Hayato thanked the young man called Haas and introduced himself, but when he wanted to ask more about the duel disk he was interruped by the announcement. "Ah... it seems like I'm up... Wish me luck. Haas was it? We'll meet again." He walked off, equipped with his deck and duel disk... Which he ended up wearing upside down by accident
Upon arriving at the location where his duels would take place he noticed he arrived first, during the wait Hayato decided to open his pack revealing an Xyz card and a few cards that caught his attention while silently getting excited over some of them. After a couple more minutes his opponent arrived which he assumed to be Clementine. "You're a bit late. its a bit rude to leave your oppoent hanging don't you think? So are you ready?"
"Hm?" Clementine replied in an uncaring tone. Earlier, she had put on her dueling disk and had been fiddling around with it, trying to get it around a comfortable position. She had also got slightly lost from not listening, but that was beside the point. "It ain't rude when you're getting ready," she said, "and I'm pretty ready."
Clementine sighed as she began to investigate her opponent. Something seemed wrong. It was quite strange. "Your disk is upside-down." She said.
Hayato looked at his opponent for a second time and realised his little mistake. "C-crap h-hold on! I never used one of the these before, so don't blame me!" He said, completely losing his cool as he quickly fixed his disk's position. "Like that? So, err... now what?" He asked after completely forgetting what Haas had told him.
Clementine sighed once more. "You're supposed to click the trigger thing at the bottom to activate it." She said. In all honesty, Clementine wasn't completely sure either. She just sort of assumed that the trigger started it. "Ah. Right. My name is Clementine." She said to the mistake-making man, her voice a little uncaring.
Hayato nodded at the female in front of him and replied with his own introduction "The name's Hayato." He said as his voice started to slightly sound more feminine at the end of introduction. He started to 'scratch' his neck and then pressed the trigger to avoid him being questioned about his voice "Let's just start the duel. Ladies first."
"Okay gir-" Clementine said before her voice was cut off by a loud announcement that signaled that the duelists should start. Her free hand crossed underneath her Duel Disk and pressed the trigger. Clementine drew 5 cards as the duel officially began.
With 5 cards in hand, Clementine searched through her hand for something she could use. "Hmm," she said, "I will set this monster and set these two spell/trap card-things!" She said as she placed 3 of her cards in her hand onto the field.
Hayato stared his cards for a few moments deciding on his first move. "I summon future samurai in Attack Position!" Hayato placed his card on the duel disk, and shortly after he saw a complete replica of the card as if it was a real person.
"Got any traps for that one?" He taunted at his opponent.
"... No." Clementine said with a disappointed tone.
Hayato nodded "Alright, then my Future Samurai attacks your facedown monster!" He said as he watched his samurai attempt to attack said facedown card. He was slightly intrigued by what was happening.
The set monster on the field was revealed to be Wattkid.
Wattkid, Level 3 Normal Monster, 1000 ATK / 500 DEF
Future Samurai lept at the Wattkid, cutting it down as Wattkid exploded into small particles. Future Samurai lept back to their regular position as the Battle Phase ended.
"Before I end my turn, I activate Supply Squad." He said as he put the card from his hand onto his duel disk.
Clementine's face lit up as soon as she drew her next card. She quickly grabbed it from her hand and placed it onto the field. "I Normal Summon Denko Sekka!" She said with a smile on her face.
On the field, a samurai woman appeared. "Now that it's Battle Phase, Denko Sekka attacks Future Samurai!" She said enthusiastically. Denko Sekka ran towards Future Samurai. Within a flash, the two samurai fought each other with their blades. Rather quickly, Denko Sekka overpowered the Future Samurai, stabbing her blade through the chest of Future Samurai. Future Samurai dissapated into small particles, just like Wattkid had.
Hayato: 4000 LP > 3900 LP
Hayato had drawn another card because of Supply Squad.
Hayato looks at the cards he had drawn "I've got no other choice huh... I put a monster facedown and end my turn" Hayato said as he sets down a card facedown on the duel disk.
"Hmm." Clementine said as she drew her new card. She wasn't as enthusiastic as before. "I guess I will just set this spell/trap card, and end my turn. Right after I attack."
Clementine then attacked the set card with Denko Sekka. The set card turned out to be Legendary Six Samurai Kageki. "Oh." Clementine said, slightly dissapointed in herself.
Clementine looked at her current hand and the card she had drawn. "Hm." She said, silently thinking that 'Hm' was the only word in her vocabulary. "I will play Hammer Shot to destroy Legendary Six Samurai Kagokekerierkeik-" She said as she cut off her own speech because she didn't know how to pronounce Kageki.
On the field, a spell card was played and appeared in her S/T zone. A hologram of a giant hammer fell onto Legendary Six Samurai Kageki. Once the hammer raised, nothing was left underneath.
Hayato drew another card because of Supply Squad.
"Now, I will attack directly with Denko Sekka!" She said. Denko Sekka leapt towards Hayato, and her blade swung directly at him. It would have chopped him into two Halfyatos, if it weren't a hologram.
"GEEZ, THAT SCARED ME!" He yelled after he recovered from a mighty blow and then looked at his drawn cards, "I suppose will just set these cards face down," Hayato simply put 3 S/T cards facedown and one monster facedown on the field "and that's the end of my turn."
