Fallout Tactics has death claws that can talk, scary killer robots, and the ability to have a tank. It just doesn't... Sit well with the rest of lore.

Ariin was still up to no good, or was it good? It was a grey area mostly, he was in his room working on the cake having managed to scavenge everything he needed he set to work cooking. As he worked his mind wandered, he thought of all the pilots that were in the program now. How they would all have to work together, this did also beg the question if they could. He remembered in his combat training that he had lead three other Frame's in combat, granted they were simulated so were the Cruxi he faced.

He also wondered if Lorenzo ran the entire program for Framewerk pilots why was he taught by Colonel Andres and overseen by him rather than Lorenzo. It could have just been Lorenzo was more focused on other projects, after all this was a large program. No doubt he wanted to observe Sigma and the project she was involved in, however Ariin then asked himself another question, was he a project? Here he was, a refugee and former citizen of Mar's now a member of the military. He was criminal, no way around that one, an easily charged murderer and thief. Yet Andres had pushed him in to the program in exchange for no charges and keeping Ariin's family safe.

He wondered if he was some kind of project by the good colonel, perhaps one in reforming and pushing criminals up to die rather than soldiers. That hurt to think of, Andres was a cranky old man but he had always been honest with Ariin and Ariin had always been hones with him. It hurt to think of the father figure as having lied to make him into an expendable toy for Lorenzo. The young soldier sighed, returning his thoughts to the task at hand he soon realized something, he'd made far to much cake batter.

He chuckled at his own screw up, he used up everything except two boxes of the strawberries which he would use to decorate the cake along with the icing. He shrugged and decided he'd just bake all four cakes, enough to share with everyone in the squad then, he hoped. As he slipped back into the kitchen and put the cakes into the oven then waited, having hidden back in the kitchen. Being short, thin, and very limber Ariin had hidden himself quite easily in one of the cupboards. Going back to his thoughts he thought of training, trying to recall if he had ever seen or met Lorenzo before, he had to know if he was just another guinea pig to this guy.

He remember the physical training, having marines, special forces, and other beat on him. Arrin didn't have to beat them, no he had to block and counter them. He was given a stun gun with one shot, it was training on how to handle the Paladin when the enemy closed in. The railgun could only get one shot, Ariin lost for weeks and weeks in row. Until he finally he learned to stop trying to dodge or try to stop the attack. He deflected it, took the hit somewhere less critical then fired point blank into his opponent. Lorenzo could have been there, the observation room was blacked out though Ariin never saw enter it.

He remember squad training, where in his first few weeks he often flew into his own team mates or forgot to call out when firing. He failed those for months until finally he got it down, he won the first time with two of his squad wounded. He only improved from there on, eventually he became pretty good at leading a small AI team of artillery based Frames. Yet he didn't remember seeing Lorenzo when he was pulled from the simulations or terminated during one of his failed runs. They could have been sending him data and replays however, there was no way so one with an ego like Lorenzo didn't pick them all or have a hand in how they were brought here.

The timer dinged, carefully Ariin made his way out and retrieved the cakes, setting to work he decorated them with Vanilla and Chocolate icing carefully doing flowers along them. Between the flowers he carefully placed the strawberries, few would imagine Ariin Sorus, thief, knowing how to decorate a cake. Growing up with four sisters you learn a lot dancing, baking and decorating, sewing, and interior design. Sorus sibling had really given Ariin a robust set of skills, if he survived this war long enough to retire he would be very good caring for a home and family.

After decorating he set them in the fridge to cool, slipping once more out he grabbed his clothes from before from the locker and headed for the showers. He decided if he was another project it didn't matter, he was here now and he would have to live with whatever choice and schemes he brought him here. He was part of Sigma squad, he shouldn't wonder why he chosen but prove he was the right choice for the squad. He showered and washed himself quickly, he smiled and headed out of the showers, changing back into his more civilian clothes.

