Yes, you are right, but at the same time, no, you are not.

When you are correcting someone, some harshness is needed as long as it is also with kindness. Sugar coating is not beneficial for either the Shooter or the Shootiee. Firstly, as nice as it sounds, real life does not work that way. People will not always be considerate when they stomp on your feelings. Now, thta does not mean that because of that, we have an excuse to do it. Secondly, some harshness goes a long way in making the person realize "Hey, I screwed up." That's probably the hardest part, and the most abused/misunderstood.
I disagree. Letting ignorance be is a crime.

I made him forever ago, but had to work for a living so I disappeared a bit. Ran it by the Lead gm and he said it was fine that why I didn't know the whole dragon restriction. The personality I thought was valid, since I won't be jumping around acting randomly, I could of said he was kind of a joker with more words. Regardless, personality if by far the most absurd thing to claim in any RP as everyone will act however they want, cause we're human and react differently to our situation, but how of course does depend on our personality as a person when we post. Keeping the characters just in mind on how we think they would act, but can never really do it justice since we act on OUR own personality. I guess it works great if you have a multiple personality disorder.

The history is of course is very short and sweet so it may develop(if the chance ever arises, they rarely don't in these kinds of RP's unless the user goes out on the limb for it). The history was more just prior information he would have told anyone who would ask, without revealing too much.

With the Power, sure that could always be fixed, but I won't cause I'm definitely not going to be part of this RP. Apparently I don't match the skill of writing or RPing to match you or the others with my absolutely no substance character. Regardless how I was going to actually play him. I obviously don't have the ability to even try with all your recommendations on how to improve it from your "critique".

Edit: Alright, some of my fellow RPers here feel that I was too harsh, so what you see below is an clean-up version.

And boom, like that, you fail.

Being able to lisen and learn from critique is perhaps the ultimate skill needed for a writer. Even bad critique. ESPECIALLY bad critique. (Not saying what I said was bad. I stand by it.)

You many not realize what you did, but to me, it looks like when faced with opposition you threw your arguments in my face and metaphoricaly stormed off.

That may not have been ment, but that is how it came across.

Now, onward to refute my criticism.

Lead GM: I do not know the particulars of what She told you but I do know this, Dragons, in the AU have not been around for several centuries. Therefore, it would be very very strange for a family of Dragon Hunters to still exist. Second off, Fairy Tail is not like Final Fantasy, where people can gear up and hunt dragons. Dragons are incredibly powerful beings, in perspective, the biggest Big Bad in Fairy Tail (Zerif) is scared of them. Second, the reason Dragon Slayer magic came into being was BECAUSE they could not kill them by any other method.

Now, the personality. There is a phrase for the type of character you are talking about, and it is called a self-insert. Now, these types are by no means bad. They can be done well, but my gripe is specifically with how you have described it. Skipping back a bit, self-inserts generally do not work in a roleplay because you can see everything that lies before you from a 'unbiased' point of view, thus leading to a tendency to always pick the "right" choice, leading to Mary Sue-dom (and trust me, I don't throw that out lightly, see my sig). Characters and their personalities describe and limit what you do, and are paramount to establishing a good Character. Now, what you said it true, you are limited by your own personality, which is why you need a character so you can say "Okay, here is what I would do, but what would my character do in this situation?" That takes flexibility of thinking that is only attained by practice.

Do you want to know how you gain skill? Do you want to know how you improve? You work with other people who are more skilled. You learn from others who are less skilled. You take criticism, and learn how to give it back, and how to defend your point of view.

Now, lets not turn this into a flame war, if you have more to say, then fire off a PM, and we can take it up in there.
