If I ever imply France in an RP where, for example, the context for calling something "French Toast" doesn't exist, you can know that's not me.

Bio

I'm a generally chill gomboblin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. Lots of Nintendo. Dark Cloud is pretty sick. That's a lot of variety, and I do like to play a lot of different games. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.

Magic in space is something that I find isn't done very much. Airships and spaceships could make for some cool centerpieces. Skies of Arcadia did a fantastic job of this. Perhaps that's not in space, exactly, but it's pretty close. Some of those ships may as well be space ships.

I thought you were doing really well, but I guess if things are a mess behind the curtain, I wouldn't necessarily see that.
Yumi-chan no Yumeiko no Akame no Kami

Location: Mantleville Streets
Interactions: Velvet @Lemons, Rebecca @Massasauga

“Whoooaaa, that's a phone?” This revelation caused Yumi-chan to observe the phone in greater detail - even as she listed off foods - noting how the one surface emitted light and changed appearance easily, like a TV. When Velvet was done on the phone, Yumi-chan remembered that she’d been asked a question. “‘-chan’ is fine by me!”

“You killed them?” She considered it for a beat. This person, who was being so kind? “Must have been trying times.” Akame was a peaceful goddess. Bloodshed wasn’t really something she supported, though to take life was sometimes necessary. That is why food is so important. The joke was a welcome distraction, as was the little info dump on Velvet. Coventry was where she was born, huh? Velvet Coventry. “I see what you mean about a strip club. Or a stage name.” She looked at Velvet for a moment, then shook her head, “don’t do it. You’d ruin your small, cute image. Be a plushie queen, instead, that’d totally work for you.” She nodded, matter-of-factly.

When Velvet explained about cars, the duplicate nodded softly and spoke softer, “yeah. Poor little critters..” She was passingly familiar with those deadly things. She’d encountered enough roadkill on the way here. The look she’d offered the car as it passed was more like a glare.

The question about her age was a welcome one, “My age?” She’d perked up immediately. “Ah, Master. Er..” she looked around briefly, “maybe I should be more careful how I refer to her in public. Eh heh.” Yumi-chan cleared her throat, “a-anyway, ah, age. Yumeiko is.. Mm, four-hundred-n-something? We grow a new tail about every hundred years, right? Yumeiko has five, and Miyuki has nine.”

Yumi-chan then gave the vampire an adoring hug, “you’re pretty cute, for a crockety old lady~”
Precisely. I'm cooking up a reply just now, too.

To provide a quick summary, the day has advanced to night. At about dinner time, some kind of Ancient Accord the condominium had with a bunch of gremlins proc'd and now those very gremlins are causing a ruckus as part of a game: catch the most gremlins and get one prize of your choosing from the human world. Miyuki hadn't eaten lunch and got grumpy and stormed off to her room, Yumeiko got pissed that they - oh yeah, the gremlins killed the fridge, so there's very limited dinner - messed with their food and went to go hunt them down. Velvet and Rebecca went to go get some food for Miyuki, and Yumeiko sent a.. kinda dumb?.. copy of herself off to go with them. She wanted to hang out, but also.. express herself.. to the gremlins. As part of the game, the gremlins must not be harmed.

Uuh... I think that's all the important stuff?

Her hand harp paused. Trinity’s first reflex was that the woman was crying, but something seemed off about that. “Oh!, ah-..” before she started worrying actively, she observed. She wasn’t acting anything like she was crying. No betrayal of any emotion on her face, just a smile balanced between two sources. The hand that had only just started to reach toward Evangeline stopped, and instead lifted to her own lips and chin as she watched the tears, rolling then falling then.. bouncing.Oh.”

She was attentive during Evangeline’s explanation, nodding along gently while her music faded back in. “Very flexible. The versatility really has to be appreciated.” Karma came by to give Evangeline her mark. When the other young lady went to conceal her tears, Trinity turned her attention aside, spotting the cloche she had made resting on the table. Her left hand came down onto it, shaped to pick up a ball, and as her hand descended, the cloche shrank and rolled into a ball to fit into her hand. It was tossed into the air, where it would hang over her shoulder.

“As a maker magic, Energy Make is really useful. I use it for a lot of everyday stuff, like silverware or plates or whatever when I’m camping. It glows decently, so I can use it as a lantern. It gets brighter if it’s, er.. ‘hot’, but it’s harder to handle, too. I can’t really cook with it, though: if it gets too hot, I can’t hold it together easily. After walking a while, I worked out a sort of,” she waved her hand in a circle in front of her, rotating her wrist, considering how to describe it, “locomotive cushion, to put on my shoes that lets me travel on foot much faster.”

