Oh good lord. That man was really trying it; his any% pork-an-NPC speedrun was going at full speed. Well. In all honesty, he was progressing faster than the three of them. "Yea. Since we don't have a healer, I'll be on the razor's edge if I get poisoned."

Was this where Mags was going to die? Maybe. Alternatively, she could get horned down by the Lamia's brain control. Beating the shit out of her friends with the excuse of mind control would be pretty fun. However, she did have some pretty strong willpower. When the going got tough and she was faced with an insurmountable wall in a game, she was the type of person to just run headfirst into the wall until her anger mentally shattered her.

"Eh, I'm ready to go whenever."

Cleaved was an insect's body as Beniha's blade cut through their strange biology. Really, these bugs were beginning to get on her nerves. As her slash finished, a knife came flying by her head. It missed by virtue of Beniha remaining in motion. From the iai to her "sheathing" of her fiery blade, she didn't stop moving. It was only natural that a blade in the dark didn't hit its mark. Though, it came a little close for comfort judging by the subtle feelings of wind on her cheek. Next came the feathers. The torrent of feathers that came back at her were given a similar level of care. More or less, she didn't react to her own feathers at all. They simply avoided striking their master, instead choosing to circle around her as they dissipated into the darkness.

"Spare me the masturbatory villain speech," Beniha told the two intelligent devils. Her voice was as grim as it was annoyed. "I don't give a shit about how much a suit costs or what you think. I'm just here to solve a disturbance."

A light ignited the end of a stick of incense, briefly illuminating her mouth.

"And the way I see it? You two are part of that disturbance."

The feathers that had once vanished now returned. This time, they flew to embed themselves in the area, illuminating the bugs, crystals, and devils that opposed her. She remained in the darkness, the only thing audible being the deep breaths she now took.

She was charging something.

Hearing the name "LIFESIZED RIDLEY IN A 15 FOOT JAR" being shouted in the plaza confused her. She actually forgot she set her chat name to that one. Such was the life of a meme goblin who kept on using bizarre names in discord.

A thought filled her mind.

If he was already dead, wouldn't he just respawn 3 in game days later? Was there really that much of a reason to try and save him? The cat who was doing her own thing must have died like 5 times already. It was pretty unnecessary to try to save him. Well, that was unless those lamias kept him captive. Alternatively, porked him into submission. The only way out would be him taking the L-pill. Did this game have R-18 content? Who knew. Actually, were the lamias even hot? It'd be disappointing to pop on in and see that the lamias were just biped snakes. It was a rule of fantasy games that every female species had to be hot, damn it!

However, Mags did want to get those final 2 levels to finally begin to juice up to her blacksmith state.

Plus, she might be able to finagle a social link with a shrine maiden...

"Right ladies, we're gonna go save Lugh's cornhole from hot snakes. Also I'm bailing if we run into the worms again."

She punched her own hand in the anticipation of what was to come.

It made a painful crunch as she instantly regretted doing so.

The grinding trip was boring. It could have been worse. They could have been trapped in it for weeks like some bad anime arc. It went by quick, however, and before they knew it, Mags found herself back in the plaza with the rest of the goons. There, they'd been conversating about their next plan. More specifically, how they'd do the upcoming event.

"I'll probably just glue myself onto Ames like before," Mags said with a shrug. "to be honest, I ain't followed the political subplot. Reading lore make my brain hort and I want to throw brick. Also make brick. Me want get blacksmith."

The prospect of tossing whatever junk she made at things sounded hilarious to her. With a quick flick of the keystone, she figured that she just needed to buy a personal forge and get training. How expensive and long could that be? It was just a hot tube of metal and some hammer banging. Though, doing so when the party was just about to gallivant was probably not so smart.

"Gonna see if I can buy a personal forge with my," she checked an invisible wallet, "6000 neetbux."

They were in view. Well, not really. The darkness of the dome had made it difficult to see further than a few feet in front. She could hear them, though. It helped that the constant stream of bugs around her chose to focus on whatever the owners of the voices were doing. The tornado of feathers that surrounded her lit her way. It wasn't much light, but it was enough to ensure that she wouldn't trip on things in front of her. Then, the ground in front of her reflected the light from her feathers. The fact that the rocks she could barely see were being sucked away wasn't something she noticed. Years of experience taught her that reflective surfaces were ghoulish and were to be avoided. She was getting there in age, too. One bad slip...

She leapt during her sprint. Her feathers that surrounded her coalesced in two parts. One, a platform beneath her feet she could jump off of, avoiding the ground as much as she could. The second formed a ball in her hands. It was unstable creation, wishing to break apart at the first possible moment. Still, she leapt off the quickly vanishing platform with the ball in hand. In air, she pitched it at the two having a conversation. Quickly, it burst into a bright torrent of feathers loosely aimed at whatever was in the area.

Using the cover of darkness, she moved along the ground. When she was within reach, a blade of flame formed as she drew from an invisible scabbard. An immense iai designed to slice at whatever was in front of her. It seemed like an outstretched arm. Hard to tell in the darkness. It might have just been another insect leg.

