Is that how you get visitor messages? I thought you got them by being cool. ... oh, shit, I forgot I had any.

If I ever imply France in an RP where, for example, the context for calling something "French Toast" doesn't exist, you can know that's not me.

Bio

I'm a generally chill gomboblin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. Lots of Nintendo. Dark Cloud is pretty sick. That's a lot of variety, and I do like to play a lot of different games. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.

Magic in space is something that I find isn't done very much. Airships and spaceships could make for some cool centerpieces. Skies of Arcadia did a fantastic job of this. Perhaps that's not in space, exactly, but it's pretty close. Some of those ships may as well be space ships.

She'd been anticipating this. The phone interview had really set in that things were happening, but it also gave her certain impressions. About the champion, specifically. She seemed like an easy-going woman who didn't like getting caught up on bureaucracy or formalities.

That was the nice way of putting it, at least. Having her sit around with nothing to do was a good way to get her to describe things more colorfully, but she'd anticipated this and brought a book. It was a book with technical illustrations and dense paragraphs, on Pokemon anatomy, and it was something she made do with when she didn't have live subjects to study.

Hmm. Somehow, that phrasing sat strangely. Most of her "subjects" were pets, perhaps that was why?

Eventually, they were rescued by someone that confirmed her suspicion. The champion was supposed to have met them here. So, "carefree" really did mean "unreliable"? Hmm... She could see the correlation, but there had to be outliers, right?

At any rate, their rescue whisked them away to the local professor's lab. Quite the grumpy guy, but there were multiple reasons she could think of for that. He must be very busy.

And when dealing with a champion like this, that was understandable! She couldn't imagine this woman lifting a pen. She was likely a nightmare in paperwork, and if you ever have a meeting, you know she'll only show up on time when someone else is late.

But... She's strong.

A sobering thought to glance over at the champion with, despite her earlier scorn. All interrupted by someone's grandstanding. And what an attitude it was! Enough to get him kicked out by a large dragon Pokemon. Well... Maybe that's a small dragon Pokemon, after all.

The others opened their pokeballs and found a surprising variety of Pokemon within. Not the usual starters she'd heard of, but it was an interesting change. Eevees were always interesting, and she'd never met a Litwic. She looked at the PokeBall she'd been given, turning it over for a moment before opening it.

"Tyyyrunt!"

A Tyrunt? She'd heard of them, but they were supposed to have lived eons ago. Her starter was something so amazing as an extinct pokemon?! She got a dinosaur! "What an impressive jaw you have! How's all that jaw fit in a PokeBall, ah? I'll call you... Kaebe." She went to pet the creature, but snatched her hand away when Kaebe turned his head. To play? Hmm... That was a big jaw to just play with. Could take her hand off. She wanted to see that Kaebe had enough control to... Not do that... Before he did that.

"Well, Kaebe, let's go to the park. We can play and get to know each other a little, maybe eat before we leave town. I think there are wild Pokemon in this park, too." She had to take some time to learn about his diet, as well. Her guess is... Raw meat.

There are a few pirate clans scattered about, but nothing worthy of forming a nation out of. Anarchic space is going to be synonymous with dead space, ruled by Scourge or pirates.
Whichever you like. There are existing nations you can create a character within, or you can write up your own. I'm not gonna say what to do like I'm recommending a lunch course to you. Taking over an NPC nation would be rather difficult, though I suppose not strictly impossible. As for building one, that's up to your writing, isn't it?
Not really. Zark's race has some bender-type powers, but they rarely occur. Wide-spread or naturally occurring psychic powers would be rare and... I dunno. Maybe. You'd have to really sell me on why your character or race should have psychic powers.
Nah, I better not put anything more on my plate right now.
Still breathin', people, just had some unfortunate disappearances. A few folks who expressed interest have just not been seen again, for example. I want another person or two, really. And maybe I should make some finalized sheets.

"I'm sure you'll do fine. I'm just wondering what this magic entails." Trinity gazed at the case, unsure of what it would mean for her friend. Whatever it meant, Trinity doubted she'd do anything that couldn't be fixed. She found her feet set on the ground and the dimension of fur she'd been surrounded by suddenly retreated, "Aww..." but D'Angelo's dismissal of her offhanded accusation stunned her out of whatever dissatisfaction she had.

"That's a n..normal thing for you, is it?" It was really quite a stunning thing to hear, just a casual headbutt between friends, but somehow this ludicrous notion had a feeling of nostalgia to it.

The words she heard came echoing back to her, "Not much of a hugger," he'd said.

"You tried to hug him?" Her voice cracked, she thought it was easy to see from 1000 paces that you maybe shouldn't hug Nolan. But maybe that was just because she knew him? "And you say it's been a long time since you've seen him last and you gave little to no introduction? Y'know, strange surprise hugs are scary..." She certainly wouldn't want a surprise hug from a big stranger, even if it was in the middle of the guild hall. The surprise aspect has a lot of influence, here. "Sounds like you've got your own story about Nolan already, though."

Aiko had stayed up a decent part of the night, just tending to Nabarra and giving her occasional sips of potion. A bit of slight of hand and a bit of magic moulding made getting it down easy. Once Orias had gone to sleep, she let herself doze off into a trance and went for one of their little walks.

There was a lot of work to be done; Minds to pacify and thoughts to curb. A presence to cover up. She would begin with the tavern patrons, and burying the thoughts of the dark elf in the tavern. Distracting with sex appeal usually worked, and those dreams fed well, too. But, while she was out amongst the dreams, there were thoughts regarding multiple dark elves. That... Complicated things. The king did bend his knee, surely that wasn't going to be the end of it. Was this the next step?

The dreams involving multiple dark elves were, simply, nightmares. Covering up the existence of Nabarra, a specific dark elf, from a mind that did not perceive her as a specific dark elf was going to be tricky. Was reducing the count by one enough? If there had been any more to deal with, it might have been useless, Nabarra would have just been a body in the crowd.

Perhaps more concerning was the horror present in these nightmares. Horror at the sights of the day. Fear of gore, violence and pain. Fear of dark elves and their magic. Whoever those two were made quite the impression.

By the time their work was done, the dreams were drying up as dawn broke. There were still those who worked at night or slept in that they could visit as the morning came. And Yuka should be returning soon, so maybe they would wake after all... For a short while.

The wound was dressed, but there was no immediate result. Not that she expected it. "And we'll just dress her back up before she has a fit..." No need to agitate the apparently wounded and slightly prudish dark elf. "Poor dear, should have said something." But, with tensions as high as they are now, not garnering attention may have been best. Still, though, just gonna sit there, poisoned?

"The shape shifting?" Right, she slipped up earlier. "No, not very common. I shift about to suit my mood. You both still recognized me immediately, so maybe maybe the mask is better for a disguise, after all? It does comes in handy, though." Had he caught on? What would his reaction be, to a demon? Would it be like the other's reaction to a dark elf? It didn't seem like he was overly suspicious of her, but that could mean anything.

"So, how did the two of you meet? Quite the odd pair, I must say. You might even call it two ends of a spectrum, the two of you. What kind of dreams brought you to this place and company?" Aiko found herself gently curling a lock of Nabarra's hair around her finger and stopped, settling their companion into the bed and letting her be, now that she was dressed and dressed and they were waiting on Yuka.
