During missions, Inotsu dons the standard ANBU uniform. Occasionally, he also wears a black, formfitting outfit similar to the ninjas of the long-disbanded Root.

Personality:

A calm, collected, and, at times, laid back individual, Inotsu is a well-regarded and respected member of the ANBU Black Ops. Incredibly intelligent and analytical - nearly comparable to a member of the Nara Clan - Inotsu favors careful planning over anything else when it comes to missions. With that said, he is also adaptable when he needs to be. Furthermore, he is a highly perceptive person with keen eyesight - hawk-like in fact; able to pick up the smallest of details with relative ease. As a child, Inotsu was quite energetic, outgoing, and self-confident to the point of arrogance. He was also quite self-centered. But after the loss of his teammates, Inotsu grew into the more calm and relaxed person he is today.

Amongst the ANBU, he is feared by the name "Body Snatcher" - an alias which Inotsu detests greatly. He is well-liked amongst his peers and works exceptionally in a team setting which is a majority of his time within ANBU. He cares for the safety and well-being of his teammates and prefers plans that minimize the risk to the team. Despite this, he still understands when a sacrifice needs to be made in order to ensure the success of an important mission. Inotsu feels quite detached from his clan. He believes he share little in common with other members of his clan which is one of the reasons he decided to join the ANBU. Bringing up his Genin teammates is a sore subject for him as he would prefer not to be reminded of their loss. Although, he still carries his earrings with him as a reminder of his childhood days.

History:

Inotsu was born on June 14^th to Inoi Yamanaka - his mother and great granddaughter of Inojin Yamanaka. Not much is known about his father other than that he was a failure as a ninja and died early after Inotsu's birth. Inotsu entered the academy at age four and was an average student for most of his time there. Many of the other students found him to be incredibly obnoxious and so he made little friends. However, two particular students did managed to tolerate his attitude, going so far as to become friends with him in the near future: Katsumi Sayomi and Haru Inuzuka. They were some of the best students at the academy so Inotsu would always challenge them to prove himself stronger. Katsumi would mostly brush him off, citing him as a "dumb brute", while Haru reveled in the challenges. Inotsu would always lose however but a mutual respect formed between the two boys.

Inotsu's drive and passion for wanting to prove himself a worthy ninja also grew on Katsumi with time and the three of them became good friends and rivals. Inotsu's constant challenges would wear on their friendship if not for Katsumi being the glue that keeps them together. The most level-headed of the three, she kept things from going too far. With hard work, Inotsu managed to graduate the academy at age 11 and was teamed up with a girl from the Nara clan named Shikanami and a boy from the Akimichi clan named Chōzu under the tutelage of Masaru Sarutobi. They were one of their generation's Ino–Shika–Chō. But, as a child, Inotsu always strove to be independent and refused the idea of being lumped into a group. He wanted to be recognized for his own merits.

Despite his early protests and refusal to work with his team, he soon grew fond of them and would even become good friends with them. Entering the Chūnin exam at age 13, Inotsu and his teammates passed with relative ease, especially Shikanami who was the overall winner of the tournament round. Inotsu was always a step behind her. A year later, Shikanami and Chōzu joined the ANBU, leaving Inotsu behind. They still kept in touch with each other but Inotsu felt jealous of his friends' success. Even his long-time friends, Katsumi and Haru, were ahead of him in everything. He feared he would become his father who he resents for being a terrible ninja and dying on him so early in his life. Several months passed and Inotsu was approached by an ANBU member named Nise Uyanagi - now the current Chief of the ANBU Black Ops. He told Inotsu that he had been keeping a close eye on him and asked if he was interested in joining the ANBU. Inotsu agreed and from then on was made a member of the ANBU.

In his first year, he reunited with his previous teammates of Shikanami and Chōzu and went on countless missions with them. But, soon, he lost his teammates in an unspecified event known to very little people even within the ANBU. In the aftermath of this tragedy, Inotsu was approached by Uyanagi again and was asked to join a special training program established to create an elite ANBU squad. Inotsu accepted and, after several years of grueling training, was molded into the splendid shinobi he is today. At some time during Uyanagi's training regime, he recommended Uyanagi to check out Katsumi and Haru, believing that they have what it takes to become members of ANBU. Some time later, they, too, would join the organization. Despite Inotsu's growth as a person, he still maintains a healthy, friendly rivalry with Haru and Katsumi still acts as the trio's "glue". Around the two of them, Inotsu behaves a bit more similarly to his child self.

During the days surrounding the assassination of the Land of Earth's Daimyō, Inotsu participated in numerous intelligence mission to uncover the truth surrounding the assassination but his team found nothing. In the process, he did established a bit of a reputation amongst the enemy. They even gave him the alias "Body Snatcher". He received the name "Inotsu the Gale" from his teammates. In the present, Inotsu is still with ANBU, having pledged his life to the organization.

Fighting Style:

Inotsu is an extremely agile combatant who relies heavily on Taijutsu and ninja tools. His movements are incredibly fluid and phantom-like, making him a difficult target to hit but, conversely, his speed and accuracy makes evading his own attacks a problem for the enemy. He is a very frenetic fighter, always keeping the enemy on their toes and pursues the enemy relentlessly when they're within his range. Inotsu has a mastery of his clan's techniques and even created some of his own. Although he possesses the ability to use Wind, Lightning, and Earth, he primarily relies on his Wind Release techniques. Inotsu is also quite adept at Genjutsu but rarely relies on them in a mission scenario. Aside from his prowess to inflict damage, Inotsu, like many members of his clan, is a Sensor Type ninja.