Was that the chef leaving the kitchen? “Er..” She frowned, thoughtful, before she turned to look in her money pouch. She’d given the meal she received to Evangeline. It hadn’t gone to waste, so she’d been alright with giving it away, but now she wondered when she was going to get something to eat. “Is that the cook? I guess he didn’t hear me. Mnn.

Little did she know, there was no milk. The recipe she wanted usually called for it, though it could be done easily enough without.

Regan Calhoun

Regan offered a smile as Jason explained his background, “It’s nice to know I’m not the only foreigner. I’ll be relying on the Association for support, though.” He had his family in the area, on construction. Actually, what he’d said was more vague than that.

Anyway, he started texting his father. “Longsword..?” She watched him curiously for a moment before an approaching figure caught her attention. It was the clacking, really. Heels, from how sharp the sound was. It gave her away from a mile off. Regan turned to look at the bombshell approaching - yep, heels. She was happy enough to listen attentively - despite someone’s pushups - and then follow along as the beautiful woman explained their exact purpose here and led them through the facility.

Once they found the professor, she heard that strange voice from earlier going around the gathering of youths. Maybe she shouldn’t think of it as strange, that is someone’s voice. The accent was so thick, was all. The doors to the lab opened and the region’s Champion panicked her way in, with.. donuts! The Champ’s appearance left her with one particular question, but she supposed it wasn’t important. Who was Basil?

It had all been rather chaotic, but she could tell the three adults were close. The way the director’s personality completely changed when faced with the professor was a big clue. And the super-effective flirting from the champ. And the conversation between the professor and the director. In no particular order.

She raised her hand as they turned to depart, “I’ll take a donut.” As her hand lowered to her side, Steph caught it for a shake and introduced herself. She mentioned something about “the gyms? Not a bad idea, honestly. It’d be a surefire way to show I’m able. ” Her own handshake started out.. well.. surprised, but she quickly resolved herself and returned the firm gesture, before Steph popped off to go bother the adults.

She popped the last of the donut into her mouth as she approached the selection area. Like an outdoor space, wrapped up indoors.. Regan’s gaze wandered only until it found the table with the pokeballs set upon it. The grass she was surprised was here made her steps quiet as she came to search the nameplates. An unassuming, normal pokeball sat waiting, as she stood and gazed for a moment. She reached out, picked it up, and turned in place as she gazed at it, red and white and so much more.

The Ranger-to-be held the ball out, squaring her shoulders and taking a rousing breath, “Come out.” Firm, yet not intimidating. The ball’s lid opened, and the light emerged, pooling to the ground and shaping itself into…

A Tyrunt!

Was that a.. dinosaur? “Whaaaat..?” Regan got down to her knees and sat back on her heels, holding her hand out for the dinosaur to come and sniff. The Tyrunt did a sniff, and then she snapped her hand back as he went to put her hand in his mouth. He gave her an unsure look and, after a moment of hesitance from her, she reached out again, slowly, to pet the top of its snout. The dino cooed, rubbed into her hand, and then climbed into her lap, his tail wagging. “I didn’t know dinos would be so cuddly..”

The aspirant sat back onto her rear, in the grass, getting comfortable with the lizard in her lap and petting him slowly. A moment longer, and she started to rise to her feet, “alright, c’mon. We can’t sit around just yet.”
Ooh my God I didn't even think of that, that's hilarious

Oh, now that was a spectacle. Chickenmancy? The way the sudden magic display seemed to completely disorient the dwarf from the earlier spat was.. rather comical, honesty. “He popped, and all the pressure came out.”

The elf gave a chuckle as the dwarf went to offer her name, only to realize he didn’t have it. She smiled, offering a nod of her head in a meager bow, “Niara,” her offering readily filled the void where the absence of her name had been. “I’m not sure how much this will come out to, but I’m sure it’ll be useful for something. I’m glad our friend there, ah.. Yingmei, brought proper farming tools. I’ve only things for gardening, fool me.” She chuckled, willing to count it as a good fortune, and not a near disaster.

“As Brom says, take your pick, deary. I’m sure, as we all get settled in, we can work out the best place for it, but I think things may yet be a touch too chaotic to say for sure. An inn, you said? Hmm.. we may have use for those wheat seeds, yet, even without that mill.. The shy girl over there is a farmer, see her? The one with the chicken - the.. white one," she glanced over her shoulder at the.. chickenmancer.. that had just summoned blue chickens. "We just came from a successful search for farmland. An inn needs food and drink, right? I’m sure she could use your support next time she goes out.”

“But! We’ve called first dibs on you, good sir.” She laughed again while she continued to process the rice, as Brom had shown her, “don’t run away from helping with tonight’s meal, now.”
Jason or Tristan, huh? Yeah, that's a clear choice.
