Current Sorry for my lack of posts lately. I've just... been struggling to get the energy to write something up. I'm trying some new meds through so hopefully that will change soon.

'John' politely shook his head. "Apart from the heightened level of aggression that this school year appears to have started off with? Not really no." was the only answer that Ves felt even remotely comfortable about giving; It was mostly true anyway. For all he knew the potential supernatural thing he had seen that wasn't himself might have simply been a figment of his own paranoid imagination.

Shaking his head a little as he allowed himself to smile warmly, 'John' decided to add "I'll admit that a year ago I... wasn't in a healthy place mentally. But over the holidays I found something to believe in that has really helped bring me out of that darkness and I'm looking forward to this year with optimism for a change." Turning his head to look at the school building, he took a deep breath as he asked "So who do you think is going to be in your class this year?"
@Nevis

Up to you. My plan for Ze and Mr Nailbrain was to have Mr Nailbrain set fire to the outside part of the slums and spread a panic that the solders were trying to kill everyone... at which point Ze would step up and give people a way out via the Smuggler tunnels. Turn people against the government and earn some loyality for the coming civil war. I don't see why that needs to change.
Yeah, I think I might drop out. Sorry.

"Until we both mutually agree that we will be better off apart, I do." John answered, deciding that he might as well make it clear that there was an out in case this didn't work out in the long run. There really wasn't much more that could be expected of them after all.

'John' was about to answer Eric when he noticed something that made whatever passed for blood in Ves's veins run cold with paranoid fear. The girl had kicked the boy in the knee rather hard; More then enough to at the very least dislocate it and should have done so if he was any judge of such things. But it didn't. The boy just continued on as if nothing strange had happened at all.

Ves had tried so hard to make sure that his departure from hell would not be noticed... at least not by anyone important enough to give enough of a damn to ask any questions or send someone up to find answers, but there had always been that 'What if' nested in the back of his mind that worried him to the core; That kept him looking over his shoulder every day.

The boy might not even be a demon, he could be an angel for all he knew! Why?! Why did he have to attempt to say that prayer the pastor on tv was saying on Sunday? Sure he had intentionally mumbled it and said it wrong in order to avoid actually catching God's attention to avoid this situation, but maybe all that did was jumble the signal and force them to send some eyes and ears on the ground to scout out the area for him!

Or... maybe he was just seeing things and jumping to conclusions? Sure paranoia could be a benefit if people really were out to get you, but there was such a thing as too much right? Right?

Shaking his head to refocus on Eric,'John' answered. "Huh? Sorry, could you repeat the question? I got a bit distracted. Not used to having girls flirt with me, you know?" He tried to pass off with a nervous little laugh.
@Greenie

Maybe she would know who in the crowd is actually worth talking to in order to get information... If she's street smart and relatively known, she could have contacts. Maybe she can even get to them before Khaz scares them off or worse... brings them under 'guard protection'.

'John' merely raised his eyebrow a little as the girl who had been up on the roof moments ago seemed to... swagger off after flirting with him? Ves wasn't one hundred percent sure if that was what was actually going on. He wasn't exactly a master of human interaction to begin with and John didn't make things better; John never made anything better. Deciding to label the mystery of the daredevil teenage girl as something to look at later if he had never better to do, he mentally shoved it into a box and pushed it to the side as he focused back on the fight and the developing aftermath.

He had to admit, he had picked up a whole lot more respect for the kid with the 1970 Camaro. Not everyone would have stepped up and offered to help like he did... and the reaction of the boy who had been involved in the fight to this assistance to his female counterpart raised some red flags; While he didn't know what their relationship with each other might have been, it seemed rather controlling... possibly even abusive. He was going to have to keep an eye on them from here on out because this was only going to cause trouble somewhere down the line and if he couldn't cut it off at the knees before things went south, he wanted to have an idea about how bad things were going to get so he knew how far away he needed to be to avoid that mess.

Turning to look at Eric again, John shook his head a little with a chuckle as he said "You know if this is just a taste of all the drama that people are going to bring with them this year, I'm betting that the school play is going to be absolutely amazing."
@Greenie@Hellis

Depends on what you need help with. Khaz is always up for assisting his herd with inquiries... everyone else through...

" John. Ves answered back, accepting Eric's his hand to shake firmly. Glancing over towards the 'popular girls' question, a small smile appeared on his face as he softly muttered "Don't worry to much about them. Once school ends and they discover that their popularity means jack in the real world, they'll either discovery humility or crash and burn horribly... maybe both." Of course that wasn't always the case, but he didn't need to say that aloud.

@seriousarmour@Caits

Hearing the sound of a car pull up, Ves offered it and its driver a glance, but quickly turned his attention elsewhere for the school year hadn't even begun and already some idiot of a girl had managed to climb up to the roof somehow. Gazing up at her, 'John' couldn't help but ask aloud "How the bleeding hell did she get up there?"

@RainbowFactory

And of course it wouldn't be the start of a school year without some pointless fight and blood being spilled.

For a moment, John considered the possibility of just saying no and walking away; It wouldn't be to difficult since the witch doctor was clearly giving him an out right here and now and no one would be able to blame him for taking it. Truthfully he had never had much hope for just about any pairing that he could have gotten from this arranged marriage deal due to his status as a member of the undead being something of a hurdle towards having a proper relationship with a member of the living, but if he walked away now he would have to go back to Halloween Town after giving up at the first sign of trouble.

He couldn't do that to his father or his mother; They hadn't raised a quitter and he wasn't going to let them down after they put so much effort into getting his name on the list.

Keeping his voice down in order to not cause any more of a scene then had already occurred, John calmly answered the witch doctor "She said yes. She even provided her own vows, which is something I noticed most of the other couples didn't do. Since the lady is willing, I suggest we keep going."