As the clock neared dinner, he once more retrieved the cakes and brought them out to the table. He'd spent most of his day on this and the sneaking around in the kitchen and killed all his remaining time off. He smiled, four very well decorated and neatly made strawberry cakes two with chocolate icing and two with vanilla. He would have made cheese cake but he promised Sigma strawberries, taking a seat he waited for the others to arrive for dinner in the mess hall and to see his handy work. He really hoped Harold wouldn't ask where he got the ingredients, after all in the military they valued ingenuity, right? He hoped so, because he really didn't want to get punished for cake baking.
@FamishedPants Well put up a sheet and we will see where it goes.
@FamishedPants It is for a bit. We dropped some people so I am taking a couple more people on.
@Ezmeralda Staves as a custom skill would be fine.
@Ezmeralda Well we lack mounted units at the moment, other than that another archer could be useful. I wouldn't mind another healer, axe wield, though we lack heavily in people with a lance.
While I have been putting this off I feel I can't continue without addressing this. I am dropping @Katakon @Animal @MarsAdept who have not posted here in days or contacted me otherwise. Now with four people gone I am thinking of opening back up to applications after we get the ball rolling here. Probably only take one or two more whoever, I like our little group.
I will throw in my interest, always enjoy a good revolution.
@Draconequis Added a small paragraph.
Matthew nodded to Sayuri. "I welcome the help of course we can pay you a wage." He smiled and then looked at the crowd. "Alright, I'm going to get these books put away, then I have to see about wagons and horses. We should head into Plegia first, a lot of reports have come in about attacks and destruction of villages." He said as he started towards the door.

The tactician nodded to Andross. "A dance could be of use to us, I'd be happy to have you along. Just one thing, they call me the Champion of Naga. Lady Tiki is the voice." He smiled as he walked away from the dancer, the books were really getting quite heavy now.

Matthew paused long enough to explain a couple of things to Mars. "The Shepherds don't protect sheep... Rather it's the name of a volunteer fighting force that travels and fights were it needs to. Smaller and better equipped than a standard army it can move faster and strike where needed." He explained to the Manakete woman. "If you like I've got a book in here Tiki and the Hero king Marth." He said, knowing she wanted to read on Manaketes.

The young man looked to Jerod, he looked the veteran type. "Would you mind getting everyone inside and help get things set up." He asked politely enough before entering himself and setting down the books, he quickly wrote a message and attached to a raven, sending it off to the quarter master to prepare some wagons and a few additional hands to help them travel.

The Tactician then lifted his hand and released a wind spell blow dust and cob webs out the windows, he repeated this in each room of the barracks until he finished. He returned to the common room smiling as put his books on the now clean shelf. Humming he plucked one of the books on Mark and claimed his room, near the end of the hall it had three book cases, it would be enough for now. Soon the raven returned and he called out down the hall. "Can everyone be ready to travel in an hour?" He asked, hoping so they really needed to get moving. Plegia would no doubt be the landing point for the invasion forces.

Bern gathered what remained of his forces, Genna climbed up onto the back of one of the spare horses. Bern taking most of the army and heading north. Genna looked to Chloetta speaking to her now as they rode along. "You don't think much of Bern do you?" Asked the observant archer, not accusing so much as asking. "I do not remember much... You are from the Church in west, yes? Please I'd like to know more about my new commander." She said politely, young woman giving a small smile. Genna would otherwise remain silent until they crossed the border.

A small group of soldiers waited for them, twelve in total. Each carried a lance, most of them were from the West formerly of Rosanne's army no doubt. They saluted Chloetta and the captain stepped forward. "We came up to meet you, the camp is not far. We have three mages, two monks, four clerics, and about dozen mercenaries and warriors as well." He answered before stepping back into line and awaiting orders.

Vera nodded, as Sules spun in circles now watching his ravens circle over head. "Head slightly south east from here. Watch for pegasus patrols and be ready to answer any questions they have." The red haired barbarian answered as she pointed the way. "Failing that, the horse knows the way. So just let her lead if your lost, Sules and I need to go, safe journey... Oh and he wasn't lying about the newt thing... I've seen him do it." Vera waved halfheartedly as walked back towards the village.

Sules smiled in a goofy fashion stumbling back and forth dizzy. "Yep! Course the general did get better... After about a year..." He giggled again, walking away in a zigzagging line as he tried to catch up to Vera. He fell over and Vera picked him up with one hand carrying the boy along now as they left the man stand in the desert with a horse. Most would consider that one of the best encounters one could have with Vera and Sules. Normally Sules through curse's first and then asked why. Vera just killed anyone she meet who she didn't like, all and all Guillame was rather a lucky man.
@Eisenhorn Matthew wouldn't ask others to do this... They only signed up to defeat the Church not try to stop fight between these two.
