Aya's fingers paused as they ran through the dog's dirty fur.

The dog… speaks english?

She glanced down at him, eyebrow raised. But then the other man spoke, drawing her eyes up to him. Was he right? Was this really just who Cassandra was? Aya thought back to the gruesome scene she'd witnessed, the revelations Sebastian had made about her. Things had been tense and awkward in the apartment whenever Aya'd gone down to tutor her, but… really? She closed her eyes and leaned her head back again, fingers once again trailing over the dog's fur. Super dog or no, he was still at least good comfort.

She opened her eyes when Max approached her and tried a smile when he reassured her. She could practically feel the disapproval coming off the other man (which she deserved) but it was nice to have Max to at least pretend it wasn't her fault.

"Willow Point Apartments," she said. "I called the police back when it happened, so they're probably there now that the thing at New Sun's… calmed down. If it's ok, I'd really rather not talk to them right now." Today'd been exhausting enough without involving the police and all their procedures. "Could I go up to that room where my stuff is?" she asked, wanting to get out of the infirmary. Aya didn't have the best memories of hospitals. "You don't have to worry about my arm. It's just some bruising and redness. Plus you said this place was gonna be busy once people started coming back from New Sun, right? The doctors don't need me taking up an extra bed."

Aya gave a little jump when the dog popped up onto her bed, but then he looked at her with those eyes and she couldn't help but smile.

"Hi handsome," she murmured as she scratched behind his ear with her left hand. She was a sucker for dogs. Aya looked back up at Max as he continued talking. "Thanks, but I really don't think the FBI will be necessary," she replied. The idea of starting a whole new life didn't appeal to her. All she really needed to do was get away from this Meta war craziness. Moving in with her mom in Japan was absolutely out of the question, and there was nothing left for her in Hawaii, but she'd figure something out. And then there were the issues of her schooling and work…

She supposed staying here for a few days to get things sorted out really was the best option.

"As for Sebastian…" Her fingers stilled in the dog's fur as she replayed the events in her head. "I watched him murder two people, and turn their daughter into a killer just like him… her name's Cassandra. She can generate electricity and shock you with it, and now I guess she's with him. Her stepdad was my landlord. I followed Sebastian to the New Sun building and watched him make that deal with that woman, Isabella, and the doctor controlling the dragons, and I called the police… but Sebastian came back and saw me." Closing her eyes, Aya leaned her head back against the wall and sighed. "Then this happened," she said, holding up her right hand.

"But then I had him and I let him go. And now he's going to kill who knows how many." It wasn't even like she'd done it on accident, or Sebastian had gotten the upper hand. "I was the one in control and I made the decision and now…" Now whenever Sebastian killed or tortured or manipulated, it'd be her fault. "Sorry," she finished lamely.

"Better now," she lied. Taking a deep breath to steel herself, she tried once again to push herself up, gritting her teeth against the pain. After what felt like an eternity, she was finally sitting, leaning against the wall. She looked down at her hands in her lap – both had deep purple bruises circling her wrists, but she saw now how angry and red her right hand looked, the color gradually fading higher up on her arm. After effects of Sebastian's poison, she supposed.

"I'm um… sorry about what happened at New Sun," she tried awkwardly. She'd heard the news about the New Sun building and the battle on her way here. It was the biggest news in the city, and impossible to miss. "If you… knew anyone there or…" She trailed off, uncertain. Glancing around at the floor around her bed, she continued, "Thank you for, y'know… helping me. I'll be ok."

Aya'd originally come here in a fit of desperation, traumatized from the torture, but now thinking about it with a clearer head… what had she been thinking? She had to make sure she never ran into Sebastian again, but to go to the Reformists? Aya'd managed to stay out of Meta politics for this long, and it looked like they were gearing up for an all-out war now. She'd told them what she'd needed to, and now it was time to escape this madness while she had the chance.

