Just a little update. We are setting up to get the new player on board and lose some of the people that are no longer with us. We are also setting up a mini adventure and some future ones. We are deciding which ones to do first which is taking some time. We thank you for your patience.
September 1st, 20XX | Streets of New York/Reyna’s Apartment | N/A
Everything burned, her eyes watering as she leaned over and harshly puked out the contents of her stomach. She continued to hack and cough violently, her body desperately trying to relieve the irritation that filled her mouth and throat. It felt like her neck glands were swollen and ached as if she had been sick for days. Her head was pounding and her vision felt blurry at best as she glanced around, trying to figure out what had just happened. Everyone around her was screaming, trying to get away in a blind panic or in just as bad shape as she was and a red mist hung in the air around them. Reyna had simply been on her way to work, eating breakfast on the go and tempting her co-worker to cover for her with the promise of a treat in return since she was sure that she wasn’t going to make it in time. It was when she opened her mouth to take a bite of her pastry that her senses were assaulted as if she had gotten pepper spray directly to the face which lead to where she was now.
She wanted to claw at her skin and rinse her mouth out repeatedly which meant work suddenly was a hell no. She found herself turning around, stumbling weakly in the opposite direction of where she had been headed. All she wanted to do was go back home, to rest and not feel any of this anymore. Reyna’s eyes wanted to close, her limbs screamed at her to stop and rest but she pushed on. The darkness at the edge of her vision was getting worse with each step and she felt chills running down her spine as if a fever was setting in. It was a miracle she made it to the door of her little studio apartment, her mind on autopilot as she moved through the streets. She made her way inside, not even bothering to lock the door as she went straight to the bathroom. She wanted out of these clothes and to get rid of that horrible burning so the shower was her first thought. Sadly, it hadn’t helped a damn bit and the warm water had felt like a bucket of ice on top of the fact that the irritation to her skin had stayed. She pulled on a pair of sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt, hopping under the covers to take a nap.
Reyna awake to a little paw tapping on her face, Jiji meowing at her. She groaned, her throat feeling like it was on fire and just wanting more rest. She sat up slowly, shakily moving out of bed to fill the cat feeders as Jiji rubbed happily against her feet. It only took her leaning over to pet him to cause instant regret as she rushed to get to the bathroom, only to trip and puke all over her hand as well as the floor. Her nose scrunched, not really happy with the thought of having to clean that up when her eyes caught red. Chestnut eyes widened in horror, blood covering her hand and the wooden surface of the floor. She shook in fear as raw panic gripped her, the vague memory of her mom and the times she had seen her cough up blood. It made her gut twist, the thought that she might be just as sick without realizing it. It wasn’t like she went to the doctor often. There was no way she could afford it but she wasn’t dumb to ignore a sign like this. Reyna dragged her way over to the dresser, grabbing her cell and calling a number she never knew she would need or would want to call for.
”9-1-1, what is your emergency?
”Help....coughing blood....”, she rasped out as her eyes lids started to droop down once more. She vaguely thought she heard a reply but she was already long gone and into the land of dreams. She didn’t hear when the paramedics had arrived, didn’t feel when they had strapped her onto the gurney, or even flinch when they started hooking her up with IVs and checking her over.
New York City
September 5th, 20XX | Greenwich Hospital | N/A
She slowly opened her eyes even though they felt heavy and her vision equally unfocused. The blankets around her felt like sandpaper, too rough against her skin and everything around her was far too loud. The world around her felt sterile and far too clean to her senses. She wanted to speak but she felt like her mouth was full. Reyna blinked a few times, her hand reaching up to her face and going into full blown panic as she tried to yank at the tube on her mouth. Alarms started going off, nurse rushing in to stop her and keep her calm but it was having the opposite effect. Reyna tried to remember how she got there but instead was hyperventilating at the tubes sticking out of her body and the face that she was in a hospital. Hospitals meant death. They meant something was wrong. She shook in fear, letting the nurses do what they needed to as she stayed in shock. Once some of the tubes and equipment had been removed, the doctor started in on some test while happily chatting how wonderful it was that she had woken up. He explained how lucky she was to be alive, apparently that weird gas had effected a large amount of people which had caused a good amount of deaths. It appeared that the ones alive were on lock down in various hospitals for their own safety and the safety of others though it wasn’t outright stated.
