I'm sure there's a lot of stuff I could put here but I'm blanking.

Could be cool. I've always wanted to play a super idol or something
No rush, just wanted to check in with everyone we haven't heard from in a bit. If anyone needs anything clarified or wants to discuss plot-stuff, please let me know or drop a PM!

I can't really get a good character going after mulling over some ideas during this weekend, so I'll withdraw. I appreciate checking in though! Hope it goes well for everyone!
It would be pretty funny if there was a whole ass chain set up. I generally intend on creating a character whose major regret stems from never confessing their feelings for another character (whether NPC or PC) because they only wanted to do so after the war ended.

So naturally, when the war ends (via death into time travel), its time to go hard.

If someone makes an exceptionally dense character, we can forego a chain and instead just go full harem on them!

Joking aside I wouldn't mind being a part of something like that. It could be an interesting arc if my character has to get over a one-sided affection for their support target, knowing in advance that it wouldn't work out or something like that. Or perhaps learning that they had someone else the entire time?

Actually that makes me wonder, is there any way of the PCs knowing there are other returners? I don't know if they'd all have motivations to share it with everyone but it's kind of a needle in a haystack situation if they don't know and don't have a incentive to tell each other
I suppose it's time to buckle down and start workshopping a character.

Anyone want a mainly-helpful-maybe-just-a-little-obsessive friend for their PCs, just let me know! I'm still thinking the supporter type could be fun (obviously they're still going to have some other things going on though)
So if there was a practiced mage who was sent back, due to the knowledge-based nature of magic as described, they would basically still have their failed timeline magic ability completely intact? As compared to an Aura which would likely need at least some training since it's more of a muscle than pure technique?

I'm not necessarily calling it out as an imbalance and maybe you answered that question already but I just wanna be sure. I think having a magic system would be fine, though I might have a slight preference to just a wider array of Aura options over Aura and Magic coexisting.
I can throw some interest in for this. Would be fun to make a character who uses their second chance to support/protect another PC who maybe had something terrible happen to them in the failed timeline (or maybe they just didn't meet or understand until it was too late?). A little Kuroko-esque perhaps
I've got some interest.

What kind of tech level did you have in mind? Modern day or a little ahead? Or something else entirely?
I'm here too, I just had a busy last few days.

From the IC:

Generally sopeking, whether it is a spell learned from a tome or a spell from a staff/wand, a spell can only do ONE thing. There are no "manipulation" or "amorphous" spells that can be used for both offensive, defensive and utilitarian purposes. If you have a spell that creates a small area of darkness, then it will just create a small area of darkness - it cannot turn things invisible or effect the surroundings. Likewise, if you use a spell that creates a firebolt, you cannot turn it inot mutliple projectieles or use it as a torch. Well, I guess you could hurl it down a hallway and follow the light with your eyes, but it'd go out as soon as it hit a solid object.

Other than this, she herself is fine in terms of everything else.

All right, I get that. I was kind of just working off of classic DND style cantrips which group a bunch of minor effects into a single spell. So basically, I'd have to break them up and make them more strictly defined/less versatile in what they can do? Would it still be feasible for her to have a bunch of novice-type spells in that vein?

Not really sure on the magic, I wanted to kinda capture the prestidigitation type effects but I'm open to tweaking them all still. If there's anything off-base let me know.
I think I'll go with the "cantrip master" type idea and start putting together a sheet, hopefully I'll at least have a WIP in a day or so