Well, Sheri had no more use for the dog tracker. She tossed it to the ground, it crawling towards the downed guard's body. That was strange. One would think it would crawl towards the harpy that was currently attempting to murder Vera. Well, appearances were deceiving. Something about Kiska saying it was only supposed to be a test came to mind. Was it some form of noble's murder mansion mystery that she read in one of the chronologues? The customs of the earthern folk often changed. Really, why did they even have recordings of their cultures? The cultures were oddly ephemeral, unlike the culture of Saint Telhan.

Wait. Right. Vera was going to be possibly murdered.

With a motion of Sheri's fingers across a page of Transporation of Tomes, the other floating books--save for the silver directory tome--took an open position in front of the mage. In a brief moment of competence, Sheri flipped through the pages of the books in front of her with a dangerous amount of intent. She tapped various columns, symbols, and pages within each book.

The Book of Increased Weights seemed to shimmer with a magical glow. Preservation techniques to protect its integrity washed over it. The book, well, increased in weight. Finally, she thrust a finger across the Transportation of Tomes once more. The Book of Increased Weights was launched at the harpy. Sheri carefully watched the battlefield. She was ready to redirect it away at a moment's notice. A third because she was predicting the harpy to dodge it. A third was because it may have been sent towards Vera. A third because she wasn't sure if the unconscious guard was good or not.

Well, if it was going to hit Vera, she'd do her best to redirect it upwards.

When Ames mentioned setting herself on fire, Mags gave a solemn nod. "If you were closer, I would have asked you to hold my hand and light me the fuck up."

Now that the worm oni were firmly dealt with, it was time to grab the loot and get the fuck out. Mags didn't really care about this set of loot. Her gear was already better or the stats they gave were negligible. After all, even though she was the only one with a enmity generator, the stat loss from losing her battlemask was massive. Well, she'd gain 50% of her HP back. The free stamina from the mask made all that life loss worth it.

"Let's get out of here and try to farm up an easier zone for 50. I'd rather not have to deal with... worms. Unlike you lot, I have to touch those things. Also, I need to hold a candlelight vigil for my shovel, may he rest in piece."

Mags looked at Raime and his lack of arm. She shrugged. There wasn't much she could say about Raime losing his arm. You know, besides the obvious lines. Calling him stumpy, using hand crossbows like 50 Copper and Ludi'drizz't, or that he reenacted 127 hours to become a laser cannon. The man was probably having enough trouble with coping that he couldn't currently use his bow.

However, she could easily rib Klein. With a quick yell, she told the wildman "nice flyin'!"

Right. There was Amulak. He was probably still pinned. Really, that's what he got for not dumping his points in strength. If there was one thing that Mags was good at, it was being a STR monkey. She began to use her ape powers for good. Off the rubble went, freeing the pinned warrior as she horked the rocks and debris carelessly behind her. At the same time, she was mumbling something about her boy being taken from her too young. She was tempted to just pull the man out of the rubble, but that'd probably result in his leg being torn off.

She wasn't about to give the party a second dismembered status effect.

Yet.

Well, she still had super human strength. Even though she lost the 40 strength juicer, she was still the strongest one out of the group. Well, onis excluded. She didn't exactly know how strong they were. Still, she ripped off a head and didn't get her head ripped off. Wait. It wasn't the time to think about things like this. She didn't exactly have the time to make a plan to avoid the worms. She wasn't about to sacrifice the pick to keep herself safe, either. There was a flying oni dropkick and she needed to deal with it.

With a deep breath, she took a daring leap towards the side of the dropkicking oni. Even if it glanced, she'd probably survive. What was important was that the oni didn't have the means to protect his upper body anymore. He wouldn't be able to avoid a sick guillotine drop used as a counter. But Mags wasn't done there. No, she instantly went into another blow after she landed. A magpie special thrown down at the oni's skull. If it was inaccurate and hard to hit, then all she needed to do was toss it out when the enemy couldn't dodge.

Regardless of if it hit or not, she shot up to her feet and ran again after these blows. She wasn't going to deal with those worms more than she had to.

She looked at the situation. Ames was pummeled. Amulak was pinned. Raime was about to get crushed. Then he got a gat and beamed one of the onis to high heaven.

Ames it was. Again. Really, the two were becoming some kind of bizarre duo at this point. Well, Raime's fault for getting a cool nucleus this time.

In an almost 5-head moment, she charged at the oni bear hugging Ames. From there, she went for a simple flurry of two hits from the power hour. Damage wasn't the intention. She learned pretty quickly that the oni didn't really notice the 20 blows of power from last time. No, this time, she used it for the knockback. It'd get Ames out. Maybe. She wasn't exactly sure. If there were worms at his breast, then they might be knocked away too. Either that or she'd just knock all the worms out of the oni and onto Ames. Only a comically non-existent depraved and sadistic designer would do that, right?