Reyna only resisted a bit, getting annoyed and scared over being picked or prodded at but ultimately let them continue. She was relieved when they left her alone once more, her gaze instantly looking toward the window so she wasn’t looking at the sterile prison she had found herself in. She just wanted to be home. She wanted to cuddle Jiji and be out of this hell. It was just looping pain and a crawling feeling in her veins, not that she would tell them that. She sighed, turning her attention over the items that had been returned to her and pulled out her cell, not even holding her breath that there would be anyone caring about her sudden disappearance. It wasn’t like she had anyone waiting on her. She noticed a few calls from her work and listened in on the voicemails, a twisted smile on her features before she laughed pitifully and tried holding back tears. Reyna found herself tossing the phone on the bed, eyes back on the view from her windows as she held back tears. ”Of course on top of all this bull that I would lose my job. It’s like the nightmare that won’t end....”, she whispered to herself, turning on her side and curling into a tight ball, trying to block everything out.
That is sad to hear but I understand. Let me know if you ever change your mind or if you need help GMing if you want to try this again. We could work on ideas and see how we can move the story to last longer or more villains if the first mystery was completed.

Abilities, Skills and Resources ___________________________________
//Abilities & Skills: ✧ Lycanthrope Boost | As more of the werewolf kind, she has supernatural strength, stamina, agility, and rapid healing to the point of regenerating lost limbs. When highly emotional or, put simply, completely pissed off, she is able to ignore pain up to but not including fatal wounds from their main weaknesses ✧ Magic Resistant | Slightly resistant to magic. It still effects her but just not to it’s full potential ✧ Bite | Her teeth are extremely sharp and a bite would cause hallucinations for the victim ✧ Neural Connectivity | If she spends enough years around other werewolves a sort of neural connectivity forms that allows her to speak with them up to several miles. ✧ Tai Chi Chuan | While most think of this for medical benefits such as stress relief and doing something akin to yoga, it is also a slowed down graceful form of actual combat. Speed up the existing motions learned and they have a very real application for each move. Tai Chi Chuan's emphasis on the technique of yielding and attacking at the same time means there should be defensive and offensive intention in each movement so that the counterstrike will be quicker and will seize the opponent's weak area before they can recover. This combination involves every part of the body; thus she trained her whole body to be sensitive, nimble and flexible. This is different from most martial arts styles where offensive and defensive techniques occur separately. ✧ Gymnastics | Juniper uses this to flip away from enemies and to be able to jump over objects with more ease. It has helped train her upper body to be able to hold her body weight if she would need to be more stealthy. She can't know for sure but in her opinion, she has displayed more physical agility and coordination with the help of gymnastics. ✧ Dagger Throwing | She can't do anything crazy like hitting a fly square on but she still has a pretty amazing aim. She could probably chuck a dagger at you and pin you to the wall without actually hitting you. It gets a little harder with a moving target so she is not 100% accurate and can, of course, miss what she is trying to hit. If the person is hidden behind an object then there is nothing a dagger would do but out in the open, maybe she could hit their hand and make them drop a weapon or focus on the pain and attack.
//Limitations: ✧ Mortality | Unlike vampires, werewolves are not immortal. Yes, they have rapid healing and are not as vulnerable humans but they will still die eventually. They only gain extra years of life. ✧ Enhanced Senses | While this can be an huge positive, it is also an extreme negative. She is vulnerable to sharp reflections, highly sharp noises, and overwhelming smells can cause problems or throw her off. ✧ Full Moon | On every full moon, every werewolf is forcibly transformed. There is no exception to this rule. It is a painful process. The process makes them feral, rampaging beasts that have an inclination towards tearing apart whatever life they come across. It is only if she is wearing the special necklaces granted to them by witches upon the full moon that allows them to mostly control themselves at a slight cost of their boosts that makes them stronger than normal. ✧ Transformation | A cramped feeling happens if not transformed before at least a week. This means that time has to be made for transformations and planning out where to go, how long to stay transformed and setting up on how to get dressed again without explaining why you are outside naked. ✧ Silver/Wolfs-bane | Can be killed by silver (must be a solid mass embedded in skin, though ingesting it in powdery form can severely damage their insides), ingestion of wolfs-bane, and decapitation. Other injuries may weaken them, but cannot kill them.