• Yamanaka Clan Secret Technique: Ten Detachments from the Material World: A technique that is impractical for battle unless the enemy is immobilized while still being conscious, it is used more for interrogation than anything else. Turning his consciousness into energy, Inotsu transfers his mind into an enemy up to ten times; during each transfer, parts of the enemy's body is rendered useless as a result of the violent and abrupt mind transfer. The order is: left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg, nose, ears, throat (cuts off speech), eyes, brain, and heart - resulting in death.

Plot

"The unsung heroes. They will never know our names. As they bask in their sunlight, we flutter in our shade."

After the Fourth Shinobi World War, the surviving nations formed the Shinobi Union: an alliance initiated by the five Kage at the time with the hopes of eliminating the need for future conflicts by providing equal opportunities to all villages within the alliance. It was a model system that continued for nearly two and a half centuries. Unfortunately, peace and unity did not last... As new rulers of the land gained control of their respective nations, arguments arose over what direction the allied nations should take. Some wanted the nations to continued its peaceful, opportunistic ways, but some wanted to focus on improving military operations to coerce smaller nations to join the alliance - an action that completely opposes the original principals of the Shinobi Union. As a result, political relations within the Shinobi Union became strained. It seems as if the ninja world was on the verge of a Fifth Shinobi World War.

In a unprecedented event, the Daimyō of the Land of Earth was assassinated during a five-day summit to discuss a return to peace for the Shinobi Union. This enraged the Tsuchikage and resulted in an order for the Land of Earth to leave the Shinobi Union. Suspicion of the assassination fell onto Konohagakure and the Land of Earth was able to convince the Land of Wind to join them in leaving the Shinobi Union. That proved to be a major blow to the public relations between Konohagakure and Sunagakure; the two villages were firm allies even before the Shinobi Union and the Fourth Shinobi World War. The Land of Lightning, not wanting to be involved in the conflicts, decided to leave the union and became secluded from political matters concerning the three previous nations. The Land of Water remained mostly neutral but favored a closer relationship to the Land of Fire than any of the other nations.

With the disbandment of the Shinobi Union and the lingering suspicion that Konohagakure is responsible for the death of the Land of Earth's Daimyō, the state of the ninja world now mirrors the time before the Third Shinobi World War: a time of tension - where any day may be the day that war breaks out. Skirmishes and border conflicts have become a usual thing and new criminal organizations started to pop up all over the lands. Thus, the need for tactical advantage increased. For Konohagakure, the Ansatsu Senjutsu Tokushu Butai, or ANBU, became the key component in their military force. Those that fight in the shadows so that others may rest peacefully in the sun... You are one of Konohagakure's ANBU Black Ops. Your goals are the village's goals. You are to serve your village with your life. You are but a leaf in the shade.

○ Since this takes place two and a half centuries after the events of Naruto, the world is a bit more modern with the inclusion of skyscrapers, vehicles, etc. However, technology is still not to the point where there are guns and computer electronics such as computers, cellphones, and the likes.

○ Missions on the Mission Board are optional side activities for players. It's mostly for social interaction and team building for the player characters.

○ Opening and Ending songs (OP/ED) will be chosen by a player picked by me or a Co-GM or who volunteers. The songs will be used for an unspecified period of time before another player is picked to submit new songs. You aren't require to do this. It's just a fun little side activity that adds to the Anime/Manga feel of the RP.

○ I'm pretty lenient when it comes to character creation but please refrain from making ridiculous overpowered characters or perfect characters. Characters are subject to my approval and/or the approval of the Co-GM's.

Unfortunately, you're a little late with that idea. We already have someone with plans to make a Hozuki clan member and in the interest of having a variety of characters, I'm keeping the limit to one. You'll have to come up with a different idea unless @Sloth decides to make a different character.

Man that'd be awkward if Kirigakure ever found out Konoha was sheltering one of their rogue ninja with one of their national treasures within their black ops organization. Might even spark a war or two!

But really I'd rather you didn't since that would properly shatter my suspension of disbelief if he and Chigetsu were on the same team without Chigetsu taking the sword back.

Besides, experiments are more fun anyway. I mean, look at all those Orochimaru volunteers!

That's why I suggest the character has made amends with Kirigakure before joining Konoha. The two are close allies and wouldn't harbor the rogue ninjas of the other.

I'm assuming Chigetsu is the name of your character? In any case, he'd probably be chastised for stirring up conflicts in the ANBU XD

I think I have a character panned out, but I'll see. It's going off of a headcanon I read about 'remedial classes' for failures in the academy.

Could I play as a former rogue shinobi from Kirigakure? I was thinking of a swordsman who's one of the 7 swordsmen of the mist.

If not, some product of a forbidden experiment that was meant to create a new type of jutsu.

Former rogue? Does that means your character made amends with Kirigakure before joining Konoha's ANBU? And I'm cool with your character being one of the 7 Swordsman of the Mist. In fact, I have two NPCs in mind that are also part of the 7 Swordsman. One is the Mizukage and another will be revealed later.