"Uh." Clementine said, her vocabulary changing slightly. "I guess I will do absolutely nothing this turn. Oh! Except for summoning this monster!" She said, Normal Summoning Guardian of the Throne Room. The large golden tank with a slightly human appearance appeared on the field.
Guardian of the Throne Room, Level 4 Normal Monster, 1650 ATK / 1600 DEF
"And then I end my turn." Turn 10: Clementine: 3700 LP / 2 cards / 2 monster / 3 Spell/Traps Hayato: 2200 LP / 6 cards/ 1 monster / 4 Spell/Traps
Hayato sighed before looking at his drawn card "I just end my turn."
Clementine frowned. "This is getting boring." She said. "I will attack your set card with Denko Sekka!" She said, attacking the set card with Dekko Senkka.
Denko Sekka quickly ran towards Immortal Bushi, and sliced him into an Immortal Twoshi. He faded away into more small particles as Denko Sekka ran back. "Now, Guardian of the Throne Room will attack directly!" She said as the hologram of Guardian of the Throne Room launched a giant missile towards Hayato, it exploding into a hologram explosion.
Hayato quickly resolved the effect of his Immortal Bushi generally not caring about that card Hayato drew his card thinking he would lose and looked at it. "This might be worth the risk... I summon Shien's Daredevil!"
Upon summoning Shien's Daredevil, Clementine activated the trap card that she had placed at the beginning of the game. 'Fiendish Chain' was activated, and chains erupted from the earth, wrapping up Shien's Daredevil
"Ah... There goes my comeback... In that case, I rightfully surrender from this duel." He sighed. "Well fought Clem-ch- I mean Clem-Dono."
Clementine wins by opponent's surrender.
As the duel ended, the lights in the arena began to darken, save for the one over Clementine. "Oh. I won." She said. Rather quickly, the lights went back to normal. The two duelists were expected to leave Arena B2 rather quickly, so Clementine left through the only exit for the duelists in the arena, meeting Hayato on the way. "That was pretty fun Hayato. I guess I'll see you 'round."
"Yeah! I enjoyed it! Mind if i walk with you?" He asked again, this time not trying to hide anything. "This deck is not very cute, is it?"
"I guess it's not." Clementine replied as the two walked out of the arena to watch the rest of the duels.
Hayato got terrible draw all game, Clementine got a 1700/1000 onto the field, Hayato couldn't stop it, Hayato had a last ditch effort to get a 1600+300 ATK card onto the field, but was stopped by a fiendish chains. Clementine won by surrender.
So i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place... Would it be possible to keep your duel relatively the same, at least in terms of outcome, but change the LP?
Oh yea, I reached sub-4000 before he did.
In other news, I remembered why Six Samurai were completely broken.
Rei watched the girl leap. Her body turned to watch the girl's leap. The way the girl's body blocked the moonlight was extraordinary. Rei's stillness was broken when the girl landed and Rei began to move once again. The young (and oddly blue) man turned and offered water to her and the old man. "No." Rei replied in a quick and sharp tone. Her slow walk slowly increased in speed after the man offered his help. Each step sunk into the ashen floor, which slowly drained Rei's stamina more and more.
Rattle, rumble, bump-bump. The bus rolled on and on. During the bus ride, Clementine was, well, insufferable. She accounted for at least 60% of the noise in the bus with her constant jokes and conversations to everyone near her. The more noise the bus made, the more noise Clementine made to be heard. It was like a torture no man should have to endure.
The sweltering heat was beginning to get to her. Towards the end of the trip, her loud voice slowly managed to quiet. This was the second trial, according to Clementine's imagination.
Finally, the bus stopped. Clementine looked out the window and saw the large tower. It was much bigger than anything back home. It was quite amazing. Clementine, being quite close to the front, ended up getting off the bus near last. From there, the bus driver opened up a large compartment and began to pull out bags for the students. Everyone got their bags, with Clementine being almost last (again).
Her bag was unnaturally small. It was only a small handbag. Some students had brought giant suitcases, but Clementine brought barely anything along with her. With her bag, she followed another man who seemed to also be near last. He seemed to know what he was doing.
She followed him to the large elevator which carried the students up and continued to follow him. The new students were all picking out what decks to use, and a pack (if they chose that they wanted it). Clementine, being the intrepid listener she was, didn't know what was even going on. She panicked and did nothing. She did nothing for a rather long time and ended up being the last person to choose their deck. There were only two decks left. One appeared to be a super edgy deck, the only light coming from it was the holographic lines on it, and the other one was had a god-damn Gellenduo on it. Being the intrepid and intelligent duelist that she was, Clementine chose the deck with the sweet-ass Gellenduo on it.
"That one!" Clementine said, her finger pointing to it. The teacher sighed, and handed the one with Gellenduo on it to Clementine. "And any pack?" He said, to which Clementine replied "I have something I want, so Megabox Megatin Megathing 2014!". The man sighed once again, and handed her the pack along with a dueling disk. Clementine was excited. She may get it. She ran off to a secluded corner in the room to open her pack, her hands trembling with excitement.
A look of defeat crossed her face as she didn't get it. She needed it. It was the greatest card in the game. She sighed as she put the cards from the booster pack into her collection. "I guess I'll just use straight vanilla." She said while putting the deck she had gotten into her dueling disk.