//Habits & Quirks: ✧ When nervous or in deep thought she tends to bite her bottom lip or play with the tips of her hair ✧ She hums and sings when she is in a particularly good mood though the singing part is more if she is not in public ✧ Tends to take morning runs, sometimes she will stop at a bakery or coffee shop if she doesn’t feel like cooking ✧ If the day has been rough or stressful then the bar becomes her next best friend ✧ Doodles on napkins, she likes sketching and for some reason the white of a napkin is just too tempting not to doodle on ✧ She picks up on the hints and subtle clues about strangers she sees and makes up stories about how their lives are or who they might be. ✧ Runs her fingers through her hair when frustrated and if the habit is noticed then her hair gets tied up ✧ Carries around at least one coin at all times to make some decisions
//Hobbies: ✧ Painting/ Drawing, if she hadn’t become a detective then she probably would have been an artist. She loves the creativity and freedom of expression when working on a piece. Art has a way of showing ones true self or expressing emotion that can’t be conveyed through speech. It is also fun to get a little messy and have a good time doing it. ✧ Cooking/Baking, there is something soothing about the simple task and who doesn’t love food? It has a way of bringing people together and to bring back fond memories. It is also a chance to experiment when you feel like it or impress if the occasion calls for it, plus when you live alone it kind of becomes necessary so why not enjoy it. ✧ Camping, she has spent many a time in the outdoors and finds it completely peaceful. A lot of people complain about dirt and sleeping on the hard ground but that is all part of the charm for her. She loves sitting around a fire to warm up and chatting about anything that comes to mind. To look up at the stars and see all of them glowing which would never be a possibility in a city. It makes you have to find more interesting ways to be entertained instead of just looking at a screen from who knows what electronic. ✧ Reading, she has always been fond of fantasy, mystery and romance books. She will always have a few practical books such as cooking, art, and other such items but most of her bookshelves are filled with her favorite genres. It is not often that she won’t be found with at least one book in her bag or reading at a table with a nice cup of coffee. ✧ Video Games/Games, she is fond of most types of games from chess all the way to video games as long as it proves to be a challenge. Puzzles and strategy games are what she is most fond of but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be found playing shooting or fighting games. It is just a nice way to unwind or pass the time for her.
//Fears: ✧ Necklace Failure | The necklace provided by the witches failing her on a full moon night ✧ Hunted | Being hunted without rhyme or reason ✧ Spiders | Convinced they are pure evil ✧ Heal/Regen Failure | Rapid healing or regeneration failing her ✧ Needles | Is terrified of shots and IVs but things like sewing needles and such do not bother her. ✧ Death | Death of those she cares for and loves
Appearance Details ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
Juniper has an hourglass figure and stands at five foot eleven, her height coming mostly from her naturally long lean-muscled legs. Tendrils of chocolate hair spill down to her chest in cascading waves to frame her sun kissed face. Sure, she knows how to style it but she usually only does so for special occasions or if she is frustrated since she doesn’t need to keep racking her fingers through it. The most striking of her features is the heterochromia eyes, one a whiskey brown and the other an ice blue. She often keeps this strange anomaly hidden in her human form by putting in a brown contact in, unless in privacy or in the company of those she trusts since she doesn’t want to attract attention to herself. She has no tattoos since she can never seem to decide on one but she does re-pierce her own ears in different places often, rapid healing is a real downfall sometimes which is also the reason she doesn’t have scars. Juniper's daily wear is usually is whatever is the most comfortable in her opinion or what she wouldn’t care to be ruined if she has to transform in a hurry. It is mostly faded jeans, sweaters, and T-shirts but she knows how to dress up and dazzle when the situation calls for such.
In a striking contrast to her human form, Juniper actually does not have brown or dark colored fur when she is transformed. Instead, she becomes an over sized wolf with pure ivory fur and those same heterochromia eyes which is another reason for the contact cover up in human form. She is fairly slender in the form which is a bonus for agility and dodging but not so much if she is trying to make an impact attack unless she adds teeth into the mix.
