The light shield has to be dropped, and the charging ability will take three turns of charging two turns to charge, and the third turn to fire. Otherwise accepted as a heat type of weapon along with the secondary.

You can request for a weapon system in OOC, and if it's accepted it gets into the character sheet and Lorenzo will note that the pilot is authorized for it, getting R&D to equip it for the next battle.

I assumed you read the character tab alongside the IC. There is already a rival character in the form of Irina Spanova, and the enemy side doesn't have sentient human components to it, so a deadly rival is unfortunately out of the question.