"…Where did my bag go?"

i got bored just twiddling my thumbs, so now aya's (sort of) up and about via the power of jake's fart.
Something smells awful…

That was the only thought swimming around Aya's brain. Apparently whatever it was had been exceptionally disgusting, because she was pretty sure she should still be asleep. God, she felt terrible. Then there was someone shouting and her mind snapped to attention at the noise. She wasn't home. She was in pain. She didn't recognize that voice… did she? Behind her closed eyelids, Aya could tell there was some sort of florescent lighting shining down on her, and behind that god awful smell, antiseptic was thick in the air. A hospital, then?

She tried to peal open her eyelids, only to snap them shut when the lights stung them. After a while she tried again, little by little, until she could squint them open in (relative) comfort. Her eyes darted around the ceiling, but couldn't see anything of note. That same voice rang throughout the hall again, and this time Aya was certain she recognized it. Sliding her hands so they lay beside her on the bed, she pushed in an attempt to sit up – and immediately regretted it.

"Ah-!" she gave a muffled shout at the pain shooting through her wrists and the entirety of her right arm. It was then that the day's events came rushing back to her. Sebastian, Cassandra, the Reformists… that was how she knew that voice, she realized. It was the man who'd helped her when she arrived. What was his name again?

She forced her head to turn towards his voice and tried to look at him. There he was, standing with another man and a… dog?

"Hello?" she tried in a soft voice.

I'm not sure what to post so yeah.

It's ok, me too. Aya's passed out so I'm pretty much out until someone wakes her up or we move forward a few hours.
@AcerRo weren't there posts saying ruby had sided with them? And they had Cindy and tree baby Jesus?
i'm confused as to who exactly the prophets are
Aya didn't even bother trying to wave away Max when he asked her to go to the infirmary. She simply lacked the energy to care if she was a burden. Besides, even though she could only see the bruises, she couldn't be sure her blood was actually clean. Who knew what sort of toxin Sebastian had left swimming around her veins.

Thus, suitcase dragging behind her, Aya allowed herself to be lead to the medical facilities. It was a slow process, and she swayed more than normal, but eventually they reached their destination. She made a bee-line for the first empty bed she saw and fell into it, giving a soft groan as her sore body reacted to the new position. Forgetting Max, Sebastian, and the day's events, Aya finally sank into a deep, much-needed sleep. She'd done what she needed to. Her job was over.

Aya couldn't help flinching away when the man rushed to her side to lead her to a chair. He was tall, unnaturally handsome, practically dripping with concern… for a moment she saw Sebastian's face on this new stranger's body and she felt her heart jump into her throat, if only for a moment. He even looked to be about the same age. But… it was probably nothing, she told herself. Los Angeles was full of tall, handsome men, and so far she'd only met one homicidal maniac. It wouldn't do to let one bad apple taint the lot.

Good lord, she was tired.

Raising a hand to accept the offered water, she let out a soft thanks and drank until the bottle was empty.

"Aya," she finally said. "My name is Aya. I was coming home from work, when…" She trailed off and saw the day's events play out in her mind: watching Sebastian massacre a family, following him, the torture. Without realizing what she was doing, Aya shook her head against the memories, squeezing her eyes shut. She raised both of her hands and pressed the heels of her palms into her eyes. "He… there's a man. His name is Sebastian Lyone. He was…" Aya lowered her hands and sighed as she tried to order her thoughts around and remember what she needed to through her haze. "I don't know, the Underground movement had him locked up or something, but now he's out and working for them. Today he made a deal with Isabella and that doctor with the dragons and that little French girl…" Had she ever gotten their names? Aya couldn't remember, but she hoped it all meant something to Max. "He's supposed to attack Reformists until after Eden's born.

"He's dangerous… murderous."
She looked down at her right hand and looked at the marks he had left – the scabbed-over wound in her palm where he'd poisoned her and the angry purple bruise fully formed on her wrist where he'd used blood to hold her up. "He can control blood and make it do anything he wants – even turn it to acid and burn you away from the inside out." She looked back up at Max. "I'm sorry, this probably isn't much. I just… thought I should warn you."
