It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. The difference between two powerful characters is who conserves it. Both characters were in an aggravated position, but Nero turned and walked away rather than doing something amazing or clever while you went to lengths to show off your character's ability. Even though it's true I've been singing Nero's praises, he's got weaknesses that keep him very much in check. Only one curse can be applied to anyone at one time, most have time limits, and if you're not expressly willing to be cursed, he has to either physically touch you or charge an object with the curse. Plus, even if he does touch you and inflict you with debilitation there's no guarantee he'd win. A child version of a formidable fighter could still beat him up, a person who's been struck blind or dizzy by a disease can still attack with magic, and so forth.

I didn't know magic detection was a thing, actually, so I can't fault you for that. None of my characters can do it, except perhaps Sanders.


That was, origanally, what I was going to post, but I got tied up by RL. You sing Nero's praises, I sing Ferrin's. We basicaly did the same thing, just in different ways.

Ie:

You sung Nero's praises, I went to great lengths to describe Ferrin's cleverness.

Nero walked away, Ferrin took a passive stance.

Fine KoL, I've taken down the entire Collab, me and vocab will edit it tomorrow, and in the future I'll just make Eiko as slow as a snail, because I didn't know that I couldn't have her be fast or seem fast, I just wanted to show that Eiko can just cut fast with a small blade and do a lot of damage, but I didn't think that I would have her seem like she was faster than Crimson.

Both Karn and Prince can detect magic in some form.

Prince eats magic, so he just naturally can sniff it out for hunting purposes. Especially very strong ones, or fire. (Like Master Jack)

And Karn also can track down scents. Unsure if magic would count as it could be just regular body Oder like most animals.

But yeah, I think most wizards can sense magic. Usually just not when they try and conceal it to avoid Magic Detection. Least from what I remember. Been awhile now


Then to Prince, Ferrin would probably smell like a five-course buffet. XD

Not to mention, it was of sight only. He could be bumped into, sprayed with something, smelled, heard or any number of other ways of detection, now he can acount for a few of those, but that would reqire focus and time--useless in a stand up fight.

Not having looked at Ferrin's profile I can tell that his stuff is less superpowers and more conventional magic. More freestyle spells/manipulation of energy. And the power level thing really has more to do with the mage's internal supply of power and how much he uses in one go.

As I believe it said in the post a very large amount of Ferrin's power was used to make that fireball.

Also if it helps, think of Lux as a twenty year younger and slightly more hot blooded version of Michael.

But yeah, Ferrin took time to gather the energy, refine it, and enhance it. Its not something he could pull out of his hat, at the drop of said hat. On top of that, it was a sucker punch. The thing didn't see him coming and he had time to prepare.

The number of hits Ferrin could throw like that, given time to prepare would number in the single digits.