Character Synopsis ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
Unlike with most tales, this one starts before the beginning of her life as the actions of others set everything else in motion. Her father lead over an extremely small pack that had been fighting to keep their territory for many years against another pack within the area. The bloodshed was great and the damage to both sides getting worse by the day. The other pack was blessed with more members for sure but lacked the strategic prowess that Kaleb possessed which was the cause for the standstill instead of a hostile takeover. It was only when a new leader was appointed did peace seem possible as the first action of the other packs leader was to set a meeting, come up with a solution for peace. Unfortunately, the only offer to be presented was the hopes of the two alphas becoming a pair and try to merge the two packs which expand both of their territories as well as not to have to fear disbanding or finding a new home for the losing side and while the solution was indeed a smart one, Kaleb had already chosen a mate and rejected the offer. This made the other leader sour, the tensions running high as she snapped at Kaleb and demanded to know why she wasn’t good enough. She figured he was with no female to call his own. No one stood by his side on the battle field or even now at this meeting. Kaleb explained that he had someone, a human woman by the name of Emily who was already heavy with child. The only reason for her not being by his side now or on the battle field. This had been the last straw, an all out bloodshed broke out all around them and causing each side to tear each other apart.
Emily, waited and waited but after awhile....it was clear that something had gone horribly wrong. It was just her now and the last light that Kaleb had left of himself. She was terrified of what to do. The pack had only tolerated her presences because of Kaleb, the fault her own as her past actions against them as a hunter but now that meant if their child was to be a werewolf, they might not have a pack and would have to try to be taught with only outside knowledge, not being shown the way. It always came to mind that Emily herself might not make it through child birth which before had been fine since her baby would have Kaleb but the thought of the baby having no parents was hard to bare. Her heart felt broken and she wanted to give into grief but she sucked it up, pushed her emotions to focus on what was next. There was no point in worrying over what could not be changed and they both knew the risks that came with being a leaders and even parents.
The month of October was coming to an end and their child was ready to grace the world. What was supposed to be a happy day turned into one of sadness though as Emily lost her life shortly after childbirth, only having enough time to hold her little girl and give her the name Juniper before passing on. No family to claim her, she ended up in the system and was adopted by Richard and Sarah Rosen. It was never known to her that she had ever had another set of parents that were now long gone and lead an ordinary life. A simple and happy girl, taking up hobbies like gymnastics, fighting, and learn to play an instrument, well, many since she couldn’t decide which one she liked more. She worked hard in school to make her parents proud and tried her best to fit in though most made fun of her for looking slightly different in her childhood years. Juniper always felt an emptiness though that she couldn’t explain but had always shrugged it off, thinking that it was nothing to worry over and she should be happy for what she had.
It wasn’t until her teen years that things started to get a little strange. Sure, teens grow like weeds but she experienced several growth spurts that seemed extremely painful. The doctors said it was normal to feel a little achy but they weren’t listening that it was actually painful to her. She wanted to protest but with her parents so relieved to know it was nothing serious, what was she supposed to do? She didn’t want them to worry and maybe it really just was nothing as the doctor stated. It seemed that was only the beginning though as soon after, being indoors felt trapping and Juniper couldn’t stop feeling awkward in her own skin. She wanted to scratch at it or runs around the block repeatedly. It was as if she were going to go crazy and then the full moon hit. The pain had startled her awake, screams echoing through the house as she felt her bones shifting, and her mind felt like it was being pushed away. It was like being underwater at night. A peaceful blackness that was only interrupted for short blips of horrifying images.
When she resurfaced from what she thought was a world of dreams, Juniper found herself stark naked in the middle of a park, covered in caked on blood as the sun started to rise. She was terrified, confused, and worse of all.....uninjured. Where had all this blood come from? How did she get here? Why was she naked? It was all too much at once to take in any singular emotion. She focused in on one thought, to get home. Juniper wasn’t even sure if she had been spotted walking as her feet kept moving on their own as if they knew their destination by heart. Everything around her was overwhelming. The sound of her feet moving, the animals skittering around, the smells around her causing her to feel nauseous, and the morning sunlight burning her eyes which in turn made them water though tears had already been spilling from them.
It felt like as though she had been wandering forever but here she was, standing outside her own home and staring at the cracked and broken front door. She carefully pushed it open, sneaking inside to see if anything else was amiss and worried that some sort of attacker was still there but all she got to see was trails of blood. Different items spewed all over the place and things ripped apart. Juniper shouted for her parents, bolting upstairs only to step in puddles of blood and screaming as she witness the ripped up and mauled mess that could barely be recognized as her parents but she knew it was. She didn’t know how but she knew this was them but she was positive and she felt sick. Tears spilled down her cheeks, confusion eating away at her on how this had happened.
