declared illegal for production. Once standing 65,000 their number is now estimated as low as 1,498 active were Max is considered an Elder of their class as one of only 5 Augs over the age of 35 and as such holding a permanent rank above the others younger than he.
Offered to the Marauders as a Gunnery unit Max was given no choice but to join them because as a manufactured being he has no more rights than the knives in the Cook’s Galley.
Personality: Faithful to a fault or so it seems ( less a gift to the ship and more faulty system) Max has been active far longer than his designer’s intended. This level of Life Experience has made Max less mechanical than younger Augments even imparting to him an odd sense of humor from years of associating with natural soldiers who he had to adapt to like any other potential obstacle.
As an Augment his responses to many things can be predicted. Scream at him for something which he is not at fault for and he will write a report supported by evidence and file it in Operator’s Efficiency Profile rather than get angry.
Also Max is made like all Augments to serve naturals in any manner they wish which will not endanger their existence which includes the position of companion. Here it is noted in his record he has begun to perform that service less by 28% using Weapon’s Balancing and Fine Tuning as vital duty; suspect his personality has become Aberrant.

Other: Max is an Aug. This means he is faster and stronger than a human male by at least 10% and usually by 35% on average.
Equipped with an integral Telepresence system and bio/aug TAC (A Biological CPU that wraps around the bottom of the spine) which he uses to help with the multi-tasking of large weapons systems.
Max is safe guarded by a medical monitoring section of the TAC which can report his condition directly into the ship's computer and if a toxin or illness threatens his existence can place him under hibernation using the drug known as Slow a commonly used field rescue by medics.