The cops found her still in the stairwell, naked and covered in blood as well as unresponsive. They questioned her but with no response and were certain that she had murdered her family like some psychopath when the coroner stated they had found evidence that an animal had done such devastation that had occurred. It was from that moment on that they realized Juniper must have witnessed the horrific scene and maybe someone had brought the violent animal with them or even threatened her, if not more since they found her naked. She was placed into counseling and awaiting to receive a foster family till a better solution could be found. Juniper didn’t wait that long. She took what she could and got on a bus, not looking back. She didn’t know where she would go or do so she just ended up visiting different places with interesting history or attractions.
It didn’t take long to find out that the strange occurrence from that night kept happening to her. It was sometimes with no problem other then being randomly naked somewhere, while other times death followed. She started locking herself away at nights, not knowing what else to do and terrified of what she was possibly capable of. She always felt claustrophobic now, like a never ending cycle and only feeling normal after the strange missing time of her memory. Eventually, her path lead her to Salem because of its past history and that’s when she finally found some semblance of peace. It was just a random bumping into someone on the streets but in that moment, she finally didn’t feel that emptiness that was always there and she felt like this random stranger would understand her. Juniper ended up following like a lost puppy, well that was until she was snapped at for being a stalker. She had instantly fallen apart, the woman before her stood awkwardly watching the young werewolf and realizing something was very wrong. Natalie lead her away, taking her to the current pack leader and seeing if there was something they could do to help.
Juniper’s reaction to questions made them realize that this teen had no idea what she truly was and that they would not be dragging the past from her. She refused to give them almost any knowledge other than she was alone. Natalie took her in, helped her learn herself, gave her the tools she needed and cared for her until she was of age to start a true life of her own. The past haunts her still but she has tried to move forward and helping people where she can. Keeping out of trouble if possible though that is difficult sometimes in a place like Salem.
✧ That she murdered her family. It may have been when she was not of sound mind but she still feels like it was all her fault. ✧ That she has different colored eyes
Personality ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
♦ Protective ♦ Indecisive ♦ Caring ♦ Fiery ♦
She is compassionate and cares about others very deeply, always wanting to help or support them in some fashion. She is extremely loyal and protective of those she trusts and has respect for, willing to go above and beyond if it means they will not have to suffer. She is the kind of person that would give you the shirt off her back if it would make them more comfortable or if it was needed but that isn't to say she is a push over. She will sharply snap at any who tries to betray her or those she cares for and will clearly speak up to those she views as in the wrong against others. It is very hard to get her to the point of being in actual rage but it is ugly when she has to get to that point since she is a bit fiery even stubborn on a normal day. If you want a fight then this is one woman that will surely give it if threatened.
What people find the most frustrating about her is that she has trouble making choices or decisions. It is because there are too many good options that she wants to do it all, not have to narrow down to a single option unless she knows it is the best one. She explores avenues and doesn’t like to jump into the unknown. If an option has to be made, it is sad to say she will probably flip a coin....seriously, this is not a joke. The other thing that most others might not enjoy is while she is helpful and caring, her protective nature can be a bit too much at times. She doesn’t mean to be overbearing but she is a worrier since she has no more family of her own. Her friends and those around her are her family in her eyes. She has a hard time letting people close so when they are, she doesn’t want to let them go or she just wants them safe.
Miscellaneous ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
✧ She can play the piano, violin and cello ✧ She has no animosity towards any other supernaturals or even hunters. Juniper believes you should be judged by your own individual actions and not by race. ✧ She was around 13 when she ran away and ended up in Salem around 16. She worked hard and did extra class to catch back up, focus on the career she wanted. ✧ While Natalie took her in, kind of making her part of the pack. She still is more of a lone wolf, having problems with being told what to do or not do. Still she has been around them long enough to have a mental connection. ✧ Link to Font: fontmeme.com/fonts/decadentia-font ✧ I have read the rules
I am not a thief by any means in real life but I could see Reyna calling in some help, kind of a win win for everyone. She was the one with the skills in my opinion where her dad was probably the tech piece in their operation.
Anyway, yeah we can talk more in PM. You want to make it or me?
